    Blue berry pie
    Dean N.

From seating, to waitress service, to food serving was very smooth. I give service operations an A. The blue berry lives up to the hype. I had blue berry pie through out New England tour and this was my favorite. Location is also quieter than eating on Main Street.

We came here for lunch while on vacation, parking is crazy, but so worth it. There was no wait and our server was awesome. Her work shirt said, Be nice or leave, lol I loved it. I got the lobster and the Bang Bang shrimp. They both were amazing. Definitely stop here if you're in town.

After driving the 27-mile loop road of Acadia National Park, we stopped back at our motel and realized we were too tired to go out to lunch. However, we weren't too tired to eat it, so we had the food delivered from Side Street Cafe. So glad we did it that way cuz it was terrific... and easy to arrange ! My hubby ordered their Cubano sandwich while I ordered a cheeseburger. He loved his Cubano, which came with a side of mac 'n cheese. The mac 'n cheese was light in flavor, I think because of the kind of cheese used. I prefer more flavor, but it wasn't bad either. My( burger was quite large, and it was really tasty... very nicely seasoned beef patty, and it had all the things I like... cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle.... and catsup. I was very happy. It came with fries, but I had my fill of fries with all the lobster rolls I had ordered along the way, so I didn't eat them. Plus, there was a slice of blueberry pie calling out to me, so I wanted to blow my calories with the pie... and so glad I did cuz it was another spectacular piece of blueberry pie. Against my will, I split it with my hubby. Lol. It was a great way to end our meal. (Turns out we never got dinner that night cuz we were so full from such a nice lunch.) Side Street Cafe is definitely going on my radar if we're ever fortunate enough to return to Bar Harbor.

It was packed on a rainy day! We only had to wait a few minutes for a table though. They do have outdoor seating, but with the rain, we sat inside. Service was friendly. Clam Chowder: creamy, but on the thinner side. There were a decent amount of clam chunks. Bangin Shrimp Mac: definitely a bangin sauce. I enjoyed the kick that the sauce added. The shrimps were fresh and decently sized. The mac was creamy and cooked well. Blue Shirley: nice twist to a Shirley Temple with the blueberry syrup instead of grenadine. It was not too sweet. I love the blueberries and made sure to eat them all! Overall, a nice spot to grab a good meal. They do have some outdoor seating, which would have been nice on a non rainy day.

The best slice of blueberry pie I have maybe ever had in my life. It's worth coming here for that alone. While visiting Bar Harbor, my friend, and I stopped here for lunch after a long morning of hiking in Acadia. It was the perfect comfy, carb loaded meal that we were looking for! I got the create your own mac & cheese, and it was delicious. Such a huge serving, that I probably could have shared it! Our server was also lovely and so helpful while deciding what to order. We sat outside in their patio because it was such a nice day, though their indoor seating also looked nice. But the highlight for me was the pie. Such a perfect balance of crust versus filling, crystallized sugar on top to add a sweet crunch, and a nice generous scoop of vanilla ice cream to go with it. I regret not coming back here at least one more time before we left Bar Harbor to get it again. All the more reason for me to plan another trip, I suppose! :)

We were choosing among the many (!) restaurants in Bar Harbor, and were directed to Side Street Cafe by our hotel. We ordered the lobster roll along with a Southwestern Salad with a catch of the day. Prices are high - with a lobster roll coming in at just under $40 and the salad with fish over $25. Food was standard, and did not seem to warrant the very high prices. Lobster, in particular, did not live up to reputation of Maine lobster. Service is very kind and efficient.

This was my favorite meal over our three days in Bar Harbor. This place gets very busy during peak season but has so much seating between the main restaurant and the annex. As a party of two, we were able to immediately get seats at the bar. We enjoyed a beer and a cocktail to start, and the loaded potato skins, southwestern salad, and prime steak & cheese sandwich. Everything was delicious. The bartender initially ran my card on the wrong bill, but another staff member was able to correct it.

Without a doubt, the best lobster roll we've had since we entered Maine!!! We tried the lobster quesadilla and it was an eight out of 10, but we were hoping it was stuffed full of lobster and it wasn't. The lobster roll though you gotta get that. The blueberry pie with ice cream is life-changing..

We heard great things about Side Street Cafe so we went for dinner - unfortunately the Side Street Cafe side was full but we got seating at their sister space, the Annex, the music venu next door. It had the exact same menu - we were afraid it would be too loud once the music started, but it was not. The servers were very friendly and prompt and the menu was interesting enough, kind of heavy on the BBQ. Two of us got the Bulgogi Lettuce Wraps and they were impossible to eat - basically big floppy pieces of lettuce filled with drippy ground beef, pickled veggies and sauces. No WRAP about it - so total fail there, it was really just eating hamburg and some pickles off a lettuce plate. Honestly I think this place is over-rated. It has some very nice outdoor seating to watch crowds if you get lucky and get a seat on the deck, otherwise we weren't all that impressed by what this place had to offer, we should have gone somewhere else. The band was okay though but we weren't there for music...

Clam chowder was excellent and I enjoyed my lobster roll. The lobster tasted fresh and not fishy and was cooked correctly with proper texture (not rubbery) Fries were good. The blueberry pie was excellent, strongly consider this choice. Crust was delicious and it was an excellent piece of pie. Service was fantastic. Server was patient with us and answered all of our questions and attended to us promptly multiple times throughout the meal to attend to our needs. Had a good experience!

I will forever be dreaming of this blueberry pie. The blueberry pie here is AMAZING. I have never had a better tasting pie before. If you come here, please get it, you will not regret it! All of the other food we had was delicious as well! Especially their mac n cheese. We were there for happy hour and decided to get the $5 mac n cheese and it was HUGE. Such a good portion for a fantastic price point. The sandwiches we got were also delicious, I recommend the steak and cheese. For drinks, I loved my blueberry shirley. My fiancé loved the mango margarita. You can tell they use fresh ingredients! Overall, the food and drinks here are delicious! My favorite place to eat while in Bar Harbor. Plus the service is sooo good. Our server was so sweet!

Nice cafe! Our family stopped at the Side Street Cafe Restaurant. It was nice good food. The three amigos appetizers were good. We like the vegetable stew. The quinoa bowl was good. The lobster salad was nice. The fried fish burger was good. Service was very good.

So so yummy! Loved our lobster rolls and chowder, and the drinks were refreshing and strong!

As stated above, the fish and chips is the thing to get here. The fish is clearly fresh (not frozen), cooked to order and has an almost unbelievable level of perfect crisp on the batter that coats it. It's also wonderful to see that they're serving it with some fresh-cut fries as there's such an overwhelming improvement in both taste and texture that you get with fresh (never frozen) fries. The fries are also perfectly cooked with a good crisp on the outside, but still fluffy potato in the middle. They then went the extra step and have house-made tartar sauce and slaw to go with it. It's a simple dish in concept, but this place goes the extra mile to make you something that's both delicious and worth coming back for. The dining room is on the smaller side, so if you have a large party it would be a good idea to call ahead and make a reservation to be sure there's a place for your entire group when you get there. I came a little later in the evening (maybe around 7pm) and found it to be pleasantly quiet, though not empty. I was greeted quickly by the owner and seated quickly. I also found the staff to be pleasant and fun to chat with while I waited for my food (I sat at the bar). It's also worth noting they have a full bar and a good choice of local draft beer to choose from.
