When we got off our flight in California we ordered an Uber. Our Uber driver recommended this place because it wasn't far from where we were going. Once we arrived, we were set immediately. This place gave a mom and Pop diner feel with the baked desserts in the glass case right when you walk in. We ordered some breakfast just a platter with eggs, potatoes, and a waffle. I especially like the waffle and the fact that they put sautéed onions and peppers in their fried potatoes they were delicious . The price of everything was reasonable as well. I would recommend this place for large groups like family, brunch, dinner or something like that.

Service was excellent. Very clean. No waiting. I got their signature omelette and added chili. The veggies were slightly crispy yet tender. Hash browns were crispy and brown. Coffee hot and fresh. I could had ordered anything off the menu at 8am (except a baked potato). My breakfast was delicious and very enjoyable. Thank You! Spires.

A cozy breakfast spot with amazing menu options! The service is great and polite. I tried the House Omelette, which comes with avocado and veggies, and it was delicious. The hashbrowns were cooked perfectly. We also had the strawberry French toast with chocolate sauce and fresh strawberries, which was really good. A solid breakfast spot for families.

I SOOOO miss Spires! they used to have a location in Monrovia. My daughter and I would go every Friday and Saturday. So we were in the neighborhood and decided to revisit one of our favorite restaurant! I got the pork chop daily special and my daughter got the sirloin dinner. I love the daily specials and dinner specials. Comes with SOUP AND SALAD AND A DESSERT! It just fills my heart and stomach with so much joy! Service is awesome!

I ordered many items as I was hungry and like to try varieties of items at diners. Everything was not good, over cooked. I'm guessing if I was drunk and came here after a few drinks it might of tasted better. The staff was friendly although a bit slow to getting to you. The restaurant was clean as I could see. The menu is huge so maybe I just need to order something else next time.

Had a spires in my neighborhood when I was younger. When picking up my god dad found that there was a spires open and wanted to feel nostalgic. Came on Monday around 2pm sad to see the restaurant completely empty. Restaurant had nice Americana on the walls just like going back In time. The lady waitress and male waiter were nice and friendly. Ordered a 1/2 sandwich that came with soup n salad ordered the beefeater. Food was bland and needed seasoning. The bread was soggy, and the beef was really chewy. Salad wasn't crisp probably because was put on a hot plate with the sandwich. This place is definitely not what I remember it to be unfortunately.

The Spires near my neighborhood was permanently closed. I had to go to Ontario airport so why not give this place a try. So far so good. The food was as good as I remembered from other location. While I asked for water the waiter even offered me hot water, though I prefer cold water. I add one star for this gesture. The ambiance was like other old school coffee shop.

My wife and I were in Ontario for a horror convention, so we wanted to grab some food before hand so we didn't spend $250 on overly salted pretzels while walking around. We had no idea what was in the area, but when we drove by Spires Restaurant down the street we knew we needed to give this place a shot. From the outside, this place looks like an East Coast diner and that's something we both have a huge soft spot for. We came here around 11:30AM on a Sunday and were pleasantly surprised when we walked inside. Not only was this place absolutely packed, but the inside matched the outside and it was just a charming establishment. The menu here was a little bit of everything! From Burgers and Steaks to Salads and Soups, Spires has pretty much everything a person could want and that's perfectly okay when it's a diner. The servers here were friendly and quick to take orders, provide water, and check in on us throughout our visit which was nice, but the most important thing is what came next, the food! The photo below doesn't look like a game changer and it doesn't look like the best burger in the world.....and it wasn't, but it tasted really good and it tasted the exact way I want a burger when it comes from a diner or a similar place. I ordered the "Western Burger" which was basically a cheeseburger lettuce, bacon, BBQ Sauce, and some onion rings on it and it was absolutely delicious. On top of the burger being great, the french fries on the side were thick steak cut and were pretty dang good as well, a great meal! Overall, Spires Restaurant brought me back to 1990s New England in the best way and it's definitely a place I would come back to in the future. I really enjoyed the food I ordered, the restaurant was super comfortable, and the staff was great as well. Need a good hearty meal in Ontario? Spires gotchu.

Excellent breakfast option near the Ontario International Airport. The service was excellent. Food prepared on site and served hot! Everything was seasoned well and portion size is great for sharing or leftovers. Definitely a restaurant for locals and visitors alike, everyone is greeted and treated with a smile!

