This was a disappointing evening. My friend and I have always enjoyed dining at Saltgrass, and our waiter, Mr. Chris, seemed like a very nice person. Unfortunately, he didn't check in on us throughout the meal, and we had to ask other waitstaff for assistance. To make matters worse, the food was cold. When we brought it to the manager's attention, she didn't offer any solutions or try to resolve the issue. I hope they can learn from this experience and improve moving forward. read more

Had my sons 20th birthday dinner there and the steak was awesome and the waiter Chris was very nice and attentive to our needs and took care of everything along with the staff and they gave him a free cheesecake for his birthday and they basically cater to our family while were there and made a great impression on us. Pretty bad. We were there for Mother's Day. There 7 of us including a child. I jokingly asked the waitress if I could have 2 glasses of sweet tea because I was very thirsty. She asked if I would like her to bring a carafe. I said that was a great idea! Well, she brought me the carafe and no glass. Like I'm supposed to drink it like that. Then they brought out my mother in law's food and she had potatoes instead of the fried onions she ordered. Then my sister in law's steak was rare when she had ordered medium rare. And the icing on the cake? Well, my husband put his card in the folder with the receipt and handed it back to the waitress. She was gone a couple of minutes and then asked him if he had given her cash or a card. Basically she lost our bank card. The whole family was searching everywhere. Went by the kiosk where they check us out. For about 10 minutes this went on. Then suddenly she found it... Where everyone had already been looking. We had to turn the card off after we paid and now have to get a new bank card. Something shady was going on. And did the managers ever come by and say they were sorry? For having us all scared that someone had stolen it and we had no other way to pay. Not one word from the managers. Not even a small gift card for the trouble WE had to go through. Just had the worst service and dining experience. Not that I expected much from Saltgrass. This most definitely isn't my go to steakhouse. I came to this location to bring my mom and nephews to lunch. It took 10- 15 minutes to get their soft drinks and half an hour to get my drink from the bar. Mind you there are only a total of five tables in the whole restaurant,two that came in after us. The other two tables received their food before ours as. I literally watched our food sit at the window in the back for a good 15 minutes. Out server Jesus neglected us while he sat chitchatting with the table catty corner to us. Never once did he apologize for the drink that came half an hour later and the cold mashed potatoes that were brought to the table. I asked to speak to a manager, she came over and almost instantly said she'll talk to her other manager to see what she can do. At that point in time I told her that I did not want her to do anything but wanted her to be aware of their service and the disconnect from the kitchen bar and server. Most definitely will never eat at another Saltgrass . I haven't had saltgrass in three years and definitely do not plan on having it for another six years or more if it's requested by someone again, at this point if they're still even around. I am a business owner and I felt like we were treated poorly and neglected. I will definitely use this experience as a topic at my next meeting with my employees. On what not to do!!! read more

This is the second time my wife, son, and I have eaten here in the past two weeks. Why the two stars - 5 stars for service and one stars for the food. Both of our steak's tasted like artificial smoke flavoring that was cooked over gas. Neither of us finished them. The salad and bread are always good and the reason we cam3 back. However, they are going to lose their business if they don't improve the quality of their steaks - after all it is a steakhouse!doubt we will be back for a good long time. Service is great.. selection is great.. visit during weekday lunchtime ... No lunch specials during the weekend.. which makes this Sunday visit pricey if your coming for a reasonable steak lunch... The chicken fried steak was a little chewy and greasy... but ok... The grilled bacon chicken sandwich was spot on, the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich was spot on .. only issue was jalapenos in the Cole slaw .. again, if the lunch menu was available on weekends we all would have had the Pats ribeye. The Maudeen Filet is the steak to order there and the bake potato is always good. Depending on who you get, the Bar service is Mid. Always a packed house on week nights and weekends. Well traveling back into town and decided on the way home from the airport to stop and get a steak salad. With about 12 people in the restaurant you would have thought a salad would take just a short period of time to make! Well you would be wrong took about 25 mins. I also noticed a surcharge listed on the receipt for $0.90, when I inquired about the charge I was told it was implemented during the pandemic for take out cost. Known for its great food and steak I went and tried the chicken fried steak and enjoyed it on the special menu that offers specials at a lower price from 4-6pm Monday to Friday. While I thought I had lost of a lot of hope on the Landry's eatery network chain, they at least have one that has brought forth some redemption. Was a 25-30 minute wait on a Friday and honestly I am surprised on how well they stuck to their time estimation. I have to say this place accommodates all ranges of party sizes quite well; there was a bridal party gathering in the room situated off of the bar location. I am impressed on how they divided their restaurant in order to be able to section off such gatherings, the use of large windows still allows the establishment to look spacious and open, but ultimately allows that seclusion and separation for large parties. After being seated we were quickly approached by our first server? Our assigned server was in the weeds and actually ushered another fellow server for help (that is service!). She even continued to apologize for not being the initial greeter of our table, but all things aside we were well taken care of from start to finish. You start out with your ice breaker item, BREAD! I could probably sit and eat a few loaves of this bread and I don't even care if its boxed and delivered in large quantities pre-cooked and just needing warming, its delicious. Fried Mushrooms - these were not your puny sized mushrooms at all, very plump and meaty. Perfectly fried, not overly breaded or dusted with parmesan. So I'm the girl that goes to a steak house and orders....chicken, let me just state that now. Chicken Austin (per menu:Chicken breast stuffed with artichoke hearts & creamy spinach, topped with sundried tomatoes & lemon butter.) was delicious. While I wished for more of the "stuffed" greens and reds (the sundried tomatoes were very sparse), it was the perfect size portion. The lemon butter was not over powering at all, oh thank goodness to that as I have had some horrible experiences with "lemon" sauces. The chicken entrée also comes with a House salad/Caesar salad and a side. The house salad was impressive, fresh, great tasting Italian dressing, and rather larger than I'm used to. And my side, oh how I love me a baked sweet potato, even better a massively baked to perfection sweet potato with melted butter in ever bite (these really are a dessert to me!) Great service, food, and overall experience (BTW did a to go order before we left as payment for our babysitters, food is the best payment 95% of the time, and it was relatively fast with our server throwing in extra condiments and bread!) read more

