I like this place because they have all sorts of different interesting lattes and drinks. I usually try a different one every time I go. My favorite hot drink is the Orange Blossom, I love oranges and I can't think of a place where I've ever seen this flavor added to a latte despite seeing flavors like lavendar, matcha, and tumeric tons of times. It has a little zesty kick to it, it would be perfect if they garnished it with orange rind shavings. My favorite cold drink is the Strawberry Fields which is refreshing on a hot day. It contains mint and rhubarb bitters. The Black Swan (not listed on menu) looks pretty and interesting but I wasn't a fan. It had some sort of weird sweetness to it. I then realized it was made with honey which I'm ambivalent about so I got it again sans honey. This time it was too bitter so I understand why they'd want to use a sweetening agent to it. Finally stopped by Spro at Spark on a Saturday afternoon. Apparently there's always a line in the morning but we came during their down time so it wasn't too crowded. Their "over the top" section was super interesting as they made those drinks for a barista competition, so we got the Strawberry fields and The Cold Fashioned. Every weekend I look forward to a chance to come here and try something new and creative. Normally a fan of espresso drinks with alternative milks (lactose intolerance troubles drive fortunate creativity!) I embraced oat milk for the first time with Spro and couldn't be happier. My go to drink the Orange Blossom with Oat Milk and often an extra pull of espresso (quad shot). It's amazing both hot or cold and really makes for an elegant and lush morning treat. The orange isn't overpowering but rather lives as an essence through the silky oat milk and the honey adds a mouth watering sweetness that isn't strong but perfectly complimented. In addition to traditional menu items (like the amazing pour overs - recommend any of them), the off-menu delights are definitely worth a try. The Black Swan is by far one of the most creative, beautiful and delicious surprises I've had in a long while with an intensely dark color from the charcoal. A must try if you are a fan of espresso drinks with character but not necessarily sweet. Beyond the super creative drink menu, the food items represent both classic comforts like overnight oats and almond toast to unique comprised dishes like the Umami Bomb which is a take on avocado toast loaded with insane flavor. While I haven't tried many of these yet I have admired their complexity on the menu and beauty on the dish as friends and acquaintances delight in their flavors. Overall I really adore Spro and feel super fortunate to have it around the corner as a compliment to the Sparks Truck Park. They open earlier than the rest of the park which is great for us early risers and always provide friendly service with a smile and amazing flavor. BLACK SWAN!! Secret menu item and it's actually pretty good. I'd recommend getting it hot with oatmilk (of course). It's basically a latte with activated charcoal & honey, was thinking that it was going to be a honey latte considering that activated charcoal doesn't have flavor lol but it didn't really have a honey flavor to it... it was actually not super sweet and was really light, weird that I can't find right words to best describe BUT good & it's worth a try!!! Fair warning that the activated charcoal does leave a black ring around your lips! It took a while to get our drinks, and the latte art seemed like it was made by a barista who's still learning latte art, love that. Not sure if they're understaffed either as there were at least five/six people in their truck and there were only 2 people ahead of me. I've ordered a few things from here namely Indian Summer (cardamom was a lil overpowering), Madagascar (delicious, pretty much a fancy sounding vanilla latte), and their regular latte which is good. I am very grateful to have tried the coffee here because it has been a while since I drank coffee this good. I have ordered the cafe latte, so I didn't try the coffee on its own (as a house blend), The coffee has a very fruity and nutty taste, and the milk made the drink very creamy. There was no sour taste and there was a mellow bitterness. It was almost like drinking a very fine hot chocolate. The barista at this food truck were very friendly. When I wasn't familiar with the menu (dippy?) they explained it in detail. I also liked the quirky names for food. Th Umami Bomb avocado toast with the satisfyingly salty yet subtle pearls of ikura pushed my buttons, the right way! Not to mention the sous-vide eggs that had delicate whites and rich creamy yolk was fantastic. As an egg lover, it was on point since I love runny, soft-boiled yolks; however, the yolk was a creamy, not runny, texture. I've never had an egg with this uniquely satisfying texture. It's served on perfectly-crisped sourdough toast. Though I'm not a coffee-drinker, I was introduced to the decaf version of the Coco de Mer concoction made with TCHO dark chocolate and oat milk (who knew we could milk oats!). It tasted like it had dairy, but contained lactose-intolerant-friendly ingredients. Every thing tasted fresh and made with simple ingredients, incorporating TLC and patience into its preparation (case in point: the eggs are cooked via sous vide method for 2 hours). I love matcha but no regrets here. The Orange Blossom was floral, fruity/citrusy, and sweet with none of it being too in your face. The employee was super friendly and service was A1. Light at the end of a long and dark tunnel. [Insert joke I normally insert here.] I just got off a phone call that gave me hope, but we'll see how it goes.... I stopped by Spro Coffee Lab on a sunny Sunday afternoon. The sun shining, a light breeze blew through, there were fluffy dogs waiting to be petted, children eating ice cream. It was all so perfect. [If that sentence doesn't set up the rest of this review to be dismal, I don't know what does.] On to the actual review! I got the umami bomb (avocado, black truffle citrus ponzu, furikake, black sesame, togarashi chili & ikura salmon roe on sourdough rye), the special breakfast toast (2 hour sous vide egg with truffle mashed potatoe on sourdough rye), and the coco de mer (tcho dark chocolate, coconut, SPRO, condensed & fresh milk). At first, I marveled at how affordable the prices were (~$8 for the bread and ~$5 for drinks) vs. the other food trucks, but then I saw that the portions were definitely smaller than average. Presentation was definitely their forte, but including the relevant utensils (straw, fork, etc.) with the meal was not. The umami bomb was very Insta-worthy but the taste was just ok. The ikura was pretty firm and a good flavor. The avocado was decently ripe. The truffle flavor didn't really come through. 