I was excited to have a Thai restaurant so close and am hopeful that my experience is a result of them being new. That being said, this place was terrible. First, I tried to call to make sure they were open. I defy you to find a phone number for this place anywhere. The online menu looked good so took our chances and they were open. We already knew what we wanted after checking out the menu on their website. We told the woman what we wanted only to be informed that they we not making their full menu yet..then why advertise it as your menu. Still wanting to try the food we read the very abbreviated menu she handed to me and placed the order to go rather than sit in the very bright, very loud dining room that looked more like a school cafeteria. We just live across the highway so we were able to be eating at home within 3 minutes of getting the order. We each took a bite of our food and a spoonful of soup. it was all terrible. Tried another couple of bites before giving up and tossing it all. We were so disappointed after being so excited about it. As I said, I am hoping that this is all growing pains and may give them another shot in a few weeks but initial impressions were not good at all. read more

Quick dinner around 8:30PM. The restaurant was not full at all and we were seated right away. We ordered the panang curry shrimp, Thai fried rice and chicken satay. I ordered a saketini. The food was delicious but my drink tasted like gasoline. The panang was spicy but creamy. All in all the food was good, but our server was extremely annoying. He assumed we didn't know anything about Thai food, and kept trying to get us to change our order. Once he brought the food, he barely checked on us and we had to flag him down to get refills on our water. He offered other tables chopsticks and sauces but we had to ask for it. Who knew that this would be an excellent Thai cuisine?!? The word BAR is in huge letters and Thai cuisine is in smaller ones and the place is named spoon and fork? Really? I was looking everywhere for a great Thai restaurant, and so happy to find this place. Very excellent fresh and tasty (8) spring rolls (We had already eaten two when I took the picture!) and I had the pineapple fried rice with grilled shrimp. Perfection. This place is tucked into a little corner in a shopping center with an unsuspecting name. This was some of the best Thai food I have had in awhile. We started with dumplings and spring rolls. Since I normally do not like peanut sauce I asked for a side of sweet and sour sauce. The peanut sauce was very good, a well balanced sauce not just extra oily peanut butter like you find at many places. The sweet and sour was also not out of a jar. The hot oil amped up the spice without hiding the flavor of the food. My friend ordered the green curry, which was flavorful but not overwhelming spicy. I ordered the spicy Thai basil with chicken. My dish was tasty, colorful, and fresh. I added a little Thai chili oil to add a bit more heat. We definitely recommend this place. read more

Spoon & Fork was a nice change from the rest of the restaurants in the Dripping Springs area. We've ordered both fresh and crispy spring rolls that were good. We've also ordered pad thai and tom kha that are decent - once with chicken and once with tofu. What I like about Spoon & Fork is that their food always seems fresh and not super greasy. They have the best green curry (chicken) that I've had in a long time. It has coconut milk, eggplant, bamboo shoot, bell pepper, Thai basil, and kaffir lime leaves. The curry is a good balance between being not too thick and the opposite of being just a coconut soup with veggies and paste. It reminded me a lot of what I had in Cambodia. The Pad Thai is good but I miss the more traditional style of wrapping it all in egg. They have a terrific ginger tea. The service is very personable and polite. I will definitely return as this is my go-to spot for curry. They also have a bar, but I have not tried it. If you want a fresh, home-made feel style of food, this is the place. Another reviewer mentioned Aroi, which is a food trailer. I've eaten at both and prefer Spoon and Fork. Some of the soups here use a lemongrass broth that has great flavor. read more

Very disappointed with our experience this evening. We ordered two appetisers and two main dishes. After 45 mins the first appetiser arrived. When it got to 60 mins and the second appetiser had not arrived we decided to leave and just pay for what we had eaten and our drinks. This was the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant.
