My kid (3 yr old) and pancakes/eggs and devoured them. I also ordered a side of bacon for him which is enough for 3 adults. So why 4 stars? There is always a huge line out the door which is an obvious sign of good food. However, the convenience when standing in a 20-30 min line with a toddler is not great. You order with the hope you will find a table when you get through the line (which we did). The majority of tables are outside. I didn't love that I had go inside to get a coffee and water refill. Had my friend not been with me, so I could leave my kid with her, I would've been incredibly frustrated. So, the 4 stars are more for the convenience with kid factor. Super yums!! Clean and organized establishment. Wait in line to order, BUT you don't have to save a table. They do it for you! Which is super convenient in my opinion. Our "server", not sure of his name bc it's rubbed off his name tag :( he was super attentive to us and others! Overall amazing service from him. I wanted at least 4 things from the menu... for myself. I ended up ordering the huevos rancheros with an add on of chorizo. Soooo good! My friends ordered the banana & macadamia pancakes. I've been here two times. The first time was during winter break, on a weekday morning. The line was surprisingly short and the food was fantastic. I got a banana and nutella crepe. The second time, it was a Sunday, early afternoon. Their omlettes are also very good. My only complaint is that their service is too slow, but I guess that's expected of such a popular spot. I live in the neighborhood and have eaten here 3 or so times. The food is only slightly better than an IHOP as they use real eggs, not powdered. The menu is quite extensive which is nice. However, I would avoid the oatmeal as it's cold, gluey and the raisins seemed to be several years old. Also, not impressed with the service which is delivering your food and filling coffee cups. As simple as that seems, it's a long wait for food to arrive and for coffee to be refilled. On my last visit here I sat inside for the first time. Loud music and hard surfaces make it cold, uninviting and not conducive to conversation. The seating is tight also. However, if the weather lets you, sitting outside is very pleasant. We paid $18 for my husbands eggs, sausage & pancakes and for my bowl of oatmeal. Thought it was a bit high for what you get. But it's Irvine, so who knows? read more

It was already past 10 am so we were hoping things would have started to die down, but some of the other options we found had long wait times. We arrived at Stacks around 11 am and there was still a line out the door. Once we realized it was walk-up and order versus sit and wait for a table, our hope was restored because the line moved relatively fast. 30-40 minutes later we were ordering. The ordering process was simple. There's a huge menu with tons of options and everyone in the group wanted something sweet and savory because it all looked so good. I have a food allergen and spotted GF French Toast on the menu and got super excited; however, when I tried to order them, they were out. Sad panda... Everything else we ordered (GF Lite Bite, GF waffle, Eggs Benedict, Cocount French Toast), as well as our drinks, were good. The drip coffee was okay, nothing special. Whereas, my buddy ordered an iced Americano and raved about it. There's adequate seating outside. Nothing fancy, just good enough. All-in-all, this place's specialty is there exotic menu (featuring multiple Hawaiian-inspired options) & the ability to walk-up and order. The con is they may be out of what you want to order and there could very well be a significant wait time. Bottom line, if I was in the area, I would stop by again and try something new. I got extra potatoes instead of refried beans because the beans have lard in them. The representative was accommodating and friendly. Overall ambiance is nice for a catch-up or causal breakfast. This last time I went on a Sunday at around 11 from the time I stood in line to when I got my food about 1 hour had passed. Considering it would take even longer than that to be seated at Snooze I don't think the wait is that bad. Despite having only one cashier this place tries to be efficient as possible by handing out menus to the entire line to speed up the process. I ordered the Spicy Chorizo Scramble which came w country potatoes and three corn tortillas (which i opted for instead of two pancakes). The food was good but not necessarily amazing or great. The reason why I give this place 4 stars instead of 3 is because they're menu offers things such as a spicy chicken waffle and loco moco and also because their sweeter menu items seem a lot more worth it. If I were to come here again I would definitely go for something like their Cap'n Crunch French toast. read more

