RUDE LYING TEENAGE GIRL HOSTESSES, OVERPRICED STEAKS, AND MANAGER STROLLING AROUND THE RESTAURANT IN A SCOOTER. We went in during the week in the evening with no reservations at 7pm. The hostesses lied and we were told there weren't any open tables or booths until 7:30. We waited and were sat at 7:30. We looked around and there were at least 4 empty booths that were clean and place settings were set. Steak was not cooked properly as we asked for medium and it was rare. The manager is putzing around the entire restaurant in a scooter. Very unprofessional for what's supposed to be a high end steak house. We haven't come here in years due to poor similar experiences and wont be back. read more

I have never been to the Naperville Sullivan's before this week but I am SO glad I tried! We went for our anniversary and they truly made everything so special. We went with the crab cake and shrimp cocktail for an appetizer and both were fantastic. I had the salmon which was cooked perfectly and the asparagus was fresh and tasty. My boyfriend did a steak that was on special (apologies I forgot which one) but he said it was incredible. We finished with a slice of their key lime pie and not only was it delicious, but they added extra flair by remembering our anniversary . The service was exceptional and they handled COVID prevention aspects flawlessly; we felt very safe. Overall a real 10/10 dinner! read more

Hit or miss here! Two weeks ago, really good food and service. Last week... bad service and tough steak. Too bad.

You won't leave Sulli's hungry; trust me. This establishment shows off their best courses upfront. Fresh bread right out of the oven. A knockout lettuce wedge salad with bleu cheese dressing. Creamy, savory lobster bisque. The main course was okay. Both the prime rib and filet could have been more tender, impressive pieces of meat. The horseradish mashtatoes were delicious, and the mac n cheese was so buttery and heavy, I'd recommend planning on leftovers. Dessert was a bit of a disappointment. Not as fresh as would be expected from a steakhouse like this, the bread puddings and peanut butter pie were alright. If they were made that day, they were hanging out in the fridge for a long whillllle. Expect a dimly light, woody interior and attentive, but not overbearing, service. The prix fixe options are a good deal: $29 for 3 courses. read more

I had dinner here on Saturday, April 8th as an early Easter celebration with my two adult children. I have to say - everything was just excellent. They accommodated our request for a special seat based on my disability. The server was excellent - and the food was divine. 5 stars all across the board for food, service, ambiance, and value. This is where you need to go for a special occasion meal. We had NY strips, au gratin potatoes, the steak eggrolls, and a few rounds of cocktails. We all three shared one dessert - as the portion size was more than enough. I am adding Sullivan's to my favorite places to eat list. We will definitely be back. read more

Honestly overpriced for not the best quality food. Its a steak house but the chicken was a lot better than the steak. We had reservations and still had to wait 25 minutes to be seated. When we were seated, they put us in the back corner booth where all of the servers bussers and managers stand and talk right next to us! The only good thing we got was the shrimp egg rolls as an appetizer. Definitely not coming back here to pay $200 for two mediocre meals and an appetizer with not great service. read more

Last week I went and ate a Sullivan steakhouse and it was very professional and fancy looking and we sat ourselves down and their was tons of tv's which was cool.Me and Dad ordered, and they said they were out of fries like how do you run out of fries, but anyway I got steak sliders and he got a cheeseburger when we got our food the steak sliders weren't really steak they were more like a roast slider. So instead of fries we got homemade chips and they were kinda of chewy and stale.Overall the decor was nice the food was Ok the mood was chill would go back when they have chips. read more

