Weekend buffet, awesome price of $8.99 Love the buffet! - Specifically because there was pickled vegetables. Yum! - Array of salad also available. - Plenty of sauces (garlic, cilantro spicy one, cucumber, and few others). - A few vegetable selections (broccoli, green beens and eggplant which I really loved). - Rice and more rice. - A few curry items (I think there was a tray of just tikka masala sauce) - Chicken, gyro meat and kabob meat (kabob was delicious). Definitely a meal for your bucks! Will be visiting often :) A selection of pastries would be a very nice addition. Only sweets I noticed were fresh orange slices and a pudding of some sort. I'm from Chicago and I love Arab food. I missed it when I lived in Irving, but I noticed this place while driving around our new neighborhood. We went there today for the lunch buffet ($17.30/two adults including tax). I was impressed by the decor and food selection. The server came up to us right away and got us seated. The food selection was vast. There was a couple of salads, orange slices, three types of rice, one tray of hummus, falafel, some curries and three types of kebabs. When I came back to our table I noticed that, bizarrely, the server bought one glass of water for the two of us. Did she expect us to share? Not only that, the water had a strong chlorine taste which made it undrinkable. Not the best first impression as far as service is concerned. The food was strictly okay. One of the kebabs was delicious ( I believe its the kefta, made out of ground beef) but the gyros were cold and the chicken was disgusting. Seriously, I had to spit it out. It tasted old. Gross! The rice was cold too, nothing there was hot off the stove. I didn't like the fact that I had to salt up everything. As for dessert, the rose-water flavored gelatin like thing was decent but nothing out of the ordinary. We left feeling disappointed with our lunch. Overall I would not return, it isn't worth the money right now. If they kept everything heated, added drink or tea to their buffet price, more variety as far as dessert and kept everything fresh I would consider going back. I am not familiar with Arab/Persian food. I couldn't tell you what Halal meat is. Maybe I should start asking the staff, but I'm usually preoccupied stuffing my face, subequently followed by a lot of guilt and regret, and ultimately food coma. Then I pay for my meal and hobble out like a drunken orangutan. Lunch buffet: $8.99 (no drink) Been here 4 times now. The place is REAL simple. They have a chicken dish similar to chicken masala that you see at most indian buffets. However, this is SO much better that I no longer eat Indian food. I'm addicted to it like crack. I even don't mind eating their vegetables and I NEVER eat veggies from a buffet. Minus a star due to no good dessert options. Not that I usually have any room for it--Their rice dishes rock. Went here for lunch today as the name intrigued me with a desire for kabobs. When i arrived I saw they had a buffet so went with that instead. Everything i tried was pretty good, even the falafel which i don't typically enjoy was ok. My only complaint is the price for what you get. The buffet is rather small for the $12 and change cost. Honestly I can spend the same at 2 other different places close by, and they have a much larger selection to choose from. I wont be back for the buffet, but i am still interested in their kabobs, especially the Cornish hen kabob, and plan on returning to try that. read more

$9.99 Persian/Iranian lunch buffet is well worth the price. There were no names on what looked like and tasted like home cooking. An unusual condiment was a house made mint chili yogurt that was piquant and refreshing; much like an Indian mint chutney. Supple pita with lemony tabouli and tender beef kebab were wonderful. A marinated chicken served in a cream sauce was very good. Three kinds of rice were available with tender garlic potatoes. Good hummus and tzaztiki. A bargain for lunch. read more

Ok, I'm a sucker for all things shishkabob. I impulsively stopped in for late lunch, and was warmly greeted. Staff told me of the mega-buffet; after a quick visual scan that looked like the way to go. Some late lunch buffets can be cold and picked over - not the case here. And apparently this cafe is no secret, 'cause it was pretty busy. Freshest salad with just enough feta, tabbouleh, tzatziki with generous cucumber, of course our pal falafel, hummus, gyro meat, about 3 different kinds of rice, a lovely (roasted?) chicken breast with turmeric and veggies, and TONS of other stuff. I just had one plate, but if you wanted to try everything you could be here a while. Staff even checked on me a couple times, so food and service were great. Not great! Not too many choices here considering it's a buffet. The few choices they do have are not that good. Food is kind of bland and some of the dishes tasted stale. If you're looking for a buffet, you'd be better off going to Dimassi's Mediterranean Buffet which has a much better selection for almost same price just few minutes away. Plus, Dimassi's has coffee and tea included in the buffet which this place doesn't have. I guess it's worth a try for one time but I doubt most people would go back a second time. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. We walked into the establishment and were not even greeted nor seated down so we chose our own spot and the tables looked dirty. Upon getting my plate I realized they were out of forks. Then I sat down and took a bite into one of the meats which are not even labeled and it was undercooked. When I had to ask for a fork the lady seemed bothered. The staff needs to work on their manners and also label the foods! Come if you dare but I would advise you to stay far away!! read more

