I wish there was a place like this in Arizona! I had just gone to my friend's funeral and wanted a delicious steak to help decompress. This place did not disappoint. Walking distance to my hotel, and the two gentlemen behind the bar were so good! The food was delicious, there was football on the TV and the service was impeccable! Will definitely be back next time I'm in the area!

Sorry, half eaten Chicken and Rice, I couldn't wait!

This location was one of the better locations for Salt Grass I have been to. Our greeting and service was very good. Emma was our server and overall she did a good job. The ambiance was typical Salt Grass. Animal heads, saws, etc. on the walls. The food was really good. The last few times I have tried other locations the food has been too salty. Today's meal was different. I will definitely come back to this location when I want Salt Grass again.

We found ourselves at Saltgrass for a late lunch over the weekend and found it didn't disappoint. We both started with the house salad. The portion was perfect so you didn't get full before your meal. I went with the Blackened Redfish with Brussels Sprouts as my side. The fish was cooked perfectly where the blackened spices weren't overwhelming and the shrimp, crab meat, and lemon butter complemented the flavor. The sprouts were flash(?) fried with good seasoning and a bit of a sauce. My husband enjoyed the Cajun Ribeye that also featured shrimp, crawfish, with tomatoes and lemon butter. The meat was prepared the way my husband had requested and had good flavor. He did broccoli as his side and was pleasantly surprised to have it steamed rather than drenched in butter. Our server was friendly and attentive. The ambiance is definitely a rustic western vibe. I shared with my husband it reminded me of Disney's Beauty and the Beast where Gaston has 'antlers in all of his decorating'!

2/22/2025 My spouse made a reservation weeks in advance for my 60th birthday. When we arrived, we were not on the reservation list ;( Turns out there are 2 Saltgrass Steakhouses in Plano. However, the host was very gracious and asked us to give her a minute to set up a spot for our large family of 8 adults and 2 grand kiddos. She put us in the back room, at a table, in the back corner, kind of away from everyone. So it was perfect with my balloons and birthday cake decorating the table! The best part was Jalen was our server. He was so polite, super patient and courteous from first introduction all the way through dinner, dessert and up until we paid our separate tabs. We never had to ask to refill our drinks. He never gave us a chance to ask for anything, he checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed and were happy at all times. And we are high maintenance, he is amazing!!! Saltgrass is one of my favorite restaurants. That's why I wanted my birthday celebration here. So it never disappoints, the foods always good, I've never had a bad rare steak or loaded baked potato here. I'm simple. But the family ordered a variety of entrees. We started with fried mushrooms, they were surprisingly spicy, but good. Spouse had ribs with fried shrimp, loved, grands had kids sirloin steak with fries, they ate every fry, of course, son had burger w truffle fries, he said the fries didn't have truffle, so he was disappointed he paid extra for basically regular fries, younger son had a ribeye with mashed potatoes, loved, daughter had a steak salad, she said it was good, my dil and I split a rare sirloin w loaded baked potato and it was delicious, as always... My homemade devil's food with chocolate ganache cake, that I baked for myself was super rich and delicious too, lol The sparkler candles and Saltgrass' $25 birthday discount were awesome extra bonuses!

I had better memories of Saltgrass when I visited during my younger years, but this time around was pretty disappointing. I had made a reservation for a group of 10, thinking that service would be quicker once we all arrived. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case as the time to get seated, order our drinks, get our drinks, order our food, and receive our food took about an hour... Now granted, the food and drinks were delicious so no complaints about the quality. But it looked like they were severely understaffed and it was hard to find our server for nearly anything. I probably won't be going back. There are many other sit-down restaurants to choose from that offer quicker service than Saltgrass.

When Steak and Ale abandoned me and it's loyal customers many asked "Who will fill the void"? The answer is; Saltgrass Steak House! For many years my family has enjoyed countless meals here. Every time has been special. The menu variety is diverse. Steak and shrimp are go to selections. Appetizers, warm bread, and bar choice's are noteworthy. The Texas themed decor and that southern hospitality can't disappoint. The staff and service are attentive and caring. The kitchen knows how to prepare a steak to your preference and includes the full menu. Looking for a fine dining experience that won't bust your budget? This is your place. See you there!

Came here today for the first time and for it being one of the busiest days of the year (as it was Father's Day), we were quite impressed by the service and how quickly we received our food! Our waiter was great and was so efficient especially with our large group. In regard to the food, the bread and butter we received at the beginning was amazing as well both appetizers which included the queso fresco with brisket and the tenderloin bites. The chicken tortilla soup was not the best in my opinion (2/5) and we also ordered the chopped steak which was okay (3/5). The onions and the mushrooms though that came with the steak though were AMAZING (4.5/5)! We did get the carrot cake for dessert as well which was similar to your average carrot cake, nothing special (3/5).

