Found this hidden gem in nimitz with my friends. I have been looking for a good thai food place with affordable price and this is it. We came at around 6:30 pm so it was packed and there were people waiting but we only waited for about 15 minutes. There is plenty garage parking behind the establishment. I love the ambiance of this restaurant, its very welcoming and it feels like youre eating at home. I love the wall decorations especially the traditional thai culture picture frames. We ordered three dishes for the three of us. The servings are just right for the prices. We also had a little leftover to take home. All three dishes were very tasty and flavorful. The green curry is sooo good! Its so creamy and tasty. My favorite thai dish is pad thai and i think this place has the best tasting pad thai i ever had. It was perfect. I was expecting the thai iced tea to be super sweet just like how it usually is but it wasnt. The sweetness is just right, which i love. The food wait wasnt that long and the service is not bad. This is my favorite Thai restaurant on the island. I love how authentic the food are at the restaurant. My go-to favorites are: chicken satay, cellophane noodle salad (Yum Woon Sen), and thai boat noodle soup. YES, they have boat noodle soup and they are amazing. The noodles are soaked in super rich flavored broth. Their thai iced tea is also something special here as well. It's not your typical super sweet thai iced tea sweetened by condensed milk. The food was excellent. Can't go wrong with any of the curries as long by as its pair with a nice tall glass of Thai tea. The restaurant was nice and clean and there is plenty of parking. Parking can be tricky. If you park outside, it's pretty tight when you back out since the parking stalls are slanted and there is only one real driving lane. Not much to maneuver. If you park inside some stalls are reserved for business and the ones not reserved are tiny. Overall a great place. read more

This place is located in the same complex as Eagle Cafe on Nimitz Highway. The dining area is spacious. We had a 10 person party once and it still felt pretty comfortable. The staff is friendly and courteous and it looks like they have a full bar. Okay now the food...Calamari is a great starter. Enough for a party of 4 to share. The fried chicken is also another. As for the entrees, the traditional Pad Thai with pork is excellent especially paired with the Panang Curry! The fried fish is also very tasty. Lots of veggies and the sauce is sooo good! Food was spicy and delicious. Ingredients tasted fresh, burning Thai chili, fresh lemongrass in Tom yum, garlic fish had raw chopped garlic on top of crispy fried fish. Portions were large and spice level was on point. I highly recommend the beef jerky with papaya salad, so good. read more