4/5 on presentation, 3.25/5 on taste, 3.25/5 on value The truffle mash on the breakfast toast was actually really truffly and I enjoyed that. The yolk on the egg was not too runny (more gelatinous), whereas I would have preferred a true soft boiled egg. Same points as above The coco de mer coffee was actually one of the better coffees I've had in a while. The coconut taste didn't come through at all (a plus for the coconut-disliking bf), but was perfectly smooth. The dark chocolate was balanced by the milk (I would have preferred a dark chocolate drink, but this was good too). 3.5/5 All of their drinks looked so creative and refreshing-- the food snob in me will likely be back for these! read more

There was a short line of customers but the girl at the window took orders quickly so there wasn't much of a wait. We both ordered single origin pour overs for $4.50 each since that's the best way to enjoy really great coffee! My hot drink, was smooth with the most beautiful floral undertones and made the perfect start to a lovely day in San Francisco. This is my favorite coffee shop in the world and though I only got delivery, my heart has been won forever. This was a game changer in terms of hipster artisan coffee, tea, and food. I often find menus with innovation that lack the real taste follow through, but this wasn't one of them. While you may be concerned the hype is just hype, let me assure you it will live up to the good reviews. I am also high so I'll add that as a caveat to my raving, but my boyfriend is not and still loved it just as much. If you're still in on my opinion, here's a break down of our order: Drinks: -Coco De Mer: like a refined and perfectly balanced drinking chocolate with that extra caffeinated coffee kick. The perfect levels of sweet, creamy, tart, and bitter living in harmony. -Cold Fashioned: Do you come from a family that puts a Terry's chocolate orange in your stocking every Christmas? Then this drink is for you. Citrus punches your tongue, delightfully blending with the roasty toasty cold brew to give a certain illusion of chocolate. I really was surprised by this one. -Pixie Dust (seasonal): A honey yuzu serrano oat milk latte you say? Yes please. Serving up sweet and tangy yuzu/orange notes blended with a smoky campfire. Was expecting a bit more kick from the description but this creamy smoky concoction did not disappoint. Food: - Veggie Tales: Holy smokes this is the most elevated delicious egg salad sandwich of all time. Chunky perfectly seasoned egg salad, red onion, guava rum sauce, sharp cheddar, tomato, on a ciabatta roll. Yes, I'm just parroting the description but it's taste is so genius I'm going to have to try recreating this using the bottles of the guava rum sauce they sell. It's so good I would eat it every week for the rest of my life. -Strawberry Guava Mochi Waffles: Chewy sweet tart goodness. I had some homemade cream cheese frosting on hand and added some on for the most delectable treat in the world. -Coffee Crumble Cake: The only thing I wouldn't give 5 stars. A touch too dry for me, but maybe it was just the slice I got. The flavor is great but the inside is sorta playdoughy for lack of a better word. Definitely made me want to drink my coffee though so I can see it being a great accompaniment for the right person. I would probably still try it again to see if it's always this texture. -Swiss Beats: It's sitting in front of me but I was so in love with the food that I had to come here to share with the yelp world before I finished. First off, the location is so cool. It's located at the Spark Social Lab. It's a great spot to grab some food and hang out with friends. My bf and I ordered the fifty shades and black swan. Both drinks were amazing! I really liked he fifty shades which was a sweetened earl grey tea. The black swan is off of their secret menu and is a charcoal drink sweetened with honey. It was a little too sweet so I think next time, I asked for less honey. Their food looked so good, but we were headed to brunch. Spro Coffee Lab is truly a hidden gem and I'm so happy to have happened upon it. The owners are so passionate about not only coffee but also food! Chatting with them gave me the opportunity to see how much they care about every little detail to ensure everyone has a great experience. I was blown away! The crab cake was also pretty good but it was on the dry side so I wish there was some more sauce, although it wouldn't have been as aesthetically pleasing that way. The crab cake paired well with the cool hunter cold brew drink, which was also stunning. Last but not least... THE MILLE CREPES. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a slice. You will NOT be disappointed! I had the black sesame crepe cake and it was incredibly light, fluffy, and simply perfect. Together with the black swan latte from the secret menu, it made my heart happy :) Spro is located at Spark Social SF, along with many other food trucks. I saw the amazing and unique coffee options at SPRO, and had to come by and check it out. SPRO is a food truck that is located at the Spark Social lot, and they serve food in addition to fancy coffee drinks. There was already a good sized line at 11:15am on a Saturday, and it took about 20 minutes to order and receive my drink. Although they have 3 people working at the truck, the food orders slow the line way down. I only came for coffee this time around (although the food looked delicious, so I'll have to come back to check that out), and tried: -Pour Over (Single Origin: Las Murgas, $4.50): Solid pour over, and it was very smooth.
