What I thought to be a nice outing turned out being a huge disappointment. It's been many months since I've been out. I'll get to the point, along with our meals, I ordered 2 of the new hot chocolate shakes to go. On the way home, I began enjoying my shake and immediately something was off. I found a piece of clear plastic in my shake. At first I thought it was from the straw but the straw was green, I just put it on a napkin and moved on. Located in the shopping plaza near the theater and food court. I'd been to other locations prior and although I get my usual burger and fries my shake flavor varies. On this particular visit I was still undecided when I reached the register but no worries, Host Demonn had a recommendation ready. I went for the Strawberry Cookie & Cream. My companion was at the register next to me and it appeared that his host also had recommendations ready to go and convinced my friend to get cheese fries with their ShackBurger and drink. Oh man, we were hyped for the meal - especially because Demonn and the other host were high-fiving us and telling us we'd love their recommendations. We quickly found a clean (it appeared that one employee was wiping them down with disposable wipes) table and were urging our buzzers to go off. Once they did we made our way back to the pick up counter where we were cheerily greeted and asked about our day - seriously, the folks who work here are super pleasant. Once back at our table we took our obligatory instagram photos and quickly dug in! And oh man were those recommendations on point! As always I loved my well seasoned burger topped with lettuce and tomato that tasted seriously fresh. My favorite part of their burgers though are their delicious buns and their thoughtful cut of the bun - they don't slice all the way through so your bun acts as a catcher for your burger -- GENIUS. The fries were again on point - crispy perfection. My lunch companion had opted for the cheese fries - I loved the detail that they come with a fry pick because hello, we're not monsters were trying to eat these cheesy fries but not get cheese all over our hands. Classy. He said the cheese was great and that his fries stayed crisp even if they were smothered in cheese. Now my shake - recommendation was SO ON POINT. Shake Shack is just outside of the Century City Westfield Food Court. It's easiest to order via their app and pick-up when ready. It took about 20 mins for the order to process, so I'd recommend ordering and driving to the mall and it should be ready. They're available for delivery from Yelp and Grub Hub (cheaper delivery). For the food: The classic ShackBurger and SmokeShack are the best. If you want traditional burger, go for the ShackBurger. If you want something a little fancier with bacon and peppers, go for SmokeShack. The cheese fries is worth the upgrade from regular fries - that cheese sauce is really good. I've had many of their chicken sandwiches: Nashville Hot, Korean Fried, Chick'n Shack. the chicken is always fried well, crispy and juicy chicken breast. For vegetarians: The 'Shroom Burger is one of the best vegetarian options at fast food joint. Who doesn't love fried portobello mushroom stuffed with cheese? Some people love Shake Shack and I don't really get it. Maybe they're from the East Coast and haven't had In-N-Out before? Anyhow, there are a bunch of Shake Shacks popping up all over SoCal and I'm still struggling to be a fan. Shack Shack has an app that you can download if you're in a rush and want to just come and pick up your order. It's not a bad route if you want to skip the lines. I got an order of the double shackburger with crinkle cut fries and I thought it was an average meal at best. Although the patty is juicy and the cheese is melted onto it, the bun doesn't hold it's integrity well. I'm all for bun integrity and shake shack just doesn't have it. While the fries were good, they came out a bit cold which was disappointing. It seems to me that they just make a huge batch of fries and just leave them under heat lamps until they're ready to be served. Love love love this place! I think I like it as it feels like fast food but I can get Prosecco here! They have so much to choose from. Burgers, dogs, shakes, chicken etc.. This one is located in the mall next to the food court area. Small seating inside and out but pretty easy to get a seat by the time you get your order. The staff is great. This was my first time trying the Shack Burger. I love the bun. It had a little sweetness to it and it was very soft. The burger was a good size, enough to satisfy me. I also ordered cheese fries. I would recommend this! The fries were piping hot and the cheese made it so much better. I would suggest to eat this right away, because the fries gets soggy and the cheese gets hard as a rock. Came here after seeing a movie. The line is usually really long but wasn't too bad when we went. There is a good amount of seating inside and some seating outside as well. They give you a device when you order and it buzzes when your food is ready. We ordered a chicken sandwich, cheese burger and one order of fries for about $20. Pretty expensive in my book for the amount of food you get. The burgers are pretty small but tasty. Chicken sandwich was also small but crispy and tasted good too. As an In-N-Out Burger fan, I've been anti west coast Shake Shack invasion. I tried Shake Shack in New York back in 2010, and I was disappointed in the burger but enjoyed the Concrete. I recently gave it another chance and ordered the Chick'n Shack (3.5 stars) and Fries (3 stars). I liked the crunchy exterior of the juicy chicken and the soft bread. The krinkles fries were good but not craveable. With 3 star service, I'm not sure I will be rushing back since there are other great dining options at the newly renovated Century City mall. read more