Every so often I like to get together with my friends Sharon H. & Linda C. so we can catch up on things, and have a wonderful meal together. After searching around on Yelp.......I came across a place called - Siam Garden Cafe. This Thai restaurant is located at the Nimitz Business Center.As I drove up to the restaurant, I was lucky, as I was able find an open space just in front of the restaurant. I must say tonight the restaurant was packed! There were a lot of people waiting outside of the restaurant, and when I went inside, every single table was taken in the beautiful restaurant. What can I saw about the place.........beautiful trendy Thai decor in the restaurant..........I was surprised with the volume of people who came here to eat, as from the outside of the restaurant, you wouldn't know how popular this place was. We ordered following items tonight - 1 Fried Chicken - Thai style fried marinated chicken served with a sweet & sour dipping sauce. 2. Drunkard's Noodles - Stir fried noodles with basil, chilies, & garlic. We ended up getting the medium spicy noodles which was still pretty hot. 3. Papaya Salad - Thailand's most popular salad. Made from green papaya, long beans, tomatoes, chilies, & lime. The salad is prepared mild, medium or spicy. 4. Garlic Fish - Crispy deep fried fish sprinkled with fried garlic flakes and served with spicy & sour dipping sauce. Can be prepared either as fillet pieces or a whole fish. We ended up getting the whole fish. This restaurant also serves Jasmin rice, brown rice, & the famous sticky rice too. Let's get down wid' da grub............ The Fried Chicken was a HOME RUN! They really knocked this dish out of the ball park! Man it was so goooooooood! Chicken was marinaded perfectly & fried to a crispy golden brown. A sweet & sour sauce provided with the fried chicken really complemented this dish well. As for the Drunkard Noodles.........this was also a hit for me! Very tasty stir fried noodles, it was a wee bit on the very spicy side, as we had ordered it and asked for a medium spiciness. Papaya Salad.....another winning dish! A light & delicious salad. The only thing I didn't like about this dish, was the way they had presented it. I could not understand them cutting a side of cabbage with the salad. When I looked at the salad, I was wondering how you would eat that?.........Do we cut it up ourselves? Wassup with dat? I think they should have found a way to integrate the cabbage with the rest of the salad, if they had done that, it would have been a superb salad! Last of all the Garlic Fish...........this dish for me was a total fail! As beautiful as it looked, I must say the fish was overcooked, so the meat of the fish was a bit hard. The sauce that was served with the fish was delicious, but too bad the fish was over cooked. I would probably pass on this item. Of course when you have all of this hot & spicy grindz, a ice cold Heineken was the perfect drink to soothe your taste palate when eating all of this spicy foods. They also serve 3 types of rice here, they had brown rice, Jasmine rice, and of course the famous Thai sticky rice too! After talking about all the good food we had..........why the 3 star rating? Well, I must say the service was real poor tonight, It took forever for the waitress to come by to drop off water, & take our order. Also, we repeatedly had to ask the waitress to bring our beers, and not once did she come by to check on us after the food was dropped off. When we needed other things like napkins, I ended up asking another waitress to take care of our request. And for the rest of the night, I did not see our waitress again. When it was time to settle our bill, another waitress ended up bringing the bill. Would I come back here again? I get there intending to purchase a couple dishes but walk out with 6 dishes: 1) summer rolls: made upo order. best I had yet 2) stuffed chicken wings: lots of stuffing and tasty (little peppers inside) 3) fish patties: okay 4) pad thai noodles with chicken: good. order is LARGE 5) green curry with shrimp: excellent (with sticky rice of course) 6) papaya salad: okay The restaurant was packed!!! and there was a waiting line. This place ROCKS!! Definitely my go to place for Thai food in town. Excellent food, price, portion, customer service, ambiance and parking. Realistically, what else could you ask for? Great vegetarian options despite the fact that I had ordered a tofu Massaman curry but since they make it early in the day - the only option they had was a beef Massaman. I fell off the vegetarian wagon and did enjoy that Massaman curry, I figured I could always pick the meat out since I love this style curry. Major fail on the self imposed diet restrictions but it was so worth it.I could taste bits of grated coconut in the curry as well as the melody of sweet and spicy in the dish. This was my favorite dish and yes, I wanted to lick the bowl clean and dry. The drunken noodles with seafood was quite tasty as was the pad thai. Pad thai noodles were equally moist, flavorful and fresh tasting. The vegetables were not soggy and stewing in the noodles at all. I'd argue that this entree was made to order and not mass produced for the pm service. Really quite the freshest pad thai I've had in a long while. Having eaten here now, I feel compelled to edit many of my Thai restaurant reviews. This becomes my gold standard (short of going to Thailand and having a 5 star Yelp meal there) and being a Thai food lover this place has raised my bar. PARKING: if you can't find parking in the front there is plenty of parking in the "structure," and behind the building. Ugh. I'm sorry to give such low stars. This place is located on Nimitz center near nice to meet you, so we decided to give it a try. You walk in and if it's busy, write your name down. we came around 630pm on a Wednesday night and there's a wait even though there's table open. We waited about 10mins then got called. Service was bad, they didn't come and check up on us. I ordered the crab fried rice, it was alright. A little odd to me there was huge slices of tomato and a lot of onions. I did see lots of crab meat in my rice and the taste was good, not salty or too bland. Daven got the Drunkard noodles and he liked it. Although the dish just looks like a Chinese chow fun, he said it tasted like Thai noodles. Maybe I should order the curry next time and I won't be so disappointed. read more

