    Cheesesteak wit onions

3.4 stars I was at the office again and decided to try the philly cheesesteak here. I think it's above average. It is definitely a family business and they seem very sweet. The establishment is definitely no-frills. I ordered the cheesesteak wit onions and American cheese and whiz fries ($7). I don't remember how much the sandwich was, but the total plus tax came out to $25-something. The price point isn't great, but the portions are huge. I think my least favorite item is the whiz fries...it was just too salty for me. Seating is all outdoors. I parked right outside their door and $1 in the meter bought me 40 minutes, which was enough time to order, pay, and eat. It's alright and worth a try.

I'm on a quest to taste 5-10 different cheesesteak restaurants before deciding which restaurant I like the most. The outdoor food experience at Philly South was good. The cheesesteak tasted good, and the staff were friendly, professional, and helpful. I ordered my cheesesteak with Provolone cheese. It was hot off the grill, delicious, and the bread was warm. When I compare it to the Philly Cheesesteak I had from Philly's Best Cheesesteak a couple days ago, I think Philly's Best wins out by a small margin. It was the cooper cheese at Philly's Best instead of the provolone cheese at South Philly that won the taste test for me. The french fries at South Philly were a little too salty for my taste. Overall I like both locations, but I would go back to Philly's Best before South Philly. Both are good choices though.

Good food and great service! I don't claim to be an expert on Philly cheesesteaks, but I have tried both Geno's and Pat's in Philadelphia (both are tourist traps, I know). I have also tried Boo's here in L.A. Out of these four, I personally prefer South Philly Experience, and would rank it first place. I ordered cheeseteak "wit" onions and provolone cheese, no peppers, as well as a side of whiz fries. The cheesesteak was so flavorful, and the bread was good. I'm told their Amoroso rolls are brought in from back east. The whiz fries were also delicious, and the portions for both the cheesesteak and the fries were generous. A place has to be really good for me to battle traffic from the western end of the valley to do repeat visits. This place is definitely worth the drive for me. I came on a Saturday around noon, and the place was not too busy, but I did see a good number of people stop by to pick up takeout orders. They have a few tables with umbrellas out front on the sidewalk. This is a family-run operation, and everyone was friendly and helpful. I will definitely be returning soon!

Hard to find a decent cheesesteak in LA and South Philly Experience provides a solid option. They also had a Strawberry Cream Dr. Pepper, which I hadn't tried before. Definitely a to go spot even though there's seating outside.

So I recently had the south Philly experience. I can't speak too much to the service cause I got a DoorDash but when I got to it was fresh it was on time so that was really great. I want to start with the sweet chili wings because I didn't know what to expect from them, but they are so delicious so saucy so juicy they were tremendous no critiques no notes highly recommend . This is one of the cheesesteaks that I've had in California. You know a lot of places claim they have great cheesesteaks, but let me tell you something about South Philly experience has a pretty good cheesesteak on their hands. Nice juicy steak tender the meat well season and the portions on it are phenomenal . The bread was nice soft chewy like from soaking in the cheesesteak delicious I would 100% order from here again. The honey mustard also surprised me because I'm a big honey mustard guy, and their honey mustard had all the right flavors in there. I couldn't tell you what it was but delicious. Also, their hot sauce is very interesting cause I don't know what it is, but it's very tasty.

Onions in the cheesesteak. I requested no onions.

I don't usually write reviews like this but this was really disappointing. I placed my order on Postmates. My Order: - Cheesesteak w/ Sharp Provolone and Hot Cherry Peppers (No Onions) - Whiz Fries The cheesesteak came full of onions which I cannot eat and I think they completely forgot to add salt to the meat because it was completely flavorless and dry. I ended up eating about a 1/4 of the sandwich and had to throw it out. The only positive was that they use good bread for the sandwich. The Whiz Fries were okay. Similar to other whiz fries I've ordered from other places. As someone who orders Philly Cheesesteaks from all around LA, this was disappointing. Hopefully someone at the business will read this and make sure they are more careful with the orders. Maybe without onions and with some salt, this could have been a completely different experience.

