Went for a Patron Tequila dinner recently. It was great to get out and the dinner was delicious. We had our own private room with just 6 tables in it, which really helped us get great attention from the host, and the serving staff. The cocktails were outstanding, and the food -- especially the chicken tinga tostada - was delicious! The ribeye was well-hidden under the poblano crema, which made it tough for those who like to de-fat our ribeyes before eating. But the potatoes brava were excellent as well. The only star is for the ambience and food. The waiter sucks for sure. Second time coming here, and get very very bad service. My bill is 45 dollars. The black hard waiter first told me my card is not working, then I paid 60 bucks in cash, he returned me 6 bucks. I was wondering if I gave him 50 bucks instead of 60 bucks. I questioned him here and he returned 10 bucks right away. For me, it is more like a stealing for sure. I can understand people want to make more money but not like this!!! So it's Easter Sunday and we go to Hugo's around the corner. They inform us it's Easter and they only serve brunch they're closing. Oh... well who would you recommend around here. He gave us some choices and the last was Sullivan said he has 2/3 customers come in there because Sullivan wasn't good. So despite the advice and because most of the others didn't open till 4pm we went. ‍The server(at first) was nice. It took forever to get our drinks, we weren't offered bread so because we hadn't gotten our oyster appetizer 45 min later we asked for bread. The runner threw it on our table without even looking at us. Then the oysters came... and they were HUGE! Now maybe that's a good thing but to us we had never seen them. I'm a chef in California and now in Illinois and have never seen any so big so we told them we'd pay but we don't want them. They did take them off the bill BUT.... after that our waitress disappeared we had another waitress. We even explained to our waitress it wasn't her fault and we weren't mad. The service was terrible. The waiter seemed to make assumptions about us when we first walked into the restaurant. Asking us where we were from and what brought us all the way to Naperville. He even called me a girl at some point. He was very unprofessional.Then as we ordered our food, he assumed that we did not know how to order our food. When we asked him a question about the sides instead of him answering how the side taste.He said I would not choose it as a main entree. He assumed we came into a steak house to order sides. The food took along time to come out. The bread came out with the appetizers . Instead of them bringing us out the lobster mashed potatoes , they brought us out regular garlic mashed potatoes. Then they realized that they brought us out the wrong potatoes after we had already started eating the regular potatoes. The food was not good.it tasted like cafeteria food. It was not seasoned and the whole experience was horrible. The jumbo shrimp were not deveined. The crab cakes were just ok. The garlic mashed potatoes were just ok. The asparagus was not seasoned and tasted very much like water. Save your money and go some where else. This place has poor service and mediocre food. read more

Next time I think I'm going to just have the mascato, which is $11. My co-worker and I both sat in the bar because we didn't want to wait and we ordered delmonico steaks off the bar menu, which we thought were very average. We had dinner at longhorn last night and ordered ribeyes. We were discussing how the steaks at longhorn tasted much better for the exact same price, $20. I also got a long pour mango margarita at longhorn last night which tasted better than the cocktail I had here today (and 4 times as much beverage for $2 less). The delmonico steak tasted like a hamburger. My steak was also very overcooked. The wedge salad was excellent and a great deal for only $4. I was not impressed with the French fries at all. If my company comes back here again next year, and my coworkers ask me where I want to go, I will probably not choose this place, but if someone else chooses it, I think I will order the sea bass with a moscato. We couldn't have had a worse time on our last visit. We had a 9pm reservation. It wasn't too crazy for a Saturday night. When we were sat, there was a pile of used napkins sitting on one of the chairs. Again, wasn't busy for a Saturday night but it's no big deal. We ask for a bottle of water, wait for our server and right away we ordered a few appetizers and a couple drinks. We had a child in our party and decided we'd be better off sitting in a booth for when he inevitably fell asleep. My significant other got up and approached the host to tell her where we were sitting and asked if we could be moved to a booth. She thought to ask where. ? I don't know, but maybe if you check the chart you'll see where there's a booth available, in a section thats open, preferably with the server that already started taking care of us. She said we were okay to move but didn't bother to help move the things we already had on the table. No big deal, we grab our coats, our glasses, bread, bottle of water and move seats. Our appetizers came out, we ordered more drinks, and put in the kids chicken tenders that is supposed to come with a drink & ice cream for dessert. At no point did the server ask what drink we wanted but once again, its no big deal. When the chicken tenders come out, my kid is sleeping & we're waiting for our main course and another round. We've dined here before but the steak could not have been more charred and not in a good way. When the server comes back we try to get another round of drinks and a dessert menu. He tells us that not only did the kitchen close but that the bar was closed as well and drops the check. At no point did it cross his mind that maybe it'd be a good idea to warn us they were doing last call for the kitchen and bar. Dessert is quite literally the easiest thing to plate. He said the bar let him put in one more round so he came back with that and the new check, but the bar still had a decent amount of guests in the bar area when we left. We didn't get the ice cream that was included, he didn't offer us a box, he didn't offer us coffee when he said he couldn't get us another round or dessert, he didn't even offer us another bottle of water. At the beginning of the meal he asked if we were celebrating anything and we told him no. Imagine if we had been celebrating something special and this is the experience was had. read more

