I've been to South bar twice now. Once on a Sunday and once on a Saturday for brunch. This Sunday brunch is a lot calmer than the Saturday brunch was. If you are looking for a live DJ and a good time then I suggest going on Saturdays because it gets lit. The brunch is about $55 per person and you can order as much as you want from the menu. As someone who doesn't eat a lot of fried or heavy food, there weren't a lot of options for me, but other people seem to enjoy the food. They also have an unlimited mimosa option. There is plenty of parking nearby as well which is nice. read more

The bartenders are friendly and the drink selection is abundant and has a lot of exciting choices. The food is a modern version of southern comfort food. Super delicious with nice portions. I went on a Tuesday night during their 10 dollar chicken sandwich promotion. I parked right next to the restaurant and sat in the bar. I made a reservation from OpenTable, which was recognized. For the promotion, I had to buy a drink. The bartender recommended La Sandia (15 dollars), which was a tequila drink. While it was not a margarita, it was a nice refreshing drink with watermelon and basil I believe. I first didn't really taste much alcohol, but the buzz came afterwards. I ordered the spicy version of the chicken sandwich (16 dollars normally, but 10 dollars on Tuesday). It did come with fries or chips, but you could substitute a different side for 2 dollars more. I asked the fries to go. It did take some time to receive it, and it looked like both the sandwich and fries were in the to-go box. However, after mentioning the sandwich was for here, the bartender apologized and gave me a plate. I was very impressed by the spiciness of the sandwich. It indeed made me sweat and run my nose. The chicken was on the crispier side, but still delicious. I remember seeing pickles and possibly coleslaw inside as well, which helped ease the spiciness. But I wanted spicy and got exactly what I wanted! I didn't try the fries sadly, but it looked to be generous. I really hoped the housekeeping at my hotel took and enjoyed it. My bartender was friendly, and gave good suggestions. Even though my sandwich took some time, we were able to have a nice talk. The crowd was small and pretty quiet, but I won't be surprised if it gets larger during the weekends. There is outdoor seating as well, and the tree outside looked really nice. Since South Bar provided a truly spicy burger, this gets five stars. The drink was good too, and my bartender treated me well. I wasn't sure if the parking lot nearby was for the patrons, but there was parallel parking right at the restaurant. For the Tuesday 10 dollar chicken sandwich deal, I will definitely eat there again when I am in that area. read more

8/2/2023 - Happy Hour review. Met two friends here during happy hour. Parking was not a problem. There is plenty right in front as of now. I did see a big apartment building getting ready to open soon so it might get busy. But this day it wasn't. My friend got a high four top in front of the bar. As soon as you walk in, it feels like a swanky New York hotel. They did a beautiful job with the decor. The seating is very trendy with an emerald green upholstery and antique brass lighting. Our bartender Jeremy was on it. He came by and I ordered the a glass of red wine. My friend who was siping on hers recommended it. As soon as our other friend arrived, Jeremy came right away and got her order. We put it a couple of appetizers from their happy hour menu. We ordered the Deviled Eggs, the Boudin and their Burrata Salad. The Boudin balls didn't look appetizing but they were quite tasty. Happy hour is weekdays 4pm-7pm. Can't wait until we get cooler weather to sit on their patio under the beautiful tree. read more

South Bar & Kitchen is a new place located smack dab in the center of Pompano's Historic District. Unfortunately, we arrived on a Saturday night, and the place was super packed. We were warmly greeted, had reservations, and arrived precisely on time but no seats were available. The bar was also fully occupied and the noise of the crowd inside was deafening. So, we ended up standing outside waiting for about half an hour until we saw a couple leave an outdoor table which we immediately grabbed, telling our hostess about it after the fact, but she was fine with it. To start, Partner ordered his usual scotch on the rocks while I had my typical Bacardi and soda with lime. It took forever from the time we ordered until our drinks arrived. But, when they did arrive, they were good. I then had an appetizer of deviled eggs with Cajun whipped yolks, smoked trout roe, chicken cracklings, and green onions. Though the trout roe didn't seem to produce much flavor, the eggs were overall delicious. For a salad, I had their Caesar with buttermilk Caesar dressing and parmesan. It had a good taste to it, rather different from most in that it was of a fine chopped instead of full leaf hearts of romaine. For food, I ordered their Beer and Bacon Mussels. Again, a painfully long wait. Partner complained to a gentleman about the wait time, which gentleman turned out to be the owner who gave partner a free drink, but for me, nothing. So, in the future, I'm going to be the first wheel to squeak; so to speak. LOL! When my Beer and Bacon Mussels finally arrived, they were super good with large Canadian Prince Edward Island Mussels, done in Abita beer with applewood smoked bacon, caramelized onions, and sided with ciabatta bread. Really delicious. You really can't help but like the outdoor atmosphere of the place, especially if setting on the back deck under the huge spreading tree. However, when a place has no respect for your prior reservations or such painfully slow service, I certainly can't go five stars on it or recommend it. read more

