I had high expectations having gone to their other location in South Sac, and was hyping up our visit to my family. While we were seated quickly, the service after that was slow and it was difficult to get a workers attention. It was a busy Saturday morning, and there was plenty of staff available so it was hard to understand why service was slow. We attempted to get someones attention for a coffee refill as they walked by without any luck. Our server was nice, but they also seemed to disappear for a bit. When our food came out it was slightly warm but not hot like you'd expect it. Flavors and portions were good, which was the upside to it all. If choosing between either location, I would go with the location in south sac.

This place has been around for years, and I've got to make a trip down to the Florin location. That's the one I associate most with Stagecoach, the OG. We went here and were seated promptly on a Saturday morning. We were asked for our drinks order immediately, which was nice. The booths were surprisingly small in size. We got our orders in, and then after that it took a surprising amount of time for things to reach the table. Both drinks and food took a while to reach us, something to definitely be noted if you're in a time crunch. Refills for drinks--for the bottomless coffees we ordered--were slow to arrive at first. They had to be flagged down by several tables, but then the traditional service of them coming table to table happened later on. In addition to the long time it took for food to reach us, the food itself didnt blow me away. Despite it taking a while, the food wasn't even hot. It was warm, at best. The flavor didn't blow me away; comparatively not as good to other breakfast places. Toast was buttered by default; a noted for those who prefer it plain. I'll have to visit Florin, because this place was just OK.

    Raw uncooked

VERY DISAPPOINTING!! I ordered a slam for my pregnant wife and when I got home the hash browns were raw looked uncooked And tasted uncooked!! I called the restaurant to complain and the rude employee was like that's how we make them !! I've been to Denny's plenty of times to know better!!! I will attach the raw hash browns you be the judge!! DONT WASTE YOUR $ at this dennys location on elk grove blv!!!

It was supposed to be a medium well steak

Came in on a Saturday morning after wanting to try this place for a while. The wait was only about 20 minutes, which wasn't bad at all. I ordered the 8 oz New York steak with two eggs and potatoes, plus a side of ham. I also had coffee and orange juice. The drinks were excellent -- the orange juice was fresh and delicious, the coffee was great, and they kept refilling it, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, my meal came out cold. I asked our waiter, Kyle, if it could be warmed up since I didn't want to eat it cold. When the plate came back, it was no longer a New York steak but a sirloin, and it wasn't cooked medium-well as requested. At that point, I didn't feel like continuing to go back and forth, so I just let it be. Overall, the drinks were good and the staff was friendly, but I didn't enjoy my meal, which was disappointing. My husband had the #22 omlette with ground beef, spinach, mushroom & onion without the gravy. He was super disappointed because it was the first omlette he has had that didn't have cheese making it super dry. The filling was overpowered with beef. He couldn't even eat half of it. His hash browns were ok as was the sourdough. He did love the orange juice too and enjoyed the coffee.

On a Saturday morning, it can be busy and had a minor wait. The wait wasn't too bad about 10 mins. I had a great chorizo scramble with potatoes and wheat toast today for brunch with a girlfriend. The food was hot, fresh and flavored well. The server was nice and friendly and speedy with bringing items when requested. The ambiance is a typical diner and can be busy but clean and not too loud. Will come back again

Atmosphere is always good. Servers can be hit and miss, sometimes they're checking on you every 5 minutes and other times they only take your order and drop off the food with your bill. This morning the food was decent, personally my eggs were cold and there was too many chocolate chips in my pancakes for my taste.

Was craving some southern style brunch and paid a visit to Stagecoach! We were immediately seated and welcomed on a Saturday afternoon. The staff were attentive and friendly. My mom is vegetarian so we appreciated that they had menu options for her. We did have to check in on our dishes a couple times (seemed like the staff forgot about a few things) but they were corrected quickly. The food was good but not great. The water (or maybe it was the ice) tasted a bit off. The grits tasted like the water so they tasted off as well. Overall we felt like each dish could've been more flavorful and delivered the bare minimum even though it's not necessarily cheap prices.

I visited for brunch with my boyfriend based on Yelp recommendations. I ordered the chicken and waffles. While the waffles were enjoyable, the chicken was dry and the hot honey had an unusual taste. Additionally, despite requesting no butter on the side, it was still included on my plate. Our food also took a considerable amount of time to arrive. More concerning, was overhearing two staff members speaking negatively about a customer while we were dining. This created an uncomfortable atmosphere for me and my boyfriend. Due to these issues, we chose to leave without finishing our meal, paid and left disappointed.

