I LOVE Sajj! It's pretty close to my job so since it's opened it's become one of my go-tos. Everyone's always so nice when you go there, and you're always welcomed when you walk. The food is so yummy. It's way better than the kebab shop that's a few lights down from this place. The pomegranate chicken is delicious so don't forget to try that. One thing that I really like about Sajj is that everything that they give us can either be recycled or composted! They don't even have a landfill trash bin! That's awesome! Sajj is a great new addition in San Ramon! I've found myself there multiple times already. My first time in I asked the gentleman behind the counter what he recommended and he very quickly and enthusiastically recommended the chicken rice bowl. I love that he offered this opinion! I ordered the chicken rice bowl to go and added probably 80% of the free toppings + feta (which, annoyingly, is extra $ but a solid addition regardless). The garlic sauce is extremely garlicky - and that's a taste I adore! There's also a spicy sauce that they keep separate at the end of the assembly line which I totally recommend. I mixed the bowl up fully so that everything became a saucy mix of rice, chicken, and vegetables...and it was totally delicious and crave worthy. Another visit I had a shawafel (shawarma + falafel combo) wrap and it was as big and bulky as a Chipotle burrito, again super delicious. They give free soup with every order but I'll admit I've yet to try it. It's a nice gesture considering the price of the meal - though frankly you really get a ton of food for the $ which is more than you can say for many places nearby. read more

Had a chicken rice bowl and it was pretty bad. This place is like a Mediterranean chipotle, but not as good. Chicken was very soft but very dry. Everything must have been prepared way ahead of time and warmed up. read more

Clean establishment with ok customer service (I don't think I've ever seen a single worker smile here). Whether you get a bowl or sandwich, there are a ton of fixings to choose from. The garlic sauce is pretty good. I do have a big issue, however, with the portion size at this location. I've noticed every time I come here, their portion size gets smaller and smaller. And as many times as I have been here, there's never been a consistent serving size. When I noticed on my last visit the worker only giving a little bit of chicken (I ordered a chicken salad bowl), I decided to get "double protein" for an extra $2. Much to my frustration and disappointment, even after paying $2 for double protein, the amount was still less than the single protein portion size I had received from another worker at this same location just a few days prior. THIS PLACE IS SOOOOO FREAKING GOOD. OMG. I got a chicken shawarma rice bowl with cauliflower, tahziki sauce, garbanzo beans, tomato and cucumber salad, avocado and diced beats. When I tell you thins was the best Mediterranean bowl I've been had, I mean it was the best Mediterranean bowl I've ever had. This place is essentially a Mediterranean chipotle. I cook most every day. So when we get take out/delivery, it has to be worth it. SAJJ was totally worth it!! We had never been before, but saw it months ago (pre-COVID) and made a mental note to try it. I'm so glad we did! The food was amazing! We got the family meal- with the chicken and I added the eggplant and cauliflower- everything was delicious!! Everything was so fresh! The falafel were a family favorite- definitely some of the best we've had!! The pita bread is fresh and the greens were super fresh and not wilted at all! Bonus- they have French fries which is always a bonus in our family! We all were so happy to eat the leftovers this morning and it was still so delicious!! Sooo incredibly delicious and flavorful, Ingrid served me and my mother and helped us put together a vegan bowl my mom and I could share. It's really hard to find vegan food with this kind of flavor - and my mom has a hard time finding meals she really enjoys when she goes out to eat. Came for lunch today and left still hungry. My husband and I both ordered chicken schwarma salad bowls and were disappointed with how little we received. Some of the other reviews say their bowls were filling but ours were very skimpy. Flavors were good so maybe next time I need to ask for more greens and fillings? Just had a chance to grab some food from SAJJ. Love their bowls!! I remember they had a location in Mountain View that I went to a long time ago but I think this one is better. With covid-19 we had to just do take out so we grabbed out lunch and went to the park to eat it with my family. Very reasonable in price and for health nut folks like me it really does the job. My husband got the kabob and and I just got a bowl with salad base. The kids just shared mine. Pretty much super low carbs with high protein with the bean and lots of yummy veggies. read more