What a surprise! As I approached the restaurant, I was apprehensive. But upon turning the corner, my heart beat faster because I was excited! Across from a beautiful new apartment building was this contemporary, well designed restaurant. I walked inside, and was awed! We were quickly seated and our sweet, attentive server, Alissa, was moments behind us. We had some happy hour drinks and apps, which included an outstanding gumbo, even though it lacked okra. It was topped with rice, well-seasoned, hearty and delicious. My friend ordered the blue crab beignets, despite being fried (my issue always, but that's how you make them) I loved them! I also got the seared tuna. The tuna was fresh and tender, but I yearned for the flavors promised... My friends split a dish, short ribs and grits, and lived every bite. My girlfriend ordered the grilled fish, mahi. While the flavor was good, it was slightly overcooked but the corn and steamed vegetables were quite well prepared. Everyone loved the collard greens as well. We closed the evening with a banana pudding that was good, but had a tad too much whipped cream. The ambiance, certainly casual, was very tasteful and welcoming. I got a space in the street, but I'm not sure what other parking is available. Loved the ambiance, decor and food here. It's a fun and hip restaurant with a great happy hour menu from 4-7 PM daily. The parking is a bit sparse around the streets but there is a lot right across from the restaurant. The staff is a little slow to come by and take your order but the food is brought out quickly. It is open air with the bar area so sometimes there may be flies roaming around so you may have to battle them for your food. We started with a beer and a bourdeaux off the HH menu. Nice pours. Then tried the Deviled Eggs which were very unique with the masago and chicharrons. The boudin balls were really good! The pepper jam sauce was delightful and the sweetness complimented the crispy savory meatballs well. The gumbo was super flavorful. Very small portion but perfect to give it a try if you're not sure you want a whole dinner portion. The sausages inside were delicious. Off the regular menu, we had the Craw Daddy which is what I had my eye on and the reason I came into South Bar. It didn't disappoint. Cute little fried crawfish tails on top mixed with creamy rich carbonara like noodles and boiled crawfish tails underneath. It was so, so amazing. I still thinking about it. Nice newer spot. Been wanting to check this out for some time since they've opened. Came in on Friday night, place was busy but not crowded. They have inside and outside seating, but it's still warm & buggy outside to eat. They had a live band outside. We started with some drinks and opted for the deviled eggs and pimento cheese dip. Two great options to start. So far, so good. Had a few things for entrees that sounded enticing but let the waitress pick. I got the salmon, which was tasty and well seasoned. It was good, wish I would have gone with one of my own picks. Wife went with the mussels, she enjoyed them and said they were fresh and cooked in a good sauce. Of course, to my liking we had desert, wanted the brownie (they ran out) so second choice was the cheesecake. It was good, not great. Should have tried the banana pudding. I was surprised by the negative reviews. It is a beautiful property and very nicely decorated with a huge bar and amazing outdoor area. The hostesses were super friendly and nice. Maya was the BEST server!! We had the deviled eggs and biscuits as appetizers. Both were great with beautiful presentation. For dinner, I had short rib and grits which was amazing and I'm a grits snob. Great flavors and the service was great too. I'd highly recommend it. So glad to have found this new hidden gem in Pompano. My friend and I stopped in during happy hour so we were able to choose between indoor and outdoor seating. We started inside and ordered the Deviled Eggs and Boudin Ball. The Cajun whipped eggs had great flavor and the smoked salmon roe was a nice compliment. The Boudin Balls were big and although I couldn't taste the pork the honey, pepper jelly really stood out and brought the flavor to these fried rice balls. My favorite item was the shrimp and grits. The melted Gouda and the shellfish broth sauce combined to make the creamiest grits I've ever tried. I could've eaten a bowl of sauce and grits by itself. The grits were served with three jumbo shrimp which were cooked perfectly. Yum! For drinks, I tried the La Sandia which was refreshing with fresh watermelon. And I also tried the pineapple margarita which was not too spicy and the pineapple was not overpowering. We moved outside to enjoy the live music on the patio. This review should be a 3/3.5 due to a few hiccups, but I'm being lenient for them being new. We had reservations at 7:45 on a Friday so they were also pretty busy. We were seated outside on the patio immediately after we checked in. The patio is gorgeous, with a huge tree being the centerpiece of the patio and string lights throughout (more on those later). Our first round of drinks were great, and the boudin balls were fantastic! The pepper jelly they came with was SO good. For dinner, I ordered the burrata salad from the greens column and opted to add fried chicken to get in some southern flare. It tasted fresh and the flavors were great. It was much more cheese focused than greens focused though ratio wise. The fried chicken was delicious. The biscuit we added on the side was meh and rather dense. My boyfriend had ordered a beer and was given a 0% version, it took a while before our server checked in with our table to be able to correct it. Aside from that patio string lights weren't working, with staff trying to resolve it for the entirety of our visit. Once the sun set the patio was quite dark while we were trying to eat. Overall: service was mostly good, food was mostly great, drinks were also good, atmosphere was awesome (and they had live music). I'd definitely go back and see if the small kinks get worked out. Other: -Parking was a valet lot & limited street spots surrounding (at least on a busy Friday night). -Wear bug spray if you're prone to bites, I got a dozen bites that night. read more

