I only managed to get the appetizers since they never put my order in to the kitchen. We had the chips and the shishito peppers to start. They were both decent. My fiance got the chicken, which was solid, but nothing spectacular. I ordered the triple - tri tip, pork shoulder, and chicken. It tasted of air and was perfectly invisible. Alameda local here, food is amazing, especially if you love meat. Get a taste of fine dining fusion in Alameda right off of Park Street! Super walkable before or after the meal. They have a wide assortment of decor ranging from traditional floral patterns to Star Wars Themed space ship decor giving a great ambiance. This spot is great to enjoy a drink, eat an exquisite meal with friends and loved ones. Again, if you love meat, they do it really well. Their fixings are also perfection, I'm a fan of their marinate onions and chimichurri sauce. All in all, a great local spot and definitely a must have. Delicious food. Unique stuff from this family run BBQ spot. They have great outdoor seating and are dog friendly with dog bowls available at your table. Their corn fritters are awesome and they make their own jam for them in house. The food is priced fair for what it is but not something I can go to every week. Staff is friendly and quick and great with recommendations. You can make reservations online in advance and order online to go. Always a go to when friends come to visit. Me and my boyfriend had an early dinner here yesterday. They have a parking lot across the street from their restaurant with tables set up so customers can sit and enjoy in a safe environment. I ordered the burger, it was well prepared and tasty! My boyfriend ordered the Trips triple (I think that was the name) and his food was good too! Of course, I asked for a bite lol. I preferred to order a salad instead of fries with my burger, unfortunately. they were unable to accompany that request. We also asked for salt and pepper and they didn't have any. This review is solely based on what I ordered: the spicy chicken sandwich. My husband got the ribs and loved them and would recommend them. However, the chicken sandwich was awful. I couldn't even finish it and only took a few bites. I don't know what's in the spread -some kind of cheese or something-- but there was no flavor. And while the chicken was super crispy and cooked perfectly, all I could taste was grease. There was little to no seasoning and even with all the chili flakes, it wasn't spicy. It was honestly really gross. My husband said it's like they were trying to do too much, and it completely fell apart. The potato salad on the side was *extremely* undercooked and the potatoes were rock hard and there was no seasoning... again. Coleslaw also sucked (according to my husband). So $14 in the trash and I'm still super hungry... now hangry. I did really enjoy the cheesy fries. Those were super good but there was barely any cheese. Also got the banana pudding, which was gritty and had no flavor other than just sweet. Really appreciated the surprise cookies though! I heard great reviews and recommendations about this place! I was really looking forward to celebrating my son's birthday!! It was a busy night, so I took that into consideration. However, I felt that service was rush, not attentive, one of the server in the front had this upset look on her face the whole time. Not so sure why, but she did not seem friendly at all or made our night welcomed. The food was mediocre, some items better than others. The Brussels Sprout's was dried and had too much sauce. The sandwich patty was really salty. I asked our server if there was any house special she can recommend, she said the menu is what they are serving. Then I see other tables with prime rib and other dishes , which I wish we have known. Also, I saw on IG that tonight they will be giving each table something special on the house, nothing of such sad mentioned to us at all. Lousy and expensive lunch. Corn fritters appetizer with strawberry jam is a bad idea and they had zero seasoning on them anyway. Fried rice appetizer was tasteless. Chicken salad for $15 had about 6 small bites of chicken, mostly dark meat with a blah dressing, undercooked burger, and a $25 chicken meal was also bland. What on earth goes on here? One glass of wine and two soft drinks and it cost us $125 with tax and tip. For lunch!! Someone needs to revamp a tired and bland menu. read more

COVID 19 REVIEW They've taken over the parking lot right across the street. The old tire store takes over border of the back and the left side of the lot as you walk in. Spinning Bones has put up tents on the front and the right side of the lot, so you're kind of enclosed inside this lot. The dining currently takes place in the tents on the right side of the lot. It's not much to look at with tables and chairs on asphalt and space heaters. Food is pretty much the same as it was pre-COVID, but with an affordably priced hamburger on the menu too. What I'm really looking forward to are warm nights where this place could really be a totally cool hang out. There are some big trees shading the lot and with it being all enclosed and lit up, I could see this lot turned into a big party place to drink beer, dance to music booming in the middle of the parking lot, and the vaccinated having a good time. Looking forward to some real potential to this set up. read more

