Oh my - sourdough pizza? Say less! Ever since I had sourdough pizza when the COVID-19 pandemic started (in early 2020), I've been trying to find more great sourdough pizza places and had seen Speak Cheezy on my social media feed for a while. I finally had the chance to go during the weekday and here's what I got: - Black garlic: Mozzarella, Black & Roasted Garlic, Black Pepper, Basil, Parmesan Crema. $25 - PUMPKIN HONEY BUNNY They have gluten-free crust, for an extra charge, but I've never had it, so I can't speak to it. My pizzas came out in about 20-30 minutes and was so delicious. But one start was lost because of the price - it is so expensive. They have slices too that you can pick-up - it depends on the day. Pro-tip: Do take-out because if you have a big group, there won't be any space since the inside is very minimal, with no more than 5 benches to sit. It's a hole in the wall place after all, with no frills. Parking is all street and very, very tight, given it's on 4th St. and therefore hard. read more

Speak Cheezy just ruined me for other pizza. The Spicy Vodka Meatball is unreal. Perfect crust, rich vodka sauce with real heat, tender meatballs, and that balance where every bite hits. Easily the best pizza I've had in Long Beach and honestly... maybe ever. I also tried the Buffalo Chicken Ranch, and now I'm stuck because I genuinely don't know which one I love more. Decent neighborhood pizza spot in Belmont Heights. It's on the corner of 4th and Termino, nice neon sign, can't miss it. This was my first time here, called in and ordered the Cheese Please. They make you prepay over the phone, seems weird. It was ready in 15 minutes. I found a street parking spot right in front. It's a hole in the wall place, no frills. The kid was nice who gave me the pie. The pizza is good, I'd give it a 3.5/5. The sauce has a decent flavor. Sourdough crust tasted good but was undercooked, same with the cheese. If they kept it in the oven another 3-4 minutes it could have been cooked correctly. I'm down to try it again but I'll ask for it well done. Great elevated pizza shop. The service is hit or miss but the pizza is stellar in my opinion. I love their style of crust it's airy and crunchy while still having substance and carrying the toppings perfectly. I believe it's sour dough but am not sure. My favorite by fair is the Brooklyn Bee! I AM COMING BACK!!! I got the AKA Vodka pizza and added the parmesan cream dollops, and it was honestly one of the best pizzas I've had in a while. The crust was exactly how I like it--light, fluffy, and crispy all at the same time. The size of the pizza was perfect for two people, but honestly, I probably could've finished it myself because it was that good. The ranch tasted like dill which I love and it was perfect for dipping the crust. Now I want to try every other pizza on the menu because if this one was that good, I can only imagine how the rest are. Visited Speak Cheezy for the first time today to try out the @lbfoodcoma collab pizza, morning glory curry pizza. This was soooo good!!!! Definitely the most unique flavors I've ever had on a pizza and all of them went so well together. But that wasn't even the best part- the crust!!!! OMG the sourdough crust is seriously the best I will definitely be back to try other pizzas just for that. We also ordered the buffalo wings. I didn't love those at all, but I also didn't dislike it. Was craving pizza I had gotten recommended this place and was excited to try but I was so very let down my boyfriend ordered two pizzas on line told me it gave him an estimated time of 30 min. He went to go pick it up and was told they weren't ready . So he waited then he was told they burned them so they remade the pizzas after waiting another 30 min there he gets the pizzas and brings them back ,our pizzas were completely wrong he ordered one pizza with vegan cheese and they forgot to put sauce on it we also got the lbc pizza with regular cheese well they put vegan cheese on that one and the pizza dough was undercooked so everything in the middle was goopy. I'm not sure how it was determined that Speak Cheezy is the best pizza in America, but whoever decided this is absolutely right. This pizza is transformative. Every one of them looks like a work of art, and somehow they taste even better than they look. I've had the Truffle Shuffle and the LBC and they're perfect - complex flavors, fresh ingredients, delicious puffy sourdough crust, and incredibly friendly service. Just stopped by for lunch and Ed was kind and attentive to every single customer. These pies are a little pricey, but absolutely worth it! The pepperoni came with hot honey drizzle all over , I liked the larger slices of pepperoni than the usual tiny disks. Basil scattered over the top was a nice addition. The margherita pizza was equally good. Added anchovies to this for a bright contrast. Each large slice is enough to eat folded up and still keep all the drippy sauce in. Came with a small container of Calabrian chili oil, which is another pop is spice. Pricey but definitely delicious. No trouble ordering or picking up. I ordered a Truffle Shuffle and it came after 20 minutes. It was fresh out the oven and pretty hot. The pizza has a very good cheese pull and yummy mushrooms. The crust is both crunchy and chewy and has a sourdough taste. I liked the piped splotches of sauce on this pizza. It tastes like a truffle sour cream and is full of flavor. The only downsides of this establishment is that the price is a bit steep (but you get what you pay for) and the building is a bit small so there isn't a lot of seating when it gets busy. We got the LBC, you gotta like the fennel sausage to like it, we would probably skip the fennel sausage and just do pep with the cream if we would order again. There is minimal seating. It's more of an order ahead and take home type of pizza place. Recommend ordering ahead. Good customer service. Just came in to pick up two pizzas for an online order. Originally when ordering, estimate was originally for 6:08pm. When arriving the pizza was not ready, the young ladies at the counter said it would be 5- 8 more minutes. No problem, I come back in a short time later and wait for 20 more minutes. I go up to the counter and ask as I see pizzas going out, turns out it's been sitting