I've been coming to this location for several years, and my experience has not been reflected in the negative reviews listed here. The staff is consistently friendly and professional, despite the many times I've seen customers exhibit rude, impatient, or downright potentially dangerous behavior. I've worked in retail, and I know how challenging it can be to do this on a regular basis. Occasionally they are short-staffed and the wait is a bit longer than normal, but guaranteed that it's not the fault of the folks working here. They bust their butts and do their best to get items out as fast as they can. It's not a sparkly new location, but it's always clean and tidy. read more

Oh my goodness, where to begin?! Whenever i travel, i make it tradition to visit at least one new Starbucks, and im pleased to say that this one did not disappoint! I would even go so far as to say this Starbucks experience made my entire Portland trip, but i won't. If you know me, you know I LOVE coffee. As Fran Drescher once put it, "Once you wake up and smell the coffee, it's hard to go back to sleep" and Fran was right! Now, I love a good cafe americano, but since this was a special trip i decided to get something extra special. But since i had only ever ordered cafe americanos, i didn't know what to get! Boy was i in a pickle. Luckily, a nice barista came to my rescue when they saw me standing in line looking perplexed. I explained my situation, and the lovely barista asked for my usual coffee order and gave me recommendations based on that. (very clever, barista!) They offered a wide varieties of coffees, and even sold me on the cinnamon dolce latte until i saw steamed milk on the menu. I had never had that! The girls in here (never seen one guy work there), with the exception of one girl who sometimes (has to) works with them, are the worst of the worst in customer service. I'm a coffee snob and can't believe I'm writing a review about a Starbucks, but I'm so impressed that I feel compelled to set the record straight from misleading reviews from people like 'James'. First of all, let's call out the elephant, it's a Starbucks, therefore the coffee is of Starbucks quality and consistency. There are standard menus, recipes, and machines that the baristas push buttons for, so the actual skill applied to make a good drink is minimal. Starbucks has all but eradicated the possibility of human error in their product quality and yet the differentiating factor for any location now is in its team. This team is amazing and you can see that they work extremely well together and enjoy what they do. They push a significant level of volume out of this location; the to-go orders are excessive, all the while managing knuckleheads that don't know how to order a Starbucks size properly (me). Their movements are coordinated and they orchestrate their tasks beautifully with kind, attentive, and enthusiastic service. This team deserves the kudos and this is a good location. Now for the fun part. James here, the critic du jour, also claimed 8 months ago that there was another Starbucks on the precipice of its demise. Like a stockbroker, James' record isn't so great. I'd also like to make mention that one of his previous reviews' of his McDonalds service was quite critical and was disappointed in not getting his free refill. Sadly, another one star review posted on a place that likely didn't deserve it. Better luck next time, James. I do hope we cross paths at this wonderful establishment soon. read more

Came here on a weekday afternoon for a cup of coffee and to work. I thought it was a pretty typical Starbucks. Lots of parking, clean building, friendly staff, and good coffee. I wish there were more small tables to work at - I think I only saw 3, all of which were taken. But other than that, it was a good experience and I would come back again. read more

Careless almost all new workers make for easy spills & sloppy finishes. Two of our 6 drinks had liquid on top that spilled all over in the car & the lids weren't secured on properly. I was given a latte that felt very light! I asked the barista to just add more soy! She took the cup and must have dumped out some of the latte and added more soy! So, now I have a VERY weak latte!!! Stopped by for a latte this morning after an appointment, and staff was very friendly, good amount of seating (but is was busy, so I had to park it on a bar stool), and my latte was just right. Only downside is the parking (like most Starbucks), but my timing was perfect and I was able to nab a spot just as someone was pulling out. read more

This Starbucks used to be one of the most maddening one to visit in the area. It's located on Barbur and SW Capitol Highway and near an I-5 exit. But they used to have a tiny parking lot. Sometimes it would be just impossible to find parking and you'd just drive off in frustration or you would illegally park at the nearby McDonalds and cross a fairly busy access street to get there. The corporation must have bought out an adjacent gas station and expanded the parking lot. Parking availability is so much better. Inside, well, just your standard Starbucks. read more

Limited parking on a very busy street corner (5-point intersection) make getting in and out a bit difficult. Add to that no D.T. and you had better not arrive at prime time. Service and offerings are standard - hence the three stars. There are other locations that are easier in-outs if you have to have your coffee at 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM. read more

I've been to SBUX in several countries, and frequented several whilst working remotely. Still, there's no place like this one to make you feel at home. Miss the original crew from '03, but they all still make my morning brew feel like more than "just another buck". Long lines dwindle quickly, but the parking is it's only issue. read more

Ordered a bagel and cream cheese "for here" (not "to go"). Impatient employee hands me a wrapped bagel and container of cream cheese. No knife and no plate. She quickly moves on to something else, so I flag her down and ask for a plate and a knife. Clearly annoyed, she hands me a plate and a large, sharp knife that looks like a butcher knife! What?! A great big Thank You for donating coffee for the Metzger Park annual easter egg hunt. I arrived early for pickup and it was all ready to go with cups, cream, sugars and stirrers. The volunteers and parents greatly appreciated it with the Sesame Donuts that were donated as well. The manager was so cheerful and said they were delighted to contribute to community events.
