Had rewards to use and decided to call in an order to-go. Ordered the grilled salmon and broccoli with a house salad. Order process was easy. They gave me an estimated time to pick up. Went to curbside. Called the restaurant. A server happened to finish with another guest and walked over to ask our name for the order and went back inside to check on it. They were very busy. Although it took an extra 30 minutes, during these pandemic times, it was ok. We learned patience and appreciation for those in the service industry and appreciate the food was cooked to perfection. I recently went to Saltgrass Steakhouse and enjoyed it. My filet mignon, while small, was tender, juicy, and delicious. The salad was crisp, fresh, and topped with tasty homemade croutons. The hot bread was so good. I would have liked the server to continue to bring us more loaves, but that is not a deal breaker. The only sub-par item I had was the baked potato. It simply wasn't cooked quite enough or at a high enough temperature, as it wasn't soft and creamy as a good baked potato should be. It was a bit hard. Our waiter, named Chicago, was helpful and took good care of us. I liked that the lunch menu was good until 5 or 6 PM. I will come again, though I probably won't get the baked potato again. read more

My steaks have always been perfectly cooked here and tonight was no exception. The loaded back potato was delicious and came with all the traditional, and delicious, toppings. My entree was also accompanied with a soup or salad which I upgraded to the wedge. It was a generous portion and delicious. Dinner tonight was ok, the Caesar salad was tasty. The steak and shrimp dinner, not so much! The steak, somewhat tender but not much taste. The shrimp tasted like it had barbecue sauce. Drink orders were taken and delivered as we chatted. Perusing the expansive menu, I settled on the Gulf Coast Steak & Shrimp, with fried shrimp and brussels sprouts. The steak was a grilled sirloin, and while it was serviceable, it was a little dry and not super tender. The shrimp fared a bit better, with a crispy coating and tender meat inside. The sprouts were a bit of a disappointment, needing more time under the broiler or in the oven. Wait was 30 minutes upon arrival, 5 tables in one area as we could see through glass area were empty and needed to be cleaned the entire time we have been waiting. After 45 minutes, we asked hosts who told us they had a party of 13 coming in and they were saving some tables for them. There were 5 tables(not to mention many many other empty tables across the restaurant)that seated 6 each so that's 30 people if I'm correct and even saving for 13 there were still plenty of tables available but no one even bothered to clean the tables that have been vacant for over 50 minutes as we continue to sit here waiting. We could have eaten and been gone by the time that party even arrives. Since we have been sitting for so long we have witnessed Multiple other customers walking out due to poor service even after they were seated. I usually LOVE Saltgrass but not on my last visit. Everything started out pretty well. It was going to be a 45 min wait and ended up being about 15-20. So we were pleased. We ordered drinks. Mine being the pineapple margarita (not sure if it has a different fancy name but basically that's what it was). The picture looks super cool and served with a pineapple... mine did not look cool and wasn't not served with a pineapple. So that was disappointing. The restaurant was super packed so we new it was going to be a long wait but we waited at least 45 min for our food and we had to wait a while to even order. On top of the wait my steak was over cooked. I asked for medium and got almost well done. The very middle (as seen in pic) was slightly pink but that was a very small portion of the steak. Since we waited so long the first time I didn't ask for a new steak. Our server was okay. I think he had more tables then he could handle and might have been new. We went here for our anniversary. We were leery due to the reviews but decided to give it a try anyway because people are always tagging themselves here and bragging about the drinks. We were disappointed in the entire meal with the exception of the Caesar salad. The steak was like warm and completely flavorless. I never ask for steak sauce at a steak house but I did this time. The steak was chewy and again..flavorless. There was no point in sending it back. The price is as okay for it but I just wish that I had a different experience. The waitress was polite and pretty consistent with filling up our waters and etc. The seer potato fries were good and hot. My salad was good but only had...maybe 3 pieces of cheese lol. Usually, I have a really good experience here. I will have to come back and re-write another review, but for this round, it wasn't as great. We came here for a friend's birthday, and first of all, the service was great. They were quick and attentive when we were low on bread and/or drinks. They were friendly and very helpful. We all really appreciated their service. However, one major issue and it was my order, the porterhouse. 