We have been coming to Saltgrass every week for years! Steve and Misty are always so nice and hospitable! The servers are great with teamwork and make us feel at home. Today we had Stephanie, she was amazing and on her A-game! We had the tenderloin bites and range rattlers for an appetizer, and Stephanie suggested we try the Cajun ribeye. The customer service was unbelievably unprofessional. We ordered a medium rare 16 oz ribeye when we cut it up it looked medium instead of medium rare. It gets sent back; a manager approaches us and proceeds to hide the plate from us. He asks sarcastically "what's a medium rare" "well we aren't going to recook it, so you can deal with it" after this encounter we proceed to ask for the general manager Misty and she looked unbothered while we told her about our encounter with this manager. I used to love this place. It used to be great. But when covid happened Landry's used it as an excuse to get rid of a lot of things, and not bring them back. I'm tired of hearing "oh due to covid" when they don't have prime rib. The bbq shrimp. The chocolate cake. Hell they wouldn't offer sweet potatoes for the longest time because I guess covid kept sweet potatoes from growing. I'm not mad at the restaurant at all. They are being driven by corporate and that's fine and all. But I refuse to eat here anymore. Salt grass is now charging a "premium" for a sweet potato. 1.99 to "upgrade". No bacon wrapped shrimp still, no desserts. Charging more for stuff that's cheaper. With the sincerest of hearts I hope folks stop eating at Landry's restaurants. Service was okay we had to sit at the bar because the Host said that we needed to make reservation due to then time they were closing, ordering the food from the bar was okay other than the bar tender forgot our food for 45min. Celebrating a new wedding engagement. Made a reservation the day before. Arrived on time. Hostess found our reservation. This is where things go bad. 4 people are seated at a round table for 6. Ok, so we played a little musical chairs and went along with it. IN. THE. PARTY. ROOM! And of course, there's got to be that one table of 12 that finished dinner two hours ago. Looked like maybe fifth round of drinks. AND that one drunk cackling loud mouth that makes you wonder why pain killers aren't listed under appetizers. Cause I would have paid dearly for those! Let's say I've had a quieter evening at a bowling alley during league season playoffs! Could not even converse at our table over the noise. Mistake 1: I ordered a frozen pina colada. What I got was a glass of ice chips with pineapple and coconut juice in it. What overworked bartender puts an orange on top of this drink?!! I couldn't drink it. I mean literally - it wouldn't come up the straw because the ice chips had formed a hand chain over that entrance and nobody was getting through. Manager slides by to check on us and let her know the drink was wretched. She goes, "What is that?!" Precisely the point I was trying to make. Mistake 2: the range rattler appetizer was somewhat dry and not warm at all. I would bet the onion straws were cooked hours before we arrived - Left that stale lard taste in your mouth. Mistake 3: the salad was still frozen??? I had never tried microwave salad before but this version was just begging for it. After a while, it thawed enough to eat. However, just because one person at the table doesn't want tomatoes in the salad, does not imply everyone at the table agrees with that choice. Mistake 4: I ordered bacon wrapped filet and shrimp with brussel sprouts. No shrimp and the sprouts were undercooked (my opinion). The shrimp eventually appeared on a plate without condiments or sauce. They were mildly overcooked and rubbery. The positive: my filet was perfectly cooked and flavorful. Overall this is a failure and I won't be back at this store again but I am still an SG fan for steaks. read more

When I contacted the restaurant I was told to just let them know about this the next time we come in. My husband had surgery and we could not dine in for a while. We are regulars. The lack of stars is due to wait time and quality of service. There were several people waiting inside upon my arrival, and it was super noisy due to the loud music and so many people talking. I had a reservation for 8 PM. Upon telling the hostess, she said she would check what the wait is and let me know. She never did. We waited 10 minutes past 8 to be seated. It then took several minutes for our waitress to come to our table and ask for our drinks. We were ready to order by then and placed that as well. She brought out our salad and soup a few minutes later, which tasted amazing. We did not get bread until we asked the man who brought our entrees to us for some. Our waitress totally forgot, which was irritating. When our waitress finally came to ask how the food was, I requested the check right then because I knew that I would be waiting forever for it if I did not. As mentioned before, the salad and soup was good. The steak was also. Mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese were not very good. I remember ordering mashed potatoes in prior years, and they tasted much better. We went for Father's day. The service was okay. Nothing stood out. He did a great job refilling drinks before having to ask. Food took over an hour (it was 2PM and the restaurant was half full) when the food came out, it was all cold. Service was slow. Waited 45 minutes before even being attended to and maybe another 20 min to even get our order taken. There wasn't a full house so I don't think we should have been waiting that long. Once we finally were able to order we waited about an hour or so before receiving our food to the table. The drink refills came out before the actual food. You can tell the manager was frustrated and completely disregarded when I told her we were unsatisfied. You can tell the plates had been under the heated lamps for a long time as the plates were hotter than the food, and the food was dried out. We ordered 2 simple adult entrees and 4 kids meals. Had a nice evening with my wife at Saltgrass. The food was very good. We started out with a salad, after having drinks delivered to the table. they did not rush us to finish our salads. Once we did finish the salads, It took about 15 minutes for them to get our meal to the table, which were steaks of which they were cooked to perfection. Now getting the ticket to check out is something different. It took about 10 to 15 minutes to get the bill once we were ready to leave. That's why I gave four stars. Otherwise a great place to go with a wonderful atmosphere and very nice surroundings. Saltgrass is for the whole family including children, although you might think of a babysitter, if you have babies to toddlers. One last thing, an incredibly delicious dessert menu that will knock your socks off. Hope you can make it out to Saltgrass. It's worth the trip. read more

Other than that, we waited over 30 min to get seated (they weren't even busy), the waiter brought out the wrong food for my husband, and we waited an additional 20 min to get his correct food. By the time his meal was ready we wanted to go home. Not to mention we both ordered our steaks MEDIUM WELL and this is how the steak came out for both of us. If you call yourself a steak house then you better have first-rate steaks - especially in Texas. I ordered a 6-ounce filet that was stringy and tough. The thickness of the cut was not consistent, so half the steak was medium rare and the other half rare. $28 dollars for a cut of meat that was lower quality than I could have gotten at HEB for $15. The manager blamed the problem on the supplier, and complained that I had eaten most of the food, but finally agreed to comp this dish after I indicated they would not get my repeat business.