I just love this place ~ it's a small cozy establishment in a strip mall ~ the decor is not one of a 5 star steak house, But the food will keep you coming back. Its a simple buffet with some of the tastiest offerings in the metroplex. If you have never had the courage or desire to try Middle Eastern cuisine, I challenge you to treat your taste buds to something new and savory. Whats not to like about perfectly seasoned grilled beef, chicken and gyros. A variety of vegetable dishes, stew's and several rice dishes. WOW, super wow! Seriously, my husband and I have frequented many of the nice expensive Mediterranean places in Dallas and this is by far my favorite. I am blown away by the quality of food for the price. Buffet for 10$ really? Amazingly good food. Their beef kabobs was the best I've ever had with perfectly cooked sauteed onion and peppers, amazing chicken thigh, delicious collard greens, eggplant dish was exceptional, yummy hummus, a spicy tzatziki type sauce was superb , and yummy cinnamon dessert pudding as well! Also great lamb and pork! They had even more but those were the highlights I'd say. I am so glad to have found this hole in the wall type gem! I recommend you try this place right now!! read more

This Persian Lunch Buffet restaurant really hits the spot! They offer a variety of meats including lamb, chicken and beef prepared in a range of traditional methods. Additionally they have a few varieties of rice, vegetables and salads. If you still have room at the end fresh cut fruit awaits. I recommend the special Persian Tea served with copious amounts of sugar on the side. Even with much sugar it has a very refreshing mint taste that I enjoy. The quality of food is very good and reminiscent of a home cooked meal. The restaurant itself is small, but well suited to the number of dinners. Great place to read the paper or watch some TV alone, or really enjoy the grouping of tables by inviting some friends along. Lots of natural lighting gives a nice feel to the place too. Fancy table cloth dining it is not. However, for a moderate price it provides a good food experience worthwhile for the curious and adventurous who enjoy trying something different. read more

This review is from a visit in March and a return visit about a month later. Can't believe I'd driven past for four years and never eaten here! It's a simple buffet with enough selection to go away stuffed even if you don't like every item. The food was much fresher the first trip, it must have just come out of the kitchen. The second trip things might have been out for a while but were still hot and tasty. The first trip, I had a super friendly waitress who even fetched my self-service iced tea. She checked in with me just the right amount. Service the return trip with my husband was also good. I also liked feeling immersed a bit in another culture yet also very welcome. On this rainy Saturday night at a struggling intersection, the place was still at least half full at 7 pm. Not bad! read more

I have been here about half a dozen times; it was conveniently located when I wanted a kebab roll or gyro. The quality of the food is pretty good, but I definitely felt that their various kebab offerings were their flagship items. Not so sure about their buffet, tried it a couple of times but wasn't inspired by any particular item. I do remember their desserts being quite great though. We are on vacation and happened to stop in. We loved it. It's the perfect mix of Mom and Pop and Mediterranean. The meats were all cooked perfectly and deliciously spiced. The assortment of vegetable dishes was very much to my liking and I also appreciated their hummus. It didn't even need pita bread. My roommate and I always see this place since it's right in our neighborhood and we finally get to try this place out! We walked in cautiously because we didn't know what to expect, but a server immediately came to our aide. She was really helpful about letting us know what types of food there were on the buffet, as she suggested to us since we were newbies. Also, she let us know that the food was Mediterranean-Kurdish cuisine. My roommate went in thinking it was Indo-Paki so he was looking for Naan and Chicken Tikka. No Naan or Chicken Tikka here, but there was plenty of fresh pita bread and grilled meats coming off of the hot skewers. The hummus they had was pretty decent. My roommate was totally digging the hummus, but I kind of thought it was a little bland for palate. On the evening buffet they had several types of rice, different kinds of meat sauces?, and several types of kabobs. The kabobs were of the chicken, Kubideh (ground beef), and fish variety. On the menu it said they have Salmon, but the fish on the buffet was some sort of white fish. All the meats were coming fresh off the grill, so that was a real plus. Seriously , the food here was great and the service was awesome. The cook even came out asking if things were cool and our server chick was really friendly and informative. I noticed on the menu that they have gyros, so maybe that's something I'll try on my next visit. read more

I've been off SC for a little over a year. I got tired of the inconsistent food. The Service has always been great, but the food was meh. I got roped into coming here for lunch today and I was pleasantly surprised. The Koobideh was great as was the barg. The rice was perfectly cooked (which is easier said than done). They've expanded the buffet and included a bunch of new dishes. They even have an extended vegetarian section. The service is still impeccable and it's an extremely clean restaurant. What a wonderful hole in the wall, although I despise the "hole in the wall" label. It felt like being in a deeply rooted local cafe in Lebanon for some reason. The waitress and chef were kind and thoughtful. The dinner buffet is frequented by local fans as well who take their time to eat and relax. The beef kabobs are the best I have ever had, loaded with that grill flavor and not overly spiced like most places. The hummus is soft and just right. The vegetables are not overcooked. This was horrible. We went as a family to celebrate Eid . After reading all the rave reviews we decided to give it a go. The server girl didn't speak English or understand a word we said. She kept forgetting our order and had to be reminded numerous times. We grew up eating middle eastern food, this was horrible. No flavor, bland, and tasteless. However, the service was pleasant and welcoming and the quality of the food that we tried was high: fresh and tasty given that it was buffet. Interior design was Mideast homelike and unpretentious with some unusual Western wall hangings scattered here and there. A flat panel TV played international soccer while we ate. A nice local spot with a modest menu of various Greek/Persian offerings to try--during our visit, several parties came in and partook of the takeout menu. read more
