I have been to this Scooper's Location twice. The first time I had the pastrami burger with onion rings and a drink. It was fabulous. Most recently (since it was Tuesday) I had the Taco special. 2 supreme tacos that have cheese, tomatoes, sour cream (not for me) and lettuce with fries and a drink. The tacos were hot, the shells freshly fried and they were HUGE. The lady is always nice at the counter and quite welcoming. They have an amazing array of drinks and their daily specials are great. I will keep coming back to support a local eatery that always fills me up. Keep in mind, this is not high cuisine. My girls and I get milkshakes here all the time. Well we were down south and decided to have dinner. Had a coupon buy a double cheese burger get one free. So that's what my husband and I ordered. He also ordered a corn dog. The kids ordered 2 more burgers and a hot dog. Once the food was finished the corn dog was burnt so badly on the end it crumbled. Since this was my husbands he moved on to his burger while they cooked him a new one. He opened the burger and the bottom bun was frozen. So I took it back up there said the bun is frozen. The girls said sorry papa he said I will never come here again. A restaurant that doesn't care about their food will not get my business. Our son said my bun iis frozen also. I'm just to hungry not to eat. They brought out his food and the bottom of this hamburger bun was frozen also. They need a new cook!!! Love the Sparks location!!!! Always great customer service there. However, this Reno location falls short on customer service (big time). I called from the parking lot, as my little had fallen asleep in the car. I simply wanted to place my order so I didn't have to drag a sleepy one in and then have to wait. They answered the phone, asked if I could hold and before I could answer they set the phone down. 7 min on "hold" , I hung up and called back at which time the young lady wanted to argue with me that I had not been in hold that long (they had asked a second time if I could hold and I shared I just had for 7 minutes). Ummm, we all know cell phones have timers , so I absolutely had held that long. Super snotty doesn't sit well with me. I'll be utilizing the Sparks location ONLY from now on!!!! The kids wanted milkshakes so we headed to the premier location for milkshakes in Reno/Sparks. We ordered cheeseburgers, fries, and milkshakes (Vanilla for them and Marshmallow for me, a departure from my usual Pineapple). The burgers were fresh and tasty and the milkshakes were delicious as always, not to mention thick enough that my forehead almost caved in trying to suck it up through a straw! Very rude and condescending. Impolite, unfriendly, impatiently took our order. Very curt, short, snippy and abrupt. Well I'm not impressed. My first order was wrong. I got the wrong burger and my fries were supposed to be chili cheese fries. But, I got just plain fries. Ok, I'm understand mistakes happen and since I was to far away to return my food to correct it I just ate what I had. My burger was tasty, but fries were nothing special. Total bill for a chili cheese hot dog and fries, chicken tenders and fries, and my wrong burger and fries with 3 milk shakes 1 small, 1 medium, and one large was $42. Which I also found a bit hard to swallow. Today I decided to get something different. I ordered a chili cheese hot dog and fries with chili cheese and a large milkshake. $15 again I was not impressed by anything special. Milkshakes both times were the best part. I didn't know that this was over here at the crossroads center until I saw the Scoopers van on the street. When I mentioned that to the cashier he was, "like well we been for three years" as if I should know. It's funny how when you don't do any advertising you just expect to build it and people will just come. Anyways haven't had scoopers in a long time decided to get a burger when I opened it up the burger the bottom bun was stale and cold and wasn't as great as I can remember. Not sure I get the hype. Cory wanted "Arctic Circle" flavors this weekend so I figured this would be close. We ordered a single burger with cheese and bacon, (smallest available) medium onion rings and a medium chocolate shake (for me), and the Matterhorn burger combo (for Cory) all for the seems high price of $22!! and some change... My single burger was okay, bready and not warm, would have preferred to have the bun toasted instead of cold. Cory said the Matterhorn was good though. He didn't agree with me that a meal at In N Out would be better (and about 50% cheaper). For me, it just comes down to the fact it is hard to justify these prices when the food tastes like Sysco frozen goods, especially the Burger King reminiscent onion rings. I finally got another burger, fries and shake here yesterday, $9.99 plus tax, plus $0.50 extra for a 2nd shake ingredient. I ordered it medium, came out well done, it was 1/3LB burger, but just seems smaller than I remember 1/3LB, maybe it's because of the overcooked and dry burgers. It seems to me if it was 1 1/3LB burger vs. 2 1/6LB burgers (I am guessing), it would be cooked to order correctly as well as much juicer. Also they need to dial in seasoning too, as I don't taste any. The fries was perfectly crispy and seasoned unlike the burger. Overall this burger was better than the last, but I would still give it only 2.75 stars. The Peanut Butter/Chocolate shake was 5 stars, and thoroughly tasty. The price point here for the combo meal is a bit high for me too. I have so many options I can eat at for less and get much more satisfaction according to my value equation. I like the food, but it doesn't wow me or make me want to return soon, and food should do that. I would return for the shake any day though! read more

