I'll be honest here, I kind of wanted to hate this place ever since I almost went a few months back but changed my mind when I saw six people wearing fedoras at a table and wanted nothing to do with that, but here we are, months later giving this place another real shot. My wife and I stopped here a few weekends back for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised with just how much I enjoyed the food. The ambiance here is pretty generic, white and bright and very copy and paste of a lot of places popping up recently. The staff was super friendly while taking our orders and dropping the food off, which is always appreciated. I ended up ordering the Santo's Turkey Melt which is smoked turkey, grilled onions, Swiss cheese, and chipotle aioli served on sourdough with a side of french fries. The sandwich was really good and the same can be said for the french fries and I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of fries given, so thumbs up to that. I forgot what the food costs so I visited the website and for some reason they don't think it's important to put that online, which is pretty darn stupid if you ask me. Overall, I didn't have a bad experience at Sandcouch Cafe and I would visit again in the future thanks to it's convenient location. The food was solid and the staff was friendly, and that's really all I need when ordering a sandwich.

it's a very cute venue with very nice Instagram pictures, although some section of the place looked kinda odd with the positioning plants. It was terrible that today I saw a sign of the restroom cannot be used, which is really outrageous. But this review is just on the food. And for that, it is really five star. It was very well made for the eye and the taste. Service is very friendly and fast and they'll bring your food out to you. There is a nice condiment area so you can help yourself to anything. The seating area is very comfortable and I see some people sitting there pretty much for hours working. It's a very peaceful spot and good food & coffee. What more can you ask for in downtown. It's right across a macaroon place so I can see it doing really well.

What an absolutely amazing place to stumble upon! I've been three times in the past two days. So why four stars and not five? Yikes, when you add milk to the tea, it becomes an $8.15 tea. That's... a bit much. I'll pay for quality loose leaf, but.. almost a tenner? Have also come for lunch; hubby had one of the avocado breakfast burritos and devoured it so quickly. I opted for the Club wrap - the bacon had an amazing flavor to it, which really made the wrap pop (a little bit of spice). The decor is super cute and the overall restaurant is very clean. High marks for that. Don't come if you're on a budget, but if you're OK with splurging a bit, I highly recommend! 2026: 16/100

I have ordered dine in, to go, and delivery. Food is always delicious, prepared and packaged great. My favorite thing on the menu is the avocado bacon croissant sandwich. Make sure to order it with a side of chipotle aioli sooooo good! Parking sucks but you'll find street parking and parking garage across the street if you are dining in.

I was looking for a place to have lunch in DTLA and came across Sandcouch Cafe. First impression was there were lots of people dining here and almost every table was taken and a bit loud too. I walked to the counter to place my order with the friendly lady at the order counter. I ordered a blueberry matcha and a prosciutto with arugula and fig jam. I looked around to see where I could grab a seat but only found a seat at the counter bar area. I went to sit down and shortly after my matcha was ready. Their menu said they buy their matcha from Japan so you know you are getting quality matcha. It was delicious. About 7 minutes later my sandwich was ready and a nice gentleman brought it to me. I was pleasantly surprised after my first bite. The bread tasted like it was made in house and super soft and fresh. All of the indents paired really well together and tasted so good. The fig jam gave the sandwich a little sweetness but not overly sweet. I will definitely come back and try other items from their menu when I'm in the area.

