Very casual and relaxed. You can get to know the owner and bartenders. Great on a Saturday afternoon.

Very low key place to hang out. Pretty good prices on beer. It's the anti South Tampa place for the most part and a good laid back hangout. I can't comment on the food, but they have darts which I love. There are plenty of tv's to watch the game. Very good hangout place. read more

I went with my friends who were all of age and one of my friend's REAL ID was a little messed up with an air bubble from a bouncer when she went out but it's been like that for a short period of time and hasn't had a problem getting in because she's always with her IDENTICAL TWIN WHO WAS ALSO THERE. They also let the first twin in who's ID didn't have any problems, then me, then obviously stopped when he saw my friends with the air bubbles. We understand it is their job to confiscate fake IDs and have no tolerance for underage drinking, however they made us wait for the cops to show up to get our IDs back. Whilst waiting to the cops to show up, which was most likely more than an hour, I asked the other half of our friends that were already inside to just grab me a water, because I never ate anything all day except for jalapeño chips while waiting for the cops (a bad decision but I assumed water would be available to me) and same bouncer who has been giving us crap all day did not allow any of us to drink the water, yelled at us and took it away. I'm sorry but you cannot refuse to serve water, can you? Anyway the workers were being assholes. Even the cops were 10 times nicer than the pricks at soho saloon. You lost a heavy drinker as a potential customer... good riddance. read more

Me and my coworkers come here 2-3 times a week and get treated horribly by security almost every time. I literally argued with one for 30 mins over me trying to get one chair so all of my friends could sit together. They didn't wanna help at all only got aggressive so i told my friends let's cash out and go to bar howard where they value the guests. Once I'm getting my friends to cash out i feel the security guard come up to me once again yelling about chairs. If you didn't wanna help me find a new table or another chair and I'm cashing out so i can not have anymore confrontation and he starts yelling at me and trying to kick me out. Your security needs a damn reality check bc they can't handle any type of heat. Your place isn't wild enough to have such rude individuals working and running your floor. The bar tenders are great but security is lameeeee and needs to fix what they have going on bc it's not it. Been going to soho saloon for years, since before the whole remodel. Let me begin the review by saying I never had any issues and always had a great time, bartenders were awesome! I don't usually leave reviews but me and my friends were basically kicked out cause someone started yelling racially insensitive remarks at us. Security is definitely on a power trip, they assumed we were the ones causing the problems and kicked us out for no reason. Much better places to go where your treated with respect. Macdittons, HPC, and Drynk all have awesome happy hours and the Lodge is dope at night. Spend your money where you will be treated with respect! read more

I have been going to saloon for years and I've always loved the place and the staff until tonight. I was sitting on the railing and was told to get off so I did and was leaning on it with one leg up and still got yelling at, which I get and stopped ....Then my boyfriend flicked a cigarette and the same bouncer came up and said ok now u gotta go. He said he threw a cigarette at him (on the ground) and we were questioning his authority. (he was on a power trip) Then while we were outside like delinquents waiting for our tab they told me that the general manger said that the drink I was drinking was in fact not their glassware and that I had illegally brought in my own drink!!! Made me describe the bartender who gave it to me because they didn't believe me! As though the amazing security didn't see me walk in with a martini!!! (They are so with it) And I brought my own in!!! Then, after 20 mins when they realized that they did NOT have their shit together they apologized by saying it was a busy night... like they don't have those every single weekend! My favorite bar in soho now just became a bar I will never ever go to ever again. "Waitress on a power trip" by coyote ugly was a understatement!! THIS big bearded man went home feeling better about himself because he kicked out a couple who spends money every weekend! You go curmudgeon! I do not know who these security guards think they are. I'm from NYC, and literally the only thing i can compare their attitudes/power trips/nonsense to is the highest caliber clubs in the Meatpacking district, which are often celebrity studded and the doors are EXTREMELY guarded. However, this is TAMPA. FLORIDA. I'm 23 and just because i have an out of state ID, they tried to humiliate me at the door by letting my friends in and then taking extra long to point, read and shake their head at me. excuse me? that's my real id... disgusting. i saw them do this to other people too. the bar itself was packed, with the worst kind of trashy college students who try too hard to be noticed. i saw them aggressively push/kick people out of the line and bar multiple times for doing nothing. so many bars in soho don't waste your money or time at this joke. read more

I've visited the Soho Saloon several times on visits to the Tampa area. Atmosphere is fun. There's plenty of ways to entertain yourself in the bar. Drinks are reasonably priced and there's decent music. One incident in particular last night leaves a pretty bad impression, however. I'd just left the bar, normal night out, nothing notable about my time in the bar. While I was waiting for my cab outside to leave, I was leaning up against their fence while standing on the sidewalk. A bouncer came up behind me and without saying a word shoved me off of it. Don't want me leaning on your fence, sure, whatever. But he then proceeds to tell me I can't stand there on a public sidewalk. I inform him that's where I'm expecting my cab and I'll be gone shortly. He starts yelling and trying to escalate a situation that doesn't need to exist. I tell him I'm not moving and he says he's gonna go get a cop, which I think is a great idea, but that's when my cab pulls up. That is the most unprofessional thing I've seen out of bar security staff in a long time. You do not come up behind someone you've had no interaction with and shove them. You do not go out of your way as a security professional to escalate a situation. If this is what you can expect out of people that are supposed to keep the peace, it's not a place I'd like to be. read more