OMG! The food here is absolutely delicious. Everything I had was a 10 and just the perfect flavor. The place is old but very clean. The employees are very nice and the prices very reasonable. This is a great place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Plenty of parking and near the airport and convention center. I highly recommend this place and give it my #Orangetree Approval which is the highest rating I can give. I will definitely return to try their extensive menu.

Another typical average diner with very friendly staff, a clean dining room with an old school layout/design, and relatively quick but average food. I went with the breakfast burrito and fruit. The portion was large and the burrito was packed with a lot! I wish the hashbrown were crispier but that would be tough to stick into the burrito. The salsa was pretty good that came with it and had a little bit of a kick. They split their U shaped booths in half by removing a table insert, which makes it kinda awkward because you are basically sitting with random people in the same booth. The prices seemed a little higher than nearby diners but nothing outrageous.

Our local spires (Monrovia) closed about a year ago. Needless to say, we were not very happy about it. Sooooo... we were out in Ontario one day and low and behold, we drive pass a Spires! We were actually on our way to somewhere else, but, I commented to my husband, I think we have to go there for Lunch! And that we did. Our waitress (Sherrie) was so kind. She did tell us that the Spires in Monrovia closed because of the increase of the rent that the property owners were going to charge. We were really glad to hear that Spires DID NOT go out of business completely. We do miss it in our area, but, we know where to go to get out Spires Fix now. Only 20 miles away! OH, I almost forgot to mention the prices! They have gone DOWN! On their menu it states, "Gas Prices are down, and so are our prices"! It was good to see someone actually "lowering" their prices for a change... read more

AWFUL! I should have heeded the previous reviews but this place was right across the street from our hotel. The fried chicken was severly over fried, but it had to be to fry off all the feathers. You could see the feather stems that were covering every piece. UGH! They obviously don't serve quality food as after I pulled off the grease soaked skin, the meat was 1/2 slimy fat. Do youself a big favor and don't waste good money on this disgusting food. read more

My friend and I recently had lunch here. I was very impressed with the great service from our server. (don't know his name) but was a male, Hispanic and had a very friendly demeanor. We ordered the Tilapia plate (special of the day) and the food was delicious! I ordered mashed potatoes, salad, fruit and garlic bread with my lunch and was very satisfied with the portions. The fish was prepared just right and I really enjoyed the whole meal! The server came back often to see if we needed anything and asked us how everything was. He was also behind the counter, register area when we first came in so maybe he was a manager - not sure though. Just very nice and accommodating. We plan to return again soon! Prices were definitely reasonable! read more

It really wasn't a surprise being the youngest person in here by 40 years. I ordered the pot roast and while it did fill me up, I'm pretty sure it was cooked with a microwave. The service was the best it could be seeing how there were only two servers and twelve plus tables. If you eat purely for sustainability then this will do the trick. Let's just say Denny's is a big step up. Maybe I should've got breakfast for dinner. read more

Friday night March 25 after 6 pm, this restauraunt was completely understaffed. My Father In Law of 71 yrs young, had to ( for the first time in his life) send his food back. The Fetuccini w/ Shrimp was completely cold! Out of a group of 7 adults 4 had to have their food sent back because of temperature. The waitress was sweet and courteous, but Management gets a BIG "F" for understaffing. Also, The New England Clam Chowder was the most watered down version he's ever experienced. read more

Restaurant is OK. My employer sent me here on expense acct, wouldn't have gone there otherwise. Food and service were OK every time. Lots of food. Nothing to write home about but it was good and not expensive. Typical Denny's style restaurant. read more

Was there Sunday morning 9/25/16. I must say it was the worst service I have experienced in a long time. Food was cold, had to ask 3 times for extra butter, coffee refills few and far between. I ordered the Lumber Jack breakfast and got over medium eggs instead of over easy as I ordered, the meets were all barely warm and I had to remind our server half way through eating I was missing the waffle. read more

Once a year we go to the convention center in Ontario. This restaurant is directly behind the convention center and next to the airport. It looks pretty old and outdated but this is the best diner food I've ever had. The last time I was there, I had the lemon chicken breast with rice, fries, dinner roll, and dinner salad. All under $10. The salad was fresh, the dinner roll was nice and soft. The fries were good thick fries. The rice and chicken were amazing! So delicious. This is now or go to spot in Ontario. read more