Ive only been here once so take that as it is. Ordered a Machata burrito and a mocha. When I was reading the menu, I noticed all their breakfast burritos had tater tots. A yellow flag went off in my head, as that is prime, cheap filler material. As I waited for my food, I noticed 2 separate tables that were emptied, both had food that was %75 uneaten... not a good sign. One had a chorizo burrito that had 3 bites and the rest remaining, the other had 3 pancakes with only half of 1 eaten. Once I got my burrito and looked inside, I realized that the burrito should have been named the Tater Tot burrito. %80 microwaved tater tots. See pic, no joke. This cost $20 with tax and tips? Wholesale you can buy a 2lb bag of frozen taters for $1.95. Way to make a profit!! Shareholders will be happy. Check out the generous egg portions too (sarcasm). They took 1 egg and flattened it to a ultra-thin layer you can barely telll its there. Overall the worst food value Ive seen in a long time. Very dry also. The mocha was good, so I'll avoid the 1 star rating. Go here for drinks, not for food... but then again the drinks you can get at the Whole Foods barista next door for $2 less. Trendy place with nice decor that young TicTokers will rave about. If you like wasting money, join them and keep this place afloat with your hard earned dollars.

Where's the bacon and egg or who ordered the tater burrito

Clean, warm, and cozy space. The baked goods are well presented and inviting. So why 1 star? Opening a restaurant in Los Angeles isn't easy--but doing it without a properly dialed-in kitchen is even harder. Add a poorly executed menu, and the results show. Take a look at my photo of the breakfast burrito: missing bacon and egg. I opened what was supposed to be a bacon burrito to add salsa (which, to be fair, was very good) and found lazily prepared fillings and what tasted like leftover bacon from the day before. I'm being tough because of the location--7th and Grand is prime real estate. Being busy wiping tables doesn't justify 4-5 star reviews if the food isn't there. This place needs someone to step in and help with the kitchen and flavor profiles, because right now they're just not working. Good luck--I'll be back, and I hope it improves.

Decided to give this cafe a visit after walking past it multiple times. Decided to order their machaca breakfast burrito and it was so freakin good. Lots of meat, melted cheese, and crispy tator tots inside. Comes with a side of delicious salsa. Service was excellent and loved the decor and vibe inside the restaurant. Cute, bright, and airy cafe serving breakfast and lunch. The bacon breakfast burrito was tasty. Cashier was friendly. She told me a few things people liked such as mortadella sandwich & other items. Great addition to Downtown; if you come on a Saturday, make sure to go stop by the mini South Park farmers market down the street. The only thing I can think of is the seating could be more comfortable, like maybe add cushions? I like the music playing in the background which wasn't too loud.

Got the Honey Cinnamon Latte and it was so good! The line to order was short but did have to wait some time to get my coffee. Overall though, pretty good. Will def return to try their sandwiches and pastries, everything looks so good. It's also really new inside, spacious, and really clean. Great place to study or work. read more

Personally my go-to place when I am in DTLA! I really enjoy The Grasshopper. Their matcha is also pretty nice and has unique flavors, although I would say it's on the sweeter side (I ask for half sweet and it is too sweet still). Place looks nice and we need more of these clean-cut shops around DTLA replacing dead steel, and I decided to pop-in for a croissant. They looked very crisp and fresh in the display, but they were meh, not even close to as fresh as the ones at Paris bakery, and a buck more expensive, AND smaller. 6 bucks for it yikes, easy one + done; asked to earn points cashier said only good for drinks (like, really?) Was in town for a business meeting and decided that this place would be a quick bite + coffee. Nope, I stood in front of the cashier (no one else in line) and it took 20 minutes for them to take my order. That is an absurd amount of time I had to wait especially if there is no one else in line and the fact that there wasn't that many people in the cafe either. I believe it was probably the owner (someone not wearing uniform) that told me that they would be with me in a minute. A minute? So I'm expecting about 5 mins or something along those lines bcuz it's understandable if they're busy with something else, but 20 minutes?? That is just absurd. Not only that, but after I ordered, it took about another 40 minutes just to get my sandwich (club sandwich: turkey, ham, lettuce, tomato, mayo, mustard all between plain sourdough slices) and an iced americano. The sandwich and coffee were decent, maybe 3.5 stars worthy. The ambiance would be a 4 star bcuz, it's a nice little cafe. But waiting just shy over an hour for a club sandwich and americano, is not worth it. It drops the entire rating down to a 1.8/5. read more

I ordered the Matcha Duo ($6.95) for myself, and it was perfect - a nice matcha flavor with just the right amount of sweetness. I would definitely get it again. For my wife, I got the Coconut Matcha Latte ($6.95), as suggested by the staff. I love how they layer the matcha and coconut, but be sure to take a picture quickly, as it mixes easily. If you like taking pictures of your drinks, I recommend having a friend or partner grab a table beforehand, as there aren't many good spots for photos. Rok is definitely a place I'll return to explore more of their menu. I'd like to try going there earlier in the morning to beat the lines or order ahead.

