OK, the five-star is supposed to mean "great" and I truly think it's "great" that the area is getting a new restaurant... there seems to be other activity in that center, as well... who knows, we may get some sushi in there soon! If we dine out, we will get more places to dine out... and at some point this area might even become trendy! But the food ranged from three stars to five... The little cheese filled bread-type thingy that they bring out (for free) ahead of the meal was really tasty and interesting and fun.... Pão de queijo? The brick chicken was pretty bland... the skin was on and not crisp at all so you are inclined to remove it unless you like soggy chicken skin. And once you remove it, you've removed all of the seasoning so you are left with a very meh piece of chicken. Also on the plate was some red mustard frill which, even at it's best, should not be the only ingredient in a salad (IMO) and to make it palatable, it was drenched with dressing... kind of uneatable. My wife loved the spaghetti and meatballs... I tried and it was good but the meatballs were kind of dry (tasted excellent tho) because the restaurant likes the look of them being presented sans sauce... and it is a pretty presentation. But makes for dry meat balls. Lastly... vibe. They have this very clean aesthetic going on... a very modern and kind of stark look. It's nice... feels kind classy. But it might be easy to confuse with a senior living facility dining room if you don't get the details right. Plastic plants make if feel more senior living facility. Having high chairs for babies lined up next to your table make it feel like you are in a Denny's storage room... I mean, if you need baby seats, you need baby seats... but if you are trying to convey elegance and finer dining, put them somewhere else. All that says to me is that I'm lucky the chairs were empty and that you regularly need three baby seats so there must regularly be three babies in the restaurant. Sorry... babies are cool at times but I wanted a sleek place with a quiet bar area. (They have the bar area but not sure if they serve hard alcohol.) read more

We had a reservation, but were seated at a table that wasn't prepared. The weather was around 62°F, yet the doors were left wide open, making the inside quite cold. Even though it was a cloudy day, the lighting inside was dim, and our table lamp wasn't working due to a dead battery. Everything took an unusually long time -- from taking our order to serving the food, clearing the table, and bringing the bill. I'm not sure if it was just our table, but the experience was extremely disappointing. I have absolutely no intention of visiting again and that was the most disappointing karaage I've ever had. read more

This restaurant is in the PV Mall, right across from Good Stuff on the second floor. It's spacious and has a high-end vibe. They kick things off with complimentary pão de queijo, which is a brazillian cheese bread and it was soft, chewy, and so delicious. It was a great first impression. The pasta and the sauce are all made in house according to our waitress. Everything was delicious! The prices are pretty reasonable for the quality, and the decor is beautiful. Modern and classy but not over-the-top. It's a great spot whether you're meeting up with friends/family, birthday celebration or a date! They even got high chairs and a kids menu if you have little ones. The only downside is that it's on the second floor of the mall, so it might be a little tricky for anyone in a rush to eat or mobility issues to get there (you can take the escalator or elevator to the second floor in the mall if needed). Other than that, it's definitely worth checking out! It's a super great addition to the mall. read more

Wow! Welcome to PV, Sugo Special! So happy to have you here. This is a large restaurant on the second floor of the Promenade, but it is also acceptable from the courtyard. It has been completely re-done in soft colors and warm woods with comfortable seating. The service was friendly and relatively attentive. They are working through kinks as they open this beautiful restaurant, but they are making it as comfortable as possible. The portions are HUGE so the dishes are a bit more than I would have expected - next time we will order less food. Every dish was outstanding. We started with warm, welcoming cheese bread. This stuff is SO AWESOME! The brick roasted chicken was super moist, the kale salad was fresh and had balanced flavors, the Caesar salad was creative and tasty, and the stone pot is on point. Each dish can easily feed two people, if not more. I am looking forward to returning - they are open 7 days a week from 8AM to 8PM. read more

Checked it out after hearing a few good things, and it ended up being a solid spot. The place has a nice, relaxed vibe -- kind of a mix of Korean, Italian, and Brazilian flavors, which sounds random but actually works well. We tried the Chicken Empanadas, Seafood Pan Roast, Octopus Pasta, Stone Pot Bibimbap, and the Hot Honey Sopressata Pizza. The Seafood Pan Roast and Octopus Pasta were my faves. Portions were decent and you can tell they use quality ingredients. Service was friendly and the space itself feels modern but comfortable. We are so very excited about this FANTASTIC new restaurant in PV on the hill! The food is delicious and there is a wide variety of creative options. I had the Blackened Salmon Salad and it was crispy on the outside, moist and tender and so flavorful (even though I asked for mine not to be blackened). The restaurant is absolutely beautiful with an open, airy, modern, yet warm feel to it. It really is so lovely with many seating options! Great for larger groups or small intimate gatherings. Our server was attentive and the staff is very accommodating to any dietary restrictions. The Brazilian bread they serve is absolutely amazing and is even gluten-free! They've done a great job renovating the former Luna Rosa restaurant in the Peninsula Mall. It's only week 3 so they need to work out the kinks but it's possible they could bring a much needed high end restaurant to PV. The menu is a fusion of Korean/Italian/Brazilian dishes with a modern decor. Tables are spaced far apart so they can definitely add additional seating if things pick up. No hard alcohol license at the moment just beer and wine and mocktails. Service is attentive but it's early and they need to learn a few things like giving a taste to a guest after opening a bottle of wine instead of pouring full glasses for everyone. They did not offer larger share plates when they knew we were sharing our meal. They also didn't include serving spoons to their dishes. Portion sizes are large and the food and flavors are good with some dishes not looking like the pictures on their website though. We were looking forward to the Pan Roast but it was not as advertised. Tasted good but was small in comparison to the pictures published by the owner. The pizza looked and tasted good but the crust wasn't what I expected. Very light and fluffy and not crispy at all even though it had a nice char. Would prefer a nice crunch on my crust. Green goddess kale salad was huge and tasted good but the kale pieces were huge and were wilted and not crisp. The cheese bread was really good and huge. The Branzino tasted good but the presentation hides the large fish underneath all the greens. Show off that fish! Prices are fair and overall I would come back after a couple months to see if they've ironed things out. There are other dishes I would like to try. I wish them the best. read more