I was surprised & bummed by the mediocre service I received at Sullivan's since they moved from downtown Chicago to the suburbs of Naperville. Sullivan's was my preferred place to go for date night. I went last week & did not enjoy my meal. I ordered a Ribeye prepared medium instead it was cooked a little to well through for my liking. I masked it by topping the steak with their incredible gongorza cheese & butter. My crab & lobster bisque was served lukewarm & took away from me enjoying it. My husband & friend both ordered caesar salad & had the same complaint--"too strong of a fishy taste." We were also bummed that the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls were not being offering. I spent the weekend in Naperville & I looked forward to enjoying what used to be, 1 of my favorite steakhouses especially having not had Sullivan's since they relocated from downtown Chicago but, it let me down. I did bring my disappointing experience to my waiter who tried to reconcile by offering a free dessert. We've been to Sullivans countless times. Unfortunately, the quality of the food and service has declined tremendously. I ordered the scallops, and was extremely ill. The lemonade tasted thick and old. (The creme brûlée on a prior visit almost had a bread like consistency, and there was no sugar glaze.) Our server was quietly dismissive, inattentive and made us feel like we were troubling him to take our order. Didn't discuss specials. We had cocktails, drinks, an appetizer, entrees and dessert. He didn't even ask if we'd like a second drink. Absolutely no interest in being polite UNTIL we asked for the check. Then he repeatedly called us "friend". A little too late. This place has gone down the drain, or at least the service has. Management: please hire better hostesses. You have inconsiderate, non-hospitable, non intelligent teenagers greeting people. Makes your restaurant look terrible. I called ahead and asked about highchairs being available and got a yes. I asked if it would be a problem if I came in early enough this evening with a toddler and was told it'd be fine. So I didn't make reservations. I walk in at 4:30pm and am told they are fully booked. The place is empty..... and I'm like, where? I'm told all the reservations are for 5pm and that me my husband and toddler can sit at the bar. Why AND HOW would I sit at a high top table at the bar with a toddler who would be in a highchair? Also, I'm 8 months pregnant and definitely look it. So again I ask, why would u think I'd be ok sitting at a high top? The stupidity, I swear. Then I'm like don't you take walk-ins? Yes, they do, but only for the booths. The tables (where they can sit a highchair) are for bigger parties. And I'm like, can u work something out? And the teen hostesses are just staring at me like sorryyyy. I wait for a good 7-10 mins for my husband to drive back around as he had already parked. One of the girls comes over and says they can try to make us a table if we still want it. No. No flipping thanks. And that's the end of me ever going to Sullivan's. NOT CHILD FRIENDLY. NOT FRIENDLY. PERIOD. What upsets me the most is the unprofessional manner this was handled in. And THIS is why teenagers should not be hosts at a steakhouse. read more

Came into to town from Florida for the holiday coming up, and my brother swore by this place. Decided to have a nice dinner with all the siblings to celebrate time being together. The food was amazing all around, but what amazed me was when the staff went out of their way to provide me a space to nurse my 4 month old son. They ended up closing the blinds to the back dining room and allowed me to nurse in privacy! Overall, it was an amazing time with great food and fantastic service :) read more

Don't bother ordering delivery from here. I spent over $135 and two items were missing. I can understand if it was just one item. You'd think when spending that much money on delivery they'd check the bags before sending them out. I called and the manager was incredibly rude. On top of the the food was mediocre at best for the prices they charge. I will never spend money at this place again. Just look at the comments. Whoever runs this location needs to be fired. We ordered the Fare for 5 from the Naperville, IL restaurant and were not disappointed. The meat was tender and all the food arrived warm and ready to eat. Everything was delicious from the Cheesecake eggrolls, Ceaser's salad, Sliced rib-eye, asparagus, and garlic mashed potatoes. The sauce for the steak was amazing. The menu wasn't even reviewed, my husband was served his drink before me, we were never given any attention and Oscar didn't even check to see how our food came out. He darn near threw the dessert menu down, did not review it or provide suggestions. He simply did not care about us which is sad bc the rest of our experience was good. When you're paying over $300 for a meal for 3 people, you MUST provide excellent service. Would go back bc all other aspects of our dining experience were great. read more

Sullivan's is a great spot in downtown Naperville. The food, location, service and entertainment are exceptional. This is our restaurant of choice for date nights and Dave and Kevin always make the best cocktails, the apps and steaks are perfect, and the servers and staff are incredibly attentive. Donny Nichilo is awesome on the piano and his singing is spot on. To give you a sense of his talents, he played with Billy Guy and Carlos Santana, so he definitely knows his stuff. Crazy good. If you're looking for a great date night or place to hold a special celebration I couldn't recommend Sullivan's more. read more

OMG! My husband and I stopped here Sunday on a whim. Asked to be seated for lunch. Hardly any patrons were sitting at the bar. According to Matt who is the GM (confounding) claimed they were booked solid and short staffed. We then asked to be seated in the bar and were told that he can't place additional pressure on his staff and we couldn't be seated. Wow! This guy lied right to our faces! He also allowed business to walk out the door. He allowed others without a reservation to walk in and seated them. We know because we witnessed this happen. Although we had dined here a few months prior and agreed it went downhill we decided to give it one more chance only to be turned away because of personal feelings the manager apparently has for us. This establishment was sold to new owners and the quality has suffered. It's nowhere near the quality or taste it once was. It used to be our go to steakhouse. The bernaise sauce isn't even a real sauce. I'm not quite sure what it is though. Ask for a steak well done and they only know one thing. Raw. So here's my advice should you consider eating at a deliberately darkened roach infested (I've seen em) dive whose food is seriously lacking run like your the last two monkeys boarding Noah's Ark and it's starting to rain. You've been warned folks! Also-who appreciates a general manager who is rude and disrespectful and who clearly has a problem. Plenty of other places to get a great steak in Chicago and our money is good anywhere!!!! read more

