Pleasant quick service. There's no fancy fare but the food is solid! Eggs cooked correctly, bacon and ham are tasty, coffee gets frequent refills, and the food tastes fresh. Options are well priced and the diner keeps getting better. They upgraded to battered crispy fries. The bathroom is clean, and the service is pleasant. Holy crap! What a rip off! I'm a local to the area, and now I know this is a total trap. Mediocre did at best. Chicken parm dinner was 15 bucks, and was 4 chicken tenders with sweet sauce, yuck, and buried with cheese. Pork roll and cheese was ok, but $0.50 for side gravy, 5.80 for the sandwich, 3.95 for fries. They were good, but irked by the upcharge. Horrible food, seemed like a good idea cause I didn't think you could mess up diner food....WRONG!! The waitress was kind of older so she wasn't the best. Had a great experience for the meal and really good food. However, the bill came to $24.01. After leaving $5 on the table for a tip for the great server, i asked the man at the register if he had a penny lying around i could use. He said no and stood there looking at me. I was debating going back to the table and taking the $5 back and explaining to the server she should talk to the cashier about why she wasn't getting a tip, but I asked my wife to wait there while I had to go get A PENNY from my car. We have been visiting the Scotrun Diner a few times a year for at least 5 years as it's close to a halfway point from my home to my in-law's, so the grandkids get to see the grandparents. Although the decor is very dated, the food is consistently good. The diner has a large menu and we have never had a bad meal. Last week we had chocolate chip waffles, delicious omelettes and breakfast specials with the works. We often have lunch there and the soups and sandwiches are always delicious. One of our favorites is the classic stuffed tomato. The service is always prompt and friendly. You will never wait for a coffee refill and the place is always clean. There is an entrance in the back for those who can't navigate the stairs. I love that it's right off the highway, too. Looking forward to my next visit. read more

This Family Run Gem Never Disappoints! I've been coming to the Scotrun Diner since I moved to the Poconos in 1996. While the styling and decor is very much 1970's, it is clear that the family that run this business takes pride in their establishment. I'm a detail person who notices everything including the small details. While the decor might be from the 70's, it is spotless and clean, even the windowsills and little crevices are clean and free from dust and dirt...someone here cares about what they do. The food is very good, while I mostly go there for breakfast, I have occasionally had burgers and sandwiches which have all been tasty and very reasonably priced. The soups that accompany their lunches are always very good. For breakfast I usually get the 2 eggs with home fries, 4 sausage links and toast for $5.99...C'mon, how can you beat that? The owners as well as the staff are very friendly and accommodating. I like good food and I don't go back to places that disappoint me but I have been coming here since 1996 so that says a lot. read more

If you have to drive 5 more hours to eat something else then do it. This place to me was the worst diner I've been to in the whole country. I rather eat a dirty diaper them eat their horrible burger again. I'm in the parking lot crying as I type this because how horrible the food was. Burger comes with a soup not fries and to top it off it was chicken noodles with bow tie pasta. Again I would rather eat gum from the sidewalk in time squat then ever eat here again. Such a cute place. Really get the diner feel. Cute and cozy everyone is extremely friendly and welcoming. I came in with my fiancé and our two kids (5 and 2yrs) before our day at the water park. So as you can imagine I had two very excited, chatty kiddos no one seemed to mind. Our waitress was so sweet and very attentive. We came for breakfast and the food didn't disappoint.
