From the food side point- it is true the best, excellent prices, good atmosphere, heck even has beer ! Food service is good , made main by one person - the owner. Not a bad to say about it so far! My best advice is try it and you make your own opinion! read more

Another gem in AZ. Bought lunch for the fam and here is my review. Full disclosure: I base my reviews of sandwich shops on their ability to make a good Italian sub. Check that off, I had the spicy Italian sub and it was excellent. Veggies were fresh, meat was very tasty, good meat to veg ratio, bread was fresh and soaked up the oil/vinegar without falling apart, provolone on point, top it off with herbs/parmasan, I would absolutely order again. My brother had the pastrami/turkey, said it was delicious and he devoured it. My SIL got the meatball sub, loved it and mom got the Buffalo Wrap, and she loved it as well. All said they would re-order. Once again, the only thing stopping me from 5 , was no fresh cut fries. While they were in fact good, they weren't fresh cut. Staff were friendly and cheerful. All I can say is I love subs and I try every new sub shop I possibly can... and this one completely blew all others out of the water. I had the special - Ham & Swiss, and it was incredible. I also had to try a peanut butter cookie because they looked too good and I was not wrong - one of the best cookies I have ever had (and I'm not a sweets person at all). Been wanting to go back here again and happened to be in the neighborhood so I stopped by and ordered up the Spicy Italian. Everything in the sandwich was pretty standard fair. However, the bread seemed stale and overly dry and hard. Bread is the one thing that really needs to hold up and if it doesn't, well the sandwich can't make the grade. Ok why is everything closed on Sundays in Gilbert!?!?!! I was looking for sandwiches and finally found this was the only place open!! Whatever, I'm hungry, I don't care. The menu was huge, too many options. Nothing really stood out and sounded amazing. Staff was friendly and patient. Place was clean and fun. Good beer options, but didn't order any. SURVEY: when you see "steak sandwich" what do you think that means? ... I assumed, a thick cut steak... which sounded amazing. It was actually thin cut, shaved like a philly... I was disappointed. But could of been my fault. Flavor was ok, but lacking. But the kicker, bbq, ranch, chicken, jalapeños ... it was amazing. Great combination, wouldn't of thought of putting that all together. Macaroni salad. Honestly, I'm still not sure how I feel about this. Flavor was really good, even had cheese in it, but noodles were long, flat like kraft Mac n cheese... it was weird. Idk why but it bothered me. I think if they used normal elbow pasta it could be the best I've ever had... but pasta shape matters!! Went for lunch today and this place is BUSY.... which is great for them. Being my first time in I was a bit overwhelmed as I thought I could choose more of my own toppings. He said it was very good but this is just way to fast paced for me and I didn't get the toppings I wanted as every sub already has them choose so, you choose what you don't want. Amazing gem of an eatery! I had found this place and yelp and there was a 15% off coupon for checking in. I got the seafood sub and my friend had the bbq sub. Mine was delicious! Perfect amount of veggies, sauce, and meat! Can we just take a second to talk about those cookies?! I thought Subways cookies were the ultimate. Today I was proven wrong. These cookies are loaded with thick chocolate chunks and they're heavy! Pretty sure I almost broke the table putting my cookie on it. Overall this place has a fun and busy vibe. Pretty crowded at lunch time, but it cleared out fast. It is a little more on the pricey side. For two subs, two drinks, and a cookie I ended up paying $21. That was with 15% off. The only bad part is the limited hours of operation so make sure you check hours for the day if you are driving a far distance. I even forgot to add olives to my sons order and when asking the cashier I believe it may have been the owner making the sandwiches replied back don't worry we got it buddy. This was our first time here and boy have we been missing out. You start out with counter service. The line was long even at 1:30 pm but it moved very fast. The food listed is on a chalk board above but there is drinks and chips off to the side that you can get. It seems that the chalk board Menu is smaller then what I saw on line, but there was still plenty of choices. I got the Roast Beef and Turkey and Doug got the Bomb. After we ordered we found a seat which is lucky because this place was full. We only sat for about 10 minutes before our name was called. My sandwich was huge and stuffed. I could only eat half. It was perfect made to order. Doug's Bomb, he said was really good and of course he finished his Sandwich. The bread is delicious, and the meat was plenty. They don't rip you off and give you 2 slices. What I also forgot to mention you can get your sandwich on white or wheat and different sizes too. The only thing I had trouble with is most of the tables are high tops and for me at 5'2" I had a hard time getting on and getting off. Would We go back. Without a doubt.!!!!!!!! We are always thrilled to discover another delicious sandwich option in the east valley. Sidewinder Subs did not disappoint and left us wanting to come back for more. The bbq sauce on the Kicker was sweet and tangy. The chicken on The Bomb was thick and we were told that it is baked and cut fresh in house everyday. The bread was thick, fresh and extremely soft, yet stayed together perfectly throughout the entire meal. Both sandwiches were the perfect amount of saucy. The house potato salad and mac salad looked delicious so we'll definitely try that next time. The interior was very clean and there are plenty of tv's for game watching. I was not a fan of Fox News on one of the tv's because it made me lose my appetite a little. I think they should just stick to sports on the TV's. Just tried for the first time, so yummy!! I had the T.W.A which is a deluxe turkey sandwich with bacon, garlic aioli, l,t,o, cheese. It was warm and toasted and the bread is fresh. I loved how all of the ingredients were thin sliced and fresh as well. Ordered a cookie and they are LIFE yall. I love supporting a good local business and this sub shop is delicious!! The subs are so freaking good here! Some of the most freshiest fresh bread you will ever wrap your lips around. I like to jump around the menu and try a little of it all and nothing disappoints. The spicy italian is probably my fav and you have to try Zipps Voodoo chips. Mmmmmm mmmmm. The only reason I rate them four stars is they keep awful hours.