I take no pleasure in writing this review. For the amount we paid for dinner we expected top notch service. When we walked in Sunday 10-16-22 4:00, there was a customer complaining to the Manager in the main check in area, Bad sign. It is customary to have bread at the table. We asked multiple of times and finally after 45 min, a table of 9 received 1 little loaf. Usually a waiter walks by filling water. They filled our water only 1 time. We all had empty glasses. There were little gnats flying all over every now and then, the entire room smelled like a sewer. We waited over an hour for dessert. waited another 20 min for our bill after asking 2 times. Then the waiter said the manager will bring it. we had to wait another 10 minutes. I wanted to tell the manager at the time what was wrong, but as noted from earlier when walking in, his expression to the other customer complaining said it all, didnt care. Service, plain and simple sucked. I would appreciate a call from anyone other than the floor manager to contact me and explain why this happened. We viewed other table getting great service they paid for, why was ours horrible? Was it because there was an automatic 20% tip added on the bill? So why would the waiter do anything, knowing they would get the 20 percent no matter what service was presented? We, loved this place in the past, now we will never return. Very unfortunate. Went for 48th Anniversary last night. We ordered the Bone in Ribeye and Scallops with au gratin potatoes, Brussel sprouts, asparagus and 2 deserts, ( one comped). Ordered two Old Fashions with premium bourbon . Barely filled a third of the tumbler, with ice ball. Server ignored our comment. The Service was average. Food was fair to poor. Steak was OK but with a terrible rub. Scallops "fishy". Potatoes were great. The other two vegetable were inedible. Deserts were uninspiring. Cost was expensive for the poor experience and quality of food. We went there because we had a great lunch there earlier in the year. Will not return. read more

So I want to be clear, the food here was really good. I went with a group of friends, we all got steak and ultimately, the steak was delicious. I ordered the 12 oz filet Oscar style and ordered it medium-rare. It came out rare. NBD, it wasn't undercooked to the point where it was problematic. I also wasn't impressed with the size of the crab cake but it was only a topper. So fwiw, it's not a substantial size. My buddy ordered a porterhouse and he actually did send his back. All 5 people in my party ordered medium-rare steaks and they all came out rare. Wouldn't normally let that bother me but the server also messed up my drink order (gave me the wrong brand gin) and brought out my salad before my steak, after I specified when I ordered that I wanted it brought out with the steak. Decided to try this place out of the blue, food was excellent. The 1lb lobster was cooked perfectly & so was try dry aged rib-eye. The Passion flower martini was wonderful but pear & egg martini wasn't the best and it didn't have much of an egg texture to it. I was shocked of how terrible we were treated here. I made a lunch reservations for my daughter's birthday and the staff here ruined the occasion from the start. A young Caucasian hostess refused to seat us even though 7 out of 10 guest(including the one paying the bill) were present. I pleaded to let us seat as we were blocking the entry way and the were plenty of empty tables to accommodate our guests. She was rude and condescending and made us feel very uncomfortable. By the time we got seated things unfortunately went downhill. Our waiter, rolled his eyes at us whenever we made a simple legitimate requests (all regarding our food). Never checked in on us and even served us dirty coffee by mistake. Definitely not coming back, at this price point there are far too many choices in this town. We've had family dinners at Hugo's, Catch51, Morton's and NEVER felt so uncomfortable. I didn't want to further ruin my daughter's special day or inconvenience my guest and therefore held back my complaints. We spent almost $1,000 and the service we got was of a cheap-uneducated ordinary fast food establishment. If you're of a diverse background, stay away!!! read more

This place has the worst staff, went there for lunch today being the first diners and the hostess was sour and extremely unfriendly. She acted as if being put upon to seat us. Then after 5 minutes the waiter came and asked if we wanted to order without asking if we wanted drinks. We ordered drinks and asked for some bread, but we're told 'we have no bread, it wasn't delivered.' So after a round of drinks, we wanted seconds and he never came to ask, we had to flag him down as he only had two other tables, but was paying attention to their needs, not ours. Finally flagged him down, we ordered the business lunch and my chicken under the brick wasn't completely cooked! It was a thick, unsightly breast when this chicken should be served flattened and thinner, thus 'under the brick.' It wasn't. So he finally came and asked how was everything and I said it wasn't cooked and just take it off the bill. He said they would, but the 2 managers on duty couldn't be bothered to come to our table to apologize and say we will take it off our check. A good manager would have done so, this guy was too busy looking important running around in a 4 table occupied restaurant. Bottom line the staff there is bad. It's also very highly priced and delivers below average food. Stay away from this place. read more
