I've been craving shabu shabu for dinner, but everywhere I've looked has been too expensive. The shabu shabu here is affordable, has a large serving size, and good! I'm very full and satisfied. Also, the service was great. Our server was super sweet and she refilled the condiments/toppings on our table without us having to ask. This is the first time I have had shabu shabu. I enjoy participative food, where I can put in what I like, talk during the experience, try out different sauces and flavors. The meat was tasty, and I loved having the mushrooms. The server pouring the broth for us afterwards was great, as it was a chilly night. I guess I will have to think about getting a hot pot. Excellent food. Four of us was hungry for Shabu Shabu while in LA visiting from hawaii. I used my yelp app to find the place. When I pulled into the parking lot, it didn't look like a mice place to eat. There was no one in the restaurant but the restaurant next door had lots of people so I thought that this place, I may not be happy eating at. But no way, we were very happy. The employees was very friendly and kind. They made us feel naturally welcomed. I'd highly recommend this place to eat. They even have sushi and it was were incredible. I don't even know how this place has 4 stars. One star solely because it has good service. Yelp makes it look like they offer a much larger variety of food but all we got offered was shabbu shabbu. But the food was truly not good. You get what you pay for I guess. We paid 50 dollars for some smelly frozen meat and then had to pay extra because we couldn't bring ourselves to finish the first round and risk making ourselves feel sick. Other than the big giant Ramen I couldn't finish which was the tankotsu Ramen, this place had really good food! The ramen was also cheap and the cheapest ramen I had ever paid for. The hot pot that we also ordered was also very good. They had half spicy and the other side sweet, for non spicy people like me. Lunch. This is a strip mall place, so it's light on atmosphere. Once I got there I realized they didn't do the "sushi" part of their name for lunch, so I had shabu shabu. The vegetables were fresh and the proteins were...fine. Not flavorful, but okay. The broth itself was just salty with that slight and disappionting chemical tang you get from cans. Based on the reviews I was hoping for a little more. Nice folks working there, but I won't be back. read more

Came here because of the 4.5 stars but this is not real Shabu. The meat was not marbled at all. It actually tasted like ham (rib eye). They were busy so service was impacted of course. We got our free roll (albacore roll with a yelp review) however it was practically a rice roll. Our food that we ordered finally came out and the dragon roll was really good. But the shabu was lacking. We ordered the Japanese dashi and sukiyaki broth. Both of these sauce was fine but we were already half way though our meal before they brought out the bowls, sauces and the condiments. Staff was friendly but just not what you would claim as real Japanese shabu. read more

How have I not come here sooner! It was cold and rainy today and this mixed sukiyaki/dashi broth and pork was perfect. The eel sushi roll was delicious (just like a Caterpillar roll) with the shishito peppers (which were only $3.59!) as an appetizer. This was the perfect amount of food. read more

F*** this place. Called at 8:25pm to make reservations and they said walk-in only. I said ok we will be there @9. What's the wait like? They said 2 tables open. We get there at 9pm (mind you they close at 10pm) we wait outside until a table clears. No waiter or waitress greets us or even acknowledged us. We wait there for 25m and 2 tables have given their checks but are still seated with no intention of leaving and no common courtesy to see that people are waiting. The workers should've at least politely asked their guests to leave... it was already 9:25 and given the time we were there and the time this place closed we looked for another restaurant that closed later. It came with lots of veggies and was very good. They give three dipping sauce - sesame, spicy, and soyish. I added green onion and garlic, and liked them all. My boyfriend and I wanted a good shabu experience in LA, and when I found this place so close to my workplace I got really excited. However we were really disappointed when we were the first ones to have our order taken, and watched everyone around us get their food before us. We waited almost an hour and a half before our meat was finally brought to us. 45 minutes after we first ordered we were told they didn't have the meat we had ordered, and so I didn't realize it would still be another 45 minutes before we finally got to eat. The servers comped two of our beers for us, but being that they were at happy hour price it just wasn't really cutting it to have $6 removed from our bill. At that point I would've expected a lot more, and my boyfriend works in the service industry so we didn't want to be rude towards anyone, but this was just ridiculous. We won't be going back. read more