We ordered Sajj for dinner and got the falafel wrap and the chicken shawarma. We also ordered fries. The portions are really big - I was stuffed after the wrap and we had the shawarma for lunch the next day. The fries are one of the best - crunchy on the outside but super soft within. I stopped by today for their grand opening. I've been to the location in Mountain View many times, and I am excited to have an east bay location now too! The food is delicious and easy to accommodate many different dietary needs. Online, everything is clearly labeled at gluten free or vegetarian. You can build your own bowl or wrap however you please. I've been to Sajj multiple times and I've really enjoyed each visit. I like the set up where you walk in a build your meal. Similar to how you order at Chipotle. The options are nearly endless and they have something for almost everybody. The lentil soup is electric and the same can be said for the fries and pita chips. The service is fast and the atmosphere is nice if you choose to eat inside. I definitely recommend trying at least Sajj because after my first visit I became a fan. read more

Food is great for reasonable price, but hit or miss with employees. If you order online, call them to check the tag. Ordered online and waited 20 minutes for the pick up time, get there, and the employees were just sitting there talking. No customers. I asked where my order was, then they checked the ticket and continued to talk while one lady messed up the order. read more

Very nice customer service, really friendly, 50% off first day attracted a lot of crowd, but business is beyond just the first day. The Mediterranean touch is missing from the food. This place has been open for three weeks and we just noticed it. The location is kind of hard yo see but the food is awesome! Try the lemon dressing on the beef shawarma with sumac onion and the cucumber yogurt! Yumm The people working there ( or maybe the owner) are super nice and friendly! We love this restaurant the woman helping us was so friendly it was our first time there she told us her favorites and what we can add to our bowl since where vegetarian but still wanted it flavorful. I almost felt like we had known her for so long because she was so kind to us. Anyways the food is hot and fresh and tasted of quality ingredients which seems impossible to find these. She didn't mind that I took my time and gave me extra sauces she thought I might like. So so friendly this place loved it. Looks like Gotta Eatta Pita and Yalla Mediterranean have some competition. I actually prefer Sajj out of the three places. The food is super fresh and tasty. Fresh Mediterranean cuisine made and served with 1st class service from Mario and company. It was my first time there with the family and the ordering process was simple. Clean glass cases showcased the fresh ingredients. I ordered a steak wrap, which was very filling. When we were ready to pay I told the wife we should try the chocolate hummus dessert, which I've read great things about. When Mario overheard me and asked if this was our first time there, I answered yes, and he offered the dessert on the house. He simply said if we liked it too come back again next time and order it. Score! He was very nice to the kids when it was time to choose their drinks that came with their meals. Kids got what they wanted and felt special. Great service! It was a nice Autumn evening still in the 70's, so we ate outside, which was nice. Half way through our meal Mario came out to check on our food and asked how everything was. We told him it was great and we were very happy. I thought this was such a great experience not expecting any of this coming from a semi-fast food restaurant, but Mario was on a mission to ensure we were all satisfied. Shortly after he comes back with bags of crackers and there variety of dips. This was truly a wonderful dining experience thanks to Mario who went above and beyond to make sure we were completely satisfied. Keep up the great job Mario! We will be back. read more

We usually have good experience at Sajj, but our most recent experience was not good. We ordered the shawarma kit, kafta, and few other items. This is our third time ordering the meal kit, and have visited their location multiple times in San Jose and San Ramon, but For some reason, this time almost every thing went wrong. Delivery was very late outside the the 2hr window, rice was literally frozen like a rock, kafta did not have any tahini and looks like it was frozen and preheated right before delivery so it was watery and not tasty, they forgot to include tahini with the falafel. We called them to let them know, and to give them a chance to remedy the situation, they apologized, but did not offer to remedy the bad experience. Very disappointed as most customer oriented businesses will try their best to correct their mistakes this one just apologized. Giving them three stars for the previous good experiences to be fair. read more

I was so disappointed with all the great reviews and the food we got. We ordered pomegranate chicken and the chicken kabob plates. The pomegranate chicken was so dry and in tiny little pieces. It resembled the remnants left in the bottom of a beef jerky bag. The kabobs were dry and tasteless. We both ate the sides and threw the chicken out. The pita bread was soft and chewy and went with the hummus, which could've been put in a separate container, had I thunk of it.
