Southland dental is not clean! The staff is amazing. I always have a good time talking to people there. They're very nice and understanding but often times they'll see you in a chair and you have to wait an hour till you're even seen this time while I was waiting I decided to look at the tools that they had already put in my mouth and realized how dirty and disgusting they were. I believe photos attached to this review, but I'm truly appalled. I'm not a germophobe, but I am a very clean hygienic person, and I wouldn't even touch my toes with these tools. Let alone put them in my mouth when I explain to the people how dirty the tools were. They gave me clean and shiny tools so if they had them, why weren't they used in the first place? I'm not sure if they were hoping I wasn't going to notice or if they do this often, but especially in dental care if tools are getting worn out they need to be thrown away and replaced. I'm really upset with what went in my mouth today. Do not recommend this place to anyone, especially if you're a female. The x ray tech is related to someone working there and disclosed he was an ex convict which is how he even got the job and was super unprofessional and rubbing his body close to me while taking the x rays. After wards the doctor didn't treat me at all instead talked to me for 2 hours on how I should give my life to Jesus. Super unprofessional. I was fortunate enough to have Dr.Akhavan as my dentist. I came in and was treated by the friendly staff, and i did not have to wait long to receive care and treatment from the dentist. Dr. Akhavan did a great job of explaining the process and was attentive to my pain, and it was very smooth and kind and had me out of the office within an hour, which was amazing. WORST experience I have ever had. My daughter had her appointment for extractions at 2:30pm yesterday, they brought us in rite away but they didn't work on her till 5:30pm, every single dental assistant was coming into the treatment room repeating over and over about her procedure, it was very unorganized. I have been with Southland Dental since my sister told me about him 19 years ago, she knew how much I hate dentists (since when I was in my early 20s I was under anesthesia to have a bad tooth removed the dentist performing the extraction told my then boyfriend I had 8 bad teeth and asked his permission to pull them while I was under) I wake up to 9 teeth gone. I LOVE DR LINN the only person I let touch my chompers!!! I come all the way from Alaska , to continue with my dental needs . The dentist and staff are great but the wait is horrible. It takes at least 45 minutes just to be seated at the dentist chair and then another 20 to 30 minutes or so to have any procedure started. It just feel like either they are either under staffed or overbooked. If you have the time to wait, then this dentist office is ok. For me, this is just too much. We went in as a walk in and signed in, 20min later another guy come in as a walk in and signed in. 20 more mins later the guy after us got called in than 10min later my aunt got called in. She was only called in to sit down. I got her a fast breakfast because she is diabetic and needs to eat. I come back, she eats we talk and we notice they guy that came in after us got his X-rays done and teeth worked on and was leaving. We were waiting an hour and a half. We left and went to another place and they signed us in, paperwork and X-rays in 30min. Even if we have an appointment we still wait 3-4 hours. We are seriously tired of all the waiting. This is a place I would recommend, they have great customer service, making you feel right at home, treating you as if your family and nothing less. All the dentist/ DAs & receptionist are all great, from the moment you walk in, you feel welcomed, no matter your ethnicity. I actually came here after being treated unfairly by another place around the corner. They heard what went on and took me in immediately, finding time even when they didn't have any. They work so hard, I've seen them miss breaks to ensure patients were taken care of! The staff here at Southland Dental is so friendly and professional they really making going to the dentist worry free! Those at the front desk were so helpful even when I was dumb and filling out the wrong part of the application sheet they didnt make me feel like a moron! =) They guy who took my X-Rays struck up small talk with me and told me that my Boyfriend could come back and watch me get tortured. JUST KIDDING. This is second time for do crown ,I did another places for first time more expensive but everything good . My second is not so impressed I did the crown with one of the Doctor (don't know the name) and I hurt the gum after a week my temporary crown fell off and I back to see with another doctor (dr.lin) he take care very good and tell me what going on . Went into Southland Dental with a dental emergency and I was a little or a lot nervous. I had been with my regular dentist for 12 years, so going to a new dental office wasn't easy. Thankfully the staff at Southland Dental made me feel right at home. They were all super sweet and helpful. The dentist and hygienist were both very gentle, which is important for people like me who have phobias with needles. There is hassle free parking available and excellent service. Used to be a patient of theirs. Dr.Lin was a great dentist however his staff are a little lackluster. The receptionist (Veronica/Vickie?)was too chatty and not very helpful about booking appointments. Each visit was at least 2+ hours. Recently moved out of the city and no longer in the area. Notified them multiple times that I will no longer be able to go to them. However they still won't stop calling me. My mother is also a patient of theirs & For some reason they have my number listed as her contact info. I've also corrected them multiple times and gave them her number so they can actually contact her instead of me& they still keep calling! I absolutely hate going to the dentist who dosent!? But Dr. Lin and his staff make you feel so comfortable and at ease. I had a terrifying experience with a root canal before so when it came time to get another one I was super nervous and scared, but I just put my music on and tried to relax and before I knew it I was done. Dr. Lin was super gentle and I didn't feel a thing! I recommended this place to my mom and she loves going here now too. The only thing that sucks is the waiting time sometimes when I go I get in and out sometimes not so it depends on if there super busy or not.