The pop-up is easy to find, it's outside facing into the parking lot, and they had a cute A-frame sign out by the street side. There was no line, and I ordered and sat down at one of the tables out front. The service was so warm, and I believe the shop is owned and operated by one man on his own! He was an absolute delight to meet, and he brought my matcha latte to me at the table when it was prepared. He suggested I get the cream top on it, and boy was that the perfect recommendation. I would say I'm a little bit of a matcha fiend... I think I got a matcha latte at 3 different places this day... and this one far surpassed the others. I think it was one of the best matcha lattes I have ever drank to-date. It was perfectly green, the matcha quality was phenomenal, both taste and look-wise. The texture was just right, perfectly creamy with barely any grittiness. The cream top only added to the drink, and didn't take away from the matcha flavor at all, which I feel like has happened at other places for me. I'm dreaming of this matcha latte days later, and need to go back to Kokoro No Coffee as soon as I am in town again. This was a spectacular find, and I hope this spot gets all the love it deserves! Stopped by here before work and it did not disappoint! the food was amazing, especially the quality of ingredients. I had the blueberry matcha and you could definitely tell the high quality matcha and the blueberry taste was great without overpowering. I also got the machaca burrito which came with an amazing homemade salsa. The tater tots added a great crisp and the beef was very well seasoned. Service was great and the register was able to accommodate any of my needs! I grabbed a couple things for my friend and she loved the quesadilla, great crisp and generous guacamole inside! The hazelnut coffee loaf was warm and so moist too. I would definitely want to come back to try the rest of their extensive menu. Ambiance seemed great to get some work done or study! A new gem in DTLA. This place is awesome! I found out the owner's daughter named the cafe after her dog who loves to lay on the couch. So cute! We went to try the new cafe and I was very impressed. The decor is fresh and beautiful. My wife loved it here. We tried a few dishes and they were amazing. For breakfast, I highly recommend Avocado & Burrata Toast and Strawberry Mascarpone Toast. For lunch and dinner, I highly recommended Crispy Herbed Fish and Cali Grilled Chicken Bowl. All very delicious. I also like the coffee here. The beans are fresh roasted and you can taste the difference. The ingredients were fresh and apparently they get much of their produce and ingredients from local vendors. Stopped by Sandcouch Cafe in Downtown LA, and I have to say, the interior is absolutely beautiful. The space is modern, cozy, and well-designed--perfect for relaxing or getting some work done. The ambiance alone makes it a nice place to visit. I tried the Tiramisu Latte, but unfortunately, it was bland. I was expecting a rich, well-balanced flavor with hints of mascarpone, espresso, or cocoa, but it lacked depth and tasted a bit watered down. For a cafe with such a strong aesthetic, I was hoping the coffee quality would match. Overall, it's a nice spot to hang out, but the drinks could use some improvement. If you're coming here for the first time a must try is their Korean BBQ Bowl and their matcha, they're so GAS. The baristas in the front and the chefs in the back know what they're doing! The pastries selection is also really good, Matcha Date Scone is my personal favorite although it's been a while since I've seen it. Nice space to get some work done. read more

Chicken pesto panini was excellent choice. I visited the cafe with my friend and he also loved the Strawberry mascarpone. it was delicious. The server was very kind and explained us very well last Saturday about 1pm. It was busy but he was very kind. read more
