I'm caught in the dilemma of wanting to share how awesome this place is and not wanting everyone to know about it. Whatever, who cares!? Everyone should know that Seasons is the best place for legit delicious Taiwanese food. Years ago my wife used to work nearby so I'd often meet her for lunch, so we could spoil ourselves with orders of Beef and Tendon Noodle Soup and Pork Sauce Noodles respectively. We hardly come to town now (we live westside, I work westside too, while wife works at home now), but whenever we do find ourselves in town we grab a takeout order of our old favorites (don't forget to ask for their house garlic sauce on the side) and new favorites too (best, popcorn, chicken, period). read more

We enjoyed our time at this establishment. We ordered the popcorn chicken (awesome), the dumplings, (awesome), and the beef noodle chefs special (good but a little too hot). The food here is authentic Taiwanese - hard to find on this island. The service is great and the owner is super nice. My only caution .. a "2" on their heat index is very hot - the kind that numbs your mouth. The beef noodle tasted so good but about halfway through I could not taste it anymore because my mouth was on fire. I don't blame them because you can tell the food is top quality ... Amazing Taiwanese food. Very authentic. My family ordered the braised tofu, braised egg, popcorn chicken, beef noodles, and green beans. Everything was delicious, but I especially recommend the popcorn chicken! Seasons has its own take on the Taiwanese street food and it's soooo good. Definitely a must-try for anyone who loves fried chicken. The prices are more expensive than in Taiwan, but very affordable for the U.S. Expect to pay $6-$12 per dish. The only downside of visiting this restaurant during covid was that their menu is limited. Be sure to ask which items are no longer possible to make with the limited capacity policy. Got the retro beef noodles (Lv 2 spice), classic beef noodles, and popcorn chicken. They are were all really yummy. Noodles are perfectly chewy and the broth is hearty. Medium size bowls are still pretty large! The restaurant is clean, the owner is really funny and nice--he checked on us twice to see if everything is good--and you can get parking validation for the garage for the building. My fave Taiwanese place for noodles and pupus! The noodles are classic and spot on. Perfect on a cold day or just needing a braised beef fix. The real star are the pupus, the best is the super juicy chicken wings and pork chop. Breaded in rice flower and taiwanese spices, it is a refreshing flavor and texture explosion to the standard japanese panko style we get everywhere. The popcorn chicken is also fun without the bones. The BEST Taiwanese food imo. BETTER than Fookis and Mian. Wished this restaurant was on the west side it'll definitely do well. Every thing I've tried was amazing. Retro spicy beef noodle, chefs special, plain beef noodle, meatball noodle, dragon dumplings, oxtail, the popcorn chicken, end with strawberry ice cream dessert AMAZING. Was finally able to bring my husband to STE when new location opened. Now closes at 8pm! He agrees the food was worth the drive. (We live Kapolei) My kids all loved the noodles and Taiwanese popcorn chicken (non spicy) Also want to thank the staff and chef for being so kind to us. They know I LOVE spicy but when my kids come to eat they cannot handle. They will still give me spicy sauce/season on the side so we can all enjoy the food the way we like it. No pictures before we ate the food because it's too good not to eat right away. Went here today for the first time and it was great. Got the spicy beef noods with a side of fried tofu. Be mindful that their level 5 spicy is nuts. Apparently they have an eating contest around Halloween each year due to it, spiciness. Eat the tofu with the fermented veggies that come with it -- you won't be disappointed. On advice from the Lady there I got the Beef Noodle soup, took a bite of the noodles and thought not bad the flavor is decent and tried the beef also good I like how they lace it with Cilantro I picked the wrong day to eat something hot since it was a hot day but oh well. This would be great on a cold rainy day. So next time there is a cold rainy day I'm going to come visit this place again. Since it is in the Chinese Cultural Center there is parking right there but during lunch hour the parking can get quite full so be aware of that. I used to come here as a kid a lot and order the ground pork noodles and their boiled egg (they still remember me). Growing up makes life busier and I moved away for awhile but I'm back now and glad to see it's still here! This place brings me a lot of nostalgia, and it's quite a unique eatery in Chinatown considering most Chinese restaurants here serve Cantonese food. I don't know what traditional Taiwanese food is like but I can tell you that this place has great food, and my pretty Caucasian boyfriend agreed. Trust me - he is usually not all that adventurous when it comes to Asian food, so I was pretty surprised that he liked it a lot. The broth for their classic Taiwanese noodle is very flavorful - I especially like when their batch