Tried this place out the other weekend, I was drawn to the concept of the chicken being baked and not deep fried! I ordered the chicken tender basket, half breaded and half naked, and tater tots. My boyfriend ordered the wings. Portion size was good, I like that you can get different seasonings on the chicken, they have a lot of options to choose from! I got their original on half and the lemon pepper on the other half, both were flavorful! The ranch was also good, the only thing I didn't love was the tater tots, tasted basic/bland. I tried to give Sneakybird a chance since I've heard RAVE reviews on Yelp and Facebook. However, I was so let down by the food! It was not good at all, and quite pricey for the quality. We ordered 2 "Homestyle" Chicken Sandwiches, one with the "Jalapeño Garlic Rub" and one plain. We also ordered some Chicken Tenders. On the side, we got the "Mo Bourbon Sauce" and the "Fools Gold" (golden mustard) along with some Ranch. The sandwiches come with 1 side, we got Tater Tots & "Maple" Tater Tots which were made of sweet potatoes. The sauces were fine, the "Fools Gold" was a nice tangy sauce, but the "Never Fried" Homestyle Chicken Sandwiches were just not good. The sandwiches were so dry and bland that they were barely edible. It was like eating sandpaper. The Tenders were the same-- like eating crunchy pieces of cardboard. This was a great spot with a nice switch up of the constantly fried chicken sandwiches. We tried each of the flat breads and the the island BBQ was leagues above all the others. There was however one thing there that was an unlike anything I have had elsewhere. They had a salted maple cookie that was the perfect firm to soft ratio. It's a pretty small place, lots of questions to answer when it's your first time it's a little confusing! We tried two sandwiches, chicken tenders and a kids meal. Sauces were all delicious! Never ever fried. Hmmmm. You have my attention. I love fried chicken. Like...I have an unhealthy obsession with fried chicken that my cardiologist frowns upon. So this stuff not being deep fried intrigued me. There's some sort of voodoo hoodoo magic because this sandwich is texturally crunchy yet juicy at the same time. I had worries that it would taste like some shake and bake nonsense from a sad trip to the grocery store as a child but much to my pleasant surprise...it tastes delicious. Also...the sandwich is pretty large. So that's a plus. Seating is uncomfortable though. If you have even the slightest degree of claustrophobia, get yours for takeout. Everything is baked so a healthy option. The tater tots were good and I read to add the cole slaw, but it has their sauce on it so regular mayo based is preferred. The chicken tenders were just that, super tender and tasty. It's a small place by Hash Kitchen. They have a couple of tables outside or could be taken out to the green space to eat, also. The first time I tried this place I was so happy! I have never tasted such amazing gluten free chicken wings! The tenders are amazing also but not gluten free. They have so many unique rubs and sauces it will take you a few trips to try them all! Every one we have tasted has been so tasty! The Garlic Butter Parmesan rub was hard to differentiate from the Salted Maple but they were both tasty! I am a dipper so I love that they offer sauce flights! The employees are always so helpful and knowledgeable about what flavors they recommend and their favorites to taste first. The tots are insane! The second time we went I tried the sweet potato tots and was not as impressed, they were not crunchy and pretty mushy. They didn't have a good flavor so I probably won't order those again. The other unfortunate thing is both times we have gone the drinks all taste funky like the syrups are not being made correctly into the machine. Themis has effected the flavor of the lemonade and the sodas. Also, both times we have gone the tea has been out both times, once they refilled it after asking but the other time the girl working there forgot after we asked her. Nice new chicken place in town. The best part is they have lots of gluten free options including tenders, wings, and a chicken dandwhich. For gluten fre just need to order the naked wings. The place had a variety of options for rubs and sauces, but note not all sauces are unfortunately gluten free. You can mix and match as you would like. For sides the options are just coleslaw and tots, they do have sweet potatoe tots available. As someone who is not a tots fan and much prefers fries this was a dissappintment. We got two sandwhiches one naked and one the other style for my partner. You can choose a rub and a sauce. I found the rub to nit have much flavor and was not liking the bourbon sauce I choose. This place was surprisingly good! I mean the motto is "never fried" and they sell chicken dishes that are traditionally fried! Great concept and good execution from the friendly people at Sneakybird! I had the tenders, these remind me of Shake'n Bake but more flavorful, so if you like that you'll love these. I paired them with the sweet potato tots which were arranged in a box and presented quite well. I also grabbed the bone-in wings with dry rub, these were quite flavorful but a little drier compared to the deep fried chicken wings I'm most familiar with, this isn't a bad thing all around though because you can definitely tell these aren't as fatty and oily as their traditional counterparts. I like to try wings from lots of places. Usually a couple time a week. I like the fact that they are non breaded. The wings were good. My wife ordered the chicken strips which were also pretty good and they came with tots, also good. I saw they had a flatbread pizza and added it to our order, it tasted fine but nothing that a frozen pizza at home couldn't compete with.
