Tried the chili crab garlic fries and they were the absolute definition of perfection. I'd give more than 5 stars if I could. The chili sauce was not that spicy (I have a low spice tolerance so perfect for me), and was the perfect balance of savory and sweet. It was more of a savory dish, with a slight sweetness. The crab melts in your mouth, and the fries were fried to the perfect crisp. They're crinkle fries, so the grooves also catch all the garlic and crab really well. The amount of garlic they put was also the right amount (a lot) and everything balanced each other out wonderfully. So flavorful and I hope I run into this food truck again because I keep thinking about these fries.

A pretty unique food truck focusing on satay sauce and deconstructed chili crab. Sadly, they don't sell any satay skewers à la cate, so you'd have commit to a whole meal. Everything I tried was tasty. Chili Crab Garlic Fries: At $23.90, this is probably the most expensive order of fries I've ever placed. Though it's also the most unique. None of the burden of having to pick a chili crab yourself. A ton of crab meat resting on a bunch of crinkle cut garlic fries with a nice sweet tomato-y chili sauce on top of it all. I was hungry and it was still way too much to me. Though I think I managed to eat most of the chili crab with the top half of fries, so it was mainly the soggy bottom fries and a few runaway crab bites that I didn't get to. This is a truly unique Singapore San Francisco fusion! Satay Sandwich: A fun bánh mì hybrid with chunks of skewered grilled chicken and rich peanut sauce for a nice Singaporean flair. Served on Dutch crunch rather than a mini baguette, to have a little bit of San Francisco influence. Lots of great tastes and textures. Appreciated how they didn't skimp on the chilis.

I've eaten at plenty of hawker carts throughout Singapore, so I had high excitement and hopes when we parked at Faction Brewing in Alameda and saw the Satay by the Bay food truck. After picking up a brew at Faction, we found a table on the patio and then placed an order for the namesake chicken satay plates. The plate consisted of 3 chicken satay skewers, peanut dipping sauce, a side of rice (I passed on the rice because I'm keto), and cucumber slices. Service was fast, but not very personal. Not rude, just perfunctory and business. We were given a buzzer and sat to wait. We occupied ourselves with our drinks, so lost track of time. But man, I did the math and we waited 21 minutes for the buzzer to go off. We got there late in the afternoon and it wasn't at all particular busy. Presentation-wise things seemed fine. But where are the Singaporean flavors?!? The chicken itself lacked any discernible Singapore or Malaysian flavors profile. No ginger, lemongrass, cloves, cumin, chile, or any memorable flavors. Just grilled chicken. And the peanut dipping sauce was similarly blah. It was a chunky peanut butter based sauce without the Malaysian flavors I expected. No heat. No garlic. This was a Thai peanut sauce masquerading as Singapore satay sauce. And these three weak satays and dull sauce rang in at $16. The cukes were fine as far as cucumbers go. And they threw some red onion slices on the plate to I guess compensate for the blah satay? On the upside, Faction has an amazing view of SF and the Bay Bridge. So the ambiance was lovely. This is a one and done for sure for me.

Got to try this food truck when they were at faction brewery last week. The chicken satay with rice and cucumber salad was delicious. The peanut sauce poured over everything with a little chili sauce is the move. It's also a good amount of food, i was satisfied.

Finally got to try this food truck at the Presidio Tunnel Tops Park on Saturday. There were some other food trucks and it was the perfect place to enjoy some food and gorgeous views of the Golden Gate Bridge. I tried the Singapore chili crab fries. The portion was huge and it came with a good amount of crab! I got it with garlic fries instead of normal fries for extra flavor. It was pretty good, definitely meant for sharing

Snacked on some marinated chicken skewers from this food truck offering some good eats in front of Winters Tavern at the Pacifica Rock n Roll Flea Market this past Sunday. Service was quick and easy, no lines, no waiting. Freshly made food, delicious sides of plain veggies and rice, and tender chicken with a nice char and good amount of flavor.

as a Singaporean, I've been eager to support this eatery and I finally caught the pop up food truck in SF Presidio. I asked for recommendations between the chilli crab fries and the satay sandwich, and was told that the chilli crab sauce was only slightly spicy. since I love spice and was afraid that the chilli crab sauce would not be spicy enough, I got the satay sandwich, but will definitely try the chilli crab fries next time! the satay itself was tender and smoky just like our street food, but I do wish there was more peanut sauce! that would make the sandwich a bit less dry. other than that, I loved getting a taste of home again and supporting a fellow singaporean :")

Satay By The Bay SF is a food truck based in the San Francisco Bay Area. While at the Birdhaus Beer Garden in Union City, I noticed a flyer for a food truck pop up on a Sunday. It was Satay By The Bay SF. I decided to check it out. Come Sunday, the atmospheric river had paused, and there was the food truck out in front of the Beer Garden. There was no line due to the weather, so I walked up and placed my order. The staff were friendly and accommodating. While waiting for my order, I looked at all of the flyers posted on the truck. There were menu photos and reviews of their food. Soon my order was ready. I took the goods indoors. The Sandwiches were excellent. They were huge and flavorful. The Fries were great too -- huge portions and yummy. I will definitely look out for their pop ups if I'm nearby.

