Came in for the first time! Been wanting to have a healthier meal for lunch and this was very satisfying! I had the regular bowl for nine dollars and added salmon. I liked that it was a build your own salad. I was happy that they helped me in Spanish I speak English but I feel more confidence ordering in Spanish and everyone was so helpful! I really felt like a big ass salad and took it as my cue the try Salata! Glad I did! All of the items offered looked great! Fresh and it was nice and clean! They offer so many toppings for your salads ranging for the typical onions, tomatoes, cucumbers etc to a variety of fruit, cheeses, and protein options. All toppings except the protein are unlimited. I was super impressed to see protein options like marinated shrimp, falafel, quinoa, and the most amazing pit smoked turkey! Add to it a spoonful of sour blueberries or diced strawberries, and a few pieces of processed meats. If you ask they'll give you a miserly piece of bread with seeds in it. Honestly, for me, The Salada Experience was just ok. They serve the usuals line-style where you choose what you want in your bowl. I ordered the small at $7 thinking ok that's pretty fair for a fast- foodish sort of place. Then comes the protein at $3 to $4 and hey those artichokes would be pretty tasty at another $1 and I really need to eat more avocado so yea go ahead add that for $1. So in the end my very small salad was around $13. I chose the lemon vinaigrette and regretted that decision from the first bite. It completely ruined my tiny $13 salad. It was bitter and totally the opposite of everything in my palate. I'm sure they would have made it right if I had taken it back but hey it wasn't their fault. Or was it? Tried for the first and last time tonight. Too stingy with toppings for our $8 salad. Was going to get soup but the broccoli soup was brown and looked disgusting. I will say there was a nice assortment of toppings though. Should also ask if you want your dressing on the side. Way too much dressing was put on our salads. No bread or crackers offered or available to eat with our salad so we weren't full when we left. Grabbed a burger afterwards and won't be back. read more

Largely disappointed! Started off great, went way wrong at the end. The same as most of the other poor reviews, I had to ask repeatedly for them to add a sufficient amount of the "free" toppings. That still wasn't the bad part. The bad part was when the full grown adult working there added the protein(not free part) to my salad and mixed it. He literally added 4 chunks of crab and one shrimp( seafood mix) to my salad. He was extremely sloppy mixing the salad, which he didn't actually do, throwing a considerable amount on the counter and leaving a large portion in the mixing bowl that he discarded. I was completely turned off. It was quite unappealing watching him prepare my meal as if he didn't care at all that the person who was to eat this was watching. I ended up needing to mix my salad myself when I got home. Pretty sure I can do better at Market Street. read more

We love a great salad bar with a large array of options and freshness! Salata covers both these needs at a decent price. It's new to the area and is still clean and shiny. The staff is helpful and friendly. Our only opportunity is quantity. As you move down the line, you tell them your selection of toppings. The amount they serve is ridiculously small. Ask for corn....get 10 kernels. Ask for more.... get 5 kernels. I understand food cost and don't complain about the extra charge for avocado and artichoke hearts. I just prefer more veggies, so I'll keep asking for more. read more

I really wanted to like this place so much more than I actually liked this place. As you walk in you get in line and can chose from a salad or a wrap. I chose a small salad and began my trek down the wall, a bit subway style. I chose all the toppings I wanted and then got to proteins, which were a $1 each (including artichoke hearts and avocado). There were, I think, 6 dressings to choose from and nothing special or extraordinary. The bill for 2 small veggie salads and a lemonade (which they make there, not premade) was roughly $20. Overall it was an average salad but I don't think I would go back at that price. Jason's deli has a better salad bar / options but I do appreciate the glass wall / sneeze shield at Salata. read more

I have been to the Salata in Plano and was not really impressed. So I was a little skeptical to try the new Salata on University by Costco. I love salads! I love salad bars. Wish there were more places with salad bars. I went this past Monday about 1pm. The place was still a little busy so there was a line. I almost didn't stay because I saw the line but wanted to see how fast they could get me thru. Not bad. I like how fresh everything looks. I also like all the options available. Everyone was very friendly and smiling. I got a large salad and cup of tomato soup. I also got it to go as I had to get back to work. They asked if I wanted them to mix the dressing or put it in the side. I don't like soggy salads so I asked for it on the side. Again..everyone was very friendly and welcoming. That makes a huge difference. After I paid I realized I didn't get my roll so the cashier was very polite and added it to my bag and then instructed me that there were crackers by the drunk station if I wanted them with my soup. Nice touch. It took me about 10 min to get to work. Now I like me soup really hot. I was all prepared to zap my soup in the microwave. To my surprise when I checked the soup, it was still piping hot! Now that is impressive! Well done!! I feel they are a little pricey for salad and soup but I am willing to pay that little extra for smiling faces, really hot soup and tasty fresh salad. Oh yes, thank you!! I first tried their online ordering and thoroughly tested it out. I found I could get as much as I wanted and stayed within the same price as first quoted. Then I called the store and they were helpful so when I picked it up I was able to see the outcome and was able to add a little more and paid like $1 extra. We stopped by for lunch the recently opened Salata in McKinney. We found the salad bar was very fresh, selections plentiful even the fruit, the price reasonable. Would have given 5 star except we weren't impressed with the soup and the tea bar that we weren't exactly in love with but others might find it interesting . It was unique for sure. I have eaten at many Salata's, but this McKinney location is my favorite. The salad makers they have are attentive and conscientious, not struggling to understand English and scowling at me. Also, at this location, they don't skimp. It's so great to get the salad of my dreams with freshly made ranch (I hate bottled ranch). I recommend the chipotle chicken, although I like to get both the chipotle chicken and the shrimp. Again, we're talking about the salad of my dreams, so it's worth it. The only problem is I have eaten here a lot and left with Thanksgiving dinner full tummy. I kinda don't want to see another salad for about a week. read more