Immediately I tried to cut the hamburger patty and realised it was not a freshly cooked one but a party that must have been from the day before, almost as hard and dry as a hockey puck.The rice appeared to be the same, overnight leftover. A good 4th of July brunch! Arrived at around 12:30pm and the line appeared a little long, but the wait wasn't! About a 15 minute wait until you're at the cashier. Grab the menu that's available on the counter closest to the door and get back in line with your party! As you get closer to ordering at the front, a server will swoop by, ask for your party size then assign you a number and inform you where you're sitting (it could be indoors or outdoors depending on how occupied it is indoors). Then you order! While standing near the door, be careful! Servers walk in and out all the time with plates of food. The water cups and complementary lemon slices are by the soda machine. Each table has condiments (salt/pepper, syrup, ketchup, tabasco). The restaurant is clean! The servers are friendly and hard working! While seated outside, the table next to us had an elderly woman complaining that she had left a dollar on the table but accused that someone (an employee) mistook it for a tip (according to them, they had just arrived and the dollar wasn't tip..?). Honestly not sure if she had all her marbles... But a server immediately notified a higher up (manager? Shift lead?) and the woman was given back a dollar! Woah, nice job!! The food was good, my cousin and I got the eggs Benedict (my 1st time, so I can't compare it) and the other got a scramble with fluffy pancakes. They're not shy on the side of butter either! This place was bomb dot com! Wish there heat lamps outside, but besides that it was fantastic. Short line, everything on the menu looked so good! Irvine finally stepping up its breakfast game in the most perfect way!! Stacks is not only delicious, but the amount of different flavor/food options, makes it almost impossible to choose what to order. Portions are pretty big and price is fair for what you get. I've been three times already and ordered differently each time and was never disappointed! I'll post a pic of the Oreo cookies n' cream Belgium waffle I ordered and let's just think about that for a second.. Oreo...waffle... I mean crazy right?! But soo good (but yea, definitely made me feel like a whale after...) Food is no doubt amazing but I guess the seating situation might be a bit challenging during certain times and line may get long. You go to the counter to order your food and they give you a # to put on your table, to deliver your food. We were going to sit inside at first because it was a little cool outside, but it was way too loud inside. Luckily, we were dressed warm enough. Heaters would have been nice. I loved the Spicy Chicken, Bacon Waffle! I also tried the breakfast burrito with Portuguese sausage. Unfortunately, next to the Spicy chicken waffle, it was too bland. Needed more salt and more umph! I showed up on a Thursday for brunch, 11am. Food is good, I had the eggs benedict with pork. We also had steak eggs, the California eggs benedict, scrambled eggs with pancakes, grilled cheese and the mango smoothie. Everyone seemed saisfied with their meals. My biggest complaint is that it took 30 minutes for the grilled cheese to come out. We were all done eating except for the 1 person left in our group waiting for grilled cheese. Come on now?! That was ridiculous. Lines are long as expected but to be fair, one cashier taking the order and everyone is in a single file line. Moat people are in groups so the line appears longer than it is. So have a little patience and it will move along. The place does get busy and we did sit outside, where someone brought our food to us. You refill your own beverages inside, so it's not like a waiter deal. Overall a good place to try out. Not that I LOVED this place but glad I tried it out. read more

There are not that many good breakfast places in Irvine, the only other one that comes to mind is snooze on jamboree. On the weekend you can typically find a long line at Stacks. My wife and I have tried to come here in the past but if you come around 10 or 11 plan on waiting at least 30-40 mins. This past weekend we were able to wake up early so we got there around 9am, there was still a line but it was moving pretty quickly and there was still plenty of seating outdoors. I ordered the combo with scrambled eggs, turkey sausage and a small stake of pancakes. My wife got an egg white omelet with a waffle. The food is decent, pancakes and waffles are good, nothing special about the eggs or sausage. read more

We specifically ordered strawberry banana nutella crepe but we got something else. The person who took the order would not correct the order and had the worse attitude.
