Schnippers is a great fast food, casual spot alternative to Shake Shack if you want good burgers and cheese fries! I came here late on a Thursday night(around 9pm) and even though the place closes at 10/10:30, my food was fresh, hot, and brought out to me quickly. We ordered a bacon cheeseburger with the special Schnippers sauce on the side, the crispy chicken sandwich on whole wheat ciabatta, and fries with cheese sauce. The burger was a little small, but cooked medium like I asked. The crispy chicken sandwich was definitely worth the $1 extra more than the burger because it was HUGE! While down in NYC for the weekend with my family, we decided to drop in here for a bite to eat. The menu and customer-provided pictures looked great. It was also nearby our hotel. So we had high hopes. However, the food and our experience wasn't anything stellar. The staff members working were professional and courteous. They provided some recommendations on menu items. I ordered a Buffalo chicken sandwich. The chicken was dry and lacked any type of spice. And as you can see in the picture, the chicken wasn't even hot enough to melt the single slice of cheese placed onto it. In addition to the subpar sandwich, there was a disruptive person inside the restaurant yelling and behaving in a threatening manner towards the woman he was with. I really don't eat Turkey burgers outside of my home. Too many bad experiences. But after walking around NY and needing food but not to be slowed down I went with the Turkey burger at Schnipper's. Hit the spot! It was not dry, which is usually the problem. Seasoned to perfection. Juicy. The extra added ingredients made the burger a delight. So glad I went for it. Stopped in here for lunch yesterday with my husband. We had time to kill between tests and he was hungry. The place was surprisingly empty for a Friday lunch. Even still, table service was very slow. My first time trying Schnipper's was at this location and I loved it. They have burgers, fries, shakes, sandwiches, onion rings, mac and cheese, hot dogs and more. They even have salads! It's like way better fast food. The first time I went, I got their salted nutella shake, mac and cheese, the Schnipp (their classic cheeseburger) and chicken fingers with sweet potato fries. I love their sweet potato fries. I got a bunch of sauces with to eat the chicken fingers with. They were all really good. Everything is really delicious. The mac is so cheesy and addictive. Super high ceilings. And theres an upstairs with additional seating that overlooks the lower floor. Fun to sit up there and people watch as you eat. Everything is reasonably priced and not fancy by any means. There milkshakes are sooo good. Mac n cheese was more creamy than cheesy. Bacon egg and cheese burger was good, hit the spot! Gluten free chicken fingers! Yaaaassss. This is a treat my husband never gets. We are from the south and chicken fingers are everywhere but none are gluten free. The irony! Here in NYC where they are less common we find a place who only makes them gluten free. They came out piping hot and delicious. Fries were ok. Not bad not great (only reason I gave 4 stars. Should be 4.5 stars). Refills on coke (COKE NOT PEPSI :) ) and bathroom for paying customers. Good location for people watching and super friendly staff. We got here at 11:45 and there was no line (it is counter service) but at 12 on the dot the line was 15 people deep but they serve super fast. I had the fresh market salad with beets, fresh corn, avocado, toasted almonds, plum tomatoes, chick peas, fresh grated parmesan, radish sprouts, homemade croutons, vinaigrette. The homemade croutons really elevate the dish. They're thin and perfectly crispy so they add some real texture/crunch. The rest of the ingredients paired together well. They were fresh enough. I added grilled mahi mahi and it was tasty and good, though pretty small of a portion considering that it costs more than $5 just to add a few cubes of it. A coworker of mine ordered a double topping of grilled chicken to his salad and I wondered why until I saw the dishes come out. My coworker and I went for a late lunch. It wasn't too crowded. The cashier was very friendly and engaged in a small conversation with us and made couple suggestions. They gave us a buzzer for the food and the waitress brought our food to us. It was pretty fast. (There was about 5 other tables ) I got the fried chicken sandwich (recommended by her) and it was amazing! It had bacon, guac, Mayo, red onion, tomato, lettuce. It's a pretty good size. Recently got takeout from here, was happy with the food. I got the Mama's Mediterranean salad and it was huge and filling. Lots of delicious veggies that are oftentimes lacking in salads ordered from places that don't specialize in salads. Every year I meet my family for holiday lunch, this year I chose this place. When I got there I was greeted by Roman Charles who I assume was manager in charge. I have never been so disappointed with his lack luster customer service. He was probably the worst I have experienced and I am in the customer service business. Eating at Schnippers a few times, I can say that the Fish & Chips there are not really representative of what Schnippers is good for... What I really like about Schnippers is the Chicken Club Sandwich, not necessarily their burgers. Something about the chicken sandwich tastes very good and the way how they make the sandwich in a ciabatta style bread, makes it taste unique to the other chicken sandwiches I've eaten at other restaurants. It being an American restaurant, I had to have their Onion rings and with the Schnipper's sauce makes it taste very very good! The Schnipper's sauce also pairs well with the sweet potato fries too! The service is also very kind and attentive. When eating in they give you a buzzer and you leave it on the table, and the server knows exactly where to find you. They also offer to throw out your trash if they notice you're done and just spending some time to digest the food you've eaten! It is a solid American restaurant. read more