I usually enjoy eating out here with my son, but our visit today was deeply upsetting. From the start, the management felt incredibly disorganized; we were ignored at the entrance and then left waiting a very long time for anyone to even bring us menus.Seeing other tables who arrived after us get served immediately while we were neglected was the final straw. Even after we finally ordered, the service was messy--they completely forgot my salad, and I had to go out of my way to flag someone down just to get our food. To make matters worse, we were told a small snack that was previously free would now cost $3. It felt like the rules were being made up on the spot. I really wanted to like Sugo, but the service was absolutely horrible from start to finish. We ordered three steaks--two were brought out without the chimichurri sauce. When we asked our waitress, she told us they didn't have any. Later, a different waiter came by and brought the sauce with no problem. To make matters worse, our third steak didn't arrive until 15 minutes later, so half the table had already finished eating by the time the last plate came. Drinks we requested to be refilled never arrived. Dessert was another disaster--served one at a time, 20 minutes apart. Meanwhile, the staff were openly arguing with each other in front of us and the kitchen, which only added to the uncomfortable experience. At one point, the bartender came over (saying the manager wasn't there) and offered to comp one dessert. He blamed the runner for serving our dessert "too quickly," but that excuse made no sense. Ice cream has to be served immediately--ours was already melting when it reached the table. How were they planning to "hold" the second dessert if the ice cream was already melting on the first? The story didn't add up at all. To add insult to injury, the second dessert that came out was not even correct. On top of all this, the portions were small for the price. Between the lack of attentiveness, the confusion, and the constant excuses, this was one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. Definitely will not be returning. read more

The food is a fusion of korean and mexican cuisine i guess, i personally like the steak lol. But my favorite is the french fries lol they tasted superb, reminds me of home. My family really liked everything from the Pão De Queijo , the platter, the picanha, the branzino. Everything. Of course service is top notch, very helpful and communicative. A rare new addition to the area, this restaurant at PV Mall (above Talbots) is a treat. Walking through the elegant white hallway into a bright bar and dining space felt nice. We were a bit early so had to seek out staff to be seated. The diverse menu ranges from Korean dishes to steak and pizza; our wonderful waitress kindly treated us to complimentary Brazilian cheese popovers--absolutely delicious. My seafood pan roast and dessert were tasty, though the restaurant charged us for an unavailable menu item, suggesting some minor hiccups during their soft opening. We live on " the hill" and it's so nice to have a restaurant so close by with good food, good service, spacious, comfy and contemporary ambiance. It was our first time here but I'd definitely come back. The cuisine being Asian fusion is a big plus for us. I had a mocktail ginger mint soda with cucumber. Very refreshing. I had the hot stone bibimbap and my husband had the octopus pasta. Both were very tasty, beautiful presentation and clearly hot and straight from the kitchen. We came here on Thursday night with a group of 8. It was not too busy but the service was off, it took 15 minutes for our Sprite to find the table, after the other drinks were already placed, and one of the entrée orders came out much later than the others. Generally speaking, I liked this place, it has a lot of potential. The dining room is huge with big open-air ceilings. The ambience was great, with a refreshing white finish throughout. For starters, the bread is really good. We also had the fried calamari appetizer, which is served with lime aioli & house-made marinara sauce - YUM (A grade). For my entrée, I had the shrimp miso pasta - spaghetti pasta with large prawns, Korean fermented soybean pasta with bacon, garlic & wild mushrooms. It was super rich, but an 'A' grade. My wife had the sugo sliders - (3pc) Korean soy glazed ground kobe beef patties, served in Kimchi reduction sauce infused with house-made 1000 island, pepper jack grilled cheese, shaved lettuce & grilled onions, this was another 'A' grade. I will definitely come back again and see how they are progressing; I hope the restaurant sticks. read more

I've now been twice. Service was slow both times. On my second visit, we were literally the only table in the restaurant so no excuses. On my second visit, I ordered a salad and asked if I could remove one item from it. My friend then asked if she could have my item instead. Waiter checked and came back to tell us, it'd be $2 to add my item to her plate. What? So weird. My food was decent both times, but nothing special. My kid, who loves chicken and pizza, hated both items from the kids' menu. I really want to like this place as the space itself is spacious & beautiful, but they need to work on food & service. Their SZECHUAN CHICKEN SLIDERS were amazing and perfectly cooked! Their pizzas are all so good too! My absolute favorite is- HOT HONEY SOPRESSATA. Their SEAFOOD PAN ROAST was so good! I definitely cannot stop thinking about it! I feel like I can just go on and on about all their items!!!! This was an excellent dining experience, a welcome addition to the PV landscape. We dined there as a party of 10 with some kids. The food and menu looked great - a lot of innovative dishes that I hope to try in future visits. Started off with the popovers which wet fluffy and cheesy. Shared some pork belly baos and chicken lettuce wraps, both delicious - I liked how the pork belly was crispy in the bao. Went with the seafood pan roast as my main - lots of seafood and great flavor. Nibbled on some of the others' mains, those were great as well.
