11/8/2025: Saltgrass Steak House is a great place to get multiple items and they're always spot on with consistency. If dining with a group, everyone can find something they enjoy. I like the Hickory Chicken. It's no longer on the menu, but if you ask they will make it for you. Typically, it needs to be a chef who has been there for a while to know how to make it. I ordered it the other night and it was spot on! It's a chicken breast covered in cheese, barbecue sauce, bacon, and mushrooms. I get mine with no onions. It is so good, I'm always surprised. They took it off the menu. The night we went, the waitress had already had two other people order it, so I know it's not just me. The service was great, the restaurant was clean, and I was thoroughly happy with my meal. The manager came over and checked on us twice. That's always a nice touch. Everything was running smoothly and we were very happy!

Came here with my mom and brother for dinner on a Sunday evening. We were greeted and seated right away, and there was a good amount of people dining. We skipped on the appetizers and enjoyed their complimentary bread and butter. As far as food goes, I went with the Cajun ribeye medium rare, potato soup, and Mac n cheese as my sides. The steak came out cooked perfectly for me, and the Mac was really tasty. The soup was solid as well but came out separately before the rest of the food. I'll specify that I want it all together next time. I ate up all my food and the steak was really good too. My mom ordered a chicken plate that she liked and really loved the potato soup. My brother ordered a regular Ribeye with mac n cheese and a salad and really loved his. He especially loved the mac but the steak as well. The ambiance was pretty calm considering how many people were there, which I liked. Our waitress Katherine did a great job serving us. Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that I was a little surprised by the pricing of the food, and yes I'm aware it's a steakhouse. I'd still definitely be back for a good dinner!

Food was pretty good. We stopped in for an early dinner and the restaurant was open pretty packed. We were seated in this cute little booth for two and ordered. I ordered the filet mignon with the seasoned green beans, 7/10. It was okay. They also brought their house seasoning which was pretty good. The green beans were great! The tortilla soup was mid. Very little flavor or seasoning, 4/10 My husband said his steak, (ribeye I think?) was okay, 6/10. Overall, we might be back.

The food was good the presentation was fair. A couple things were not available on the menu so I was a little disappointed. We had very good service for my waiter. I wish they would put TVs near the booth area.

Today 7/2 12:30pm We were greeted by a Hispanic female hostess with a long ponytail. Her attitude was as dry as breadcrumbs in a desert. It just wasn't with us, but everyone. I looked for a name tag, but she was wearing one. Shaun, our waiter was GREAT. He was kind and caring. He deserved the tip that we gave him. I am a Landry's member and a manager did not come out to acknowledge it.

Salt grass has several locations throughout Houston that I have visited This one is in the Cypress area. I have visited a couple of time with one of my friends as he comes a lot. The last time I had the hamburger steak, Mac and cheese and potato soup. All were prepared very well and very tasty. I also had one of their Tito's lemonade that was delicious. I think it will be my go to whenever I visit one.

Amazing experience, I love salt grass good ole country eating. The service was great, the Astros were on and the food was delicious. My steak was cooked to perfection and my wife's fish was amazing she said. Came here during restaurant week and it didn't disappoint don't miss out it's $40 for a 4 course meal!!

Best customer service experience ever. When I tell you they took good care of my family. It was my husband's 40th Birthday celebration and we had 40 plus people there and they catered to our every need. We will return for this service

As long as I've lived over here, I've never hit this Saltgrass up. Primarily visited the location in Willowbrook for lunch. But the crowd here is always bumping, I'll say that. The chicken laredo has always been my go to. It's so delicious, used to only be like 13 on the lunch/early dining menu...seriously not that long ago. Now it's no longer available for lunch and $21. Has the price of yard bird gone up that much? Anyway this visit was similar to my main location. Same vibe, service was standard. I choose a steak with brussel sprouts. Pretty good but the edges of the steak were over-charred.

I hadn't heard much about this place and considering it's really close to my house isn't usually a good thing. I decided to venture out and check it out. When you walk in, it definitely gives you the vibe of an upscale steak restaurant and the bar is pretty impressive. I went with my normal, a ribeye cooked medium rare. The food was amazing and the steak was one of the best steaks I have had in a long time. The flavor in this bad boy was pouring out with each cut. Our waiter was spot on and recommended a dessert to top off our meal. I wish I would have remembered his name because he was really good at his job. The food and drinks were delicious and so worth the price. I wish I had gone sooner and I will be back.

We got there during a busy dinner hour and the restaurant was half full. Initially everything was great. I was pushing him in a wheelchair and a young lady came to open the door for us. Then she disappeared. The hostess sat us by the entrance because there aren't any tables with big space for a wheelchair. She had to ask a male employee seemed to be a leader for approval. Not sure why there were so many lights and the restaurant was dark like a dungeon. I had a hard time seeing the menu. I ended up taking a picture and lightening it on my phone in order to read it. My friend already knew what to get. He seems to be a regular here. We ordered a strawberry lemonade for him and I got a cup of hot water. That water became a lifesaver. I called it holy water because my friend had to rinse the stained utensils in the cup. For me, I couldn't really see the dirty forks because it was too dark. They brought us a loaf of bread and a scoop of butter in a cup. I immediately looking for the utensils wrapped in a cloth napkin. There was a gigantic knife and 2 forks. I didn't see any butter knives. So, I cut the bread with steak knife and used it to spread butter. I really don't know how other customers would eat the bread. Because it's too dark in there. I ordered Lemon Garlic Chicken with Brussels Sprouts and mashed potatoes as sides. I guess the waitress had hearing problems. I got broccoli instead. I pointed at the menu especially said BRUSSELS not BROCCOLI. Hello? Do you need a hearing aid? I didn't complain because the chicken was f*cking salty as hell. So does the butter on the mashed potatoes. I think they trying to kill me. My friend seemed to like his dish. Except, he asked for a loaded potato and immediately changed to mashed potatoes. He got the big potato sitting in the plate and waitress rushed over to replace it with a mashed potato. He asked for steak sauce for his lamb chop. It was odd because it was Parmesan crusted already. I don't know if I would come back. Or, I'll order something that is easier to pronounce and with a big picture. And, I'll ask for steamed vegetables with butter on the side.