The service I received while attempting to dine at the bar, was very unwelcoming so much to that I didn't even bother to have my dinner. When I go to a recommended restaurant in hopes of having a great dining experience and having to spend money on a good steak, I expect the service to match! I will not spend my hard earned money on an establishment where I am not served with the same energy or experience that I witnessed "others" receiving. Pros: Loved the ambience and food at this place! They made me a special mocktail since I was pregnant but I wanted to a fruity drink. The cheesesteak eggrolls were delicious and the salad was delicious. I didn't get a chance to take pictures with the actual entree because I devoured that really quick! We did the 4 course meal that they have and it was worth it! Cons: There's no parking right next to the restaurant. You have to park in the public parking spots that's there. This review is entirely based on the staff, not the food. Our server, JD, was great. I would have never known that it was his first day on the floor if he hadn't told us. It was the lady that was training him who deserves the 2 stars. Joy was extremely rude. Made us feel uncomfortable, like we weren't important enough to be there. She made more than a few rude comments to him while he was taking our order and explaining the off menu options. It wasn't just us either, I heard her yelling at him and saying "let's go!" or "take your time, we don't have anyone else to serve!" while he was talking to other tables. Honestly, I said to my wife, "I feel like we're on that show "What Would You Do?". For example, I had asked for a drink to have when my dinner came out, JD went to the bar to get it, and before he could even get there, she grabbed him and said "no, you need to box up this tables food!" I guess I'm not as important as the table across from us. Why was it more important for their food to get boxed up than my drink for my dinner? Am I not an important customer? Certainly feels that way! Also, putting that much pressure on someone, during their first day, isn't how you train someone. When you grab someone in the middle of doing something, of course they're going to forget things/tasks. You would think, Joy, would be helping him not critiquing his every move in front of a customer. I'm sure he felt embarrassed, I know I would! I really hope he didn't have to split his tips with her either! I wanted to talk to the manager before I left but I couldn't find him on my way out. My experience was absolutely a pleasure at the Downtown Naperville location. It was sort of a big day for us and we went in not knowing what to expect and everything was perfect. Everything happened relatively quickly, thanks to the help of our waiter David. He gave excellent recommendations, was really funny and told stellar life stories. General atmosphere was just if not more than what I would expect from such a good place. 3.5 stars Ever get a gift card for a place you likely wouldn't go to or maybe it's just not worth the inconvenience? Well, this is one of those times (even though I had heard relatively good things about Sullivan's), I just never had the itch. Plus, I'm horrible at remembering to use gift cards (I've kept some for years) but since this involved steak and a pandemic, we thought this was a great time to get rid of it before it entered the abyss. I was totally pumped for a steak dinner until I viewed their online menu that is. We're talking slimmer than slim steak options. Three is the max; Filet (2 sizes), Ribeye & NY Strip. How's that for variety. I'm not counting Rack of Lamb. Now, I KNOW many restaurants have resized their menu since the pandemic...understandable. BUT this is a steakhouse! Where's the beef?? Ok..rant over. Suffice to say, this was the quickest menu decision I've ever made...lack of options always makes me more decisive. Our take-out consisted of: Prime NY Strip 12 oz ($43), George's Bay Seared Sea Scallops ($39), Nueske's Pork Belly app ($15) and for dessert; Key lime pie. I really wanted the Cheesesteak eggrolls (don't they sound good?) but forgot to add to the order :/ Our steak was cooked an almost perfect med rare...some parts were slightly cooked more, but it was a tasty, good quality piece of meat and remained juicy by the time we got home. Scallops were nicely seared, but I didn't taste any shallot dijon or any type of sauce. They were pretty basic for $39, but again, quality was there. Pork belly were served as medallions and good but salty. Key lime pie was more of a cheesecake with a strong lime presence and yummy...why they served it with raspberry sauce is an enigma. We did enjoy our meal but probably won't be back. I'm just glad we took advantage of our gift card. Mission accomplished! read more

We've come to Sullivan's for specials occasions, the most memorable was when my mom and brother was here for a vacation for the 1st time. My brother enjoyed the cheesecake so much! Since we have been on quarantine because of the coronavirus, we cannot come over here. I am so happy that during the Easter holiday they opened their restaurant for delivery and curbside pickup. We ordered Ribeye, chicken breast, jumbo shrimps, cheesecake and salad. Just this last Thursday, we ordered again ribeye, filet, salad and cheesecake. We appreciate their service and delicious food! Went to this local restaurant last night for my wife's birthday with our children. Very nice place with plenty of space in our large booth. Our waiter was nice but very forgetful, but as I said he was nice and polite. We ordered the sure thing a three course meal at $49 per person. My wife got the fillet, Caesar salad and the Keylime pie which the fillet came out like a small hockey puck. She wanted it medium rare and it was very very well done but as it was her birthday, she didn't want to complain. I ordered the ribeye, wedge salad and cheesecake. My steak was actually very good, but way over seasoned and they didn't tell me there was an up charge of $11 from the prefix menu because they didn't have an actual menu for prefix.. my children got the chicken tenders and fries. they ate most of the fries but not the tenders. We ended up throwing them away at home as when I tasted them, they were very overcooked and dry. It's a very nice and elegant restaurant but I feel that the food is the same or if not worse then longhorn steakhouse.... At the end I do not believe that it was worth the 170.00 dollars spent but I always wanted to try this restaurant. As of two weeks ago they seem pretty concerned about my experience as noted threw this site. After trying to contact them and explaining my experience though there email and contacting there restaurant it all FELL ON DEATH EARS....
