This place is a very hole in the wall restaurant. The only reason we found this place was through my mom's Facebook research for restaurants to eat. We came in around 7-8pm which barely had customers. Unfortunately, some of the items we wanted for appetizers like the chicken wings in fish sauce and banh khot was unavailable. Even with appetizers, I believe we would not be able to finish our main entrees. *nui xao bo - had a nice Smokey taste with some sweetness to the sauce (it could've been from the noodle marinade too). The noodles were a bit overcooked but still very delicious. Personally, I like how big they chopped the peppers because it was easier to give to my parents to eat LOL good thing it wasn't sliced thin. *the bread is supposed to be like bo ne with cubed beef. It was very good! It was something different and a little on the sweeter side but it was sooo good. The pate was not overly peppered. There were TWO fried eggs instead of one and they were still gooey and runny. I love the addition of the laughing cow cheese because it brought some creaminess when assembling a little bit of everything. Would highly recommend getting the bread dish! (Number 3 on the menu) The staff was really friendly and if you're lucky, you get to see Lucky the dog! I wished they had more selection but overall a really good restaurant that has cozy vibes :)) read more

5/5 The parking can be difficult due to small lot with many businesses. The parking is only for one hour. The restaurant is rather big. We came in at 2:30p and could sit anywhere we want. The staff were attentive and friendly. They made sure to check if the chicken curry has fish sauce because my boyfriend is allergic to seafood. I had banh tam bi which was $11 and bun dau mam tom for share which was $17. The flavors were just right. The portions are large and food taste decent. I didn't have a taste of the curry because I didn't wanna cross contamination. And since there was no seafood it didnt make my boyfriend sick. At the end the server brought us to go boxes. They were extremely friendly and considerate and asked if I wanted to go sauces or vegetables. I will come back. read more

It has been a year since my last review, but the quality is still the same. The bun mam is so good, not too salty but flavorful, and the toppings are fresh. The service is friendly, and the restaurant is very clean and organized. The lady owner is so sweet and gave us 2 cups of Vietnamese yogurt. I will come back to try their bun dau mam tom again. Horrible service! We had to wait an hour before they told us they were out of the food we wanted.

" Ăn ngon lắm " That's việt saying after eating something good . Saw someone mentioned this place in a facebook group so we had to check it out . The owner lady was very nice and introduced us to a few highlights offered from the extensive menu . Some from northern region and some from southern Vietnam. There's three distinct subculture in Vietnam, north , central and southern, each with distinct dialects as well as food . We tried the Northern Bánh Da soup and it was very good and unique. We had not had this dish which she said from Hai Phong City in north Vietnam. We look forward to coming back and sample other dishes from the large menu . read more

Wife and I wanted to try this viral spot. Came in on a Sunday evening. Place not too full, got a seat right away. Reason for 1 Star is terrible service! We watched 3 groups of table that came after us got their orders in. The whole time we were there no one came to us. All we got was the menu and seems like they ignored us. The terrible thing is we were sitting next to the 3 other groups that arrived after us but we were ignored. Maybe because we are not Vietnamese. Regardless they chose to serve others and ignored us. No water was offered or did anyone ever came after we were seated. I've had this experience around town before but never like this, worse customer service in town. Needless to say we got up and left after the 3rd group got seated and their order taken. read more

Awful service. They messed up our order multiple times either missing drinks or mixing up items. We were only a party of 3, there weren't many customers around, and there seemed to be a reasonable number of staff working. However, it took an hour for the food to come out and only for one dish after multiple complaints. We ended up paying for just our drinks and leaving after the awful service. No explanation for the wait or apology. Additionally, the outside seemed pretty dirty with our chairs having food on them before sitting down and trash on the floor. We came back today for the Hu Tieu. Even though it does not say so on the menu, they will prepare it dry style with the broth on the side. It's actually my favorite way to eat hu tieu. It's prepared with a savory soy based sauce, their version leans a tad too sweet for my taste so next time I will ask for less sugar. read more

