Stopped by today with a friend for a quick breakfast. The team behind the counter is friendly and efficient. 8 bucks for a bagel with cream cheese is a bit steep, but hey that's center city and they do come with a heaping amount of cream cheese. I got the sesame bagel with cinnamon sugar cream cheese and it was delicous. I'm not the biggest fan of Spread's bagels, they are a little too bready for me, but still tasty! My friend got the rosemary bagel with scallion cream cheese that she raved about. Spread isn't always my first choice for bagels, but I'll still pop by time to time and it's always good, just not my favorite

5/24/25 Ate List: Benjamin Franklin - 7.3 Place is a vibe. Here for it. Love it. Bagel sandwich was good. Heavy on the Hollandaise. Delighted by the Salted egg bagel. Great place!

Ordered the egg white sandwich with scallion cream cheese. The cream cheese was so good, the sandwich was warm and delicious. The girl at the counter was so kind and patient with me when I was trying to decide and changed my order. The place itself feels very cozy and was clean. Highly recommend!

Forget about NYC Bagels for a sec: this one takes the CAKE!! Impeccable, consistent and savory that has kept its charm for YEARS with its BYOB alcohol policy, oven roasted bagels, and irresistible combinations like the "Egg White" with lite Swiss, truffled mushrooms, Turkey bacon and egg white. You can feel the scent of freshly baked bagels, each one stacked high with bold, creative toppings. The bagels are soft yet perfectly toasted, and characteristic ambiance of classy chic somehow works despite being served coffee and bagels. Whether you're craving a classic or something a little more adventurous, there's gonna be something for your palate. I was blown away by the variety and to more inventive options like the artichoke parm cream cheese paired with a poppy seed bagel. The balance of flavors in every bite is incredible, and the freshness of the ingredients makes all the difference. If you're a bagel lover or simply looking to try something new, this shop is worth every penny. And you'll just keep coming back for more no matter where you live...

Multiple times they have put zero or minimal cream cheese while charging 6.75. BAGEL PLACE SUCKS. Don't ever order a breakfast sandwich they are even worse! Kismet down the road 100 percent has better breakfast sandwiches and customer service.

Honestly really disappointed. Ordered via DoorDash - iced mocha, plain untoasted bagel with butter, and side order of bacon. Latte had a pool of chocolate syrup at the bottom and would not mix, wasn't given a straw. Bagel was toasted with next to no butter so it hardened quickly and wasn't great. Bacon was literally iced cold and covered in grease. And to top it off, there were long hairs wrapped up in the wrapper of my bagel. Just an all around disappointing experience when I was really craving a good breakfast :(

You can't go wrong with any pick here! You could practically go everyday for a month and try something new each time, so many delicious options! The service is quick. They have great lattes made in house with multiple milk and flavor options. All the bagels are wonderful, the rosemary is my absolute favorite! They offer a variety of different bagel sandwich options, ranging from out-of-the-box to classics. There is absolutely something for everyone here- as basic or adventurous as you want to be!

The bagels taste as if they were made fresh, which is great, but they have a hint of sweetness to them that I just don't like. They also don't have the "chew" that I'm looking for. However, they are fresh and bready and fill up my belly . Their spread is extremely good.

the bagels are good but half the time my bagel barely has any cream cheese. If I am spending over $6 I think I should get a decent amount of cream cheese

Because one bagel just didn't seem like enough this morning...

I keep getting disappointed by Spread, so I think I'm done. The reason? I always find the bagels to have a bitter taste from a little bit of char, which I do not find appealing. Spread is also super popular, so it takes a long time for your order to come out - including if you order in advance online - so for me, the combination of a so-so bagel and a long wait are not worth it. Warning: If you have any respiratory issues, you might want to stay outside this small eatery. The bagels are made with a wood-fire in front of you, which is actually pretty cool to watch, but smoke tends to fill the space. You will definitely leave with your clothes smelling like a campfire and even without an underlying respiratory illness, I felt a twinge of bronchospasm in my chest.