I love this place! It was almost empty on a Saturday night. Food is yummy. We normally get the green curry chicken and pad see you but this time we branched out a bit and got glass noodles. Many people don't know about this place, until you mention that it's located next to "Sensually Yours". Once you mention the name of that store, Siam Garden is instantly on the map. Go figure! The waitresses are very friendly and attentive. The food is consistently good. On this visit it was just the two of us so we just ordered the spring rolls, pad thai and fried chicken. There were other things that we wanted to order but it would have been way too much food because the portions are generous. Thai food is like chinese food - way better consumed in large groups. Siam Garden came highly recommended by a coworker of mine. It's on my route home, so it's very convenient!! Located in the small shopping center called "Nimitz Center," I probably would have never stopped in if it weren't for the word of mouth. Besides, I already have a favorite Thai place in Salt Lake. But, after today's visit, Siam Garden is now the front runner!! The interior is charming. It looks clean, it smells clean, and is very organized with place settings already on the table (plate, napkin, fork & spoon). It's bright and airy, which I would have never thought by the looks from the outside, and is nicely decorated with Thai wood carved furniture. Thai television, Thai music, and lovely portraits of Thailand all make me want to go back to Phuket asap! I was feeling like curry, so I ordered Red Curry (mildly spiced) with a side of Jasmine rice, and a Thai Iced Tea. The Red Curry (Gaeng Daeng) is a coconut curry sauce with lots of bamboo shoots, a touch of sweet basil, a few slices of green/red bell pepper, and chili (plus your choice of chicken, beef, pork, shrimp, or seafood). I ordered mine with Shrimp, which were probably the freshest shrimp I've had on the island. They were plump, nicely steamed, and already peeled down to the tail. So, no fuss & no mess. Overall, this has been the best curry dish I've had since arriving in June!! Highly recommend it!! Just look at the photo and you'll instantly fall in love like I did. The tall glass of Thai Tea was a nice compliment to the red curry. I'm already looking forward to coming back so I could try everything else on the menu, especially for take-out. We were a bit hesitant but hungry-so we came since it was so close. We love Thai but so many places are just meh... but I trust my fellow Yelpers to steer me to a good place. We were late for lunch or early for dinner ~4:00 and there was only one other table with a party of 2. My husband ordered the Fried Chicken for appetizer. I thought he was crazy since I don't usually think of it as Thai but when it came to the table, my mouth about dropped open. It was a huge amount and beautifully brown and very crispy. And the chicken was so flavorful! Then the Thai chili dipping sauce gave it an extra zing. YUM! My husband ordered the Pork Thai Fried Rice and Garlic Fish fillet. The rice was so much better than the other restaurants we've tried. The fish were deliciously crisp with an amazing flavor. In the bottom of the dish was a hot & sour sauce that was perfect with the fish. I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai and Yellow Curry with Chicken. The Pad Thai was wonderful. Full of great flavor and not full of the tamarind that makes it too sour. It was perfect- with bean sprouts and chopped peanuts. The Yellow Curry was curious-it had no heat or flavor. I asked, what seemed to be the manager, what could it be. She asked how they could fix it -not spicy and I said honestly, it needed flavor. She was so nice and took it immediately to the kitchen. It was perfect when it came back. Just like I like-so flavorful and spicy. It also didn't come with steamed rice so I ordered a small bowl also. Everything was exceptionally good. We are thrilled to find a place so close that has wonderful food. Our bill came to $54.92 for 1 app, 4 entrees and a side of steamed rice. Wow. The bag was huge with leftovers!! Excellent Thai food. After trying dozens of Thai places here, Siam Garden is among my top 3 for Thai. The flavors are pretty explosive and the service isn't bad either! We had: Curry crab - My favorite of the night, it's mashed up crab meat in curry sauce with extremely assertive flavors. Great with the sticky rice! Five spice pork - A whole fried pork knuckle. The fatty parts are the best. Fish fillet with lime and garlic - Tender fish fillet pieces. Pad kee mao with beef - Really good and the beef is tender (though not spongey like in Chinese restaurants) Isaan sausage - Interesting addition to the menu, it's sausage but with Thai nuanced Thai flavors. Fried chicken - Delicious appetizer and spot on with the chili sauce. Spring rolls - You can never go wrong with spring rolls my friends. The restaurant has the regular stuff, but I'd recommend going out of your comfort zone and trying their specialties! You might be pleasantly surprised. read more