I was excited to try this new restaurant.. We arrived at 3:30 only one other table... We seem to be unnoticed ending, and the host of stand.. finally we were seated later came over. The atmosphere is very nice. I love the way it's decorated... Very nice outdoor venue... Nice modern set up bar... We got two glasses of wine, which were belief four dollars each for happy hour... they had a special for $35 to share an appetizer to entrées and a dessert... We both got the fried chicken sandwich which was good... Started with crab balls, which were delicious and finish with a brownie and ice cream... Very good... The food here is 4 star but it's a a bit of a harrowing experience at the same time. It was so loud inside the restaurant that we couldn't have a conversation or even hear the servers well. My ears were ringing and frankly, we ordered, ate, and left in just over an hour just to have a bit of sanity. We had made reservations. And we came a bit early. They found our name and checked us in -- but later I got a message from open table saying we were a no show! So I guess they are still working out some training and staffing issues. Our server was on her first day, but she did fine, considering. The guy training her knew most of the answers but not quite totally right on. We went right to the entrees. My husband had their craw daddy. One of the "low country" features on the menu. It had two types of crawfish in the dish -- one regular and one crispy fried/battered. The regular were mixed in a creamy sauce with cheese and pasta. The crispy crawfish was served on top. He said it was very good. I ordered the other low country dish: the shrimp and grits. Although there were only 3 shrimp, they were huge! They sat atop cheesy grits. Sprinkled over all was a few cracklins and it was plated with a sauce -- called a seafood broth. The sauce was very slightly spicy -- barely noticeable. You can request hot sauce if you wish to kick it up a notch. The grits were nice and creamy. It was very good, but perhaps dumb downed a bit for American tastes? We both had desserts. He had the banana pudding parfait. He said it was okay. It could have used a bit more banana. I wanted to try their biscuits and got their shortcake. It did have a fresh sliced strawberry on top and was plated with whipped cream. The biscuit was on top of some strawberry coulee -- not "jam" as the waiter said -- but better. Unfortunately, the biscuit was over cooked and hard as a rock. I had to eat the dessert with a knife and fork. And I struggled to cut into the hard dry biscuit. They really should not have served this batch of biscuits. By the way, the table next to us ordered the biscuits as a starter and they were hard and black! We heard their comments... *PS I did mention this to the server when she asked how I liked it. I'm still glad we came. They were doing a bang up happy hour at the bar and high tops so that was the source of all the noise as people were yelling to be heard over each other. But unless they do something to mitigate the noise, the clientele interested in dining there will not return. It's a new place in town now, so I'm sure they don't have to worry. People will want to come and check out the new restaurant. But it would sure be nice if they could stick around for a while... read more

