We are Landry's Members and part of their perks is preferential check in, however, we got seated 1 hr and a half after our arrival. The staff leapt telling us that they had a table for us but that there is a pastry of 11 at the moment and half of them were up and the other half were still sitting down. They kept promising us that as soon as they leave we would get in that table. That table never left and when my husband got up to check with the hostess again, she suggested we go up to the bar and place an order of appetizers while they can try to find another table for us. We even suggested they split us if needed but she said no no that is fine I will try to find you a table for party of 9 and a high chair. We finally got to the bar and the hostess came back and asked us not to place the order that she was working on our table. We went back to the entrance and waited an additional 10minutes after she came and got us from the bar. Finally at 10:30pm we had our food delivered to our table and the waiter was nice and interactive. However, they brought the wrong order for me. Everyone else's was correct, except mine. So I did not even finish or enjoy my meal. We had just closed on the purchase of our new home so we were celebrating and that whole wait dilemma took all the enjoyment away. We visit your location a lot. We came in got seats and was completely ignored when we said we were ready to order the bald headed bartender just stared at us. My husband asked if he had any rewards and we were told yes $25. The queso has some nasty stringy so called brisket it. We askedf or bread 3 times before being acknowledged. We had to literally flag the bartender down for a drink. When we asked for the bill the credit wasn't on there. The manager came over and and said we supposedly didn't have one but we did. Ordered online at their site for curbside pickup. I was at a hotel next door but it was going to take about 30 mins before my order would be ready. I sent a text at parking space #1 at 1:53 order was to be ready at 2:15. It was about 1:26 when I received my order after asking a waiter 1st that was delivering a meal order in space #3. Once I received my order the waiter took my card inside for payment I opened and tasted the potato. Told the waiter the potato wasn't hot but he definitely wasn't concerned. I was going to tip anyway but with the attitude I did not. So my curbside pickup became ~ take it inside and talk to the manager. The greeter told me he was in a meeting but no worries she'd have them make another. The manager finally came up but he thought I was waiting to be seated but I explained to him what happened and he went back to check on it and brought the potato out himself which was really nice. We decided to bring several of our out of country visitors to this chain, because we've always had a great experience. The celebration was a very important milestone to celebrate grandmother turning 90 years old. Unfortunately, we had a horrible experience that ruined the celebration. One of our guests ate a fried mushroom that had a long piece of metal wire from a scouring pad embedded in the mushroom. The guest swallowed part of the mushroom before realizing there was something there. He pulled the metal wire out of his throat which caused a small laceration to his throat. It was disgusting to even think of the number of dirty dishes from customers that scouring pad cleaned before it made its way into that piece of fried mushroom. Luckily, the wound did not get infected from the bacteria on the scouring pad. It ruined the meal for our table of 12, because we now had to worry about what surprises might've been inside whatever we ate. The manager came by 45 minutes after the ordeal and said corporate would be contacting us (which they never did - it's been more than a month). We felt that she didn't take the situation very seriously and ridiculed us for pointing out the metal wire in the fried mushroom. We will definitely NOT be recommending this restaurant to any of our friends, bringing guests here, or eating here ever again. read more

They have a cozy fireplace, it's clean and has a lively atmosphere but not overwhelming. They also take reservations! I like how they bring a carafe of water/tea to the table so I don't have to wait for the server to see my empty glass. Meals came and my Baby Back Ribs were fine but nothing like I cook at home on my own smoker. Probably oven baked. My wife had a ribeye ordered medium and I guess technically it was but very dry and more medium well. Not enough to return but she didn't eat the ends. I have been coming to this SALTGRASS for 17 years but I just had my last visit. Apparently they have sunk to the level of moronic. They have 3 types of butter (Garlic butter which comes on the steak. Apple butter which goes with the steak and potato butter which comes on the baked potato). Two visits ago I ordered my steak and potato with extra butter on the potato. They brought the potato with the extra butter on the side. I put it on the potato and noticed it was sweet. They had brought me apple butter to put on my potato. I explained to them that it was wrong and they brought me another potato with apple butter on the side. I tasted it this time before putting it on the potato. Again it was apple butter. I explained to them that it was the wrong butter. So they brought me garlic butter this time. I explained this is the butter for the steaks. The waiter could not understand why his butter was wrong and acted like I was nuts. He took the meal off of my bill Tonight I went in and the same exact thing happened again. Only this time it was the manager who brought garlic butter two times in a row after the waitress brought apple butter twice. I have yet not been able to eat a baked potato at SALTGRASS in the two times I have been there. Only this time he made absolutely no restitution for their lack of customer service and basically turning my relaxing dinner into the frustration dinner from hell. I will not return ever again to this restaurant and it saddens me as we have been going there since my daughter was 4 years old. She is 21 now. I was in the service industry myself for 20 years