I really love that you can find spots in the East Bay that have an emphasis on fun and multi-functional for guests that may not be able to make it out on the late night (newer mamas, I see you!) And if you take anything from this review..the hamachi tostada is worth driving for. Chef's kiss. No notes. Served with chili oil/crunch, avo, umami mayo, and a simply beautiful presentation, this dish can't be missed. I'm still thinking about how each bite was packed with so much flavor and crunch. A few other things to note..the ambiance and stellar vibe. I adore the vibrant colors and pop of pinks throughout the restaurant interior/exterior. I can't wait to already come back for an evening event (cue the babysitter!). The interior is spacious, and the outdoor space is just waiting for fun. The bar is beautiful and the cocktails look divine. I went with a zero proof Sour Candy mocktail for this go-around, and that was the perfect sip decision. As for mains, our party did lunch bowls ~ lamb and beef. So tender, innovative, and love the blend of Middle Eastern and Japanese influences..what a delight. The cuisine is interesting fusion of Mediterranean and Japanese. The restaurant has a beautiful, upscale ambiance, and we were seated immediately, which was a huge plus for a Sunday lunch. The Food (A definite 5/5!) The kitchen here is truly doing amazing work. * Appetizer: Stereo Mezze Platter - Fantastic! This came with two baskets of pita and three main dips, plus a great combination of pickled and fresh veggies/olives. We were all hungry, and this dish delivered. Highly recommend starting here! * Mains: We ordered the Lamb Kofta Bowl and the Slow Cooked Beef. Both were served over amazing rice with Japanese cucumber and fresh leaves. * The Lamb Kofta was incredibly tasty and sumptuous. * The Slow Cooked Beef was very tender and flavorful. Areas for Improvement (Service & Menu) While the food was perfect, I do feel they could elevate the customer experience with a few tweaks: 1. Customer Service: The staff was unfortunately not very friendly. A slightly warmer welcome and friendlier service would significantly improve the overall dining experience. 2. Menu Variety: We would definitely recommend this place for adults. However, they might need to add a few more dishes to their menu to better cater to families with kiddos. Velvet walls, graffiti-style art, moody lighting, it's giving hip, modern, and effortlessly cool without trying too hard. And then the DJ starts playing the perfect soundtrack... like okayyy, ambiance, I see you. 10/10 on the energy. Drinks: Amazing. Like the type of drinks that make you forget you swore you were "only having one tonight." Balanced, flavorful, dangerously smooth. Starters: Hamachi tostada, Listen LINDA. LISTEN. This hamachi melted in my mouth so beautifully I almost shed a tear. Buttery, bright, perfect. Halloumi cheese, Delicious. I'm a grilled halloumi girl and they delivered. Potatoes, Crispy, flavorful, addictive. I would like a bucket for takeout, thanks. Mains: Short Rib, I don't eat meat (pescatarian life), but everyone else at the table went SILENT when this came out. Fall-apart tender on top of Middle Eastern bread that soaks up all the juices... it smelled incredible even from my pescatarian bubble. Whole Chicken, looked Perfectly seasoned, juicy, crispy and honestly looked like something you'd see on a cooking show finale. Every main comes with a full platter of sides: Middle Eastern bread, hummus, spreads, olives, dips, and OMG the mashed chickpea soufflé dish?? What was that? Why was it so good? Why am I still thinking about it? I'd eat a whole bowl as a standalone entrée. Dessert: The matcha tres leches deserves its own paragraph, its own award, maybe its own zip code. I didn't want to share. I'm STILL not over it. This is the dessert that ruins other desserts for you. I thought it may be a lil slower (which it was according to the staff) but I thought it was a good amount of guest for a Monday night. It was 5 of us and our waitress recommended us to get 2 apps, 1 lammet sofra, and 1 kushiyaki to share. Which I really appreciated because I didn't feel like she was trying to ring our bill up. We ordered the marinated mussels, the hamachi tostada, the mezze platter, togarashi chicken, and the slow cooked barramundi. I recently gave up liquor so I ordered a sour candy mocktail ... OMG- so good!! It was refreshing and had the right balance of sweetness and sourness. I My girl ordered the Dubai Alexander and she said it's one of the best cocktail she's ever had (I was so tempted to try for real) So the minus star is due to our mezze platter that never came out. The mussels and tostada came out quick, but our main took a while to come out. So we were waiting for a while in between the app and main. I am sure because it's a new restaurant so they are still ironing out the kinks. I wish I could give half stars, so I can give them a 4.5, is because everything we ordered was DELISH. I highly recommend the tosatada, so much flavor and so fresh. I also recommended the chicken. It is a great portion to share and it was also very tender and juicy. It was quite pricey but worth it because the chicken was huge (like it was on steroids) and it came with sides. We dined in, table for a party five. Had the opportunity to meet the one of the owners, Berkeley. He was also spinning that night. We came for drinks and dessert and they did a great job. It's got a feeling of a night club but full service kitchen. I was pleasantly surprised. We were able to drink, and have some bites, and as an older crowd, I liked that we were able to hear each other in conversation at the table so acoustics were solid. The menu looked very delicious but we had arrived already