This place is a very unique place for ice cream. Flavors are so unique and different from all places that I have tried ice cream so far. Little pricey I felt but still for the flavors I won't mind paying that. There is an option to get two scoops by paying split scoop price. I got that and tried two different flavors. Tried their salted caramel and also peach one. There were tiny pieces of peach in that icecream. There's sitting arrangement outside the place as inside there's no seating. Also this is right next to cheese cake factory. So park accordingly.

Salt and straw is know for their unique flavor combos. I've tried multiple flavors there but I haven't been a huge fan of any of them. Pro tip: if you are a first time customer you can download their app and make a account for a free double scoop

Love all the flavors at Salt n Straw but our favorite is the birthday cake! Perfect for parties! The seasonal carrot cake was absolutely delicious. Can't wait to try new flavors! Service is super friendly.

I came here a couple times but never done a review. The store feels very open. They usually handle a one or few customers at a time to give them some time for samples. Love how they're always rotating flavors. Their flavors are always so flavorful, hits, and have combos you wouldn't think would go well in ice cream. Flavors: - Sea Salt Caramel Ribbon: salt and caramel are not overpowering, always hits - Coffee & Love Nuts: authentic coffee, I think it's diced hazelnut? but it gives a good texture - Honey Lavender: fragrant and not overly sweet

I love this place! There's always a line out the door which moves quickly. There's always new flavors to check out and I like that they offer samples. My go to flavor is the chocolate gooey brownie yum! I love that they have the option of split scoop. I got a single cup with the split scoop option of chocolate gooey brownie and cinnamon snickerdoodle. Can't wait to come back to try out the new flavors hehe

Strawberry Balsamic! Delicious! I usually get honey lavender but I wanted to try something new! Creamy and a bit tart! Definitely worth sampling if you haven't tried it yet! I got a split scoop, so you can't see the bottom scoop. My bottom scoop was the coffee flavor! Loved that too! Worth trying both!

Love their funky flavors and their fast service. This time I got a "Candyshoppe", which was one of their going away soon flavors. A mix of candy pieces, a little caramel and slight rum taste.

Salt and straw is a very solid baseline spot for ice cream allowing lots of flavor sampling and rotating flavors in monthly This particular spot has really good vibes, it is open late and is a nice break from hustle of the mall and the vicinity has plenty of outdoor seating Chocolate series in February was quite good they also have a chocolate brownie waffle cone ahhh (but sold out :(( ) Cake batter chocolate fudge was so fun and tasty! nice balance of creamy / sweet with a hint of chocolate Gooey chocolate brownie was not a seasonal flavor but texture was really nice and gooey as described

Whenever we're shopping at Valley Fair, we eventually hit that "mall fatigue" and need a sweet pick-me-up. Salt & Straw is always our go-to spot to recharge. On this visit, we tried the Strawberry Honey Balsamic with Black Pepper, and it was absolutely amazing! I never expected balsamic vinegar to pair so perfectly with strawberry. The black pepper adds a surprising little kick at the end that really elevates the whole scoop. The staff here are incredibly friendly and patient, they let us sample a few other flavors before we decided. It's a truly enjoyable experience every time!

I came on New Years Day around 1:30 and there was no line! I sampled so many flavors because I couldn't decide and each time the employee was nice when handing a sample! The little slot to put your used spoons is so cute too. I ended up going with the seasonal peppermint chocolate bark flavor in a kids size in a cup. Perfect amount , I could eat a pint but gotta control myself somehow. I need to go back for the ice cream taco!! They're in the freezer by the cash register and I totally forgot to get one when I was checking out!

The December 2025 flavors are here, and they're all delicious! Peppermint cocoa - Strong peppermint flavor, so good if you like it. Chewy molasses cookie - Definitely taste the molasses and the caramel adds that gooey texture. Almond brittle with salted ganache - One of my favorites for the crunch and salted, nutty flavor. Pineapple upside down cake - Tastes like a pina colada! Great cookie swap - Their classic holiday special which is so good and gooey!