The milkshake selection is amazing!!! I haven't been to scoopers in years! But only because of location. Ive always loved their burgers and milkshakes!!! So when I found out one is moving closer to me, I was thrilled! I grabbed my mom, sissy and baby, and we headed over! There is plenty of seating in the restaurant, the restaurant was very cold!!! (It was snowing outside, crank up the heat!) Almost all the patrons had their coats on! The menu is difficult to read if you are a few people back in line, but they have takeout menus that help! The staff was friendly, and efficient. We each ordered a burger, fries, and milkshakes. For the babe, I ordered a grilled cheese, and wanted to get her a water. (A drink came with her meal, but I rather she only has water).they advised me that they don't have a water cup with a lid for kids. I asked for a regular sized cup with only water in it.(since a drink came with her meal) they said they could not do that...weird. I asked if they had milk, or juice for her drink..., they have neither, but offered a soda, or milkshake....(my babe is 1.... Soda should not be pushed on 1 year olds...ok, off my mommy soap box) I got her a vanilla milkshake( for all the adults to split) And ran to the car to grab her a sippy cup of water. The food came. The fries was hot, and salty, the burgers tasted fresh, but one of them was luke warm at best. The milkshakes were wonderful! Shut the front door! This place is HUGE. I don't even know when they opened this location but I am so so so happy they did! They have all the glorious goodies from the OG location Sparks but in a far more convenient location (for me). I ventured out and tried the veggie burger (even though I really really really wanted a Mighty Mike) and it was pretty darn good, they served it burger style with lettuce, tomato, pickle, and some sort of thousand dressing. I had a peanut butter banana shake that was super tasty as they always are. My companions had the Matterhorn and were just as happy. I'm still thinking about the Mighty Mike. I have been enjoying Scooper's milkshakes from the Sparks location since I was a kid, and luckily they opened this location that is closer to me! The milkshakes are the best in town, hands down. So many different flavors, and flavor combinations! You can get a mint-bubblegum milkshake if you want! They are THICK and creamy, and my personal favorite is the chocolate chip cookie dough milkshake. My mouth is watering as I'm typing this! I will sometimes get a cheeseburger and fries to go with my milkshake, but not every time. This is because I'm really not the biggest fan of their food. I had been hearing about Scooper's shakes for years. Although this wasn't their original location, I figured we have to try it! The room was spacious, a little stark and plain (not my style, but whatever). The one thing I noticed the entire time I was there was how cold the restaurant was!!! I kept my jacket on the entire time. Gosh, spare a few dollars and turn on the heater when it is winter weather outside! There was a line to order, and the only posted menu had itsy bitsy lettering describing each item. We couldn't find a paper menu. My mom couldn't see it, so I pulled up the menu on my phone on the restaurant's Facebook page so she could read it (not much better to read, the resolution of that picture wasn't great). When the line died down, we were able to ask for a paper menu to look at, which they kept hidden behind the desk. Maybe they can post a menu somewhere that you can walk up to it, or have a few paper menus accessible. Just a suggestion. Alright, so we ordered. I must mention the milkshake options!!! I'm an oreo fan, so I just stuck with my favorite, but there were so many other intriguing options! But, the milkshake was fair, not my favorite, not sure what it was, just a little bit of a strange flavor. I didn't finish it. The hamburger I ordered had good flavor, I enjoyed the sauce. My one complaint was it was COLD, not even room temperature, actually cold. Maybe they store the buns in the fridge or something, the meat started warm, but cold just permeated the whole sandwich. So the food flavor was good, but the overall experience of a cold restaurant, cold hamburger, and a fair milkshake, left me without warm feelings for that experience.