10/10, no notes. I got the Italian sandwich with everything on it. Amazing. My boyfriend got the cheese steak fries. Amazing. And they're super nice, rarely do you get a shop in LA with such great hospitality, they have everything down right. Seating, food, hospitality. So good.

Great place to grab a quick sandwich. I was actually quite surprised at how large the sandwich is. The overall the Philly cheesesteak with cheddar, onions and hot peppers was delicious. The reason why I'm giving four out of five stars is because I think they don't have any hot sauce available like other places I've been. Also, the bread that my sandwich was served on was very cold on the outside, which I thought was very strange. The inside was very hot and the cheese was melting, but the bread was just very cold almost like it might've been frozen before? Service was fine, there is a lot of outdoor seating with umbrellas. No indoor seating.

I love me some Philly Cheesesteak. This is literally the closest to actual Philly. I hate that it's so far away but when in town, I try to make my way around. Service is great and friendly. Definitely need to sit down and enjoy this as it's a pretty good size.

Cheesesteak with whiz, onions, and banana peppers is elite. I also ordered the Italian hoagie, it was huge! I placed an order online for pick up. Walked in and grabbed my order that was ready and waiting. So good.

I did not like the bread. The quality of the meat was not there. It was not really that great of a sandwich. I got a Philly with American.

I feel the seating was a little tight in certain areas put they did make clear walking paths. Traffic to get here was horrible but we got lucky and found a non-metered spot about a block away as soon as we arrived in the area. For apps, we ordered the garlic bread and meatballs. The garlic bread was different. It was a sourdough loaf with oozing garlic butter inside but was only toasted whole so overall ate very soft and I missed the typically toastiness I get with most garlic bread. The flavor was still very good, especially dipping it into the marinera that accompanied the meatballs. For entrees and sides, we ordered the lasagna, the eggplant tortellini, the chicken parmesan and the broccolini. I can only say they really like their parmesan here. I'm not the biggest fan so I brushed a lot of it off. The tortellini was the star of the show for me and I think it was partially because all the other dishes were marinera + parmesan so it gave a nice break in the flavor profile. Something to consider when ordering next time. The chicken parmesan was delicious. I found the lasagna to be okay and would pass on the broccolini next time (to be fair, I got rid of all the cheese so that probably change the flavor profile they were going for).

I know, crazy, right? But we did it! You'd think just having the Porterhouse would be enough -- apparently it wasn't because we started with bread. At our server's recommendation we chose the bruschetta. Wow, what a fantastic start! The crunchy charred bread topped with the creamy Burrata and house made apricot jam was beyond delicious! Then he asked for his favorite pasta from our last visit -- SPAGHETTI ALL'ARRABBIATA. We can never get tired of this one. The house made pasta coated in that spicy sauce is so satisfying. Then came the steak. Although our server warned us that it was huge, we were still surprised when it arrived. But then came the included sides of fried fingerling potatoes and Ruchetta salad -- to say 'generous portions' is an understatement. I literally laughed at the mountain of salad when it arrived. It was all just incredible. The Prime Porterhouse was at the correct temperature, seasoned well and melt in your mouth amazing. The fried potatoes were hot, crisp and tasty. The salad was so good that the husband ate it -- I couldn't believe it! I tapped out early and in order to leave room for dessert, I had to force the husband to stop. We chose the CROSTATA DI MARMELLATA because of the apricots. We were so happy to have dined while they're in season and incorporated into Mother Wolf's menu. We were then surprised with complimentary sorbet (NETTARINA) and gelato (VANIGLIA) for our birthdays. Beautifully presented, the sweetness of each dessert was perfectly balanced and a wonderful end to a fantastic dinner. And this goes without saying -- service was impeccable. Thanks to the Mother Wolf team for another great experience!
