Pretty good Korean restaurant! I'm from California where great Korean food is plentiful, and wanted to try the cuisine in the area. We came with a party of 10, and they were able to seat us all immediately which was nice. I ordered the kimchi tofu soup at spicy level 3, which was just the right amount of spice. Some people in my group ordered level 5 (the hottest), and they said it wasn't even too spicy at all. The side dishes that came with the soups were really good, and I especially enjoyed the kimchi and seaweed. The tofu soup arrived bubbling hot as usual, and was also served with a bowl of rice. There was plenty of kimchi and tofu inside, and the broth had a nice rich flavor to it. I loved how simple yet delicious it all was! My husband and I have picked up dinner from the Bothell location of Stone Korean Restaurant fairly frequently over the past year or so. Tonight, we really wanted a quick Korean dinner, but the Bothell restaurant is closed tonight. So, we drove a bit further since we really wanted that Korean food. The quality of the food is consistent between the two locations - very good, not amazing. Just what we wanted for tonight. They didn't have my favorite banchan from the Bothell location - a banchan that has peanuts in it - but I've never seen that banchan at any other Korean restaurant, so I didn't necessarily expect to see it, but I definitely noticed its absence. Service was good, very pleasant. We got a takeout order, as usual. I usually like trying out lots of menu choices at restaurants that I visit often. However, Stone Korean Restaurant's tofu bibimbap is their only dinner dish that is gluten free, so I get it every time. The portion size isn't very big, but it's quite filling. I love the blend of delicious flavors in this dish, and the hot sauce provided adds the perfect zing so that the meal isn't too bland, which it might be otherwise. My husband loves the Seafood Pancake. He gets that every time. It is not gluten free, nor is he, so he has the option to try anything on the menu. However, he likes the Seafood Pancake so much that he is not interested in trying anything else on the menu. I'm glad he found something that he likes so much. He can be very hard to please when it comes to, well, anything, but particularly restaurant food. I've eaten from Stone Korean quite a few times by now. They are amongst the Eastside Korean restaurants that serve fairly authentic Korean food. Thanks! This serving is plentiful; I can't imagine finishing it all. Jab chae is a very oily dish, so eating "off-the-top" is a healthier approach. I had 2/3 left, and the oils pooled at the bottom. I stored the leftovers on a paper plate in a new container to absorb all the oil. Day 2 reheat was still very good. Kalbi + Hotpot Bibimbap, $29 - 4.5 Stars Menu: Korean BBQ beef short ribs with Kalbi sauce + Beef, carrots, shiitake mushrooms, zucchini, bean-sprouts, spinach. Topped with yolk of an egg. Served with steamed rice This is a huge combo having two dishes. Even my huge appetite hubby didn't finish. Might as well, good for leftovers. So, between 3 dishes, we got 2 dinners for 2 adults. You could taste the pepperiness of the sauce - the gochujang flavor really came through and was strong and flavorful. The pork itself was tender and the overall texture of the dish was pleasing - went really well with rice both texture and flavor-wise! Soft Tofu Soup: Wow, this is a really soul warming dish! The soup stays warm for quite a while and you can really feel the warmth as you drink it - really is perfect on a cold day! The tofu is true to the description - really soft didn't have to chew at all and just melted in your mouth, as basically melding with soup to give additional textures. We decided to try this place when we saw a deal on Uber eats and thought it was ok. Ordering and picking up was very easy and quick so I have to give them props for that. The deal on Uber eats was basically half off all their appetizers (not really half off cause Uber eats prices is a little higher than in store but still worth it). We got the fried chicken (typically $13 for 8 wings). This was pretty standard wings, it was fresh, crispy, decent flavoring. Keep in mind these aren't their kfc wings - that is different. The seafood pancake ($17). This was also pretty standard, they did put a generous amount of seafood in the pancake and green onions as well. I think the food is pretty standard but the price is kinda high for what you get. In the great search of finding a decent Korean place near my house workplace, I received a recommendation to check out Stone from a coworker. I put in an order to have some soondubu (extra spicy seafood) and kalbi delivered to me via grub hub. The kalbi was delicious, marinated to perfection and charred to have a nice smoky flavor. The soondubu was also super delicious, chock full of soft tofu, seafood, but not spicy! The banchan consisted of pickled cucumber, bean sprouts, and kimchi - the kimchi was the one thing that wasn't so great. Overall price was a little costly (to be expected around the area). We tried the kalbi, ddukbokki, ssamjang, japchae, and half and half fried chicken. I would recommend the japchae and kalbi as my tops. The kalbi was so tender and flavorful and the japchae was full of fillings and the noodles were the perfect texture. I wish there was more fish cake in the ddukbokki and the chicken wasn't as light as I was expecting based on other KFC experiences. We found the bright lights of Stone Korean in a big parking lot and decided to go there instead. The restaurant is large and festive, and offers classic Korea bibimbap in stone bowls, sizzling BBQ platters, and tofu soup. Pretty good flavors, but its a three star overall for me. * Both chicken and beef bibimbap were pretty skimpy on the meat portions, though we did like the flavors and overall taste. The sizzling hot stone bowl does crisp up the rice at the bottom. * Kalbi (short rib) was a great dish - marinated and soft and jucy. It comes with a bowl of steamed rice and is shareable. * Pork Tofu Soup had a pleasant spiciness, even for mild. * Banchan was A-OK - classic kimchi, some bean curd, sprouts, and pickled onions. We would have loved some of that broccoli rabe, seaweed, and even a fried croaker fish like we get back in the SF Bay Area (Dublin's Tofu House). Like