Very disappointed !!! Sub-par service! Waited way too long for our food ended up leaving without eating. Manager was so nice and very apologetic but the waitress was rude and annoyed. Too bad I remember Spires being good. Oh well read more

Came here today, sitting in restaurant right now. Must say service was okay, not the greatest asked for ice tea, they gave me hot tea instead and black specks in my gf's soda... Food not good at "ALL". My eggs were cold and sausage was toooo salty.. Did not finish it. My gf ordered the country skillet the potatoes were very soggy and her scrabbled eggs were very runny looks like she didn't even eat any of it... We shall never return again. Just helping and saving you fellow yelpers out there from a bad restaurant... Actual rating 1.5 stars not 2. read more

Got food poisoning here. Violent sickness that started about 3 hours after eating there. Staff denied their food had made me sick. Lasted most of the best day. I know what food poisoning is and have had it before. Asked for a refund for the meal never received it. Be careful. read more

For those feeling the pinch in the wallet and like to dine to out but find yourself saying everything is to expensive for too little food or overpriced food, then this is spot for you! No coupon necessary, daily specials which include soup, salad, and dessert with the meal for around $8. Too bad the Monrovia location closed and now I have to make a trip to Ontario, but well worth it. read more

I used to go to the one in Monrovia and was so sad to see it had closed. :( I was shopping at the outlets and decided to check this place out. My mom and I loved their fried zucchini sticks back in the day. I am happy to say that they still are the best things ever! The service was good. No complaints. I just hope this place stays around. read more

Not sure how Spires is still around. This place was showing its age and probably needed a makeover 20 years ago. Service on my visit was poor and slow, although they got slammed at 800pm. Food is cheap though, dinner for 2 about $20, but not great. read more

This was our first time at Spires. We are here in Ontario for my 65th birthday for four days of hockey. Spires is next to our motel, we thought we would take a chance. I had the cod dinner, it was very tasty. The vegetable soup is daily, very good, everything was very good. My husband's steak was very good too. Very resonable prices on every meal. read more

With many choices to pick from, Spires is always the place to go. They have top quality customer service and always make sure everything is perfect. I had the chance to meet the owner of this place and he told me how they take quality time in making the food. He was a wonderful guy and very funny too! But the one lady that sets the tables asked only my husband if he wanted coffee, so she brings back 2 coffees and I told her I don't want coffee I didn't order that because you didn't ask me, I want soda.. I told her just because one person wants coffee doesn't mean both people do.. read more

It was 9 at night and the parking lot was empty so we were skeptical except for the great Yelp reviews. The decor is straight out of the early 80's -- and not in a cool, throwback way, but more in a "no money has ever been spent on remodeling in 35 years" way. But the service was awesome, the food was great, and the prices a bargain! Maribel was so nice and made sure we had everything. For less than $10, I got the daily special which included - soup --- potato leek was piping hot and not salty like most soups - salad --- no wilted lettuce, and it was cold and crispy, just the way a salad should be - garlic bread --- huge piece! Not burnt, but I had too much food to eat much of it - baked potato --- can't really mess this up but it was nice and hot - grilled fillet of sole --- probably 14 ops and it was perfectly seasoned and cooked so it was still moist - bread pudding --- amazing!!! Not mushy and not hard and was soooo good! My parents -- who are crazy hard to please -- said they want to come back for breakfast, and that never happens! read more

We're in town for the day and saw this place on Yelp close to our hotel. I got a steak special with bread, a salad & soup, a baked potato and a New York sirloin plus dessert for $9.99!!! And the food was AMAZING! & the staff was super friendly and very attentive! Would definitely recommend it to anybody in the area! read more

They have a very strong odor that can be smelled well outside the restroom area, even while standing near the front register. On warmer days it's even more noticeable, since they don't run AC in the restroom . It's difficult to enjoy a meal when such a prominent part of the restaurant creates that impression. Service has also felt less polished than it once was. It's normal at the end of the meal to wait quite a while before finally having to walk to the front to get our check.

The Turkey Club was good and fries were fresh and hot. They had a nightly special it was Rib Eye Steak night and It came with veggies, salad, soup (we chose minestrone), garlic bread, and a small dessert (chocolate ice cream) now I ordered a slice of Carrot Cake because I was eyeing it from the display case. Came here twice in one day during the ALA convention. Within walking distance from the convention center, great prices, good food, big portions, nice servers especially Juan.