Its been a while since we've been here but it won't be long until we come back! Food was delicious! Coffee hit the spot on a early Sunday morning. The hostess was so nice and full of positive energy. My wife commented several times how awesome she thought the hostess was. Our server was a very tall young man. I forget his name but he did a great job. I got the corned beef hash and scrambled eggs and it did not disappoint. My wife got a sausage scrambled with fresh fruit that she enjoyed as well. The decor is always so warm and inviting. Mel is doing a wonderful job keeping the tradition alive started by her mom and dad. I cant wait to come back!

Ground round with 2 eggs and home fried potatoes. So delicious!

Another great breakfast at Stagecoach! My omelette was hot, fresh, and delectable. It was the ultimate comfort food! This morning I ate the #22 omelette: ground beef, mushrooms, spinach, and onions, smothered in country gravy. I chose hash browns and a blueberry muffin. My server was friendly and attentive! Great service with a homely, welcoming atmosphere. Elk Grove love!

This double cheesei added bacon to was delicious. The Loco moco was a little overcooked but had good flavor. The service was good and it was the busiest part of the day but we were seated fairly quickly.

The veggie burger here is my go too for lunch. Always fresh and delicious every time. Thank you for the sweet potato fries. Great customer service.

The service was nice and the restaurant has a homey feel to it. The corn beef hash is a huge portion that can definitely be split into two meals. It was a little salty. I enjoyed the blueberry muffin that it came with.

The staff is super attentive and ready to fill your cups or take away any finished dishes. Tonight I had the plum salad. Sounded a little on the wild side but it was amazing! So sweet and refreshing I ate every bit of it! Loved it! For my entree I picked the braised short ribs .. it was so tender! I was put off by the blue cheese mash beneath it a bit but it's ok because the short rib was so delicious. For dessert I had the berry crumb cobbler. The cobbler came with a dollop of vanilla ice cream on top. It was great! The berries were sweet and the crumb top was so buttery. Everything flowed deliciously. My husband had the filet mignon.. he said it was made medium rare just as he asked. And of course the crème brûlée is the reason why he keeps coming back lol My go to for fine dining in Elk Grove! Love the intimate scenery with great food!

I made a reservation inquiry for my birthday at exactly 5:00 PM on Saturday, April 11, for a party…read moreof two. I was told the earliest available reservation was 7:45 PM. I then asked if there was any chance of being seated sooner as a walk-in, and Aubrey told me they had room for two at a table in the bar area. I specifically asked whether it was an actual table where we could comfortably order food, because I did not want to be stuck at some tiny corner setup where only one plate could fit. I also made it clear that it was my birthday and that I wanted something a little more formal and comfortable. I was told it would be in the front by the bar, not shoved in a corner, though it could be a little crowded if people were in the waiting area. When we arrived, the first issue was parking. For a first-time guest, parking was unnecessarily difficult to figure out, especially during a rainstorm. Since the restaurant is set up like a small house, it was not obvious where to park, and there was no clear sign letting us know there was parking around the back. Once we walked in, I immediately saw the table that had been described to us. It was right near the bar against the wall, and it was much smaller and more awkward than I had been led to believe. My girlfriend was wearing a dress, and because it was such a high table, it made it uncomfortable for her to sit naturally and comfortably. As soon as we sat down, I looked at the table and asked if we were really going to be able to order multiple items and eat comfortably there. I was told they would "pace it" and "make it work." That should have been the warning sign right there. We started with two ice waters, and even that nearly filled the table. They brought a pitcher and poured the water into the glasses. I asked for a separate cup of ice, and because there was so little room on the table, I had to ask the waiter to take the glass back and pour it for me so I would not spill everything. That is how cramped this setup was. We ordered the chicken breast special and a half dozen oysters. First came the garlic bread, and now we had bread, butter, two waters, silverware everywhere, and barely any room left. Then the oysters arrived, and everything had to be shifted around just to make it fit. At that point, the table had bread, oysters, hot sauce, waters, and multiple pieces of silverware for each guest, and it felt like one wrong move would send a glass to the floor. After we finished the oysters and bread, they cleared the table and brought out our entrée. We ordered the shareable chicken breast after I specifically asked whether it would be enough food for both of us. The waiter said it should be. In reality, it was about four small pieces of chicken once cut, three asparagus spears, and two very small scoops of mashed potatoes. For the price, it was honestly disappointing. I cannot remember the last time I paid that much at a nicer restaurant and still left hungry. What made it worse was that they knew it was my birthday and did absolutely nothing to acknowledge it. No small dessert, no candle, no gesture, nothing. Ironically, the only people who made the night feel special were another couple who had apparently been dining there for years. They overheard us mention it was my birthday and kindly bought us two sparkling wines. That was thoughtful, but it also added even more clutter to an already ridiculously tiny table. The service overall was underwhelming. We were barely checked on, and the whole experience felt awkward. The hostess kept staring at us throughout the meal, and at one point, she rolled her eyes when she went to take the Tabasco sauce, and we told her we still needed it for the chicken. For the prices Boulevard Bistro charges, I expected much better service, better communication, and a much more comfortable dining experience. Instead, the whole night felt misleading, cramped, and disappointing. I will not be coming back.