Oh so delicious! We ordered the corn fritters, the beet salad (added a protein), the salmon rice and pork shoulder (added potato salad). The salmon rice is this perfect mix of rice, fish, and greens! The flavors were so delicious! This 'side' serving was more than enough for a meal. The fritters were tasty but would have loved to have them fresh out of the fryer. The beet salad was perfect, so flavorful and fresh. My husband had the pork shoulder, which I didn't taste, and said it melted in his mouth, tender and flavorful. We'll definitely eat here again! Incredibly bold flavors! My husband and I had planned to check this place out then the shut down...What better time to support local business for takeout! We ordered pork shoulder and the rice, rice baby. The textures, flavor combinations and sauce are truly unbeatable! We love to cook at home but this will definitely be our treat night dinner out. Takeout from here was very good! As someone who doesn't eat pork, but does eat all other meats, I am sometimes disappointed by places like this - but not Spinning Bones. We started with the pickles appetizer, which included kimchi, pickled onions, pickled gourds, pickled jalapeños, and pickled cucumbers. I eat a lot of pickled things, and these were delicious - and ample enough for 2-3 people to share. Both the beef roti and the sweet roti were delicious; they tasted like the ones I had in Thailand and Singapore. I had the chicken salad, and my husband said he's never seen me devour a salad like that. The rice, rice baby was heavy on the egg, and actually good with the pickles - or with a sauce. This is a nice addition to the Park St. restaurants. They servers are friendly and they madE reallly good use of the space. Our family of four enjoyed the pickles, fried chicken nuggets, chicken salad, roasted cauliflower with chili oil, and meat platter. All of the items we're done well and the chicken is SO juicy and tender. We also ordered a kid's bento with beef, which my kids devoured. SIP Update: They do pick up and delivery orders. We were looking for someplace SAFE to dine out and your Boneyard was perfect - it's a corner parking lot turned into al fresco dining with generously spaced socially distant tables, well over 10 feet between tables. The food was delicious and well prepared. Our group of 6 had the corn fritters, the chicken lickin, black pepper beef, pork shoulder (my fave), mustard cabbage, spicy cauliflower, beef roti and mochi - all for under $125. What a "HIDDEN" jewel of a restaurant tucked in the heart of Alameda. I'm so glad they are open for outdoor dining.... Everything we have tried has been delicious.... We had Trip's Triple which consists of chicken, pork shoulder and flank steak... The flank steak was cooked PERFECT, nice and juicy not overcooked.. the jalapeno garlic garum and chimichurri sauce was delicious. i had Shishito Peppers which were "BLISTERED" on the grill or pan and the unami flavoring salt and lemon aioli were my favorite, wish the portion was a bit BIGGER as i was HUNGRY... Butter Mochi - my favorite in home comfort food desert was like "Grandma - recipe" Not too sweet and with the flakes of Coconut a real treat.... Take out service in the past was good (food was WARM) but the shishito peppers were not as crispy as when you sit there for dining... I hadn't been recently and I enjoy their food, so I stopped by this week to take a look at the menu. It was around lunchtime so I walked in and waited at the counter. A woman was in the back and came out to tell me they weren't open on Tuesday. What got me is that she was looking at me with this ice cold stare so I don't know how welcome I would feel to return. First visit and I wasn't all that impressed. Food was good and let's say interesting. Service was a little disjointed. Simple things like sweetener for ice tea took far too much time and questions to acquire. Who doesn't provide sweetness or sugar for ice tea? But here's what really burned us, the special of the day. Most entrees were around the mid-$20s. The special was a beef short rib and the price was not posted. It looked good so we ordered assuming the price was in the same range as the other entrees. We were wrong. When we got the bill that one beef rib was $42 for one fatty rib and the side was additional. It was good, but not $42 good. The server should have given us the price. And yes, we should have asked. So we can share the blame but not entirely. Like I said, the service was okay but it's been open for a couple months and those kinks should have been corrected after a week. Nope, probably won't be back. Nothing extraordinary to command those prices. read more

