    Beet salad was bomb!
    Susan N.

Meh...this place was hit and miss. Hit: fried chicken, pork chop, hamachi tostada, even though it was overpriced and beet salad! Miss: everything else... Prices are really high for some dinky portions that you would be done eating in literally 2 1/2 bites. Fried chicken was outstanding, nice and hot. Pork chop was juicy with a delicious sauce, hibachi tostadas were yummy, but just a bit overpriced, and the beet salad was top-notch! Creamy and fresh. Potato salad was hard and tasted like it was from Costco, mac & cheese was watery. Collard greens were meh. Corn bread was just a rip off. Don't think I'd come again.

Hokkaido scallops, marinated olives and potato tempura in the back

What. A. Vibe. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by walls of records, an open kitchen, plush velvet furniture, and, of course, a disco ball. I've been here twice now, once for happy hour and once for dinner. I wasn't a fan of happy hour only being available on the patio. Since it was summer, I think most people would've preferred the AC over 90-degree heat. My dinner experience, however, was much better. My friend and I were seated inside and ordered the cucumber salad, sweet potato tempura, and Hokkaido scallops. For drinks, we had the Strawberry Paloma and the Calypso, which came with a fiery shot of rum served inside a lime. Our server, Priscilla, started us off with complimentary marinated olives. The staff was attentive and helpful throughout the meal. The cucumber salad was savory and refreshing. The sweet potato tempura had an incredibly crispy exterior with a slightly candied crunch. It was delicious. The Hokkaido scallops, served on a tostada with a savory sauce underneath, were another standout. To my surprise, the restaurant transforms into more of a club after 9 p.m. We wrapped up our 7 p.m. reservation around 10, just as the DJ started and the party crowd rolled in. I'd definitely come back for dinner, or stop by later in the evening for drinks and dancing with friends.

Quite honestly the best service, vibes and food in a long time. Zajack was super fun and gave great drink and food recommendations. Food was 10/10. The place was beautiful. My new favorite restaurant. Can't wait to return.

Ambiance: First time at Stereo61 -- initial thoughts were the vibes are super cute for a girls night! But also cute for a date, but it does get really loud as it slowly turns into a club / bar after dinner. Food and their respective rating: 5/5 Hamachi Tostada: amazing, i may dream about it because of how delicious it was. Loved the fresh ingredients and how the tostada kept its structure each bite. 3/5 Grilled Filet Skewers: good, but, would I get it again? Maybe not unless I were to share it with someone.. It was pretty heavy for me. 4/5 Tiramisu: very good, but also again I was full. But i loved the texture and the fact that it didn't taste like your average tiramisu. The nuts brought great texture, there was definitely hints of liquor in there as well. I would order again & share with a friend Service: Lastly our waitress was great! She was very friendly as she tended to us and all the other tables seated outside. Overall: I would come back here again, will bring the girliepops next time!

I love Stereo41. It is a great place for dinner, drinks and lounging around. The food is unique and the music after 9pm rotates nightly. I have been here twice now and the crowd is always classy and dj plays excellent music that keeps it fun and lively. We have tried almost everything on the menu at dinner and they are all so delicious! My favorites are the hamachi, lamb chop, risotto, beef skewers and hummus. Next I have to try the dessert and lunch!

I first discovered this place at a Yelp event and loved everything I tried, so I knew I had to come back for dinner. This time we ordered the scallops, lamb chops, pita bread, fish taco appetizer, and everything was absolutely delicious. The scallops were my parents favorite dish of the night, but honestly, every item we ordered was fantastic. Great food, great flavors, and a place we'll definitely be returning to.

the Stereo41 in Walnut Creek could best be described as an elite restaurant that offers a refreshing, beautiful menu that promises to deliver good flavors we ordered oysters, chicken wrap and dessert. all these dishes were beautiful, delicious and delivered. the inside ambiance is fine, the staff are welcoming and you get a true experience of Walnut Creek

The food here genuinely impressed me, the sweet potato tempura, meatballs, and pita bread are all worth coming back for, and the overall menu has a lot going for it. The ambiance is also a vibe; it's the kind of place you want to love. That said, service is one of the things I weigh heavily when trying somewhere new, and unfortunately it was the low point of the night. Our server had us waiting 20-30 minutes both to get our order taken and to receive the check, and it was hard not to notice she was mostly engaged in other convos or not tending to us at all. We made a few attempts to flag her down and felt invisible which made me a bit frustrated On the drinks - the Calypso were enjoyable but leaned on the lighter side/juice heavy The food and atmosphere are there but the service needs to improve . I'd consider returning but I'd hope for a more attentive experience next time.

