My AC unit was up for routine maintenance and I decided to reach out for service. My request was made through the Home Depot website. Within minutes of submitting my request for service I received a call from Same Day Heating and AC. I was able to schedule an appointment for the next day. Service technician Rick called me 30 minutes prior to arriving at my home. Upon arrival, Rick was courteous and ready to get to work. Rick was thorough during his inspection of our AC unit and furnace. He showed me and explained all of the parts involved in the unit and also provided me with diagnostic numbers that AC units require in order to function properly. He made his recommendation for the replacement of two parts and did not pressure me into making such decision right there and then. I decided to approve the replacement of the parts. Rick completed his service visit within 90 minutes of arrival. Rick used shoe covers when entering our home and kept his distance as well. FOR THE RECORD, I have never lived in San Francisco, CA. Home Depot recommended this company, by offering a $29.00 water heater service, and a $29,00 Heating & Air service. However, when you call, you are also offered a $14.99 per month full home service contract. Today, I had an appointment between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM. The previous day I was sent a text confirming the appointment. However, at 8:30 AM I was informed that the plumber "assigned" called in sick. They then offered me an appointment for Wednesday next week (6 days in the future). I told them to cancel my appointment and their service contract, at $ 14.99 per month. You would think that a "Same Day" company would have a "Same Day" plumber available for missed appointments. THIS COMPANY IS NOT A SAME-DAY SERVICE and their advertising is VERY MISLEADING! Decided to go with this company for a mini split install. The initial rep, Bill, was helpful and the actual install was a smooth experience. Just know that if they need to do repair on drywall they cut out during install, it will take longer than they tell you. we had open holes in our walls and ceiling for 9 days even though install took 1. We were told it would be taken care of within 3. The person in charge of scheduling, (Betsy?), is just unresponsive or terrible with communication. We had to reach out a few times and were given inaccurate timelines or just no call back. It will definitely take longer to get the repairs done than they tell you. I scheduled and confirmed an appointment for a technician to come to my home to provide an estimate for a heat pump. The time window was 3-5pm. At 4:30. when no one had arrived I called to make sure someone was going to show up and was told that they had tried to call me to rescheduLe (which was not true-no calls were received or appeared on my incoming phone log) and that no, no one was coming here today. Then they had the gaul to ask me if I wanted to reschedule. Basically it was a no show, no call. If you want to be treated like this by all means give this unprofessional company a try. By the way, they were referred by Angi who when told about this refused to do anything substantive about it. Angi said they would "document it". Companies like this should be removed from Angi. Edit: see response from the GM. He asked me to call him to discuss this. We will see if he really wants to hear from me. Second edit: both the GM and the manager contacted me and offered to "make it right" by providing a no cost service for my inconvenience. While this does not excuse the "no call, no show" on the day of my appointment at least they made an effort to compensate me for what happened. Same day came to do an AC tune up. Both units were working before they came. When they left, only one was working. During the visit they blew a fuse in the blower board and did not bother to replace it, even though the technician admitted it was his fault. He also told me I needed a $1400 repair. When I said the unit was under manufacturer warranty they told me the problem would not be in the coverage. Eventually the cost dropped to about $400 because some of the other elements in the initial proposal were not really needed. Not surprisingly, I had somebody else come to see the system. Do not sign up for the Home Shield service unless you are ready to be disappointed on every visit. I did and every visit has been a disappointment. I had a heater service appointment scheduled for a time between 11:00 and 1:00. At 1:00 I the service tech was not at my house, and I had received no call from the technician. I called the office and was told that the technician was running late. Slow forward to 2:30 and finally the technician showed up at my house. After the "service" I was told that there was a small build up a dirt in my blower and it required a $400 service to be cleaned. This is now at 4:00. I declined the service on my 1-year-old system and the technician left. My wife and I then went to dinner. On our way to dinner, I received a call from the tech and he said he left his iPad in my house. We turned around and came home so the tech could retrieve his iPad. After arriving home there was no iPad in our house and my Ring cam footage showed the tech leaving with his I pad. We help the tech look in his truck and, on our street, but we could not find the iPad. So not only had I spent 5 hours waiting and undergoing service now our diner and evening were ruined. A month later I was scheduled for an AC service as part of the Home Shield service. I was scheduled for an 8:00 to 10:00 appointment. I was sent an email the day before to confirm the appointment and I did. On the day of service again at the end of the scheduled appointment time the tech was not at my house. I called the office and was told that it was too cold to do an AC service. I asked why I wasn't notified that the service was cancelled, and they said they didn't have my cell phone number. The said they called my house and wife's number, but something went wrong and for some reason they couldn't leave a message, send a text or send an email telling me it was cancelled. Another day wasted for "Same Day Disappointment Heating and Cooling. So now I realized that I am paying a monthly fee for "Home Shield" so that I can waste my days and ruin my evenings waiting for questionable customer service and service visits that are really just up sale visits. I scheduled an annual inspection of my A/C system with Same Day Heating Cooling, Plumbing through Home Depots Same Day Home Shield program for September 9th. After scheduling the visit I did receive texts reminding me of the upcoming visit. The day of, the technician, Jesse Puga arrived at my home within the promised 2 hour window. He was dressed in his company uniform wearing his ID. The annual inspection took approximately 1 hour after which he explained all that he did and answered all of my questions. He did suggest that I consider installing surge protectors on my A/C system to which I did consider and that is another story. A great story! Thermostat wasn't working after coming home from work. Did some troubleshooting, but