Betty waited on our table. She had such good energy and was super knowledgeable about the menu. I'd like to come back and request her specifically. My husband had the smoked shrimp and grits and I had the smoked fried chicken with lemon mashed potatoes and street corn. Both were excellent! I'm not in this area of Dallas often, but I will make it a point to come back. I forgot to mention my cocktail! I had the Honey Bourbon Limoncello and boy was it good. The highlight of the night was easily our server, truly one of the best I've ever had. Friendly, attentive, and on top of everything. If the review were based on service alone, it would be five stars. We started with the chicken nachos, which were fresh and actually pretty good. For entrees, we ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. Unfortunately, the chicken fried steak was very bland and tasted like it was missing seasoning altogether. The sides were okay, but nothing memorable. We also tried the rib plate with corn and mashed potatoes. Again, it was edible, but the flavors just didn't pop, everything felt like it needed more seasoning or a stronger profile to stand out. The staff was great across the board, but the food just didn't match the level of service. Not the worst experience, but definitely not the best food wise.

I love the layout of the inside. It's open concept so you can see the chef cooking the meat in the kitchen from the main dining room area. There's also a neat, well designed hand washing station in the hallway that leads to the restroom. Overall ambiance is good with sufficient seating, though on the smaller side. What's different about this restaurant is the variety of meat dishes they offer. I've eaten at plenty of Brazilian restaurants in the DFW metroplex, but never have I ever seen chicken hearts, brisket, beef ribs, ribeye, shrimp and so much more in the rotation. For the dinner to have been $55 with tax (& me ordering an espresso shot) for the high quality cuts I am super impressed and certainly recommend others to dine here vs the other more mainstream establishments that are always advertised. I also really enjoyed their salad/hot bar...though not the biggest, there was a nice selection of sides to choose from. All in all I really enjoyed the service & food here and definitely see myself returning soon.

We're regulars of EG Steak up in Plano/Frisco, and I found that a much more ideal experience. PROS: - Brazilian Lemonade was very good, I was left wanting for more - Shrimp was available as an option, which I find unique for a Brazilian steakhouse - I enjoyed the picanha and the garlic steak CONS: - The atmosphere of the place is simply less formal than desired for what you're paying. It feels a bit like your local Italian joint. Tables are close together, full light blasting, cheap tablecloths and incorrect labels on the stuff at the buffet - Most of the meat we got came to us lukewarm. I only got one piece of meat that was hot - Our service wasn't very great. We kept getting repeats of the same lower quality meats we didn't enjoy, kept getting repeatedly passed up by meats we did want despite our green table indicators and trying to get the guys' attention, and couldn't really get anyone to come to our table very often. - Some of the meats just weren't good. The chicken, for example, was salty and inedible. I also found the texture of the sirloin very, very tough. The lamb was relatively flavorless. - I don't know how much of this I can attribute to the restaurant themselves, but on a Friday night, this place was littered with kids and large families that weren't under control. Kids running around, listening to YouTube videos on full volume, etc literally right next to our table. - My partner noted that it was my birthday, having seen some of the reviews about this place making it a special occasion. It wasn't acknowledged, not even a "happy birthday" from any of the staff. Overall, for just $15 more per person and a half hour drive north, just go to EG by Stonebriar. Definitely a more elevated experience for the price point.

It was my first trip to downtown Plano which is a nice quaint strip of bars, restaurants, and shops that reminded me of any of the small one/two stop light towns around my home of NC, even though you're really surrounded by metro Dallas highways and city. The atmosphere, the food, the service, was perfection. I'll do my best to describe, but if I was creating a restaurant, I'd tell you to go here, and that is what I want. The restaurant itself is very nice, certainly upscale enough for a super nice date night, but also casual enough at lunch time for a business casual outfit. The area itself is relatively small and intimate, I'm going to guess 10 or less tables, and a spot for a few people at a small bar. Right beside the bar is the grill where you can see, hear, and smell the food being cooked! The owner was our waiter, and just like the rest, service was plenty formal yet also laid back. He did everything how you'd expect in a fine dining restaurant, but also was comfortable in a baseball cap and laid back fine with having a conversation. He was happy to tell us about the restaurant itself, the interior which he built out himself, and was enthusiastic about what he was serving and told us everything about the meat and sides. It was great seeing someone so proud and excited to tell his costumers about every aspect of it. He alone would make me want to be a regular visitor. But then there is the food! Perfection! All four of us ordered the Wagyu NY Strip, so he just told us he would serve it on a board with plenty of sides to fill us up. We didn't even have to tell him how we wanted the steak cooked, he said everything was cooked to 135 and it came out absolutely perfectly! Quality tasty meat, true wood flavor, it was what I normally have to cook myself at home to get! The sides were great as well, charred broccoli (which I'm a sucker for, marbles potatoes, fries, all wonderful! The menu is not huge, but I think that's perfect. Do what you do well and you don't need a multi page menu full of random dishes. BAR-Ranch knows what they are and they excel at it! It's not cheap, but personally I'd rather have one meal of exceptional quality over multiple cheaper meals that leave me feeling "meh that was fine". Personally I'll be back and can't wait for another opportunity to try it!