This is a fair review…read more Mimi's is definitely a cozy spot with excellent staff, but quality can be hit or miss. I've been dining at Mimi's Cafe for many years, and while it still holds a lot of cozy charm, it's definitely a mixed bag now vs. 15-20 yrs ago. It was 5 stars back then. The Positives... *Friendly Staff: The service here is consistently warm, welcoming, and accommodating. *Cozy Ambience: The restaurant provides a great, comfortable atmosphere that is particularly relaxing and ideal for older adults. Tbh I have an old soul with some social anxiety. So Mimi's became an instant fav in my 20s for the ambience alone. *Great Brunch Selections: The menu offers a fantastic variety that is perfect for breakfast or brunch. It's truly all about the brunch at Mimi's! I don't think they could ever mess up a pancake, waffle, or French toast. *The muffins: Their muffins are unbeatable! So delicious and fresh. The Downsides... *Bland Flavors: Certain classic menu items have become a bit bland and lack the rich, robust taste they had 15 to 20 years ago. *High Price Point: For the quality you receive, the prices feels a bit too high. Plus they have done away with the free bread and carrot cake baskets. Although I believe they may still give you free bread, but you'll have to ask. *Timing Affects Quality: The timing of your order matters immensely. If you order a breakfast item during evening hours, parts of it might arrive tasting old, hard, and reheated. Recommendation:It remains a wonderful place for breakfast and brunch.

We tried to go to Cattleman's for lunch and discovered they don't open till 4pm. So, we decided on Mimi's on the other side of the parking lot. There were 8 people total there for lunch when we arrived. We ordered; half chicken meal, French pot roast and the trio platter with chips, the artichoke dip, chicken wings, chicken quesadillas. Trio: Chips were terribly stale, artichoke dip looked old, old, old and tasted old too. Quesadilla lacked flavor. The wings were just okay. French pot roast- Over sauces so you can't taste anything else. Half Chicken- was so old and zero flavor. I was surprised they were not embarrassed to serve us that meal. The soda was completely FLAT. We tipped the server his 20%, not his fault the food was horrid. We will never return. They might be great at just breakfast, I don't know. We took the French pot roast home, rinsed off the sauce and fed it to our dog.

Oh my, the French toast is a huge portion and beautifully presented with a side of whipped cream and strawberry compote on top. It's not as sweet as it looks (perfect for my taste) and the toast had crispy edges. Sausage was good but needed to be cooked just a bit longer, so you get that snap when you bite it. Scrambled eggs were good too. My husband got the chorizo burrito with tater tots on the side. He liked the burrito but said it did have little kick to it. The tots were fried to perfection and not oily. My brother ordered the "Dad's Mash Up," all kinds of stuff (breakfast meats and cheese) served on top of tots and covered in gravy. It was a pile of food, no complaints from my bro. Service was great and welcoming as soon as we walked in. No wait on a Wednesday morning, but I imagine there is on the weekends. I let our server know it was my brother's birthday, and after we were finishing up our meals, they brought him a complimentary small plate of the strawberry French toast! That was a fantastic way to end his celebratory breakfast. My only complaint, which is more of a suggestion, is to have flavored cream available besides half and half. The coffee is strong and delicious and our cups were never empty. Thank you, Jamie and staff, for a wonderful and yummy first visit. We'll be back!