is more on the sour side. We had the tofu upon the owner's recommendation today and it was so yummy - didn't fall apart and came topped with that delicious ground pork sauce that I've loved since I was young. The noodles are the perfect texture - chewy and easy to bite through, and so satisfying! The meat in their noodles is also extremely tender, and cooked thoughtfully as per the chef (the owner's son who joined about a year ago) we spoke to. Please also have the winter melon tea! It's great for a hot summer day like today. The woman and man aren't a couple but they've built something really sweet and mom-and-pop together. Give this place a shot for lunch or dinner! There is flat rate validated parking available and they are only open Monday-Friday for lunch. Pros: What Seasons is known for is their sour/hot soup. It has braised beef, pickled pak choi,flat "udon-like" noodles, cilantro & green onions. The soup broth is kind of a cross between Chinese beef stew and Tom yang. It is really good! Works in Progress: I put it on this list because I know some people would complain about this. Again this is a no fuss restaurant. The owners are shy and don't speak that much English, so don't expect like them to converse, unless you speak Mandarin. TAIWANESE FOOD!! FINALLY!! I have been searching high and low for some Taiwanese food on island. Finally found my fix at Seasons Ice & Eatery. The owner is soooo nice and easy to talk to. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE POPCORN CHICKEN. It's my absolute favorite. The chicken, the basil leaves, just everything about it is addicting! I could eat the large portion all by myself. Walking by you would not expect to find yummy Taiwanese food here. Working in the area we stumbled upon this place and it's amazing! Such a nice change from all the Vietnamese and Chinese food establishments in the area. Actually I think it's the first place ive had Taiwanese food. It's a small restaurant but they are always friendly and welcoming whether you do takeout or dine in. The chef is very personable and a bit of a comedian. Absolutely hungry for Taiwanese food, so I stopped by today with the wife. The wife walked in, was seated to a table, presented with two menus, I'm making a long list of items to order. As soon as I walked in the restaurant to sit down after parking the car, rude, obnoxious, and bossy, cooked from behind the pie, yelled at us and told us that table is reserved. Being known to me, two gentlemen walked in the front door and pointed to our table. I explain to the chef/owner/gentleman behind the pot in the kitchen that there's no reserve sign, we walked in before them, but the chef/owner/gentleman would not have it and told us no, they were here first, and were sitting on their table. If I could l then I would give this restaurant zero stars, I felt compelled and obligated to write this review when I normally don't post, because this was in no way customer service, or a way to greet your customers when they walk in your door. No I'm sorry, no I apologize, I appreciate you coming in -- nothing. Horrible way to run a business, they need better staff and customer management, more hospitality training/skills, and - serious lesson in customer service and client servitude. Now it doesn't matter how great their food might have been or could have been, I'm not coming back ever. I wasted time coming here and I'm still hungry. Terrible! How closely does this resemble authentic Taiwanese food?? I wish I had a comparison but regardless, if you like it you like it and if you don't, oh well. Beef noodle soup: interesting flavor. While the soup is dark and thick, the flavor is still quite light even with the beefy marrow tasting broth. I want a huge fan of the flavor though. Personal taste. The garlic, vinegar and hot sauce made it easier for me to eat. They don't skimp on the meat and the noodles are plentiful. Crepe with egg: the best dish we tried. The crepe is slightly crispy and chewy with a chive and egg mixture in the middle. Blander in taste than I expected but good with the hot sauce. Taiwanese dumplings: meh. Filings were "wetter" tasting, if that makes sense. Not a lot of meat. I'd pass on this. Soy milk: good but it's from a bottle, the one you can buy at Costco. Disappointed it wasn't housemade. On the bright side, they fill the cup with chilled soymilk, no ice so you're not paying for 3/4 cup ice and 1/4 cup drink. I would try this all again if I ever went Taiwan but for now, not the biggest fan. Cash only. read more

Came here for happy hour on a Friday after work. BYOB so that's always a plus. We had the chicken wings, regular and spicy. Sooo crispy and flavorful! We had the cold drunken clams which were so refreshing. The hamachi Kama is the real deal and takes 30 minutes but well worth the wait. The Taiwanese sausage is sweet and salty with a side of fresh sliced garlic. Ono! The pork chops and popcorn shrimp are great pupus and don't forget to try the deep fried kimchi tofu! My manager said he knew a Thai spot and was going to buy lunch. No complaints on my end. Walk to the cultural plaza...get seated...check the menu...realized I just discovered a nice Taiwanese spot.
