Fresh fish , the quality on the steak was amazing. Service was great and the place is clean and neat.

So I went to a work meeting out here and after the meeting I was really craving some sushi. I yelped some places and saw this place was only 5 min away & figured Id give it a try. When I first walked in a was greeted & seated & also given a menu. My waitress was so sweet and smiley, she asked if I would like a drink. I ordered my drink and she asked if I still needed time to order food which I didn't because I already knew what I wanted but then asked for some recommendations to try something different so I ended up getting a niko roll. It didn't take very long for my order to be served. While I was eating I was asked about 2-3x if everything was tasting good or needed anything. She even gave me extra napkins without me asking AND a refill without asking! I'm really big on customer service and feeling important!!!! I'm rarely around long beach but I can tell you with getting such great service and yummy rolls I wouldn't mind dragging my hubby for a date night to come back. Trina was so attentive and kind. Monkfish liver was excellent. Ramen broth was rich and creamy, but not too thick or overwhelming...perfect! Tea eggs were perfectly cooked. Everybody at the table was impressed and satisfied. Regular sodium shoyu was a nice touch...I don't like the low-sodium stuff. Definitely will be returning! read more

went here last night as I am currently looking for a sushi spot, this place needs major help in the customer service area we waited at least 15min for our dishes to come out and had to flag someone down anytime we needed something food was ok would have gotten 3stars and a return customer had there been any service needs improvement before I will spend money there again read more

It was great! There was no line, and we were seated very quickly. It was my first time here and what I enjoyed was that they had a deal everyday from 6PM to closing! You can get half a roll for $6.99 so you can choose more variety instead of eating a whole roll for $11+. Overall, service was great! :) read more

This is where the old Niko Niko was. Sapporo is a sister restaurant to Fusion Sushi on Palo Verde. Great service and good sushi when you need a quick fix. I liked the Protein Roll, except that the crab was a bit heavy with creaminess. read more

I hadn't been to this restaurant since it changed hands. Went to the sushi bar and waited for a long time to get some service. Only 3 others at the bar but obviously tight with the sushi chef. The three were done eating and the chef continued to giggle with his pals. When he pulled out a shot glass and one of the guest shared his drink I had enough! I packed up and left. Only one star for Sapporo (because it did not let me do 0) and the whole chain because they let go two of the best employees that they had. The 2 women let go were the reason that a big group of us came to Sapporo and Fusion Sushi so now we will skip it. Very sad when the 2 best employees are let go AFTER they build up the business. Came here for solo on a lunch break from work and was promptly seated outside and drink order taken. After 10 minutes, I went inside and was told that there was a big party, so service outside would be slow. I had not been informed of this prior to being seated and was surprised there was no effort to offer service or an inside seat where service might be more prompt. I just posted this same review on Facebook but I wanted to get it on Yelp too. I am so tired of people bragging about their favorite other sushi place because they make a great spider roll or some other nonsense. Great sushi means incredibly fresh fish, amazing presentation, imaginative menu choices, and a chef's understanding of how certain flavors work well together. Take all that and add great prices and you have Sapporo Sushi. Plus they have nato. :) And JP is a genius. Go to those other places for your rainbow roll. Come here for sushi. read more

I was mislead by all the reviews. I came here based on the high ratings but I found out that the reason why this place has high ratings is because the restaurant ask for their customers to give a review on yelp and in exchange they get one free macaron ice cream, limited one per person. So I'm sure all the reviews about how great this restaurant is all a lie. I have never in my life encounter such a bad experience before until now. I had to wait for a long time just to get my orders like maybe 40 minutes just for my orders to come out and they mess it up! I didn't ask for salmon sashimi yet they charged it to our bill. By that time, I was already fed up so didn't even bother telling the waiter because I just wanted to leave, so I gave my credit card to them and they took forever to give it back to us. There is nothing more that I hate than having to wait forever for my food to come out. Never coming back here again. Also the food wasn't even that great. read more

Maybe one star is a little mean but my experience here was horrible. The food deserves a three star but the service deserves a - 1 star. The server never came by to check on our table. We asked for water and extra condiments and never received it. The server forgot one of our group members order and they didn't offer to add it or anything. They just said sorry and walked away. What made me click the one star and write this review was the "mandatory tipping." There was a group of 7 of us so we expected to have the 18% gratuity added to our bill but what we didn't expect was that they tried to rip us off. Our subtotal for the bill came out to be 150ish, grand total was 170 and we were charged a 35 dollar tip... There was a 20% tip added off of our grand total instead of subtotal. I mentioned this to the front and they said it is suppose to be 18% but they couldn't do anything about it and that I had to talk to manager. When I asked to speak to the manager they said that the manager is not there. I would have to pay that amount and call the manager for a reimbursement. Having the service I just did, I should not have had to pay 35 extra. After I complained a little more the server said "sorry I pressed the wrong button, let me change it to 18%." Moral of my story - be sure to double check your receipt. They could be ripping you off. read more

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! I'm only giving this place 1 star because of the food. If I could rate the service by itself it would be in the - for sure. The customer service was the WORST I've ever experienced in my life! It was my first and last time going there! Our server Ally definitely needs more training. In fact the whole staff does! She asked us for our drink order right off the bat, didn't really give us much time to check out the drinks. 3 of our sushi rolls NEVER came to us! Not one employee offered us more beverages while they quickly picked up our empty plates. I had to ask where our waitress was because she never bothered to check on us and the girl that I asked responded with "you aren't the only table that's upset." Like really? Then we asked for the manager and got "He's at the sushi bar..." We asked to speak with him... He never came. We left without eating the 3 rolls that never came out. When we went up front to pay we had to get them to correct the bill because they did charge us for food that we never ate! The cashier asked us how was everything and we told her the food was good but the service was terrible. She said sorry like that would correct the lack of empathy from the other staff members. Told her we won't ever be coming back. Ohhhh and while we were waiting to pay there was a man stating that their phones were of the hook and he's been trying to place an order for 30 mins! He over heard our issues with the place and said "Never mind, I'll go somewhere else." So for a total of 2 hours of being there we actually only ate for 15 mins... The rest of the time was waiting for the missing rolls and drinks! read more

Great food. Great service. High quality sushi. Garlic spicy edamame is super bomb. I'd recommend it with any meal.