and 2 years at saltgrass steak house and over 6 years with Landrys restaurants. The experience started off by walking in telling the server at the front that we had 4 in the party, server im assuming was the closer for that shift tells the other server that was working with him that we would be going to his section and the server immediately was like no I think its your turn just wait I think I'm cut. The closing server took us to the section anyway and it was down hill from there. The server was OBVIOUSLY ANNOYED that he had to serve another table before he could get off. He greeted us with a " what do yall wanna drink?" When he returned with the bread and drinks he said "yall ready" with which we replied that we needed a few more mins. He then waited 2 mins and came back we gave him the order and he audibly grumbled and sighed... later our salads were delivered and he just says who wants pepper and rushed off. When the bill came he didn't even allow us to look at the bill he handed my uncle the bill and snatched it from him before he was able to see anything and we we are Landrys members. After we paid he grabbed his signed cc receipt before we had time to get up from our seats...we didn't dilly dally either we signed it and got up but he couldn't give us 30 seconds to get up from the table before snatching the receipt. Brought my entire family of 5 here on Christmas Eve, and the steaks were so TOUGH we couldn't eat them. Dad and I first ordered 12 Oz ribeyes, and neither of us could chew even the very first bite. The steaks were thin and very tough, with those fake perfect grill marks on them. Brother-in-law had a prime rib, and he only ate about half of it - - tough and no flavor. We sent the ribeyes back and ordered filets, which weren't much better. Even the filets were tough, and had absolutely no flavor. And again, the fake painted-on grill marks. My family was pretty shocked; Saltgrass used to be a pretty reliable standby for us for steaks, potatoes and salads - - although we haven't been to one in over a year. Wow, have things changed. Dad and I agreed that we've had much better steaks at Outback Steakhouse - - and that's a pretty low bar. Scratch Saltgrass; we will never be back. Courtney was on track to be our friend for the night. Ordered a the big beer and my wife had a glass of wine; and the fried mushrooms. Both came out quickly and we ordered the fried mushroom appetizer. The mushrooms came out about the same time as the complementary small loaf bread.... These mushrooms were nicely seasoned and lightly breaded, with a side of ranch. Good start. I enjoyed a house salad - very tasty mix of iceberg, carrots and radish. Next came the CFS, as big as the plate, with a side of gravy, again nice mix of seasoned breading with a tender steak; the steak itself outside of the breading was not seasoned very well; so I found myself using lots of salt and pepper to compensate. The potatoes are very well seasoned with a hint of garlic, but not as thick as like. So good overall good meal, good service for the price. I will be back. read more

I give only 2 stars for that place because I liked the food and the atmosphere, but... When I visited it first time (02/09/2019) I had a $150 gift card. We came with a relative from abroad and since we paid for dinner ($113.62) from the gift card, the relative left $20 cash tip. We got our gift card back with manager's writing of the remaining balance of $36.38. When we came to the restaurant for the second time, we planned to use with gift card balance ($36.38) in addition to credit card. But, it turned out that the gift card balance became $16.38 only for some reason. That means on our previous visit someone took $20 cash tip plus used the gift card for tips. We called the manager and he agreed there is a problem and it needs to be investigated, but he did not have full system access and promised us the owner will call us within 2 days to clear out the situation. So, we used only $16.38 from gift card and the rest paid with credit card. Unfortunately the owner never called and we did not hear from that place anymore. It's cheese dip with brisket, pico & Jalepano. Very delicious. Entree wise I had the surf & turf - a 10 oz Ribeye with shrimp. I chose bacon wrapped shrimp. I could not eat it all and enjoyed every bite. Francesco, our waiter, was fast and friendly. Very knowledge or menu and provide great service. If you want to go somewhere that meets your stereotypical expectations of a Texas restaurant, this is where you go :) There were horns on the chandeliers and Texas paraphernalia all over the walls. Our server was so friendly and joined us in converstaions, telling us about Texas and the food at the restaurant. We had margaritas and beer and yummy bread to start. I'm not a steak person, but those around me all had different beef dishes and cleared their plates. I had shrimp and it was delicious!! Due to this, I dropped my review from 2 to 1 stars. Seriously, don't eat here. Eating at Saltgrass used to be an experience. Now, it's just another chain restaurant. My fiance used to work here 11 years ago while in college and he said the quality of the food and the service has diminished to the point that we won't return. Our server was friendly but not personable. There are only four beers on tap, and two of those are Budlight/Miller Light. I ordered the chicken fried chicken with steak fries and baked potato soup. My fiance ordered the rib and shrimp combo with steak fries and a wedge salad. The soup and the salad were the only good parts about the meal. First of all, I got chicken fried steak (not chicken). I don't like being that person so I ate it. It was average at best seeing as the steak and the skin were two completely separate entities. The steak fries had absolutely no flavor. I was just eating chunks of potato. Even coated in salt, pepper and gravy, there was no flavor. My fiance's shrimp were way overcooked. The ribs were incredibly fatty with not much flavor. His steak fries were just as bad as mine, flavorless hunk of potato with pieces of skin wedged between the hunks of potato. Overall we are really disappointed and will not be returning. read more