Not tough but a nice, soft seeded sub roll. Seeing it arrive was a little overwhelming but I kinda thought the thing was light and was easy to finish off 1/2. The Fig and Pig - the fig jam was outstanding. Great sweetness with the saltiness from the prosciutto and then to top it off, the crunch of the cutlets. Excellent. As I was leaving, I saw a cutlet, with mutz, broccoli rabe, and roasted red peppers. I WILL be back for that. That looked amazing. Service was very friendly, prompt. I went to Middle Child a few weeks ago just after 3, only to find it closes at 3. Today I returned, around 1, and there was a good crowd there having lunch. I ordered the Surfer, and the Hash Brown Potatoes. The Surfer is Middle Child's most popular sandwich. It's made on a Ciabatta bun, and has a thick layering of tender, lean, House Turkey breast, with melty Swiss cheese, arugula, blueberry chutney, and Duke's mayo. It's hard to describe just how delicious this sandwich was. My biggest concern was the Ciabatta bun - it's not one of my favorites, as I've found them to be tough and difficult to bite through. My fears were quickly put to rest after the first bite! The bun had a slightly crispy exterior - and when I followed through with my first bite, the tender, soft interior of the Ciabatta was a pleasant surprise. In fact, it complemented the thick savory Turkey, arugula, chutney and mayo! It was one of the best Turkey sandwiches I've had. Now, if that wasn't enough, don't forget, I ordered the Hash Brown Potatoes. It said Hash Browns on the blackboard, see attached picture, but these 'weren't your Mama's hash browns'! They are described online as Latka'd Hash Browns. They are thick crispy squares that combine a potato pancake latke with a hash brown texture. The interior reminded me of my mother's potato kugel, which I still reminisce about. In one word, those fried crispy potato squares were outstanding. It's 'a must try' and goes so well with the Surfer! Last, but not least, the Limeade! It was so refreshing! Not too tart, not too sweet... just right! I'll be returning to Middle Child in the not too distant future!

Turkey was tender, bread (ciabatta I think?) held together fine even though the sandwich was pretty loaded. Definitely a lean-over-the-plate kind of sandwich, got some chutney on my fingers, but that's kind of expected with a sandwich like this I guess. Also got one of the latke hash browns on the side and that thing didn't last long at all - crispy outside, soft in the middle, I finished it before I was even halfway through my sandwich. Might've been the better item honestly, don't tell the sandwich that.

They serve you fresh waster (Drinks to order include Hanks, Boylan's, Harney and Sons, Teas etc.) and will serve you at the table or you can walk up and order at the counter. They also have sides that include - tots, fried pickle chips, onion rings, fries, fried mozzarella and Zayda's pickle spears, chips and cherry pepper shooters. They have a couple of vegan options and GF rolls for extra $$. The staff was more than happy to give recommendations and their favs. My first lunch was The Eye - $15 Ribeye steak, Cooper Sharp American, fried onions came on a seeded Liscio's roll. If you enjoy the somewhat newer Cooper sharp style that's out there you'll like theirs. The Cooper sharp was gooey, mixed in well with the meat and on the heavier side. The ribeye was thin cut, delicious and the portion was pretty hefty. Second visit I went with - The Nad - $15 Chicken cutlet, fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, arugula, Mike's Hot Honey that came on an unseeded Liscio's roll. The portion size was good, chicken was fresh with good breading, the hot honey was a tad on the heavy side, but the flavors all came together pretty good on this one. Sweet, salty, light bitterness from the arugula and some heat from the hot honey. I added Thin Cut Idaho fries to make it a combo for $3 extra and I have to say they were delicious. They smelled like McD's and tasted similar. They are cash only, but have an ATM on site. You can use a card if you order online. The one bathroom they have was pretty clean and organized. I will certainly stop back for a visit if I'm in the area to try out more of their menu. Thanks guys!