    Sweet potato casserole!!! :)
    Kreesha E.

Sample before you commit to one their magically created flavors (: This time I got the sweet potato casserole! So yummy. Service was fast. Not a place to sit inside but there are a lot of spots outside next to everything else. They have vegan flavors as well

Came here to try the Thanksgiving themed flavors during the month of November! As always, the staff was very generous with the ice cream samples. We ended getting a double of the Parker House Rolls with Salted Buttercream and the Maple Koginut Squash with Pomegranate. Both flavors were delicious and complimented each other well! Parker House Rolls was creamy and slightly salty whereas the Maple Koginut was light and fruity. Definitely will be back in December!

You could buy tins of Marukyu Koyamaen matcha if you want to make lattes at home! Came here twice with my boo because their drinks slap! The Hojicha latte is not too sweet and very roasted, nutty, and smooth. The matcha crème brûlée swirl drank seemed to be their popular drink because a lot of those were being whipped up when we were waiting for our order. It looks aesthetically pleasing, but damn she thicck. It's like a milkshake and you need a big boba straw to get the liquid through. It was good but my boo said it was sorta a challenge to drink. A spoon is needed to thoroughly mix things together. The 2nd time around we ordered the matcha latte and the Hojicha cheese mousse. The Hojicha was a little stronger in flavor since there was no milk added to it. The cheese mousse was thick. I started drinking it through the sip top but eventually went in with a straw to mix it up. The hint of saltiness from the foam paired pretty well with the tea. My guy got the matcha latte with oat milk and the oat flavor is pretty overpowering. You'd taste the oat and then the matcha. It was okay but my boo finished it with no complaints. The shop is small but there's a long bench and a few tables to sip and chill. You mainly order from the kiosk, but when a long line forms, a human assists with ordering. The drink competition is strong in the plaza that they're in. There's at least 3 other boba shops in the same strip they're in and 2 more across the way. But Izumi stayed pretty busy the times we were there. Parking is kinda limited though because they're in a busy plaza. The last time we came we parked across at Target nearby and walked over. Overall, great Hojicha and matcha. The prices are decent for the area. They'll charge you if you want a cup of ice btw. Service is quick. I'd definitely come here again or to any of their other locations. When it comes to matcha they know what's up!

We got the red bean and the strawberry flavors - the portions were very large for a bay-area reasonable price of less than $15 item. It was my first visit and honestly, I was a bit disappointed; while there were lots of fresh fruits, I found the flavor bland and not sweet enough - which may be someone's jam? I wished it had more condensed milk to give it a more creamy flavor. The shaved ice was beautiful and fluffy - i'd say this is the main draw that may bring me back to try new flavors. The mochi was so soft and chewy, the shredded coconut attributed a nice texture, and I loved the mango bits in the center. I also enjoyed the coconut mango sago. There wasn't an option to modify the sweetness, which I was concerned about at first. The drink came out perfectly in balance with sweetness, and I felt that mostly came from the natural sweetness of the mango and coconut milk. Seeing stacks of fresh mangoes behind the counter immediately gave me confidence that the fruit would be one of the highlights of the experience. The mango desserts were easily the best part of my visit. I tried the Pomelo & Mango with Sago, which combined sweet mango, creamy coconut milk, chewy sago, and fresh pomelo for a refreshing balance of flavors and textures. I also enjoyed the Mango Chewy Ball, where the fresh mango and smooth mango juice paired perfectly with the soft, chewy rice balls. Both desserts felt light while still being satisfying, making them a great option on a warm day. I also had the chance to try a few of the other menu items. The mango mochi was fresh and soft, with ripe mango wrapped inside a delicate chewy layer. For something different, the spicy chili fish balls offered a savory contrast to the fruit desserts, adding a bit of heat and a springy texture that balanced out all of the sweetness. The ordering process was quick and straightforward, and my food arrived not long after I found a table. The dining area was clean and comfortable, and small touches like providing wet wipes made the experience feel a little more thoughtful.
