The dynasty roll comes with salmon and avocado inside, topped with seared yellowtail, asparagus, green onions and bonito flakes. The salmon skin salad comes with a ponzu and sweet sesame sauce that has an addicting flavor! The salmon skin was so crunchy and refreshing to eat with the lettuce and pickled carrots. I have come here for pick up orders and the staff has been lovely. I have gotten the garlic tonkotsu 2 days in row because the broth is so flavorful. I will say that the pork is a little bit thin but still delicious and the noodles are really great. They have an awesome bite to them. I just ordered ramen and sushi from here for the first time and I'm very disappointed. The broth is missing depth it just tastes like veggie broth with a bit of soy sauce. The egg is hard boiled instead of soft boiled and they didn't flavor it at all, it's just a plain hard boiled egg. The toppings are bare and I haven't even tasted my sushi yet but I can tell it is grocery store quality. As a ramen connoisseur who has had plenty of ramen in Japan, this restaurant is not the spot. read more

Tom kha ramen is amazing. It's a nice spin from the original Thai soup. Regular Shoyu ramen is not that good. The flavor of the broth is too weak and it lacks its usual creaminess. We've also tried the Pad See Ew noodles and fried rice. Both were ok but nothing special. We have not tried the sushi yet. I definitely recommend coming here for the Tom kha ramen. Prices are pretty much like everywhere else. Service has always been good for pickup. read more

The quality of their sushi was moderate, except for the ikura (salmon roe), which was foul. I love ikura, but this had an awful bitter and acrid taste that fresh ikura should not have. Also there were bits of extra chewy skin from ikura eggs that had broken and dried up. Definitely not fresh. 5 flies also made their home on the table that I was sitting at. Their drink menu is stained and the binding is falling apart. For something that looks like it was printed and spiral bound at Kinkos, they could surely replace these. read more

Ordered food through Uber eats and it's not worth the money for so little and it being poorly made. It's missing so many pieces like the spicy tuna bomb. Should've been more. The love potion was my favorite but they use to be bigger rolls and with more mango slices on top of each roll but there's like one slice per entire roll. $15 a dish is not the right charge for so little. Terrible fix it, close this restaurant or go back to being your house restaurant. You can do better than this. The rolls were all there it's just such small rolls. They use to be bigger. I think this place has potential but it seems like it has spread itself too thin with too many options. This is the first place I tried that serves both Japanese (namely sushi and rolls) and Thai dishes. The two cuisines are almost on the opposite ends of the spectrum so I wasn't sure what to expect. To make my choice even more difficult it also has several types of ramen on the menu. On my first visit I tried ramen, and came back to try some nigiri sushi (at the sushi bar). The Spicy Miso Ramen was fairly average. It didn't taste like the traditional Japanese version. The broth was spicy but lacked depth. It actually looked like it was watered down because it was quite thin and didn't have much miso flavor or texture. The noodles were stuck together when it came out. There were about four thin slices of chashu, which tasted ok, but nothing spectacular. The egg was much firmer compared to other Japanese ramen places. As far as sushi, the price was good but selection was limited. I didn't see typical items like toro and red snapper. They were also out of halibut on the day I visited, even though it's on the menu. They were kind enough to give me something else on the house so that was nice of them. As far as the overall quality of sushi, I thought they were ok but not quite at the level to get a four or five star rating. Salmon was pretty good and jumbo scallop was decent, although I have to question the freshness on scallop because it had too much lemon juice on it. Tamago was just sweet without any saltines to contrast it. There are enough options here for me to return and give it few more tries but I feel like it may take a while for me to find what I like since there are so many options to choose from. Next time I will try a Thai dish. read more

Wish I would've discovered this place sooner! Among many competing restaurants (both old and up and coming) I and most pleasantly surprised! This places is very tasty with decent portions for what it's worth. I must say I was slightly overwhelmed with all the items on the menu. It ranges from Japanese to Thai. (Ramen, sushi, rice bowls, curry, Thai noodles&soup). I went with a combo plate. The teriyaki salmon and tuna sushi roll... oh and I ordered a side of garlic edamame. OMG, the garlic edamame is delicious! It's a perfect blend of soy sauce, teriyaki, and garlic. Don't worry, the garlic is not overpowering at all, so you won't have garlic breath later. HIGHLY recommend as a starting shareable. My combo plate was more than enough food. The salmon was juicy and not over cooked and the spicy tuna sushi was fresh. I might say, it is a little heavy with a scoop of rice and a sushi roll, so maybe next time I'd pick sashimi over the roll. Don't forget to check in to get your free Thai iced tea! There is a nice sized lot for parking, and street parking is available as well. I do feel as though this restaurant can use a bit of renovation and redecorating. This has to be the best Sushi restaurant in Long Beach. I order from them at least once a week. The portions are great. The freshness is unsurpassed. Very well constructed pieces. Very tasty. I have ordered from at least a dozen other Sushi places, but I keep coming back to these guys. And believe me, I've been disappointed many times by others. Since I can't get to their location, I use Postmates to have it delivered. Only a few times I had to complain. But that was because of the delivery driver. Not the restaurant. I always get the same main course + additional solo items. The large Sushi Combo is highly recommended. A very good sampling of their delicious sushi + Miso Soup and pickled cucumber. Every time I drive by this place, it always looks so empty. This time as I was driving on PCH, I decided to stop in to see if Shin was any good...and I'm glad I did. Their lunch specials are amazing!!! You get a roll of your choosing, 4 pieces of the California roll, miso soup, a small green salad, AND a soft drink. All for only $12. Pretty good bargain if I say so myself. We decided to take advantage and ordered the King of Kings and Princess bento boxes. And also get another roll: the Orange Road (which is not part of the lunch special). King of Kings: This roll is spicy crab, avocado, and cucumber with cream cheese inside and is topped with unagi and cruncy flakes. Nothing too crazy with this roll, but it was still tasty. Princess: This roll is shrimp tempura, crab, spicy tuna, avocado, cucumber, sprout, and masago. It's topped with eel and mango sauce. Lots of flavor is this roll and easily my number one favorite of the ones we tried today. Orange Road: This roll is spicy tuna, crab meat, and topped with salmon and spicy mayo. Ooo-weee!! That spicy mayo packs a real punch. Make sure you have some water nearby. Overall, really nice stop for a lunch. Service was quick and drinks were always full.