This is where the old Soho Oasis was. I'm sure the clientele, the service, and the atmosphere is variable depending on the time and day you visit, just as all the other bars in SoHo are. Located right across the street from the bustling meat market MacDinton's, this place was pretty dead. The crowd was visibly older than the early 20's crowd across the street, with no doorman or actually anyone to greet you. As a matter of fact, we walked in the front door, past the lone pool table and juke box, and onto the patio, where we stood next to the bar for about 15 minutes without anyone greeting us or asking for our drink order. So, we huddled around their space heater to stay warm, and then left for another location. Can't comment on the drinks or food or anything but the atmosphere, which was some sort of country western or something. I mean, if you're going to go country, I'm sure there's a market for that, but it just seems really out of place. Not sure what they're going for there. Just sort of blah. I don't know how they'll survive, actually! But after having visited on a Friday night at around 11pm, I will have to say this is a no go for us. I have no desire to visit here again. read more

Came here from out of town and i have never had such a hard time ordering a drink. I went to American social the night before and instant service. Once 1:30 hit all the bartenders must of forgot they were working a bar that stayed open until 3am. Service was horrible i don't want a drink from a bartender that took forever to greet me and was annoyed and was holding a dirty rag from a nasty bottle, she then greeted me, then made my drink with the same hand and didn't even wash her hands. It was disgusting. I had a long day myself regardless of how long their day was of how "crazy Saturday was" i just wanted to relax and have a good time. Its sad. Okay, let me start out by saying that in many regards, the SoHo Saloon is one of my favorite Tampa bars. I mean how can you NOT love a place with a large American flag on it's side that was one of the few places that stayed open during hurricane Irma?! My main peeve is with the parking. I actually live in the neighborhood and usually walk. But once in a while I'll stop in on my way home, and since I'm too lazy to go home and walk back, I'll just stop and park. However, there have now been three times when I've stopped to park and was told that there parking lot was for employees only. Really? Okay, I know that parking is tight in SoHo, but at 10pm on a rainy Saturday night like tonight? My would think that by 10pm any employees coming to work would have already parked. I'd love to hear a response from the management explaining the parking policy there. As I started out with, I really love the bar, but randomly being told some nights, and not others, that the parking lot is only for employees greatly annoys me. Probably more than it should, but I would like to know if this is actually a SoHo Saloon policy of some type, or just an instance of an employee saving parking for friends. I mean who comes to work at 10pm on a Saturday night? I'm not saying it never happens, but this is the third time with the same employee. Other than that, I think it's a GREAT bar!!! read more

Incredible food and great serving size. The prices are very reasonable. Subpar service. The bartender did not seem very on top of things leaving us without drinks when we ran out and without napkins for our food. This is a great bar! Great music, great drinks, and a great atmosphere. What is not so great are the bouncers and security men. They are very, very rude, so be prepared. It started off when a friend from out of state showed two forms of ID and was still not allowed to come in because of the bouncer. She is of age, but she had a different ID from the Florida IDs, which I understand can raise awareness. The bouncer sends her to the next bouncer across the way, with the police, to run her license to make sure she was of age. She was finally allowed in after the police checked her ID (The police at the corner were very sweet and understanding, I am not mad with the way they handled it). I thought this was a little over the top considering she had two forms of ID to show to this bouncer. While all of this was going on, the line got very backed up causing people to get a little uneasy. We get in and have a blast. It is a great bar to go to, until the bouncers get involved, once again. Our friend went to the outside bar to say hey to some other friends. Our friend put her drink on the railing to talk, and all of a sudden the bouncer grabs her drink, throws it away, escorts her to the exit, and throws his hands out saying have a nice day lady! This was very rude and uncalled for because she did nothing wrong. Again, the bouncers are very rude and strict. When asked why she got kicked out, he said go away, so we asked again, and now curse words were being exchanged. We were never rude about what we said, just wanted to know what she did wrong to get kicked out. This really is a great bar inside with great drinks and even better music! Just be prepared when you come to deal with very rude, strict, and extreme bouncers. This is the third time I (or my friends) have personally had problems with bouncers, but I have witnessed plenty more times of the bouncers being obnoxious. read more

How can you call this place a saloon?? I was around before they got their liquor license, when it was UNIQUE and an actual COUNTRY BAR playing country music and we were linedancing! I brought a large group there last Friday night for my girlfriends birthday because she had never been to SoHo. Boy was she disappointed and I was in the dog house for it. Nothing but ghetto rap playing, rude security guards that made us go back to the car in valet and get her debit card because her ID that is IDENTICAL to her and not even questionable wasn't good enough. I get that you're doing your job, doesn't mean you forget about those things called manners. My ID (pre-full beard) is more questionable than hers! I forget the bartender's name (main inside bar) but he was the only positive point of this visit! The bar was full of sweaty, rude, barely 21 year old guys bumping in to everyone.
