I can't say enough good things about the food here - from the pizza to the bruschetta to the salads and (let's not forget) the dessert, it's all great! They also serve beer, so that's a bonus for my husband. I've only been to the Broadway location, so I can only speak for there when I say it's clean inside, the staff is great, and there's outside patio dining. I am not sure what happened to this location but my experience was mediocre to say the least. The lasagna, even though it tasted good did not look super appetizing. Tomato soup is pretty sour. My girlfriend and I went in at approximately 2122 hours on a Friday night, knowing they closed at 2200. We tried to be considerate, keep our stay minimal, and eat quickly since we were starving after the gym. The service is always great here (Broadway and Grant locations), the food is delicious and the space is clean. We ordered pizzas, the garlic knots, a caesar salad and a side of marinara pasta. This place is not celiac safe. We had been eating there regularly but tonight our pizza looked weird/different. It was carry out so I called and spoke to the manager. The bottom of the pizza felt gritty like I remember wheat pizza being. The manager confirmed that the black specks all over the bottom of the crust are wheat flour since they don't have a separate oven. I tried to play with the contrast on the photo but maybe it's hard to see. Hands down one of the nicest Sauce restaurants here in Tucson. Tons of booths and tables to choose from. Also very well kept a and clean even when people were coming and going. I throughly enjoyed my time here with my boyfriend. We ordered our regular pizza that we like to get when we go to sauce. This time my boyfriend added a panini this time because he thought it looked delicious. He has never really had a panini either. Starting with the crust; it was thin but also incredibly dry. About one fourth of the crust flaked away in my hand. Toppings were stingy at best - very little sausage and onion. Dry pizza overall. My plate was filled with a pile of dry, empty crust. Service was decent - although I do dislike those terminals that prompt you for a tip when you have not received your food or experienced the service. I like to tip but it needs to be based on the outcome of the dining experience. The ambiance is OK for warehouse style. Nothing outstanding. The metal chairs used in the location (Grant Road) are incredibly uncomfortable. Inexpensive and a bit narrow. Good place for kids an teens - and small adults. If the pizza was decent I might have considered returning but that was not the case. Total bust for me. read more

Got the mac and cheese pizza which was on sale apparently and the rosemary potato. The former was really heavy but good, mac and cheese was al dente and very tasty, good cheese flavor. The chicken, spinach and apple and roasted vegetable salads are great. One of their seasonal salads is my favorite this year - the Sonoma Fields salad. Includes spring and romaine mix, strawberries, red grapes, candied pecans, gorgonzola, and creamy poppy seed dressing. I didn't really like the dressing so I had it without dressing, which was perfect! I usually don't have salad without dressing so it says a lot about the flavors in this salad being so wonderful on their own. The portabello and artichoke pizza is my favorite. Sauce has easily become one of my favorite spots in Tucson to grab a pizza. Their service is always exceptional as is their food. So far I've tried their Pig and Chicken Pesto pizza and and their caprese skewers and caesar salad. All of which were great. Their Pig pizza is their take on a meat lovers with applewood smoked bacon, italian sausage, pepperoni, smoked ham & sopressata. This pizza became my dad's favorite pie after we brought him here for his Birthday this year. The Chicken Pesto is a bit more simple with white pizza with pesto chicken, fresh mozzarella & marinated tomatoes but definitely not simple in flavor. The Chicken is always moist and overall the flavor and seasoning are spot on. Their red sauce alone can be eaten by the spoon full too! I think what I love most is their pizza crust, especially their thin and crispy crust. Although you can choose from different crusts, original thin, traditional hand-stretched, and gluten-free for a slight upcharge. This place surprisingly is pretty good, but a little on the pricey side for serving pizza, salads and pasta. I ordered the pasta and meatballs and my wife ordered a pepperoni pizza in thin crust. We also ordered bruschetta as an appetizer, which was actually phenomenal! I originally pegged The Hub in downtown Tucson with the best bruschetta, but I think Sauce has them beat. The pasta with meatballs was okay, although the meatballs tasted like there was just an ungodly amount of oregano in them, but other than that, all good. The thin crust pizza wasn't bad either. The cleanliness of the restaurant was great and the staff are abnormally friendly, which is a stretch for this side of town. Overall, 4 stars and 1.5 thumbs up for this place. We'll be back another time and hopefully our experience is just as good as the first!! read more