Probably one of the worst servers we ever had in our life. Context: - We scheduled an online reservations at 1pm for a Friday night at 6:15pm for a birthday party of 6 adults, confirmed it via text and email - A member of our party (who was paying) was a VIP member and gave their card to the waiter as soon as we sat down. After that, the manager came out and shook our VIPs (who is also a vet) hand and thank him for coming in. Situation - We arrived early and they couldn't find our reservation and made us wait for 10 minutes. Not too bad, but a little surprising. - When we sat down the waiter refused to list off any drinks. Not even soft drinks. We even asked twice "where are the drinks on the menu?" and he ignored us. It was super weird. One of us asked "is there any specialty drinks you recommended?" And he answered back "no." That's it. Just no. - He never asked us about apps or if we wanted to start with anything - When I was in the middle of eating my salad he cleared the table, starting with my salad. Never asked if he could clear my food, just took it away. I literally had just taken a bite and was still chewing as he whisked away my plate. - At the end of the dinner, we asked if we could get a birthday cake or something small because we were celebrating a birthday (we even indicated it on the reservation when we booked) and he told us rudely no. He said i wasn't a member. We reminded him that we have a member at our table, but the waiter goes on to blame the CEO of Landrys for not allowing them to give out free birthday cake or ice cream. We finally got fed up and flagged down the manager who was nice and made the waiter bring me out a slice of chocolate birthday cake. Our waiter, Russell, was exceptional !! He was attentive and very nice. He even thanked us for coming to the restaurant. The salads were cold and fresh. The steaks were cooked perfectly. The baked potatoes were fresh and hot. The bread was also very fresh. And, the only two exceptions to this was the ribs tasted over cooked and not fresh and the Cognac sauce was not good. We have been Landry Select Members for years. Three weeks ago we went here for dinner. Waitress drops the beverage napkin on floor picks it up and puts it on our table in front of me, then looks directly at me like she has no clue. I removed it and looked at my spouse across the table in disbelief. Extra long 3" fingernails she had trouble writing our order. Sodas arrived w no ice, had to get up and walk over to the bar to get glasses of ice. Salads arrived warm, salad dressing warm, had to request fresh dressing. Pats ribeye was cold and coated heavy in some kind of red seasoning, salty and really HEAVY, sweet potato was raw and hard inside. Had I not went to the restroom before I left I prob would have pooped my pants. Got home with worst stomach pain and nausea that lasted two days. Said I would never go back. Fast forward. Spouse wanted a steak salad. Agreed to give it one more try. Ordered a wedge salad, arrived so old and warm, the dressing had hardened onto the plate. Told waiter and manager brings out a fresh salad and apologizes. Entrees arrive salty grisley and food was coated again w the red seasoning? Didn't eat much. Acid reflux and upset stomach last night. The food and overall service wasn't bad but the general manager himself was the problem. My wife been dining there for years with family and friends. We never were asked for ID to validate our rewards points. Prior to coming to our table he made several stops to other customers table but didn't ask for their ID'S. We came back to this location for New Year's Eve and once again food was DELICIOUS. But most importantly, MIGUEL our server was AMAZING! Our family had food delivered here from Grub Hub. The order for 3 people was close to 100$. They totally forgot my son's rack of ribs. I called them and after being left on hold for 19 mins, was told, go through Grub Hub. I've already paid for the meal, so the restaurant has also been paid. I literally live 5 mins from this place and would have gladly run and picked up my son's dinner. Their response was "grub hub will refund you and then you can reorder". Funny, it doesn't work that way. For me to reorder, I'd have to pay all the fees and delivery again. I'm super disappointed in their level of customer service. Even an apology would have been nice, or some sort of resolution. We order Grub hub 3 times a week, and won't be ordering from Saltgrass again. I'd never been to Saltgrass before weird right? Well most likely will not return. Server Elijah was great but as I say in most negative Yelp reviews, you can't eat SERVICE. Appetizers and drinks are not the subject at hand and were mediocre, par for a chain. HOWEVER when the name of an establishment has "steakhouse" in it I expect them to cook a steak as ordered. There were 4 of us, 2 had steak. One steak ordered well done was a couple notches past well done and approaching charcoal. The other steak was ordered medium. That one was raw. Not medium rare, and NOT MEDIUM. Most of the steak was pink, soft, and cold raw meat. I don't send food back. (I've seen Servers). Will not return. If I want to pay for an over priced poorly cooked steak, I'll just buy some dry aged Waigu or Kobe and let my 8 yr old take a shot at the grill. Couldn't be worse right? read more