This is one of my go to spots when I'm having a Thai craving close to home. It's located on Nimitz highway in the same complex as Eagle Cafe and Sensually Yours. There's a bunch of free parking in the front and back of the restaurant and I think they're closed from certain hours throughout the day. The restaurant is pretty clean and the wait staff can speak decent English. Some of my fave dishes here include the Thai green curry, sticky rice, Thai fried rice, and Drunken noodles. Don't forget that yummy Thai tea tho! The portions are pretty big and the prices are reasonable too. Only thing is that they do have a disclaimer saying they use MSG. This place is located on Nimitz where the red awning is. Sensually Yours is on the same strip. That's the best way to describe it. Ha! There is usually a decent amount of parking in their lot. I have been here many times and yes, the service is not consistent. When I'm with a mixed group during lunch hour, you can get less than favorable service. Today, we arrived around 2:15pm, all asians/mixed Thai (not to be racist) and received great service. The restaurant was not busy so I am sure that helped. 1st of all, if you're like me, you have your favorite(s) go-to Thai restaurant. I am no different. 2nd, the consistency of heat lacked today. We ordered everything medium. They all came out with different degrees of heat. Disappointing. Also, the flavors here are very prominent. Panang curry. This is one of my favorites. I usually order the pineapply curry here but I changed it up. Their version has a strong peanut taste with tiny bits of peanuts chopped into it. It's also really thick which i love. The heat was more hotter than medium but not Thai hot. Def had kick to it. I ordered veggie with tofu and it had lots in it. Yet still, I think I'll stay with the pineapple curry here. Yellow curry. Also had a nice kick to it and thick. I hate watery curry, so this works. Although I didn't order this I did try it. If you're fond of Indian cuisine, you'll like this. Def more on the Indian side. Mind you, they pile on the veggies, and give little meat. For me, a vegetarian, this is fine. For my brother, he wanted more meat. Massuman curry. This was a disappointment. The meat was slivered and not chunks (like Malee, hint hint). Also it was very very mild. There was also a strong peanut taste that was not subtle. Now, although not bad, was not great. Malee and Chiang Mai do it better. Fried chicken. I was told it was more like fried skin and cartilage. Very little meat. Skip this. Disappointment. Ginger chicken. Taste was ok. Lots of slivered ginger and tons of bell peppers, onions. We asked for no mushroom. There is also very little chicken in this dish. Thai Ice Tea. Theirs is usually good but today, had a strong black leaf taste, also like gasoline or something gone rancid. Def not good. A child (maybe 6?) which I'll assume is one of the waitresses' kid was helping to clean tables, set up etc. One part of me thought it was endearing and good start to work ethics, but another part of me was a bit turned off as she was also eating cookies with another hand. I was wondering about how hygienic things were and what the girl actually touched food-wise. I'll still patron this establishment, but will keep them on the back burner. read more

Siam Garden is my go-to Thai Restaurant. They have a variety of food from salads, soups, noodles, meats, seafood and chicken. They also habe jasmine rice, sticky rice, and brown rice. Alcohol is available and Thai tea. I feel that the decorations and fake plants is a little tacky and they could do without. There's plenty of seats and booths for any size parties. There's parking in front and behind the restaurant. I just found out that there's a poke stop in the same building as well as pokemons. Lol. I ordered tom yum soup medium and green chicken curry mild. Their mild flavor is still a bit spicy so be aware!! Most of their food has a selection of spice level. On this day, I had my boyfriend call to make a take out order but the line was busy. When I came into the restaurant there was one customer. You can imagine how confused I was. I still would recommend to call in take out orders because the restaurant may be busy and to keep your wait at a lesser time. I've dine-in multiple times and the waitresses are very prompt and nearby if you need anything. I've always left with a happy tummy. I hope you will have the same experience like me! read more

If you have the perseverance to keep trying things on the menu, you will be rewarded by some gems, and disappointed by some duds. I have fluctuated between giving this place 3 stars and 5 stars because it's been inconsistent, so I think 4 is fair. Here's what I've liked: - Massaman curry. Their curries run on the spicier side, so I like to order it mild and then add chilies to make it to my taste. This curry has a nice thick gravy, and interestingly they use large chunks of pork, rather than small pieces. It's very tender and melts in your mouth. - The Nam Toc (beef salad with rice flour) is really good. It's a decent portion of meat and fresh veggies and herbs with a tangy spicy sauce. Reminds me of my Thai friend's home cooking. - Fried shrimp appetizer is good. Perfectly cooked with a sweet chili dipping sauce. They give you a lot of shrimp (~10-12 pieces). It's wrapped in a fried lumpia wrapper. I just wish it had more veggies like the spring rolls dish. - Sticky rice is legit. You can spot a fake Thai restaurant if they don't have sticky rice or can't cook it. The disappointing dishes- - Cellophane noodle salad (like a Thai pancit or long rice dish). I think whoever was in the kitchen fell asleep when they were pouring in the fish sauce and lime juice because it was WAY overpowering. I mean soaked and wet with tangy salty nastiness. I cringe when I think about the taste and my mouth waters (like that li hung mui feeling, but in a bad way). Ugh. Avoid!!! - Spring rolls- theirs are just ok. Not spectacular and not a big portion. - Jungle curry- this was watery and bland and didn't have much meat or veggies. It was all liquidy sauce. The chicken they put in the curry is oddly shaped/ cut. Kind of reminded me of squid slices. (Shudder) Other stuff to know- - Decent sized restaurant, nice decor. - Friendly and helpful staff. - They have a carousel of spices and peanuts, just ask for it. - imported beers are $4. - wine is $5 per glass, $20/25 a bottle or you can pay a $10 corkage fee and BYO. - plenty of parking! - decent hours, definitely open later than most restaurants in this neck of HNL. read more

