Ok....it's been many years since I've tried this Shakey's here on Washington Blvd in Whittier let's see how it goes . I ordered a large thin crust pizza with pepperoni... sausage and olives with 8 PCs of chicken an Mojo's . The pizza has not changed.. it still has the same flavor and crispiness to it . The chicken was over cooked almost burnt and the Mojo's are like paper thin now . I give the pizza 5 stars for being the same texture and taste ....the chicken 0 stars for being burnt ...and the Mojo's 0 stars for being paper thin now . The dining area is huge and was very clean . I have to say, today was just a wonderful experience. My husband and I agree that this location has improved lately! We bring our girls and their teammates after practice about twice a month. It's affordable, fun, and always has good vibes. But I really have to give a thumbs up to Miss Aracely who's so attentive and is on top of everything! Her professionalism during moments of chaos is just top notch, always making sure the salad buffet and bathrooms are impeccably sanitary. She's truly the definition of more hands make less work; type of manager. And we appreciate the efforts shown. Because from the moment we first enter, being greeted by the cashier Anthony who always has a smile and wonderful customer service, to the food being served in a timely manner especially with how busy it can get, its truly a pleasure coming to this location considering there are two others closer to home. This location has just been finding ways to improve its quality and service! Place is your average Shakey's... great pizza, chicken, the mojo's . .even the salad bar is fair....the arcade is robbery for sure...but the main reason this is 2 stars is the following....service...been here multiple times, get a 10% military discount, but this time the Manager I assume states no discount on the combo meals....I get it, if I had a coupon or something different from the regular menu, ok no additional discount...but this is a regular meal combo from the menu....not mention they have done so multiple times previously... The chicken fingers were standard but good. The only thing missing with something green, any sort of vegetable would've worked. We decided to get out of the house and have pizza instead of delivery. It was worth it for the salad bar and beer but the pizza was a cracker crumbly mess. So disappointed. Did Shakey's change their crust recipe or what? We ordered the thin crust as we've done in the past. It's been almost a year since we had pizza at Shakey's and it was up in Covina. I've been coming here since the 90's definitely early 2000's. It recently looks even better inside then ever before they really revamped the walls and made it look more neat and modern. This one really burns me up! As a father of a son with a hearing impairment we go through difficulties teaching him confidence, finding his voice, and not letting his impairment stop him from anything. For the most part he's got it together and is highly respectful and an overall awesome kid. Why am I burning up right now you ask? This manager named Ernesto decided to get huffy, roll his eyes and give my son attitude when my son didn't hear him the first time. It's people like this that are not only bad for customer service, but bad for all of humanity. I own a customer service based business and we are a 5 star facility because we respect everyone that comes in to spend their hard earned dollars. Ernesto you need a lesson in customer service, and always be careful because these kids you treat like trash have parents that will go to bat for them. To the store manager thank you for the offer of a meal but I think im going to take this one up with corporate so that maybe we can get Ernesto some sensitivity training. I always say this and I'll say it again, if you can't perform your job with a smile find something else to do. This location is disappointing compare to the Pico Rivera location. There salad bar has a fraction of toppings to offer. It's hard build a salad without spilling because the top glass makes it impossible to hover over without cross contamination and spilling into other toppings. It's filthy and they aren't keeping up with re stocking fast enough for lunch. There pizza isn't as fresh seems like there only putting out one topping pizza and not offering an aray of different selections. There staff isn't going around table by table handing out clean plates. There manager makes unprofessional comments when ordering and automatically assumes you want a drink without asking for that up charge. I will wait for the Pico Rivera Location to re open than to go back to this location. A shame because I'm a daily lunch client. read more