Came here on Sunday during lunch. No wait for table for 2. There were a few tables inside and outside patio. We sat inside due to it was a cold day. This is a little gem in Bolsa. The food is so, so good. The service is exemplary. There were a lot of seats so we were immediately assigned a table and given a menu. The young lady who was our server told us that there were no English translations but she would be happy to assist us in getting our orders. She showed us pictures of everything in the menu. And was really helpful the whole time we were dining. I'm just sorry that we didn't get to ask her name and thank her. I could not recommend this place enough. If you decide to go, sit outside. Very cozy al fresco dining like having a meal in someone's backyard. We will definitely be back. read more

Amazing and niche Vietnamese cuisine! Great service, but they only offer Vietnamese menu (no English, so use Google Translate). There plenty of indoor and covered outdoor seatings. Very freshly fried spring rolls, juicy filling, and great amount of lettuce/mint provided. There's no pho here, but delicious soup base and noodles. Bad experience here: 1. Service: slow and they brought our food to the wrong table, let it sit there for a while before bring in back to our table. Nem rán cua bể was soft and cold when they brought it back. They kept bring food to the wrong tables, not keep track what customers ordered. There were only 3 tables with customers here. 2. I ordered Nem Rán Cua Bể and Bánh Khọt Tôm for dine-in, and Bún Mắm to-go. The Bánh Khọt Tôm was delicious--it's a western-style Vietnamese dish, with a batter similar to Bánh Xèo. The shrimp was fresh, and it came with a generous amount of vegetables. This was my first time trying Nem Rán Cua Bể, but I enjoyed it. The filling was perfectly seasoned, and the outer layer was nice and crispy. Wrapping it in lettuce and dipping it in the sauce made it even better. The Bún Mắm had a strong, flavorful broth with a noticeable fermented fish aroma. While the toppings were a bit sparse, I can't complain since it was only $9.99. The only downside was that the catfish wasn't fully cooked, so I had to cook it myself. As for the ambiance, it's nothing special--typical of many Vietnamese restaurants. Came here with my daughter and we thoroughly enjoyed dining here! The restaurant is quite spacious and the setting gives you the feeling as if you are actually sitting and eating in Vietnam. We went to SaiGon Xua Cafe for the first time yesterday to try a new restaurant. Our philosophy is to try different new restaurants. If we like the place then we will return. If not, we will move on to another new place. Below is our review of Saigon Xua Cafe. Food: We ordered Bun Mam, Bun Dau and Nem Rang Cua Be for the three of us to share. The bun mam was very flavorful and good. The bun dau was also good. It came with a variety of items such as vermicelli, tofu, pork, cha, intestine, and lettuce. We wrapped the meat and cha with lettuce and dip with the provided sauce. It was excellent. My wife liked it because the doi (pig intestine) came with it. Finally, the nem rang cua be was very crunchy and good. We also wrapped it with the provided lettuce and mint and dipped the wrap with the fish sauce. This item was also very good. Service: The service was very good. The waiter came to get our order was friendly. The food arrived quick after our order (about 10 minutes). Water refill was provided without asking. All in all, it was a pleasant surprise at how good the food was since we did not have any expectation. My wife and I came here many times. I like bột chiên and she often eats bún mắm, both were the best compared to many other restaurants around here. This place reminds me of old fashion style restaurants in VN. Services are friendly. The only negative thing is that you normally have to drive around or wait a little bit to find the parking spot. read more

We always pass this restaurant when we are shopping and parking. Decided to try it. The open patio seating was "perfect" but no one came out of main restaurant to greet and seat. We almost left. We opened door to main restaurant and the server was sitting on a chair. We asked if they were open and she said yes. Service was quick. Food was ok. Temp of food could be hotter? Almost 90 degrees and we still dont have ice water. I had to go back in main restaurant to ask for water. Server was young. No work ethics. Never asked if our food was ok or if we needed anything.