having had dinner. The other patrons were lovely, tried to get us on the dance floor. Dinner was delicious! The service was wonderful. I can't praise Tara enough for the wonderful conversation and food recommendations! My table ordered everything she recommended, and I was pleasantly surprised with the unique flavors and textures of the various dishes. The Halloumi Cheese looked like tofu and had a similar texture but when you bite into it with the fig, honey, and sesame, you are greeted with a nice salty and sweet flavor combination. I also enjoyed the Hamachi Tostada. While it was another great dish, just beware there is a slow burn to this one. The chili will sneak up on you! If you choose to get the Hamachi Tostada, I recommend you order the Limonada mocktail. The creaminess of the drink will help put out the burn. The braised beef paired perfectly with the turmeric rice. The crunch of the pistachios was a nice touch to the rice. I expected the radicchio salad to be bitter but the berry vinaigrette and burrata helped balance the flavors so it was not bitter at all. If it's an option on the menu for the night, try the Miso Almond Ice Cream. It was an unexpected but flavorful dessert. The ambiance felt like a contemporary and trendy lounge. Although there wasn't a DJ present (he/she apparently comes around 9:00 pm), the music wasn't too loud. I could hear the conversation at my table. Really wanted to love this place, but left without eating. We were so excited to try this spot, but unfortunately, the service was completely missing in action. After being shown to our table, we sat for a full 20 minutes without a single server stopping by to greet us, take a drink order, or check in. It wasn't even overwhelmingly packed, so it was pretty disappointing watching staff walk past our table multiple times without acknowledging us. The only bright spot was the busser, who was kind enough to bring us water when he noticed we'd been waiting for a while. We really appreciated his attentiveness, but after 20 minutes of waiting, we realized we weren't going to get served and decided to just leave and eat somewhere else. I know restaurants have off nights, but sitting ignored for that long just ruined the experience. Hope they can sort out their table communication, because the space itself seems great. read more

We came here for New Year's Eve, $50 per person which included a DJ and one glass of champagne. So glad we made a reservation because there were definitely walk-ins waiting. We arrived around 10:30PM and assumed they'd bring the champagne closer to midnight, so we ordered cocktails in the meantime. But then I noticed other tables already being poured champagne, and even getting refills. When we asked, our server said we could have ours whenever we wanted. By that point we already had drinks and didn't want the champagne sitting there going flat. There was just a lot of inconsistency with how the champagne service was handled that night. That said, once we did get ours and finished it, we were offered refills and some of us ended up having 2-3 glasses, which was nice and kind of made up for the earlier confusion. The music wasn't totally my style for most of the night, but there were definitely a few good songs mixed in. Service was a little spotty. It was hard to get water refills, and we eventually had to go up to the bar ourselves to ask for water. Shoutout to Dewy, the main bartender, he was super cool and came around to our table offering more champagne and even did a fun "pour straight from the bottle" moment, which added to the NYE vibe. I would come back just for Dewy! but sit at the bar! The billing situation at the end was a bit awkward. My sister had prepaid for two people, and we added two more a few days before and were told she could just pay for them at the restaurant. When the bill came, my husband paid it. But a couple days later, my sister noticed she had also been charged for the two additional guests. Thankfully we had a photo of hubby's receipt, and she was able to get the refund sorted out. Overall, it was a fun night with some hiccups, but the extra champagne and good energy helped end the year on a high note read more

Our dinner reservations on Friday night for a party of 7, went down hill fast as soon as we arrived. This restaurant lounge does not have a table set up for large parties because we were all seated at a coffee table near the entrance to enjoy dinner & drinks. After an awkward interaction with many servers where we asked for a regular table that matched the height of all other tables in the dining area, we reluctantly stayed seated at the low coffee table on chouches resembling living room furniture. We were told by the GM that this was the only available seating for 7 people. Hunched over the coffee table, my back began to ache as we were served barely warmed broccoli & cauliflower 40 minutes into our reservation. The music was the only great thing about this place and the drinks, once finally served, were very well made. The Paloma and Jalapeño Margarita were the winners of the evening. I would not recommend this spot to enjoy dinner. Hopefully your experience is better than ours, maybe try grabbing a drink at the bar. Cheers! read more