Covid hurts but Spinning Bones has found a way to offer a casual experience outside, converting the space across the street into a bit of a Asian inspired Rotisserie bistro AMERICA style! The food was fresh and pleasantly adorned. I hade the Burnt Ends Roti which came on flatbread with marinated onion and a dollop of potato salad atop arugula on the side. It was tasty and not a "mound-o-meat" you might find other places highlighting their slow cooked fare I also tried the Salmon Rice. It was delicious. If I was at home, rice with some minced salmon would be good, here it's a whole new level. Sesame, light vinegar, nori strips and of course tender morsels of salmon make this a must order side! read more

Had the opportunity to dine in at this restaurant before Covid started. We usually get the Double Dutch which comes with chicken, ribs, salad, and some side sauces. The chicken is always so tender. We also have picked up orders from them as well. Everything is well packed. I follow them on Instagram and occasionally they offer specials which always look so amazing in the photos. This is turning into one of my favorite restaurants in Alameda. I saw that they recently opened and felt bad that the Covid hit right after they opened. So Ive ordered few dishes for takeout. They were delicious. I'm not a salad person (who is) but I've already had their chicken salad 3 times. The black pepper beef was slightly over cooked but delicious nonetheless. I like mine rare. It's excellent that they also have kids menu. My daughter loved the edamame and falafel combo. Oh and their Mochi cake was delicious. They threw in a homemade rice crispy treat for her... Nice, right? But when he comes back to give us our doggie bag He just hands us the check and just says hope to see you again... We were the last table left They were cleaning up They're open till 9:30 And it was 9:09 when we paid... I would have liked to have seen the dessert menu... I would've liked to have had a chance to try their desserts Looked good from the pix on yelp But, we weren't offered the chance to have any... There was time Plenty of time To offer us a choice/chance to have dessert... For whatever reason... We kinda felt like we were rushed/pushed out... My burger was awesome! The fries were good, but a bit too salty. I didn't like the "Chickin Lickin'" because it was all dark meat and that's not my jam. The aioli that came with it was interesting, however. Plenty of space to sit outside; dogs allowed. I think there were heaters. I'd come back for burger. read more

It's a Japanese fusion American food. The food is finely dress with extra bit of favor, suiting the tastebud of most Asian. The lorreke that we ordered is the best dish that we enjoyed, smooth cheesy potato fritters with a touch of seaweed flavor. The Trip's Tripple were perfectly cooked and seasoned too, especially the pork shoulder and beef, fat but compliment each other well. Unfortunately the chicken in both the trip's tripple dish and the koji chicken dish are disappointing, the meat are not well-cooked. We have been waiting for them to open with anticipation, and we have been rewarded! First time we had the pepper steak and ribs, with sides of fresh pickles and peppers. All seasoned nicely, and very fast professional service. Need it to go, and they have Friendly packaging for that service. A week later we dined at the restaurant. Service was great, and only a 10 minute wait for the table. We had peppers again to start, as well as their corn ... I joked that the corn was delivered with out the kernels as we devoured them so quickly. For our main we had their Trips Trio. Steak Pork Shoulder and chicken and added Party Rice. They include sauces with the meat, but I don't know why ... the meats are all cooked so perfectly with the right amount of seasoning, seems the sauce get in the way. So I put it on the rice! Nice coconut pie for dessert. Friendly professional service, nice atmosphere, great food. We will be back, with a larger group so we can try and share new things as well as what have become favorites! read more

I moved here a few months ago and have been searching for a restaurant that doesn't fry everything on their menu. I saw on a flyer that Spinning Bones (thought is was a bicycle shop) was a sponsor for an up coming FAAS auction so gave them a try. It was a wonderful change and very tasty food. We did take out and got the chicken, ribs, potato salad, beet salad and Mochi. I didn't like the coconut Mocha but that's because I like to old fashion grandma style but it was still good if you've never had old school butter Mochi. Chicken was very tender and nice flavor, ribs were meaty and the salads were very fresh with a nice dressing that didn't over power the greens. This is going to be my go to restaurant when the family comes over for dinner! read more

I went to this place to get dinner and ordered 2 appetizers & 2 entrees. We got all of our food except 1 of the entrees! We ended up waiting 45 minutes before we had to track down our server just for him to tell us he never put the order in! He kept walking by us as we were waiting & did not check on us ONCE within the 45 minutes we were waiting for our food. I ended up telling them to take my entree off of the check considering I didn't eat it (we were waiting for our 2nd entree to eat together). Wasn't a good communicator & not the best server.