wasn't comfortable with what I found. Gave Same Day a call at night and had an appointment the next day! What i found efficient was they inform you that someone is coming to your address and send a picture of the person who is coming! I met Adrian who broke the bad news first. My system was ancient, almost 30 years old. I had to bite my tongue because I felt like I was getting "upselled", but he kept it honest with me. The furnace is old...you are going to spend 3,000 dollars on something that may break again. I would recommend a new system. He also show me pictures he took of what he was talking about. He could sense that I wasn't too happy so he recommend i talk to Michael who is the designer (forgive me, forgot the title). He said that if i dont like what michael has to say, i will come back and do the job you requested.I chose to listen to him. Michael was 15 mins away and came through! One thing I will not stop talking about is the absolute professionalism from this team and how efficient they are! Showed up when they are supposed to and when they say they will. Michael came into my house and put "booties" on which I haven't seen before....each time he came in and out of the house. I was open minded when he started to talk to me becauee I still thought I may be getting unsold, but he was honest and told me how it is. I didnt like the price, but discussed several plans that made me extremely happy and comfortable. Very knowledgeable about the programs at same day answered all the questions on the spot and knew the equipment. He even simplified the terms used in the trade so I understood...instead of just getting through the plans. It was an awesome experience. Finally, I got the installers who were also efficient, punctual, and professional! Had the door open for him to come inspect Moises and axel. About 2 months or less ago, we reached out to 'Same Day Heating & Air Conditioning' to install a heating and air system after finding out the price to fix our current one was almost the same as a completely new installation. My Husband shared we received a great quote... I trust him on that! The team consisted of Jeff, Chapo, Jamie and Hector. Within two visits (2 days) we had our new Nest heating and air system. They men were professional, and worked quick in my opinion. A few days later we did have an issue with the Nest not shutting off. I will be requesting him on any and every visit that same day air-conditioning makes to my home. So the company same day heating and air-conditioning, it clearly knows how to hire outstanding technicians. However, as I write it claims to be the fastest growing company of its kind in San Diego. This is not necessarily a benefit to customers, as bigger is not always better. For example, on the very day it was originally supposed to occur, I did have planned, scheduled appointment Canceled, after which I rescheduled a month later. The reason for cancellation given by the same day heating and air conditioning was a shortage of technicians on the day the appointment was originally scheduled. Consumers should know that same day heating and air conditioning will text or call customers asking for confirmation of an appointment scheduled for the next day. We consumers are told that If a customer fails to confirm it, the appointment will be canceled. So it might be wise to call and verify that an upcoming appointment has in fact been confirmed. In sum, Justin Miller at same day heating and air-conditioning is an outstanding and knowledgeable expert in the field. Ask for him and Get him if you can. However, although in principle a great company, possibly due to rapid growth, customers should be aware that same day heating and air-conditioning appears to have some draconian cancellation and rescheduling policies and practices. And Would not give any clear info, and decided to LIE about a safety issue leaving tenants in the home without A/C for days. His sole purpose was to try and upsell a $20K brand new system for a small home 1500 sq foot home. Long story short and after having an honest company reevaluating the problem. It was determined to be a clogged condenser line and was an easy repair with no safety issue. They neglected to find that it was just the control board in one that had burned up and there was a slow leak that needed repair and Freon. The other air conditioner has nothing wrong with it at all. Went with an independent company and the total cost for the installation and repair was under $700. I believe that Same Day intended to scam me from start to finish. I did some research and decided to have a heat pump unit installed since I wouldn't be able to endure the summer heat every year anymore. I got in touch with Steven at Same Day to get a system sized for my home. This was a big job which included duct work for the entire home and a unit installed in the attic and the side of the house. Steven was very patient to review and answer any questions that my wife and I had. On the start day of the job, I was greeted by Jamie and Jeff, who were highly professional and courteous. They were thorough in reviewing the planned work throughout the house prior to starting, and made sure to answer any additional questions that I had. As the work progressed, they pointed out any important details in the installation along the way. At the end, the installation looked clean and awesome, though I'm no HVAC expert by any means. To provide another perspective, I have some remodeling work starting in another part of the house now, and my contractor took a look, was very impressed at what he saw, and commented on how professional and clean the job was done. I now have a new system that will help me get through the summer heat and the occasional winter chills. I'm amazed with how quickly it starts up and runs super quiet. I scheduled an appointment for an estimate on a new AC Unit (a heat pump), on the day they were scheduled to come they called to cancel the appointment. They said I lived in a 4 story building and they didn't do anything over 3 stories. I told them I was in a 3 story building, but they said they counted the garage, which I said was an underground garage, so there was only 3 stories above ground. She said that didn't matter and they were cancelling the appointment. I had never heard of this, and as if that wasn't weird enough, I have a friend that lives in this very same condo building and last year they came out and gave them an estimate and even made severe follow-up calls to try and get them to give them the job??? The technician came out and informed me the heat exchanger was bad and needed to be replaced. The estimate was $4,800. I thought that was crazy. A brand new furnace is $1520 and $139.99 for the propane kit. And that's for a higher, 96%, efficiency furnace. Charging three times the price of a new better furnace just to replace a heat exchanger is disreputable. I got a second opinion from someone local. He said the reason the heat exchanger was overheating was there were too many vents closed! Don't trust these people. The heater works fine now the vents are open read more