Wait Time: 15 minutes (Sunday brunch)…read more Parking: Free with plenty of spaces in the shopping complex. Restroom: Bright and clean. Ambience: The space feels somewhat unfinished. Much of the interior consists of plain, single-color walls without much décor, giving it a blank and somewhat incomplete feel. Service: Friendly but slow and somewhat disorganized. * At check-in, the host added my name (Lin) to the waitlist and said I would receive a text when my table was ready. However, the notification arrived under a different name (Nancy), so I had to double-check whether the table was actually for us. * Our server was pleasant, but service felt scattered. She stopped by to check on us, but before we could respond, she walked over to another table and continued a conversation there. When she returned, she said she would bring water, even though we were already ready to order. It took a while for the water to arrive. * Later, we requested a water refill, which she acknowledged, but it appeared to be forgotten. The refill only came when we were getting ready to leave, at which point she apologized. Although it was a Sunday brunch service, the restaurant did not seem busy enough to fully explain the level of disorganization. Food: Breakfast is available all day. I recommend the Eggs Benedict (weekends only), which comes in several varieties: A. Bacon, spinach, and tomato Benedict B. Traditional ham Benedict C. Cali Benedict with avocado, tomatoes, and arugula D. Smoked Salmon Benedict The Club Sandwich also comes with a generous portion size. A nice convenience is that the restaurant allows split bills, and guests can pay individually through the Toast app.

Came in with my family (party of 4) on a Sunday morning around 11am expecting it to be busy, which it was. We were told it was a 15 minute wait - no problem. After getting seated, by the hostess, it took 5 minutes for a server to come by touch our table, no waters, no name or introduction, just a simple "I'll be right with you guys." We were seated in the outside patio, no music, just quiet enough to hear every tables conversation. After taking our order, we asked for waters, which was dropped off to us almost 20 minutes later. After waiting almost 40 minutes, I got up and went inside to check the status of our order. I was told they were working on it and should be out in 5 mins. Food never came out after waiting almost an hour after being seated, so we decided to leave. We will not be returning to this restaurant and neither should you. To make matters worse, the couple next to us also got up and left when we did due to the horrible customer service. Ran into the couple outside who told us that they left because they were too hungry to continue waiting and that the service was SLOW! Again, do yourself and your family a favor and DO NOT waste your time here! I would give 0 stars if I could.

It's a great deal and made it easy to justify trying one of their signature comfort-food plates. Here's what I got: 4pc Broaster Chicken The Broaster chicken dinner was the standout and easily my favorite part of the dinner. The four-piece meal is regularly priced at $19.99 and comes with a choice of side, plus garlic toast or cornbread, along with a salad. The chicken arrived golden, crispy, and exactly how broasted chicken should be--moist inside with a crunchy exterior that tasted fresh, not greasy. I chose the mashed potatoes as my side and they were creamy with chunks of potato whipped within. They were topped with country gravy, turning these spuds into full-on comfort food. The cornbread was a large, satisfying portion; the whipped butter and honey on top rounded it out nicely and made it feel like a classic diner treat. Vegetable and Salad The vegetable side was the one miss on the plate. The zucchini, broccoli, squash and carrots seemed to be steamed and were noticeably overcooked and sitting in water, which made them soggy. The side salad, on the other hand, was solid. I opted for blue cheese dressing, which tasted like it was made in-house and added a lot of flavor. There were a few pieces of lettuce with brown edges that I just removed, but overall the salad was fresh enough and a nice way to start the meal. Service was friendly from the moment we walked in. We were greeted right away, offered a choice of a booth or table, and seated quickly, even though it was senior night and the discount window can draw a crowd. The interior looks and feels like a classic diner: red accents, country-style decor on the walls, a TV with the news playing, and a front counter where you pay as you leave. Near the entrance there's a pie case showing off their desserts--in particular, an apple pie that looked very tempting and is on my list to try next time. Overall, Original Mike's Diner delivers satisfying diner food, warm service, and a straightforward, old-school atmosphere, with the Broaster chicken and sides carrying the experience. The overcooked veggies keep it from being a perfect visit, but the generous senior discount and friendly staff make this an easy 4-star spot I'm happy to return to--especially on Thursday nights. Simply Wonderful!!