This bar is absolutely beautiful. If you know me well enough, this is exactly the kind of bar I'd be attracted to. The decor is a classic: emerald green, black and white patterns, gold accents. Absolutely stunning. There's an indoor eating area, an indoor bar, outside bar and full patio space with a huge tree. This bar is located in a very much up and coming area in Pompano so this makes me excited about the future of this space. Our bartender was Jeremy who I followed here because he's a good friend of mine but I also know him as a fantastic mixologist based on his previous bar experience. I gave him a challenge to make me something off the menu that included Hendrick's Gin and Cucumber- he absolutely nailed it and got other people at the bar curious about it too. It was delicious and light, absolutely perfect to pair with the food we were about to experience. The food was delicious. We started with their biscuits which include the 3 different toppings: pepper jam, honey butter and a seasonal jam. These were super fresh and fantastic. What a great starter to preview what was ahead. Next we all ordered our entrees, I got the Pimento burger which I promised to split with my husband since he was getting the chicken sandwich so we could try both. Our friends got the chicken sandwich and the mussels to share too. I was sitting closest to the mussels so I tried them and they are so good. I'll be getting these when I return, the sauce was drinkable like give me the bowl when you're done and let me just go at it. The Pimento burger was insane, cooked to perfection of medium-rare, it is definitely my favorite burger which I find so hard to find, will come back when I want a good burger for sure. Chicken sandwich was also amazing, but I would be lying if I told you that I didn't want to take back my promise of splitting my burger with the hubs, if I could have taken it back, I would. Wow this place exceeded my expectations! My husband took me to South Bar & Kitchen as a surprise. When we arrived I was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful garden area, as we walked in I was amazed by the interior design inside the restaurant. I love the style and feel. I quickly realized we were in for a treat. We didn't have a reservation but only waited for a few minutes before we were seated. I would suggest you make reservations if you have a big party though, the place was packed. When I saw "Gumbo" in the menu I couldn't look away! We traveled to New Orleans on a recent trip and since then, I've been hooked. Our server was so nice and attentive. He laughed when I shared with him that my expectations for Gumbo were pretty high after my trip to New Orleans. When our food arrived I was so eager to taste it and I can assure you, it is the real deal! I was taken back to the great flavors of New Orleans. My husband ordered a Po' Boy which was also delicious. It had shrimp perfectly cooked and just a great combination of flavors inside. We also ordered an appetizer, ribs cooked with sweet and spicy sauce and crunchy peanuts. I know it sounds different but it tasted like heaven. I had gone to South Bar & Kitchen when it first opened and though the food was okay I thought it would improve over time. It hasn't but the real problem was poor management. Very poor. I started out with the Chicken sandwich appetizers and this featured overcooked tough chicken on a dried out biscuit. There was a mistake with an item I had ordered and the waiter acknowledged the error and though I never requested a manager he wanted to do the right thing and said a manager would be over to correct the mistake but she never bothered to come to the table. Another problem occured with the New Orleans Pasta dish that came with blackened chicken but the chicken came out fifteen minutes later on a separate plate after the pasta and that's beyond strange. The place has a very nice atmosphere with a very nice outdoor seating area. We went on saturday night, and they had a singer in the courtyard. Walked in on a Saturday night. And we're seated right away. We were sitting for at least 15 minutes before anyone came to the tabel. The menu says build your own old fashioned, ask for our extensive wisky list. The server pulled it up on his handheld device. Wouldn't let me hold it and just showed it to me. The food came out hot and was okay. Personally i had a pulleed pork sandwich, which was average, it might have been chopped, which makes a difference. My wife had Checken tenders she was unimpressed. My grand daughter had a burger, the French fries had a slight taste of fish. You should never fried french fries and seafood together. The third and final strike was when the bill came, we had five people in our party, one was a child. They added a 20% gratuity. Strike three. I paid cash the waiter countered out in front of me. It said I was two dollars short, I was. The service, what's definitely not not worth 20%. I normally leave twenty three twenty four percent. But since it was on the menu, the party's a five or more, I gave him the two bucks and left. read more