From the moment I walked in I knew I was in for a treat. The exterior looks gorgeous and the interior was just beautiful. We were seated immediately and had the friendliest and informative server, I believe her name is Ashley. She went over the lunch options and made a fantastic recommendation. We ordered a hamachi tostada, chicken wrap, halloumi skewers, along with Sour Candy and a red spritz. Everything was super flavor. The drinks were refreshing, the skewers were a nice balance of sweet and salty, the tostada was an explosion of flavor with the creaminess from the avocado, the spice, the citrus, and the hamachi was so fresh. The chicken wrap was incredible and I was not expecting the size to be a foot long! Overall, I'll definitely be coming back.

Service is quick at lunch time, Yooha made an amazing drink and recommended it if you like Gibsons. The stereo martini#2 is briny and yet fresh. Def want to come back and taste a few more cocktails Lunch menu has a 'Build your Own' feature, as a bowl, salad or wrap with either chicken, trout, lamb, beef, or a veggie option (halloumi and fig)

I made a lunch reservation. I walked in to be seated, no one was there when I arrived. I waited about 5 -8 minutes, meanwhile took a few pictures. I started with the sour candy mocktail, $13. The drink was good, just like sour candy, light on tamarind flavor but it had over 50% of ice. I believe it watered down the flavor. Then I got one hamachi tostada, it was delish. The chili oil stood out. It gets messy eating it, but very good flavors. Slightly like a ceviche tostada. The price of $28 I felt was high for a small appetizer. The chicken wrap was delish and packed with meat. I liked the olives in it. It came with a cucumber salad which paired excellent. The cucumber salad was full of flavor. I could taste the mint, cilantro and fennel. Very refreshing. It also came with a side salad. I felt the side salad had too much dressing for my liking. The Moroccan paste/sauce it came with was super delish, flavorful tomato paste/herb with a kick. The wrap was def worth its value of $17, it was a nice size and heavy on meat. I ordered a tiramisu dessert $14, it was very cute, the bread was good tasting. He did mentioned it had banana... just didn't get that tiramisu feel or flavor it was a little more on the bland side for the cream. The bread inside of it was delish. I was pretty stuffed that I brought some home. There is a large dining area inside and can look out to downtown WC. Booth and table/chair seating. There's also a side outdoor seating with plenty of light. Theme is disco. They had music playing at excellent volume not too loud but not too low.

Sour Candy - be sure to give it a good swirl!

Dropped in for a Yelp Elite event and was very impressed. Background music was a nice lunch touch - not too loud so you couldn't talk yet you could hear the tunes. Host was fantastic, took the time to explain the event to me, accommodated my request for a window facing seat, and made sure I had a good experience. Server was fantastic and I appreciated her recommendation to be sure to squirm the lime on the tostada. Definitely coming back with the Mrs for happy hour! Sour Candy Mocktail.... first sip came across as grapefruit juice but second sip was full flavors of tamarind, passion fruit. Super delicious, mild puckering. I suspect the juice was in the straw when it was placed in the glass! Hamachi Tostada... fantastic flavors, just the right amount of spices, hamachibwas super fresh and tender, nice subtle sauce, great balanced. The crunch of the tostada was a nice touch. Chicken wrap.... big wrap full of chicken and loads of flavor. Tender meat, nice condiments, slightly toasted wrap was subtly crunchy.

We saw this place the last time we were in town hanging out and said the next time we come to town we would try it out, so here we are. The inside is really nice and the DJ playing music is great. Its not a club type atmosphere more like a lounge that has food and music which is nice. We came at happy hour so of course we tried drinks and food that was on the happy hour menu. We ordered the Little Red Corvette and the Silk Road. Both of the drinks were great. The little Red Corvette is one of those drinks that you could keep drinking so fast and then it hit you. The Silk Road had more of a sipper drink, manly because of the type of alcohol in it, you couldn't drink it fast like the little Red Corvette. For apps we ordered the Beef Karaz meatballs, the Halloumi cheese skewers, and the Mushroom Skewers. The apps came out pretty quick which was nice. The meatballs were tender, had a curry flavor to it, and the sauce that accompanied it was perfect sweet taste to it. The Cheese skewers were cooked perfect and tasty. The mushrooms skewers had some good flavor and also cooked perfect. The service was great as well. The employees were really nice and attentive. We will definitely be back to try some entrees.

