Usually, when I visit Snappy's the food and service is always great, but today was different. The coffee was cold, the food was not cooked to order, and the ambiance was horrible as the smell of dog filled the room. Dogs should not be allowed in places where food is being served. Not everyone wants their dining experience ruined by an animal. Do better, Snappy's. read more

Tip: I highly recommend the Greek Omelette Food: I loved everything we ordered. I have to say i was wonderfully surprised with the food. The pancakes were perfect and big! I also loved the hashbrowns and the crispiness. But I absolutely loved the Greek omelette. It was one of the best breakfasts ive ever had! 4 eggs, gyro meat, feta, tzatziki sauce and pita bread. The gyro meat was so tasty. Mixed with the feta and a dollop of tzatziki sauce on each bite was awesome. Luckily they are generous with the tzatkiki sauce and there was plenty to dip pita into it. The pita was very good too. I understand the owners are true Greeks which explains why everything is so good. Ive enjoyed Toasted Yolk, First Watch, Snooze, and Black Bear before. But I think Snappys just made the top of my list! Service: Their service is the best! This is why i gave the 5th STAR. When we entered, the blonde hostess was all smiles and accomodated us very quickly. There may be a wait but it moves fast. Coffee is always, and i mean always, topped off. I havent seen that much attention to customers in a long time. Place: For a long time i didnt go because i heard smoking was permitted. But that was YEARS ago. Its been SMOKE-FREE for years and it was completely REBUILT after Harvey. My wife is very sensitive to smoking and she didnt notice at all this morning. I just want to clear the air (pardon the pun) of any misconceptions that this is a smoking place. This is truly a great local owner shop! Tasty breakfast, lots of food at a good price. Great service. Snappy's in located in a strip center on highway 90 on old town Katy and is a very popular breakfast place with the locals. We had a large party and arrived for a Sunday brunch. We did not have to wait very long for a table. I had to have my morning coffee and the servers did not disappoint. My cup never ran dry. I also had a good pile of creamers in a bowl in front of me, so I couldn't complain. I ordered the Tiger omelette with a biscuit and pancakes on the side. I was hungry from riding in the MS-150 the day before, but Snappy's was able to serve my needs. Plenty of tasty food came my way. I would order the omelette again. The food is not fancy like IHOP. What you will get is a large portion of good food and friendly service. The kids in our party loved the corner of the restaurant that had funny sayings on plaques and signs. Very relaxed setting. At the end of my meal, I thought our bill was a bit high. After thinking about it for a minute, with the amount of food served, the price was probably fair. Expect to pay $10-12 per person for breakfast. Denny's is not too far away and offers a cheaper breakfast. For something a little different, Snappys is a good breakfast option. I only went there, because I was told they had great smothered calf liver. My Father in Law loves it, and once a year I don't mind it. It was very good and should make him happy. However after 35 minutes of waiting, our food arrived cold and overcooked. All 4 plates had cold overcooked bacon that was the texture of a chip. The bottom of the biscuit was burnt. This review is solely based on customer service as im waiting for my to go order. This is my first time here, was excited to try some country style breakfast in the Katy area. Upon entry me and my friend werent greeted in the warmest way like other patrons. Our server was verrrry dry and kind of off putting. She was pleasant with everyone else but me and my friend. I'm typically pretty jovial and friendly with everyone but she turned my smile into a frown. Everyone else was pretty nice and smiled and greeted us. I just hope and feel we werent discriminated against compared to how she was so nice to everyone else who looked different than me. Went on a weekday. We brought our baby in a stroller and found a spot even though it was busy. Beverages and food were brought promptly to our table after ordering. I had chicken fried steak with eggs. Wife had steak and eggs. We shared a pecan pancake. Brandy served us. She was friendly and recommended the pecan pancake. I got 3 eggs, 2 slices of bacon & 2 buttermilk pancakes, while my boyfriend got 3 eggs, 2 bacon slices, 2 sausage sticks & 2 buttermilk pancakes plus an orange juice. This all came out to only $25 ! Great place for breakfast have been here twice already and I really enjoy it. Since COVID hit we tend to get more takeout so it's really nice that this place brings your order out to your car once you park in the designated pickup area. The people on the phone taking the orders are always really friendly. The food is really good and I like how they offer something for everyone and so far everything I've tried is pretty good. "Did I just step onto the set of Friday Night Lights?...." is what I thought upon entering Snappy's. Signs of Katy football everywhere. From the clothes people were wearing to the pictures hanging on the walls. There were also a few pictures of places in Greece. (As Glenn B. mentioned, the owners are Greek) The menu had everything you would expect from a diner type restaurant (plus Greek food). I also believe that breakfast is served all day. I opted to try the chicken fried steak sandwich. Nothing particularly special about this, just a chicken fried steak, pickles, lettuce, and tomatoes on a sesame seed bun. I also had a side order of fries. Overall I thought the food was good. The portions were large and the price was reasonable. The wait staff were very friendly and attentive. It seemed like all the people eating were regulars. I'm going to assume that they knew each other and they also knew the wait staff. Old school diner with an Old school feel...Family friendly atmosphere with great service and serving a truly All American Fare..Place was packed with locals, which is a great problem to have and a very good sign...All the food coming out to the tables looked great..Menu is huge, with plenty to choose from.... Started with Biscuits and gravy...biscuits were amazing!!.and the gravy was just the right consistency...Wife went with 2 egg breakfast with corn beef hash (which you don't find everywhere), wheat toast and bacon...I went with The Complete Breakfast...eggs, hash browns, bacon, sausage links, toast and OJ (Sunny D)...Both plates had huge portions...Wife's corn beef hash was really good...I couldn't stop picking at it...eggs were buttery, sausage links were tasty..toast was cooked perfect..although needed more butter, which was an easy fix, as they have all the fixings at the table you could need to improve the toast in your life. My hash browns were perfectly cooked, nice and crispy...Wife "Home Fries" were good, but were on the soft side, and not crispy at all, which is a personal preference when it comes to breakfast taters..Biggest let down, loosing a star with that....was the Bacon...it was deep fried..which just destroys everything bacon was born to be...it MUST be cooked slow and in its own savory grease...and it was actually a thicker cut of Bacon...so the loss was on both sides... #baconlivesmatter ..I would rather have it cooked ahead the proper way and thrown in the Microwave for a few seconds to reheat...yes that important to us..Would bacon stop us from returning, unfortunately yes. read more