wow what a fabulous grand opening! The new restaurant is in Pompano and there was plenty of parking! i always worry about parking because i'm not a valet fan. The band was excellent playing so many of my favorite artists including the Beatles, and Any Winehouse done in a fabulous way. iThere was a list of on the house cocktails and the watermelon one fresh juice was so refreshing A sampling of burgers was plentiful along with desserts and salads. The decor is beautiful but a lil dark. It could be just me, but still lovely. It's in a quiet neighborhood and there was ample parking on the street. The menu is simple with southern comfort food that is not fussy. I had the voodoo mussels for an appetizer, Chef's kiss . As an entree, I had the creole chicken Alfredo! That was amazing as well. A nice gentleman recommended the "bless your heart" as a great drink. He was so right, I had 2. The have live music on Fridays and Saturdays. Per our waiter, they rotate the performers. The Location is the definition of a hidden gem as it's situated right off of Atlantic Blvd and if you don't pay attention you'l definitely miss it. The outdoor area is so naturally beautiful as it centered around a large tree that's been made a focal point of the decor. We went during brunch so I order the shrimp and grits, scrambled eggs, sausage and a waffle. All of which were delicious. I loved that the shrimp and grits were not overly seasoned. The deviled eggs could've had a bit more of that sweet and sour taste that I've come to expect when eating deviled eggs, however they were still good. The Sauce drizzled on the greats was just the right balance of savory to compliment the shrimp and the grits. I'm definitely looking forward to returning here and trying some additional items from the menu. I visited South Bar and Kitchen at 5:45 PM on Tuesday. It was fairly slow, and I was dining alone. I was one of just a few patrons inside, though there were quite a few people dining outside on the patio under the banyan tree out back. I ordered a Caesar Salad with Grilled Chicken, a side of Herbed Fries, and a half and half Sweet Tea. The waitress was polite enough but no smile. I'd overheard the volume and tone of a phone call on my way into the restaurant that let me know maybe she wasn't having the best day, so while I may have hoped for a smile, I didn't expect one. Her service was a bit slow between visits, but she got the job done well enough. The food was delivered in a timely manner. She didn't come to check on whether I was enjoying my meal until I was halfway through it. Fortunately, I had no complaintsat. She refilled my drink twice. It was only the wait for my check that was a bit too long. As a former waitress, I can't judge her. The hardest time to take good care of customers is when it's a slow night.In any case, the food was quite delicious. South's Caesar is my favorite anywhere, and the added grilled chicken was a good portion. The herbed fries were crispy, but I only had a few as the salad was sufficient. (I took them home and my brother reheated them in the air-fryer. They turned out well, and he enjoyed them.) The star of the day, however, was the sweet tea. It was absolutely delightful. I could have drunk a gallon of it. When you ask for half regular and half sweet tea at South, it's a perfect mix. I can't even make it that well at home, and honestly, I'd go back just for the tea. Great first time experience! Made reservations on a Friday and we're seated promptly and even received a text that our table was ready as we we're driving. The location is in up and coming Pompano Beach off of Dixie highway. It's giving a baby Wynwood vibe. We opted to sit outside as the weather was comfortable. There was a great vibe and energy with the outdoor seating. We were sat under an old tree and it was cool. Live music was nice on a Friday. The service was exceptional and friendly. Everyone was working together and it was efficient. The food was great. We had several apps and with the exception of one were all hits. The crab cakes is a must as well as the Cajun tuna app. The chicken biscuit was the only disappointment. The reason was because the biscuit came out burnt as apparently they put it on the grill to give it a smoke taste.....didn't hit for me. The fried chicken on the biscuit was decent but I couldn't get over the disappointment of the biscuit as that's one of the things their know for. We also ordered the fish sandwich which was grilled mahi and I must say that was ocean fresh. Absolutely delicious and especially the slaw they use on the bun. Opted for Cajun fries and that was fantastic. Nice kick. We also tried the sweet potato casserole and it was flavorful and a hit too. No complaints on the signature cocktails. This place was everything and more. Every dish was better than the next. We had a party of 9. We had reservations and they took us as we walked in the door. The restaurant was clean and inviting with the live music in the background. We were welcomed by the hostess who was very kind and tentative. We were very skeptical of the menus as it was very different and had no idea what to order. I'll start with the short ribs and grits. My son in law ordered it and he liked it very much but would have preferred to have the bone in it rather than slightly shredded. He ate all of it. My daughter had the mahi mahi sandwich and she loved it. It was a beautiful piece of fish and cooked perfectly. I ordered the fried chicken. There were two choices a 1/2 or a whole chicken. I ordered half. I can honestly say this is the best fried chicken I've ever had in my entire life. Cooked to perfection. So so tender and delicious. I had the breast and the wing and the most delicious biscuit with honey butter I also had the sweet potato casserole. Soooo soooo good. I shared the rest with our table. All of us agreed that it was our favorite. To top it off we all had dessert and shared it. The strawberry shortcake bread pudding with strawberry ice cream. Omg, it came out warm creaming with the cold ice cream on top and it was AMAZING. The beignets were delicious also. If you haven't tried this place you're missing out. You will love everything about it. A must for a wonderful better than home cooked meal. I cannot forget the server who was just awesome. I believe her name was marina. Overall it's not a bad spot! The restaurant is beautiful and has indoor and outdoor seating. Be mindful outdoor seating comes with flies and nuts and sticks on tables. The service was a bit slow, it didn't seemed fully staffed but everyone was friendly. The food had a bit of a kick! For example, the syrup with the chicken and waffles has a spicy hint. The spicy chicken sandwich will fulfill its name. The crab cake was my favorite item for sure. It seems like a nice date spot or location for gathering with friends. read more