Singaporean chili crab on 1lb of fries. Super yummy and filling!!!

This food truck is highly efficient and put out some seriously delicious foods! Their Singaporean chili crab on fries is a high value and incredibly tasty meal. 1 lb of yummy fries just absolutely smothered in real crab and their tasty chili sauce. It was so good, we devoured it.

It's original and unique Maybe it was an off day The wind was blowing at Tanforan The rice was hard which made it seem like the rice was not freshest! Peanut sauce could be better as it was bland. The crushed peanuts did make a nice texture and not as sweet. Satay half cooked weird? Chicken tasted weird I ordered a satay plate with rice. 3 chicken sticks scoop of heart shaped rice and cucumber onion salad. Peanut sauce $14. Although The chicken came out thin on the stick. I'm down to try this place again

3 chicken skewers (12) with rice, cucumbers. Not worthy?

Satay by the Bay SF was parked in front of Forbidden Island tiki bar (8/29). their specialty is "Authentic Singapore Street Food". they rotate between food events & bars. offerings: chicken/beef skewers, tahu goreng (tofu), satay sandwich, dutch fries, singapore chili crab..per standing board. eats: 3 chicken skewers (12) with rice, chopped cucumber/red onions, peanut sauce. no beef skewers were available today. -cucumber/onions were cut/sliced served as is, no other preparation. -couple scoops steamed jasmine rice...tasted ok. peanut sauce plain tasting. -chicken skewers had a moist muted liquid covering the grilled chicken. . flavor neutral. 3.5 stars. novel food. flavors just average. average value.

The service was fantastic. The chicken skewers were flavorful with the peanut sauce and came fresh off the grill. Juicy and tender, thank you for a lovely meal. Will come back soon.

$13 and we could not believe how lackluster this place was. First off, the peanut sauce was so bland it tasted like a no salt mixture of bland peanut butter that we could not figure out how this place stays in business. The rice was hella dry and their cucumber salad was NOT even marinated...it's just raw cucumbers! C'mon, you're not even trying to make things work! The satay, for $13 you can choose one protein, so we chose beef. Bland flavor and hardly any spices. We were soooooo disappointed....look at all the "o's" in so!

It never feels like a production, just a good place to land. We have eaten our way through a decent chunk of the trucks at this point, and that is half the fun. One day it is something messy and indulgent, the next it is lighter, but it always hits. Grabbing a drink, finding a spot at the picnic tables, and slowly settling in as the place fills up is kind of the rhythm. It is social without being overwhelming, lively without being chaotic. What keeps us coming back is how consistent it feels in the best way. It is easy, flexible, and always a good time whether you stay for an hour or lose an entire afternoon there. It is the kind of spot that turns into a routine before you even realize it, and honestly, we are not mad about it.

This also means a good variety for folks with different dietary needs, because they are mostly picking their own food. I have always enjoyed my time here, whether it's on company dime or if I'm just hanging out with friends. I do wish that there are more heaters around for the colder days but that's just life in the bay! It can be kind of cold and foggy all seasons here, so if you have a solid group of folks I'd recommend reserving a spot with a fire pit. One more note: parking can be tough. You either have to circle around for street parking, or rideshare here.

