Compared to the business that the medical center offers, the environment at this Starbucks location is quite relaxing. You need relaxing before or after, even during an appointment. I came here before my appointment. I got a coffee and I got to relax a bit. The seating arrangement at this location has changed. There are couches and just two tables. But it does have a relaxing vibe. I came back after my appointment, I still had coffee in my cup, I redeemed one of my rewards and got a pastry and sat to scroll through my phone. Employees were friendly. You will need a code for the restroom. There was a table where people were working or studying. We will stop at this location if we're ever at Kaiser. This relatively small Starbucks is on Sunset immediately next to one of the main Kaiser Permanente buildings. So, it should be no surprise for you to find lines of people in scrubs when you enter the door. This Starbucks is definitely geared for people on the go. Aimed primarily toward medical professionals and patients, the place closes at a rather early 8pm on weekdays and 6pm on weekends. While there is a small seating area up a step or two, I rarely see more than a couple people in there at any given time. This is not the hangout Starbucks like the one on Vermont and Prospect. The service is pretty good. I usually order in advance through the app and grab my drink when I get there. Occasionally, I will have to wait for 5 or 10 minutes, but that's usually when someone has gone for an office run and is carrying six different beverages. Starbucks coffee is...Starbucks coffee. Is it wonderful? No. Is it awful? No. It's Starbucks: it's just everywhere. Staff named ANDREA with glasses, has a horrible customer service. If you're unhappy with where you work or because you are working on new years find something better to do for yourself. Just asked her if she was able to add a topping on top of my drink and she gave horrible attitude and didn't even answer back as if she had to really go out of her way for that. This is your average Starbucks location - it's not super spectacular and and it's not terrible. I have been here a few times before. The employees are always friendly. They've gotten my order right every time but once. I usually grab and go but this most recent time I stayed for a while to get some work done. Since it's fall drink season, I tried the apple crisp oatmilk shaken espresso. It was just ok to me (I didn't customize my drink with anything else) but you can definitely taste the apple. It sucks that there were no outlets so I had to leave once my laptop died. It was also disappointing that both of the bathrooms were out of service. read more

I came here around 6:27 pm. I ordered large size of Matcha Frappuccino with cream. The lady ( I forgot asking her name) was extremely racist. After receiving my drink, I was asking her a sleeve but got no response from here so I'm not sure that she heard me. I repeated one more time, she still hasn't said anything. Her face and attitude were bad. Clearly she was ignoring me. It's sad because she treated 2 white ladies in front of me totally different a couple minutes ago. Had an appointment across the street and decided to pop in for some caffeine before the drive back to work. There's probably a few Starbucks locations and def numerous food options in the area. Was greeted by the most enthusiastic employee who took my order and suggested a new bakery item (red velvet loaf cake). Store layout is kinda unique where there's a seating area on one side and then the ordering area on the other. They def get a lot of medical workers here being that it's in an area with numerous hospitals and med centers. Baristas were also very efficient and outgoing. He knows all the lingo, the tricks, and flavors. He's recommended drinks I liked. He's consistent. He works with a sense of urgency which gives me comfort because I'm always in a hurry. This Starbucks location is central to major hospital along Sunset blvd. So expect to get crazy and crowded during peak hours. Atmosphere was chill and cool. They have nice orange leather seats with coffee tables on the back section and few small wooden tables and chairs. Staff (Jamez) was friendly, competent and professional. He deserve a pay raise. Fast service. Good music playlist that range from 90's poprock to 2000's. Prices were fair just the rest of the Starbucks in the entire country. Street parking and lot available. Whatever happened in the past is the past. Today I came in at 1:30 pm and had THE BEST customer service. Staff was friendly and professional. Quick service. I got a breakfast sandwich & cappuccino. Andrea helped me and she was so nice. Frankly, I have been here numerous times while getting treatment at Kaiser and nothing but exceptional service here. This is my first Starbucks review because I believe they deserve it. Honestly, customers could be more understanding and patient at peak hours and in general. Anyone remember working an entry level job? Also, we could have a little more appreciation for the baristas struggle. They are all working to get fair wages and benefits just like the rest us. How Starbucks became so popular worldwide I will never know. The coffee is awful--always bitter, requiring dilution with water or cream. That said, the atmosphere of this particular coffee house itself is just ok and the A/C is way too cold (energy conservation people!). The first time I went, it was clear they had no idea how much everyone wanted their Starbucks! I'm afraid to get the dark chocolate covered graham crackers, only because the display case one clearly looks old. My barista got my coffee order correct, but they couldn't figure out which granola bar I wanted. She also forgot my bagel bite order altogether, but I decided just to let that go and eat something that's already at my desk. So to try to make it easier, I used the app to order, and it was even worse! They put in the wrong sparkling water, AND the wrong granola bar. Having brought out the wrong granola bar twice, I finally said, it's OK, I'll just take what you got me. As a concession, she got me an extra chocolate peanut butter bar, still not what I was looking for, but it was per gratis, and so I appreciated the gesture. Every time I walk into this Starbucks the employees go above and beyond to not only make sure their customers are getting the best quality of food and drink, but also that they are treated well. Even if I'm getting a mobile pickup order, I'm at the very least greeted by a couple employees. I think this kindness goes even farther since this Starbucks is located in a hospital. I can only imagine what some of the patrons of both the hospital and Starbucks, whether they are medical professionals or patients, go through, especially during Covid times. I stood at the counter, the batista had made my coffee, made eye contact with me then set my coffee down grabbed a much smaller cup and placed it with a pre order which still had yet to arrive, then grabbed my coffee called my name and handed me my coffee without looking at me because she was focused on an order that hadn't arrived. They are out of a lot of stuff and seem annoyed to have to serve anything. If you order more than one item you get attitude from the cashier. I don't know if it's because they are low on supplies or because they have a hard time hearing you with the masks and glass window between you but dang I felt like I was asking them a huge favor when ordering. I ordered a vanilla latte and got a regular latte. I told the barista I ordered a vanilla latte and was told they can add it but they have to charge me extra. Well that's what I ordered so sure I'll get back in line and pay... the line was like 10 people deep so they sighed and said nvm don't worry about it.