Even though South Bar & Kitchen has only been open for several months, it has definitely found its groove in a transitional area. Today was an overcast winter, albeit SoFla, day but that meant a breezy comfortable lunch on the partially covered patio listening to live music while sipping on a cocktail. South has a good selection of creative cocktails and if our Gin and Jam, and Old Fashioned Breakfast are a tasty testimonial to the rest of the menu...it's an easy way to turn a few hours, especially when the food is enjoyable. Lunch or dinner out isn't just about taste, it should be at least a bit fun to eat as well. I only mentioned the backyard garden party vibing patio seating area, but the inside is spacious and stylish...something for any civilized person looking to hang with friends. Really a beautiful relaxing looking place and our waitress, Christine was wonderful. We started with Deviled Eggs, topped with smoked trout roe and crumbled chicken crackling. Oh, and I believe the took a beet juice bath beforehand. My wife ordered the B.E.C. Biscuits, which were crispy crumbly good...a base of thick cut bacon, rest a baked egg on that unctuous thick slab of bacon, then top it with some cheddar and shingle the biscuit top...and hit the salamander to create meltage. It comes with their house made hashbrowns, which resemble triangular tater-tots. She got sliced watermelon on the side. I ordered the southern fried chicken sandwich, which came on a brioche bun with garlic mayo, topped with shredded iceberg lettuce and pickle chips. I opted for the hashbrowns as their french-fries are frozen. The seasoning on the fried chicken fillet was quite subtle, not to say bland just not a heavy hand. I don't generally enjoy iceberg lettuce, but this shredded amount offered a fresh juxtaposition to the fried chicken. Likewise, the lightly pickled pickle chips offered the necessary acidic break from the glorious fattiness of the crispy fried chicken. I enjoyed my sandwich and would recommend it to others. I would try their spicy version next time...although it will have to wait until I work my way through some other menu offerings first. Those triangular tater-tot looking hashbrowns were addictive...fingers just kept reaching in... Our first visit was quite successful and we shall return. Get there people, get there. read more

Booked the restaurant for brunch with my ladies group. Had 32 people but 27 people showed up. Seating was definitely a challenge- apparently booths are supposed to fit 6 people. Personally- I think of you're average size- Maybe 4-5. Anyway- the service was good at the booth I was in, however one of the other tables, long wait times. I will say the food was fantastic. I had the blue crab Benedict with tater tots. Next time I will ask of a salad or something other than tater tot's-they were too salty for my taste!!! My friends enjoyed the fried green tomatoes as well as the Bloody Mary's. We all enjoyed & I want to come back for dinner. Next time I'll have some pics!!! read more

Came with family for dinner. We sat outside at high top tables for happy hour. The tree in the center of the outdoor patio had lighted balls that were really festive. Green and purple. Ashley was our server. For drinks, I had an old town fashion. It was made with a prickly pear syrup and decorated with a dried red orange slice. The cocktail was delicious. For appetizers, our table shared fried green tomatoes and the pimento dip. The fried green tomato aioli side was perfect amount of heat. The pimento dip was delicious. The lavash chips were tasty. The pickled pimento, pickled red onion and pickles were so very good. They had a floral tone to it. Both were really excellent. For dinner I had the. The Southerner salad. This also had the yummy pickled okra. The unexpected star was the spiced hominy crisp croutons on top. The only downside was that the dressing didn't come with the meals. My family began eating while I had to wait. Finally, my brother went to get someone. They brought the vinaigrette and I was able to enjoy the salad which was really good. I'd recommend the Southerner salad. The po boys reportedly were delicious and the buns were light and not too dense. Would definitely come back. read more

The food wasn't bad, but I believe this establishment is overpriced. Service was good but slow.. Indoor and outdoor ambiance was perfect though! My husband really enjoyed his shrimp po' boy. The craw daddy pasta needed more Cajun cream sauce. Overall, I wasn't as impressed as I had hope I would be! read more