so many other say...this is good...believe it !! I have been going to this place for now almost 6 years and have always loved it. I have to admit there have been times when I got a 3 star dish but let us be realistic sometimes the chef have bad days too. Love their chicken bibimbap a lot. The chicken sometimes gets overcooked...but i personally like that because it gets the crispy charred flavor from the dolsot (stone hotpot). Crispy rice, pickled vegetable, golden egg and gochujang...and you get this amazing sizzling spicy taste going down to ur stomach. Love it...! Besides that I have love their bulgogi (i got for the spicy one to balance the sweetness of honey) In appetizers you cant go wrong with gyoza or pancake. I rarely get these though since i love their bibimbap and they serve a good portion size that i get full pretty quickly. One thing that I have not tried yet is their fried chicken...n dont ask me why...i dont know either...i just realized it while i was writing this review. Banchan keeps changing but overall its good too. Their timing of operation varied a bit based om crowds but of late, they have been consistent with what they have on site. The rice on the bottom gets a little crispy and brown which I love! The veggies were all fresh and tasty, the chicken tender. Loved it! We had a scallion pancake for appetizer. Stone Korean Restaurant is a fine, solid Korean restaurant, but I didn't find it to be anything exceptional. It was a cold night, so I chose the Dolsot Bibimbap with beef. It came with six varieties of banchan. They were all ok, but again, nothing exceptional. It sort of struck me as if they felt obligated to provide banchan because it's expected, but the bare minimum of effort was put into the offerings. I don't know if the banchan changes here from night to night, but on this visit I was served the mandatory kimchi, which was fine, oi-muchim (cucumber), which was a bit bland, some sprouts (also bland), cold broccoli, boiled seaweed (also both bland, but helped by the addition of some gochujang), and some Korean coleslaw, which I thought was the best of the six. The Bibimbap was actually quite good. The stone bowl was hot enough to create that delicious crispy rice layer on the bottom called nurungji. The ingredients were fresh and the portion substantial. If my score were based solely on this dish alone it would be higher, but aside from the lackluster banchan, the service, while professional, was lacking in any warmth or joy. I only saw a single waitserver when I was there, and he didn't seem to be having a good time. Maybe it was because I was dining alone. The tables with more people seemed to get more attention. God. It is the worst. It's not even that they are super busy, it just seems very poorly run and managed. Everything is so slow for some reason. Empty tables, dirty tables. It is bad enough to knock it down 1 or 2 stars. The other thing I want to nitpick is that they don't bring out the complimentary side dishes until your food comes. First time here and wow, such a good first impression! I LOVED the yukgaejang because it was so flavorful, and there was a generous amount of beef, eggs, noodles, and veggies. The bright red color is pretty intimidating, but it wasn't that spicy to me. My boyfriend ordered beef bibimbap, and we thought it was yummy but wished there was more meat. Otherwise, still a dish I recommend! The side dishes are great here, and there's a big variety , too! From the top of my head, they had kimchi, kimchi cucumbers, potatoes, fish cake, and more. Husbands yukkaejjang was actually really good, while my kimchi soondooboo had an aftertaste of tomato, almost. I ate about half. Just really disappointing. Worst of all, I paid $13 for that soondooboo! It is usually anywhere from $8.99 to $11 at the most. I was going to get bibimbap but I honestly couldn't bring myself to pay $16 for it!!! Stone has been one of my favorite Korean restaurants for many years! I always like to order the seafood pancake and the kimchi tofu soup! The tofu is soft and easy to eat, and the kimchi adds the perfect spice. Usually mild is ideal for my family, because the soup is so hot temperature wise that anything spicier makes it hard to eat in my opinion. My family also ordered the kalbi and pork bulgogi, both of which were really flavorful and tender, as well as the japchae. The japchae was only okay in my opinion, as it tasted pretty greasy and there was a lot of black pepper. The only downside to this restaurant is that everything is on the pricey side (the tofu soup being ~$20) and it's weird that dinner prices for the meat are $8-10 more than lunch prices. read more

Items we ordered (prices as of 6/2021). - Soft tofu soup combo - $15 - Missus got this and said that it was probably the best she's ever had in a restaurant! - Dduk Bok Gi - $13 - The rice cake was extremely soft and delicate. It was almost mochi in texture which was excellent. The sauce itself struck a good balance between spicy and sweet. Missing the cheese but otherwise was delicious! - 1/2 Fried 1/2 Marinated chicken - $28 - Okay so this to me was the star of the meal. I didn't realize this until later but they take an entire chicken and cut it up to be battered and fried. The marinade is a bit misleading because it's more of a sauce coating on the fried chicken piece but it was probably the best sauce I've had for Korean fried chicken which is quite impressive. Do note that it is a WHOLE chicken they prep for you so don't make the mistake we did and order it for 2 people.... I made it a personal goal not to have leftovers.... Definitely stop by! read more

I came here during lunch and did not need to wait for a party of 4. Stone shares a large parking lot with a couple other restaurants so finding a spot was not hard. After we ordered we were given some side dishes which were all good. Make sure you ask them to refill them for you if you run out! I ordered the bulgogi lunch special ($13) which comes with rice. It wasn't as saucy as I would've liked and it was a bit dryer than I expected. I liked the crispy rice on the bottom of the stone and I mixed it with the bibombob sauce. We ordered the chicken hot wings ($12) for the table to share and none of us were big fans. The chicken wings were a little spicy but there wasn't much other flavor to it.
