We ordered a shawarma, fries, and the mushroom plate -- and honestly, nothing was good. The mushroom plate is absolutely not worth the price. It's literally just rice, six tiny mushrooms, and a bit of salad. The mushrooms were extremely oversalted, the salt soaked into the rice, and the whole thing became impossible to eat. The salad was mostly cilantro, and the guy never mentioned it -- not everyone likes cilantro, and it was completely overwhelming. The shawarma was terrible. The meat was extremely dry and overcooked, almost like it had been sitting around forever. Definitely not enjoyable. The fries tasted like they were cooked in very old, stale oil -- they had that rancid smell and flavor that you get when the oil hasn't been changed in weeks. I've driven past this place many times on the way home and always wondered if I wanted to stop by. I decided to order from Stop4Shawarma through Grubhub and was pretty impressed! The lule kebab was juicy and flavorful. It was definitely the star of the meal. The rice was good and solid, just what I expected, cooked well. I also really enjoyed the Shiraz salad, probably one of the better ones I've had and it was seasoned well. Pretty sure I could eat a bowl of that on it's own. Maybe a touch more lime if possible. The addition of the jalapeños to the meal was, I thought, great. Gave the meal that spice that I love. The meal included a small piece of pita bread and then 2 sauces, which was a nice touch even though it was a bit forgettable compared to the rest of the meal. Still, I appreciate the effort to round things out. Overall, this place is great, and I'd definitely recommend giving it a try. I'm already looking forward to ordering from them again and trying something new next time. There wasn't much parking, but I just parked at one of the gas pumps when I ran in. The food was fantastic! My combo tray lasted for 3 meals and was a huge portion for what it cost. The hummus had the perfect, smooth texture and tasted a little saltier than what I'm used to, but I love salty. I love pork options, which aren't available at most shawarma spots - it's juicy, crispy, fatty and delicious. The owner told me next time to try the half pork, half chicken wrap so it's less fatty... But, I like it fatty and will be sticking with the pure pork going forward. They also had Russian okroshka and tahn yogurt drinks available. Never had the Abali tarragon flavor before, it was fantastic. Did I mention really good french fries? They had home style french fries and they were cooked perfectly- cripsy on the outside and soft on the inside. My kid said they were "the best french fries she'd ever had". They told me that today was the official grand opening day. They serve shawarma, bbq, lule kebab, sausage and fries. Everything looked fresh as they were preparing the wraps. I ordered a pork shawarma wrap. First I thought that the pork will be dry but surprisingly it was very good. I enjoyed it very much. I also ordered a chicken shawarma wrap for my son and that was delicious as well. The French fries was very crispy and seasoned just right. Prices are reasonable and so are the portions. I was really excited when I happened to drive by this new shawarma spot in Burbank, especially since any place that opens next to a gas station better have great food. And it does! I had the pork shawarma, which is a welcome rarity because I don't eat beef or chicken, and my pescatarian wife had the mushroom shawarma wrap, which is one of a kind! The interior is bright and modern, and the shawarma is inventive, yet the family behind the counter and the care they put into their menu feels very traditional. The best of old and new. The first word that comes to mind is "generous" -- particularly the portions, including the side of thick, slightly underdone (how I like them!) and perfectly seasoned fries. If you don't have good fries, I won't come back, and this place has excellent fries. The shawarma comes wrapped in cleverly branded foil, with a neat stop sign sticker helpfully identifying the filling. The pork was flavorful and juicy, with a nice charred crisp. The fillings are quite good and well-proportioned to not overwhelm the protein. I thought the cabbage and pickles were expertly done, the sauce was flavorful and light, and the twist of adding a little jalapeño is brilliant. My wife thought the mushrooms were spectacular, and I agree. She rarely ever eats shawarma because most places only offer falafel for non-meat eaters, and falafel is so hit-or-miss. I don't think Stop4Shawarma even has falafel, and it doesn't need it. The mushroom wrap is such a winner. Honestly it's game-changing. So smart! There are a few spots to sit inside, and it's a pleasant and clean atmosphere, but unless you're coming up on foot, I'd say it's better to order for takeout or delivery. Parking is nonexistent unless you want to take up a spot at a gas pump. All in all, I'm so happy to have some inventive and delicious shawarma in Burbank!