Just too bad the meat didn't stay juicy. 3.5/5 ROTISSERIE PORCHETTA SANDWICH ~ skin was crispy and burnt, so it was bitter yet crunchy. Pork was tender, but I didn't taste much of the jam. I did not like the bitter burnt skin. I personally thought it threw the flavor off. If it wasn't bitter, it would have scored higher. I always enjoy bread toasted when having a sandwich. Sadly, they don't toast it. My friend loves this sandwich and told me the skin wasn't supposed to be crunchy and burnt! So I'm assuming this wasn't typical. 3/5 The 4 of us shared the whole chicken and split the porchetta sandwich. There were plenty of craft vendors and food vendors, organized space-wise by category: craft vendors were closer to the entrance, food vendors were farther in. My favorites from the craft side were the amount of curated clothes sellers!! Soooo many cute jackets, dresses, tops, skirts, shoes, and bags. There were also a couple music stages playing music -- I liked that they had enough space between them so the sound didn't overlap when you were trying to listen to the artist(s) at either stage. The stage in the back was more of a DJ set, playing house music, and the stage in front had live music -- they had a full band and even a group playing an Irish jig earlier in the day, which was very fun. There were plenty of alcohol stations all around -- in the back, in the front, lining the whole perimeter of the event. There was also a good variety of crafts and a solid selection of food vendors. My only wish is that there had been more sweet options because there were tons of savory options. But overall, everything was very diverse, looked great, and was interesting and unique -- you had Nepali food, Indonesian food, Indian food, Mexican food, etc. -- very ethnically diverse. Overall, I think this is a great event and opportunity to spend time with loved ones (fun for adults and families alike!), grab a bite, and support local businesses! The friend I came with said the market has grown so much since before the pandemic, so it's lovely to see the community show up and show out for this. I hope OTG and WCC continue to host this market! Capelo's Barbecue: My friend and I ordered from Capelo's Barbecue's food truck. We got the 3-meat plate with beef brisket, pork ribs, and BBQ smoked chicken. First -- that line was hella long. We waited about 30 minutes (not including the wait after for the food), but it was fun since I had my friend to talk to. The layout of the menu and pricing were quite clear, so it was easy to decide what we wanted while we waited in line. Also, no dedicated seating area for the truck (night market!). The meats: beef brisket and pork ribs were an extra $2 each on the meat plate. The beef brisket was my favorite -- super smoky and so tender, almost melt-in-your-mouth, but not mushy. Just the perfect texture. Honestly, I wish it had a little more salt to add another layer of flavor besides just meat and smoke, but I still enjoyed the heck out of that brisket. The pork ribs were solid -- not the most amazing ribs I've ever had, but good flavor and texture. They weren't fall-off-the-bone tender, but they had a satisfying chew. I had to put some effort into tearin' the flesh from the bone with my teeth (as you do with ribs), and I liked that. The BBQ smoked chicken? Honestly, nothing special. It was a good, neutral option compared to the brisket and ribs, but the main flavor I picked up was black pepper. Solid chicken breast, but nothing memorable. Even the skin was meh. For the sides, we chose the baked beans and mac and cheese. The baked beans were wonderfully sweet and savory -- they paired perfectly with the BBQ. The mac and cheese was good and worked well with everything, but it wasn't particularly special on its own. Altogether, I think we paid around $32 for the plate. If I hadn't been splitting it with another person, honestly, I don't know if it would've been worth it -- but it was good in the moment. Quite tasty overall.

Between the location and the aesthetic, I was excited to see what the hype was about. My friend and I ordered the turmeric golden latte and the butterfly pea latte from the "botanical + herbal" section. Both drinks looked beautiful, but they tasted surprisingly thin and pretty flavorless. There wasn't much depth or richness, and we were confused because we expected a latte-style drink to include espresso. After asking the barista, we learned that the botanical + herbal drinks don't come with coffee or espresso at all. That wasn't clearly indicated, and the word "latte" definitely led us to assume otherwise. To their credit, the barista was kind and offered to add an espresso shot to my drink once I mentioned the confusion. After the addition, it tasted significantly better and finally had some body. I just don't understand why that wouldn't be the default or at least clearly labeled on the menu. The concept and setting are appealing, but the experience itself felt underwhelming.

The Leo's taco truck literally is located in San Francisco/Ocean Beach with a view of the Pacific Ocean. Leo's taco trucks are known in Southern California as THE taco truck for reasonably priced street tacos, that are beyond delicious. The experience at the San Francisco/Ocean Beach taco truck was great. For the most part it mirrors the LA experience, which is exactly what I wanted. It's like having a piece of home. Menu prices are nonexistent so there's no way to determine exactly what you're going to be charged. I ordered two Al pastor tacos, and was charged seven dollars which included tax. I really like that they always include a piece of pineapple with the Al Pastor. The tacos were absolutely yummy. The meat was flavorful, but definitely not as juicy as the LA version. Plus, they don't seem to be as generous with meat at this location as they are in LA. The talk of themselves are not the traditional small street tacos, and yet they're smaller than the traditional sized tacos. They do provide bagged condiments that include sauces and radish. I was super hesitant to try them because of some of the other reviews. Tasty tacos, and if you've ever been to Leo's, and you, in this part of the Bay Area, it's definitely worth a stop.

The foodtruck was pared outside our Salesforce office today. Super quick. Price was bit steep like $18 something for a salad. I loved it tho and will have again. I want to try their burritos and fries as well. But I want to share that my colleague order sisig rice bowl and they skimped on the portion so bad it looked like my 1yr old meal plate. Very less rice and meat with bit of salad on the side. For a total of 18$ smth is just a joke. took off 1 star just because of this.

So my burrito was pretty decent but I'm sure the actual vegan menu items are much better. The burrito was also not that big, I suspect the food truck serving sizes might be smaller than at the restaurant. Staff at the truck were really nice, and cut my burrito in half when I asked. Would definitely like to come to an actual restaurant to try the vegan menu!