2 issues: 1. It was not a true porterhouse, and 2. It was BLUE RARE when I asked for medium rare. I get it. Sometimes, a steak is a little more rare than one would want, and if it was just my steak, then I would brush this off. However, every person's steak was cooked rare. From sirloin to porterhouse to ribeye. I understand it was a birthday dinner, and perhaps they were trying to get us our food quickly. However, it is more important to cook the food the way a paying customer would like it. We already waited for a long time for our food to come out, and now we waited for a RARE steak? All of us? I never ask a restaurant to heat up my steak a little more (I would just suck it up), but I actually had to ask them to do that. The manager brought it out, apologized, and offered another side, so that was nice of him. Unfortunately, this brings me up to my other gripe which was porterhouse that I received was not a porterhouse. There was no "bone" to separate the 2 pieces. Everything about my experience was good, except they need to stop saying their soups are homemade. They taste like they are from the can and as much as I cook AND as much as I eat out, I know homemade soup when I taste it. We got the steak soup and it tasted like Campbells. I was in the area on business and this place was close. I forgot how good the food was in Texas and how big the portions are. Not to mention the hospitality is head and shoulders above the Boston area. My waiter greated me right away and took my drink order. Then he brought over this delicious loaf of beer bread. I ordered the Texas Cheesesteak and a wedge salad. The salad was great with blue cheese dressing plus crumbled blue cheese and bacon bits. I thought I was too stuffed to eat the sandwich when it came but boy was I wrong. The sandwich was excellent, the chunks of steak and cheese with bbq sauce was good, but the carmelized onions were fantastic. I normally don't get onions on my sandwich but I forgot to ask them for no onions. I was glad I forgot, because I ate every onion on that sandwich! The food here was delicious. The steak was juicy and cooked to everybody's liking. Pictures is the ribeye, porterhouse and sirloins. The appetizers and salads were great. I recommend the kale salad if you like blue cheese. For a steak place too, the prices weren't that bad. 16 oz ribeye for under $30. Drinks were alright. They tasted a little on the light side but I like my drinks usually stronger. Great first date place or if you want a really good family meal. Highly recommend it. read more

Saltgrass is always consistent and has good food for the price point. I enjoyed the Caesar salad, and my grilled chicken was cooked perfectly. It was flavorful and juicy. The shrimp was yummy, as well with a lemon butter sauce. My son's sirloin was a little over cooked, but it was flavored well. My husband enjoyed his filet, and the kabobs were good, too. We are Landry's Members and part of their perks is preferential check in, however, we got seated 1 hr and a half after our arrival. The staff leapt telling us that they had a table for us but that there is a pastry of 11 at the moment and half of them were up and the other half were still sitting down. They kept promising us that as soon as they leave we would get in that table. That table never left and when my husband got up to check with the hostess again, she suggested we go up to the bar and place an order of appetizers while they can try to find another table for us. We even suggested they split us if needed but she said no no that is fine I will try to find you a table for party of 9 and a high chair. We finally got to the bar and the hostess came back and asked us not to place the order that she was working on our table. We went back to the entrance and waited an additional 10minutes after she came and got us from the bar. Finally at 10:30pm we had our food delivered to our table and the waiter was nice and interactive. However, they brought the wrong order for me. Everyone else's was correct, except mine. So I did not even finish or enjoy my meal. We had just closed on the purchase of our new home so we were celebrating and that whole wait dilemma took all the enjoyment away. When my steak arrived the delivering server didn't ask me to cut into my steak to make sure it was cooked correctly. My server came by as I was still buttering my sweet potato. We visit your location a lot. We came in got seats and was completely ignored when we said we were ready to order the bald headed bartender just stared at us. My husband asked if he had any rewards and we were told yes $25. The queso has some nasty stringy so called brisket it. We askedf or bread 3 times before being acknowledged. We had to literally flag the bartender down for a drink. When we asked for the bill the credit wasn't on there. The manager came over and and said we supposedly didn't have one but we did.