They seemed to be setting up an area with a DJ at the time, which I'm sure would translate really well into the night once more people start coming! The interior feels chic and the Japanese-Middle Eastern fusion menu is really unique! We ordered the Mezze platter and drinks; the flavors of the dips were different from what I've ever tried before, and the drinks were well made! I do wish the drinks were presented with some sort of garnish to make them stand out more; and the pricing - even considering it was a happy hour menu with smaller portions - was quite steep in my opinion. My boyfriend and I were looking for a late night spot for eats and drinks and stumble upon this place. The two hostesses at the front informed us that they were all booked up, however they may or may not have had seating at the bar. My boyfriend asked if they were still serving food and they said they were fully booked. They ignored him and he asked if he could check if h there was seating anyways. We walked in and the ambiance was vibing, not fully booked at the time--but we found some seats at the bar. Once seated, the bartender whom I unfortunately didn't get his name was really friendly and asked if we were dining in or just having drinks. After this point, Frankie came over and offered us menus. Due to my allergies, he was able to navigate the menu of gluten free options (which were many!!!). We started off with the cornbread and apple butter, followed by the berry and beet salad, and ending with the Fried chicken. We did not realize that this restaurant turned into a bar afterwards and they bagged up our leftovers while we enjoyed the rest of our night. The female DJ was amazing. Stereo 41 offers generous lunch portions and flavors that will not disappoint. We shared the chicken wrap, lamb neck salad, and braised beef salad, all excellent. The meat was tender, and each dish had a nice balance of grains and greens. The real surprise was the beet appetizer. We expected a basic chopped salad, but got beautifully thin-sliced beets topped with bold, flavorful garnishes. It's a must try for beet lovers. Had a chance to try a few different dishes here. The hamachi tostada stood out in a great way. The presentation is very nice. It tastes like a melting pot of different flavors and textures that work together very well. I would definitely recommend trying this. The chicken wrap comes in a huge portion and is delicious. It's served with cucumber and a small salad along with an harissa chili sauce. The sour candy non-alcoholic cocktail is delicious but a little pricey at $13 for a mocktail. The baklava was very tasty although the pistachio layer was a bit hard (maybe from being chilled?) they also serve Buddha Beer for $6 and you can add a well shot for another $6 which is a great deal. The space is large with both in door and outdoor seating options. It seems like they may have some brunch and possibly day party vibes on the weekend if that's your thing or not. We ordered the individual portions of the braised lamb neck, slow cooked beef, lamb merguez, stereo mezze platter, and almond cake desert. The food is solid and very tasty to make it a well rounded experience, however it doesn't hit the "blow you away" mark. The miso hummus, fromage blanc spread in the platter have great flavor and are memorable. The overall taste to me, is higher standard. Service was standard, no reason to take away any stars, but could've been slightly more attentive on beverage refills. Nice staff and personality though. Where it gets its point reduction to me is the value. I understand it's in downtown Walnut Creek with an elevated upscale vibe driving the cost, but for $70-90 per person, I wanted a more memorable bite to my meal. For those, where budget isn't a factor, you'll have a great experience here. For those looking for the best food to pair the price tag, I think those will be slightly disappointed. While they were friendly, our service had some lows. About 20% of our Dubai cocktail was spilled on the table on delivery and not well wiped up (or offered to be re-made), when our dishes came the dips weren't described to us (as the other table received), and while picking up our plates there was another spill which splashed across the table and almost hit me. Not what you want to see at $100 a person. Food wise we again had some lows but definitely far more highs. The skewers didn't really work as the trout felt like an odd fish choice and the kofta was over seasoned, however the honey flat out adored the tostada and the beef main dish was divine. Absolute perfection. The beef was cooked perfectly and went so well with the three sides (pistachio rice, chickpea, and veggies) that it absolutely made up for the hiccups above. I also do have to note that their sound system is perfection. They put a lot of work into acoustics and it absolutely shows. All in all, I think the menu could use some re-tooling and the service issues will likely iron out with time, but for an opening night the food was amazing and I'd recommend stopping in to try them out. read more

Okay, Walnut Creek, you have to check out Stereo 41! It's a super fun new spot with Middle Eastern flavors and a Japanese twist! Think bold spices, fresh ingredients, and a perfect balance of comfort and creativity. The vibes are modern, lively but cozy, the cocktails are gorgeous, and it's definitely the new go-to for date nights or catching up with friends. I enjoy that they have a DJ playing which for sure adds more to your dining experience. I also heard Stereo 41 sometimes turns into a nightclub but I could be wrong lol They do have a disco ball and a space that is perfect for a dance floor once tables are moved. This restaurant was nice but the service took long from drinks to food. We came on a Saturday evening. When we arrived it had not filled yet but by the time it filled was when our food was sent. The food was good but I've had better. For Mediterranean at a restaurant like this I expected much more of a high value experience and quality. I'm a regular at Silk Road. For the cost, I would have just went there but wanted to try more. We sat for 30 minutes before our drinks came and another 20 before our food arrived. It took a bit. read more