My boyfriend doesn't really eat too much Thai food so I didn't know if he would like the food or not. I'm a Thai food lover and will eat drunken noodles anytime, anywhere. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very cute with antique pictures on the walls. Due to covid they had QR codes on each table in order to view the menu which I really appreciated. I ended up getting the spicy drunken noodles and my boyfriend got the regular drunken noodles. It was honestly the best drunken noodles I've ever had. We also had the summer rollers and that was just as delicious. I found this restaurant through Yelp and I'm so thankful that I got to eat here. This would've been a five-star review until I recalled that many Yelpers mentioned MSG, and looked at pictures of the menu again only after my friends and I finished eating, and the menu states, "We use MSG." No wonder this was supposedly one of two "best Thai restaurants" on island (the other best is Opal Thai. Go there instead!). No wonder my friends and I were silently gorging our papaya salad, Pad Thai, and curries for the first two minutes. It's the MSG! After the Floating Lantern Festival, my friends and I were feeling Thai, but my favorite Thai place, Opal Thai is closed on Mondays! Ok, the "other" favorite Thai restaurant on island it is--Siam Garden. Can't say much about the food because the MSG kicks up flavors, a win by default. The medium heat of the Yellow Curry and Jungle Curry, with the spicy heat of the papaya salad had a good burn. The MSG plus the expansive menu at reasonable prices are guilty pleasures. Seriously, if you were free to choose, go to Opal Thai, now in Chinatown, if you're up for Opal's personality and fresh, unique Thai dishes. I can't believe some Yelpers consider this place better than Opal. Heck, the unaffiliated Siam Express Kitchen in the Waimalu Shopping Center in Aiea is another good option. With it's convenient location and late hours for the "Thai food munchies," Siam Garden is good for an occasional treat. I don't necessarily believe a restaurant with MSG, not natural ingredients as its secret weapon, should be called "the best," though. (My childhood favorite Chinese restaurant in San Diego which probably still uses MSG is my exception!) read more

I was really looking forward to eating authentic Thai spring rolls with the bubbly skin. I got something that looks more like egg rolls with only one piece of lettuce for five egg rolls. I guess if you're a tourist and don't know any better or this is the only Thai restaurant close to you, it would suffice. Went here with our daughter and grandson. Ordered four dishes and was not positively impressed. All four lacked flavor and none of it really screamed Thai. We're used to the heat, the lime flavors, the cilantro, the Thai sauce flavor. And this stuff looked the part but fell short. The chicken larb was salty and the rest was just okay. The stir-fried cashew with pork came close, but... have had better at food trucks. Based on food, the place is 2 stars. Great semi hidden cozy place on Nimitz near Home Depot intersection. Food was really tasty, atmosphere was relaxed. Only reasons for not giving five stars is I didnt see any Lemongrass dishes (which i love), and the tables were high in relation to the seats-making my gf and I feel like kids trying to reach our food lol. read more

One of my favorite Thai restaurants. Their beef pad Thai, chicken tom yum, beef drunkard noodles, papaya salad (Lao style) is superb. Some restaurant Thai hot isn't all that spicy, but Siam Garden's Thai hot is actually hot. So be careful. I normally just ask for hot/medium hot and request for the peppers on the side and add as I go. The only issue with them is that their phone doesn't work sometimes. So it's hard to call to ask if they're busy or to put in a take out order from time to time. read more