I'm not exaggerating...the average age in there had to be about 83. I guess the early bird special got all the senior citizens out there and asleep. On a Saturday night, the place was basically empty by 8:30pm. After eating there, I completely understand why. The French onion soup showed up looking promising, then immediately disappointed. Zero seasoning. No salt, no pepper, just... bland broth sadness. I ordered a T-bone steak, and I've genuinely seen bigger cuts at a grocery store. Not even a nice butcher, just your average supermarket. My steak was paper thin and butchered so poorly it looked like it went 12 rounds with Rocky Balboa. I paid an extra $5 for their "coffee seasoning," and I'm still trying to figure out if they forgot it or just waved it over the plate from across the kitchen. My wife ordered the surf and turf. $109 later, we got what might be the most overpriced plate I've ever seen: a tiny portion, two pieces of asparagus, and about a tablespoon of completely unseasoned mashed potatoes. The lobster tail? Cooked so long it should've come with a warning label. We left wondering how a steakhouse could miss this badly across the board. Save your money. Buy a steak from the grocery store. It'll be bigger, taste better, and you won't feel like you just funded a very slow, very bland experiment.

This restaurant definitely aims to please. I was being very specific about what I wanted for my ribeye steak tonight; waitress Jessie was awesome and listened carefully to my requests. And then to make sure that I was absolutely happy, she brought Chef Kenneth to the table to discuss what I was looking for. Kenneth returned from the kitchen with three beautiful-looking ribeye steaks and we discussed which one would give me the best dining experience. He does some of the butchering himself so he knew exactly what I was looking for. I ended up being served the most fabulous Wagyu steak I've had in a very long time. Unlike the other steaks that can have a seasoning on them, the Wagyu is just salt and pepper and then is served with a beautiful compound butter slathered all over it. They make that butter in-house and it has wine and shallots and bone marrow and other wonderful stuff. Trust me, it's amazing! I ordered extra on the side and poured that all over the top of the steak. Delicious!! Sometimes little things count and it was served with grilled onion that was tasty. I could have had a side of mashed potatoes or asparagus, but I decided to treat myself and try the mac-n-cheese instead. Half of that food was my lunch the next day, so I left enough room for dessert, where my choice was the apple pie bread pudding with cinnamon roll ice cream. That was nice and moist and I enjoyed it. Unfortunately, the food also fell short of expectations. In particular, I would not recommend the mussels. The flavor was unpleasant and left a very bad aftertaste, making them one of the least enjoyable dishes we ordered. Good customer service isn't just about enforcing rules--it's about how those rules are communicated. From the moment we entered, we were treated like special guests. The ambiance is rich, but not overdone or stuffy. Simply classic and relaxing. Our booth felt private and unhindered by conversations of nearby diners or wait staff bustling past. Our cocktails were perfect. The calimari we ordered as an appetizer was probably the most tender and delicious either of us have ever had. And when our burgers arrived, I was so happy. It was exactly what I had set my mind on when selecting my birthday dinner experience. The blend of brisket and chuck was absolutely delicious, set atop a perfectly buttered toasted bun, with some crispy onion straws on top. And the fries... oh my! I rarely if ever eat fried food - so clearly this was my big day to completely go off my standard fare, but those fries had the perfect crunch and flavor. Apparently, when my husband made our resv, he told them it was my birthday, so our server brought out a delightful complimentary spiced cake dessert after we were finished eating - for us to share. It was the perfect finish to an already amazing meal. Thank you to the entire staff at The Chefs Table yesterday, for helping to create a memorable and delicious birthday feast for my husband and me. We were seated in a booth that felt quite cramped for a business meeting. Next time, we'd likely request a more open, well-lit table. We ordered several dishes, but the Chilean sea bass was disappointing. It was dry, lacked the buttery texture it's known for, and was quite bland. We also requested a side of hot sauce, but that request was overlooked. To end the meal, we planned to order coffee and toffee instead of dessert. After waiting nearly 30 minutes, we were told the coffee machine had broken. Unfortunately, by then the server seemed eager to wrap things up and didn't really give us the opportunity to consider any other after-meal options. Overall, the restaurant has a nice atmosphere and we can see why it's popular, but the food execution and service fell short of our expectations, especially for a business lunch. We hope these issues were just an off day, as we'd like to give it another chance.

I cut into my fried egg expecting it to run all over my plate, but it seems like it was cooked somewhere between over medium and over hard. I was looking for tasting the hot honey, which appears to be under the dish as opposed to on top of it. I was looking forward to a soft fluffy biscuit, but it too was over hard. The Chicken was well cooked, a bit thin, and I'm not sure that the breading tasted anything more like Captain crunch than it did any other breading. However every time I cut into it the breading kind of just fell off into the gravy. The gravy and potatoes were redeeming, with good flavor gravy and well cooked potatoes. Overall, it wasn't bad, I ate it all, I just expected better for my $17.