Halva chocolate cake, baklava in the middle, and (incredible) tiramisu.

Blue neon arches, a huge underwater mural, plush chairs and low tables along the back wall. Worth the detour. Chris was working the bar on his second day and greeted us like a regular. I skipped my usual Manhattan and went with the Smoke Break, bourbon with bitters, smoke and black cherry. He nailed it. That is the one I would order again. Kudos to Chris for making the smoke linger and make the drink taste fantastic. I had this one in Oregon and it was cool but Chris did a better job with his method that really did serious justice to the name. My wife wanted the Cucumber Cooler, but they were out of cucumber. She pivoted to Sauvignon Blanc, and they were out of that too. The wine list runs four whites and four reds, so there is not much room to maneuver if the cocktails are not your thing. Chris read the situation, offered up a Paper Airplane since she wanted something refreshing, and put it on the house. Classic good bartending. It was louder than expected for how few people were in the room. On a Saturday with a DJ, music and dancing, I would guess the volume gets close to a rave. Go Tuesday or Wednesday if you want to hear the person across from you, and you will probably catch them fully stocked. My guess is weekends clean them out. Cocktails run 16 to 18 dollars. There is also a 300 dollar tequila and cognac number called La Maria served in a glass rimmed with gold dust, if you have something to celebrate. Happy hour is Tuesday through Friday, 3 to 5. They are on the ground floor of the Waymark apartments at 121 Pringle Ave with a small patio out front and heaters. Great spot to hang out and talk with friends, and a good pre dinner or post dinner stop rather than a destination for the whole night. When those doors shut you are transported somewhere neat. I would go again.

I'm so glad we ended up across the street. It's an open area restaurant with a very large wraparound bar and rooftop deck seating overlooking downtown. Despite it being windy and chilly, we didn't get cold at all. I regret not taking photos of the restaurant itself as the ambience was so unique. We ordered 3 appetizers and no mains. Fried calamari, heirloom tomatoes with burrata and roasted brussel sprouts. Calamari: batter was a bit darker than most I've had, but consistency and crispness the same. Don't know if they used extra paprika for the color. The calamari was tender and a good contrast to the batter. The real star was their tartar sauce which was so yummy we asked for more. Tomato salad: this dish was just about perfect. What you can't see well in the photo is the burrata sitting on a bed of pesto. The pesto is arugula-based, making it much milder and not so basil-forward, which we appreciated. Brussels sprouts: It's not the best we've had but I would still order it again, if nothing more than to get those insane bacon chunks that came with the vegetables. I had the spicy maracuya and hubby had the Irish goodbye as drinks. Both wonderfully done, but I especially liked the Irish goodbye which was their take on a manhattan - instead of bourbon they used whiskey, and threw in some green chartreuse along with the vermouth. We'll have to try to recreate this at home. Service was friendly, but the server didn't check up on us. They looked understaffed. All in all, we would be sure to go back, and drag some friends with us.

For a party of two, we ordered four drinks, two appetizers, and one salad, with the final tab coming to approximately $170. At that price point, I expect a noticeably stronger food experience, and unfortunately, this meal did not deliver. The service was a bright spot. The waitstaff was polite, professional, and attentive throughout the evening. Unfortunately, the food was where the experience fell short. The cauliflower and spicy tuna appetizers both had acceptable presentation, but the flavors and execution were disappointing. The ingredients did not seem particularly well balanced, and both dishes felt like they needed the chef to revisit the seasoning, composition, and overall preparation. Neither appetizer left an impression worth repeating. The Asian chicken salad had potential, but the quality and freshness of the ingredients kept it from standing out. A salad built around fresh, crisp ingredients should feel vibrant, yet this one came across as somewhat tired and lacking the freshness I would expect. Another point worth mentioning is the 20% gratuity that was automatically added to the bill. While I understand that some restaurants have automatic gratuity policies, it was unexpected for a party of two and felt somewhat excessive given the overall dining experience. I would have preferred that the policy be clearly communicated upfront. I typically include photos with my reviews, but the only photo I took on this visit was of the receipt, which probably says enough about how memorable the food was. Overall: The service was professional, but the food did not justify the approximately $170 price tag for two. There are plenty of restaurants where I would expect a more memorable and thoughtfully executed meal at this price point.