in the warmer behind the whole time I've been waiting. At least ask me what I'm doing since I'm sitting around for the order if they actually called out my name like the young lady said when it was ready. That's what was done with other patrons waiting. It isn't the first time we ordered from speak Cheezy and they are usually solid. My husband and I were so excited to try their Birria Pizza based on the photos they have on their menu as well as Instagram. The photos are very misleading and we were severely underwhelmed when we received our order. It doesn't even look like the same pizza! No consome, like pictured and stated on their menu, or anything else that makes it a birria pizza! Cheese and 5 pieces of meat!! We might as well have ordered a cheese pizza at this point! I asked the cashier about it and we were assured that the meat was under all the cheese ( it wasn't) such huge disappointment!!! Found this little gem walking back to our car. Noticed a group walking with a box of pizza so decided to go look for the shop. I love me some Brooklyn style pizza, but theirs is totally different. It's square cuts and looks like it's Chicago style. Note that they only serve this style for lunch. Then it's the thin brooklyn style as the day goes on. We had their Brooklyn Bee slice and a traditonal pepperoni square slice. I learned from Ron that Carino made our Brooklyn Bee which is salami and sausage. Ed is the one that served us and Ron rang up the pizza. I thought that they would just bag up the slices but Ed said it'll be about a minute or two to heat up the slice. I was shocked and thrilled that they did that. Most places do not do that. So that was already another plus for me! Friendly service and heating up my food. We sat at the island wall and Ed served us the hot pizza. When I looked at my pizza i noticed a drizzle of sauce which I thought was just some olive oil (yes some places do that and I do not know why and do not recommend it either). On top was fresh basil. I love me some basil! Anyways, Ed drizzled a unique sauce and I asked him what it was. He said he it was hot spicy honey. Let me tell you, that spicy honey was off the hook! It adds just enough of a kick in your mouth. If I have to add spice to the pizza, it's not pizza to me. The balance of the honey, spice, fresh basil and the crunch of the crust, but soft inner dough was just awesome. It felt like the pizza melted in my mouth. I noticed the bread was uniquely different. Like I said I'm not a Chicago style pizza fan, but the thickness of this bread is surely appreciated. While chatting with Ed and Ron, they mentioned that the dough is not any regular dough. It's sourdough bread. That was a twist that I appreciated. We ate our slice of pie (pizza) so fast that we ordered a whole pie to go. Of course we had to have half pepperoni and half Brooklyn Bee (Salami & sausage). And while we waited, we chatted with Ed and Ron some more. Ron offered us a treat of his special baked, salt chocolate chip cookie. You know when you've had a great meal and then you just want to top it off with something sweet..the cookie did just that. It will make you do a "Perfecto!blowing kiss on your finger tips". We have not had a good pizza in a looong time. We would give it six stars if we could. The pizza store has been voted as the local favorite in 2021 by Slice, and it has also been named the Best Pizza in America by the Washington Post. The walls of the store are painted red as a tribute to San Francisco, where sourdough was first made. What we ordered: THE LBC (Mozarella, Pepperoni, Fennel Sausage, Ricotta, Sliced Garlic, Oregano, Parm) - Both pizza were presented with blistering crust from the pit. There were more fennel sausages than pepperoni slices, with ten dollops of ricotta. The crust was different from the usual Italian/ New York thin-crust pizza. It was definitely tangy and chewy. If there is an identity to a CA-style pizza, sourdough bread is the core of its fantastic creation. This pizza complemented well with the FRESNO CHILI OIL (extra). TRUFFLE SHUFFLE (Mozzarella, Parm, Shrooms, Truffle Crema, Lemon Zest, Cheek Parsley) - This white cream pizza hit the mark. It had a truffle aroma with a delicate taste of the mushrooms. This pizza complemented well with the DILLY RANCH DIP (extra). GREEN GOODNESS GEMS (Green Dressing, Lettuce, Citrus, Ninja Heart Radish)--The secret is in their dressing, which tastes somewhere between parsley and ranch. The sauce was both overly salty and sweet? (It was a strange combination, the urge to drink water while eating it was constant). The toppings had varied done-ness, some were burnt, others were undercooked. And it was so greasy, I ran through many many tissues. For the price, it is definitely not worth it, and most likely not worth a re-try. Risking a repeat of this, for that price? Absolutely not. Its one redeeming quality was the salad. So I've never been here but was recommended by a friend to buy pizza dough for my own pizza oven. Ordered 7 pizza dough balls online and was even provided with a confirmation of order and pick up time of 2pm on 12/24. (Yes I know it was Christmas Eve) I drove 40 minutes in pouring rain to get there only to find the location was closed with a very bad Health Department notice attached to the window. I also called their listed numbers and was greeted by an automated answering service that said the place was open. Nobody to contact, poor phone service, and they took my payment online even though they were closed. Fingers crossed that I get my full payment back. read more

I loved TieDye better than cheese but cheese is also very tasty. TieDye has more different flavors so I feel I can eat many slices if I have a bigger stomach. I saw a post about this place on Instagram. The sourdough crust is what drew me in. I'm a sucker for sourdough. It's a cute little pizza shop on the corner of the street. It has minimal seating, but still easy to find a seat as most people were ordering to-go. I opted for the ready made slices (square). One was buffalo chicken and I believe the other was margherita (they warm it up for you if you dine in). In the display, the slices didn't look that big, but when I was handed the slices in a box, they were huge! Both pizzas were really flavorful and packed with ingredients.