While I am not at all a fan of Shack Shack, this is the best location I have been to. Service was great, very fast and friendly, though our beeper went off, I happened to see my order after a few minutes and just picked it up myself. Fries were cold, they set up a bunch of orders under a heat lamp which just isn't enough. Exchanged them for fresh ones, which were again just grabbed from under the lamp, cold again. Burgers are horrible, but the fried chicken sandwich was great, just way too pricey and small. Their custard is great, that and the chicken the only thing worth ordering here. read more

I've had shake shack one other time at the WeHo location. It was when they just opened in LA and the lines were really long, and SS was hyped up. I decided then that in and out was superior so I haven't been back. Last night, I decided to try SS again because I was coming out of a movie and wanted a burger. With low expectations, their burger was better this time. I also had cheese fries here but decided I like in and out fries much more. I would come back here again for the convenience of a decent burger after a movie at the mall theater. I was attending an event with some friends at the LAX Marriott, and we decided that we need to get out of that black hole of crappy food. We split a car ride to Century City to do some shopping and grab lunch. At Shake Shack, I ordered the SmokeShack, which has bacon, cherry peppers, and their ShackSauce. Aaaand of course I had to add some fries and a chocolate cookies & cream milkshake. Oh my goodness, it was the perfect meal. I was stuffed beyond desire, but everything was delicious. I got the small version of the burger, which left sufficient space in my stomach for fries and shake. Actually, I just took most of the shake to-go as we walked around the mall. Kinda felt like I was in high school or college again. As much as I thought the burger and fries were decent, I'd probably just sneak in to grab a milkshake the next time I'm at this mall and try something else to eat. There are tons of other great eateries here, so why repeat? Most of all, I'm glad that we were able to find seating to enjoy our meal on a crowded day. read more

It's disappointing but service here is not the same as in Vegas. People seem so angry to do their jobs here. It's not a great job but the amount of staff here, this place should be clean and neat. Unhappy cashiers and unhappy cooks make unhappy looking burgers. I asked for a wrap and I got this flat looking thing of lettuce. It took me some time to find the cheeseburger - a $6 cheeseburger, mind you! I asked a server "Are you sure it's supposed to look like this?" He said something like well, without the bread and tomato, it looks small. What???? So the burger is all about the outside part and not the burger itself? Why don't you just advertise "BIG BREAD, BIG LETTUCE, BIG TOMATO, with some cheeseburger in it." I guess I can be thankful that it was small because an hour after, I had a major stomach flu and had to run to the restroom 3 times in an hour! What is going on at this location? I'm a HUGE shake shack fan. Never had an issue. We came here today for a quick lunch, and it felt as if the food was all rushed. I ordered a hot dog with cherry peppers. The peppers were thrown in the box, and were on both sides of the hot dog rather than on it, abs the dog itself was cold in the middle. The burgers truly are delicious here, and the shakes are just WOW...but I can't get over how food costs here and how tiny the portions are for what you pay. I tried the vegetarian mushroom burger, which people say is so tasty, you won't miss the beef. Indeed I had never had such a delicious fast food or fast casual veg burger as it was layers of portobello mushroom, sandwiching two gooey gourmet cheeses, altogether breaded and deep fried crispy on the outside. As you bit in, the cheese oozed out. The bun was a moist egg bread -- so good. But dang, it cost $6.99 for something that I could eat one handed (and I have small hands). The mushroom even cost more than the beef burger which costs around $5.50. We also had a strawberry milk shake for over $4 for a small, and it was so much better than In-N-Out as it wasn't artificial pink and didn't have that saccharine after taste you get from partially gelatinated milk shake experiments. It was white in color actually, with only the slightest pink hue -- I had to taste it to make sure they gave us the right flavor because it looked vanilla at first glance. I like Shake Shack, and I frequent this location pretty often. But only for its convenience to my work, not because I particularly like this location. This is located at the Westfield Century City mall, which is a popular destination for people, especially for those working in the area during lunchtime. Therefore, the lines can get really long, and the wait for food can take a while. I suggest ordering ahead on their mobile app. This is the main reason for my 3-star rating. I like the food, just not so much this location... My go-to is usually the Shroom Burger, which has no meat. Instead of a burger patty, there is a crispy portobello mushroom filled with muenster cheese. I am not a vegetarian and I typically love my meats, but this burger is BOMB. If you do want meat though, you can get the Shack Stack which is the Shroom Burger plus a burger patty. I also really like the fries here. I don't typically like crinkle cut fries because they're usually soft. But Shake Shack makes them super crispy, which I like! If you want a little extra something, you can get the cheese fries. The shakes are pretty good here too. I mean, it's in the name so they have to be right? I haven't tried too many of them though, but my favorite so far is the coffee one. read more

A pretty great selection with a few veggie choices. The portabello mushroom burger was delicious and stuffed with gooey, oozy cheese. A bit on the small side for 7 bucks, however. I also had the fries, which were also well seasoned and tender. Plus they are just a stones throw from the AMC, so you can nosh before or after your movie. read more
