So let's get this out of the way, this isn't your typical Summer Moon location, welcome to their food truck. I had almost passed it because I didn't know what I was looking for. Look for the South Austin Church parking lot. Their coffee though tastes the exact same and it's true that they might not have many food options compared to their brick and mortar locations. But parking is so much easier and I feel like the customer service at this location was exceptional. Alyssa was so polite and kind, she even tried to go out of her way just to get to know me. There are outdoor patios and benches, you might not have the a/c but you do have complimentary wifi. What a treat, thanks so much summer moon. Taking a break from teaching, a fellow teacher offered to bring me a coffee. When asked what kind, I simply told her to surprise me. When she got back about 10 minutes later with my coffee, it was piping hot and freshly brewed. I have never tried Summer Moon before and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. Found this little gem thanks to yelp! It was recommended to download the app and order there in advance for pickup. I felt the app had a very poor user experience and wasn't easy/simple to add a credit card and checkout. We ended up going and was able to order in person and got our order quickly. We ordered iced blue mocha moon and yummmmmm so good! One thing to note is they are currently not serving food due to the covid situation. I rarely hand out 2 stars but this is not the Summermoon I'm obsessed with*. The drinks are inconsistent - every latte I've had I've the past four visits is different (even within the same order) Frankly, unacceptable for a chain. When they opened, it was all good, but in the last month or so...no thanks. I'm so disappointed, especially since this seems so easily avoided. Im trying to hang in there, heck maybe it's just a training issue, but the issue persists. I swear they used to open earlier on weekends, now it's 8. For anyone up and at em on a weekend this is unfortunate. I might as well go to 1st street. There are fire ants everywhere. I can't really blame SM for this but if there is anything that can be done it would definitely make customer experience more pleasant. This morning they had ashtrays out on each table. Last straw. Location on Menchaca in Austin - Cold brew when it was supposed to be hot and arrogant, entitled, and disrespectful baristas served us today. I asked where our drink was after we had 6 people order after us and all get served before us. I was told to "Calm down," and proceeded to have both baristas gang up on me, with them even inviting ridicule from a customer after their ridicule. Absolutely horrible experience. Came here after a not so filling meal and it was the best decision ever!! You walk up to the truck and go inside this little nook to order! We got the espresso milkshake which is like a mocha Frappuccino and then the frozen hot chocolate was like a milkshake! The staff was very friendly and the service was quick! We grabbed our drinks and headed home. Super delicious and definitely filled us up the rest of the way and cooled us down from the heat! Would highly recommend stopping here for hot or cold! We were on a road trip and we decided to stop for coffee. I've been obsessed with Summer Moon lately so we made sure to stop at one of their many locations. I had ordered a half wintermoon iced latte. As always, their coffee is delicious and on point- not too sweet with the right amount of caffeine. Great service as well. They do offer pastries but we didn't order any. Parking isn't too bad and there's seating so you can chill while you wait for your coffee. I'm giving this particular location though a 1 star review as I felt the lady at the registrar was pretty rude and unhelpful and made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome and I honestly don't know why. I've come here countless times. They are fast and efficient! The staff is super friendly, coffee is great and it's a convenient spot off Manchaca. I order a "Whisper" which isn't listed on the menu. Very unique roasting profiles. Their coffee is more toasty and nutty thanks to the wood fire while not being over roasted or charred. Definitely recommend checking them out. Best coffee in Austin. Even if you don't like sweet coffees, their roasts are some of the smoothest and richest flavors I've ever run across. You can't go wrong with any of the locations, but this one is my little "home" location. The trailer is so much fun. An excellent concept and an incredible crew. They are friendly and REALLY love both coffee and their regulars. Do you have a complicated drink you like to order because you're an experimental weirdo who has extremely exacting tastes (read: me), the trailer crew takes it with a smile. What's more, they remember my weird orders so much that if I forget to specify a part of it, THEY remind ME. It's hilarious, and I deeply appreciate it. Moon milk is a phenomenon you have to try. Good coffee but this business does not understand what a cappuccino is. They sell it in a 12oz cup and don't have proper cappuccino cups. So one has to ask for a proper cap and it's so convoluted. 12oz caps are what the rest of the world calls a latte. Ordering online there is no place to write you want a traditional cap. Just asking for a traditional cap is hilarious to me. You know you have lattes on the menu already right? So redundant. Maybe spring for some cap cups idk. First time here (02-18-18) after the Austin Half-Marathon and boy was this a fun treat! Staff was nice. When the cashier learned it was our first time, she yelled at the other 2 girls to "hush up" & cracked us up because we were learning the menu. Our sister took us here as she's a true regular of yours..... my husband loved his coffee & since I was full from brunch, I had a sip or two of his beverage and I had to let you know how delicious I thought it was. During COVID we have tried to use Summer Moon a couple of times but often employee masks were being taken off once a line died down. Rumor mill says employees test positive but they don't tell notify other employees about it. THAI FRESH however closed down for 2 weeks after just one of their employees tested positive and continued to pay their staff in full so go there for coffee! read more

I loved this place! The staff was extremely friendly and informative, the moo milk is their own delightful creation and even better that you can choose full, 1/2, or 1/4 sweet! In Austin for the month of June and decided to try a bunch of new places. The Summer Moon Coffee Trailer has OK coffee.

I live on the side street the truck is on so it's literally a 5 second drive / 2 minute walk from my house. It's been open for a few months and I had always been meaning to go on my way to work, but never pulled the trigger. This morning, I finally did and I wish I did it sooner! I went in around 8:30 and there was a small crowd outside with dogs in the gazebo where they have a really cute setup to relax once you get your coffee. I went inside the truck to order and was only second in line, and waited about 2-3 minutes for my drink, if that. I had never tried any Summer Moon coffee before and decided to go with a Soy Mocha Latte. I got a 12 oz for $4.50 and it was absolutely amazing. I overheard the barista recommending their "Moon Milk" which she described as a sweetened, thick milk - comparable to a malt or sweetened condensed. They also carry non-dairy options such as coconut, almond and soy milk if you want something a little less heavy. They also have breakfast tacos from Borrego de Oro for $3 a taco, but I did not try those on this visit. I will definitely be coming back since it is so close to the house and will be trying the Moon Milk coffee as well as picking up some tacos. I've been a few times to this coffee trailer and found that the tasty coffee and friendly service are on point with other locations of summer moon. Despite it being a trailer, there is some seating within the trailer as well as outside seating and a gazebo (with outlets and wifi!). Parking is shared with a church lot, I believe, and is plentiful. Probably not the best for getting work done, or keeping cool on a sweltering day, but a fantastic option for dropping by for a reliable cup of quality coffee (and usually not having to wait in line)! This is my favorite Summer Moon because it is the closest one to my house and sometimes there is no wait. In fact, I have never waited the few times I have been. A few words of caution, it is a trailer if it is cold like today, you may be cold waiting for your drink. It's in the parking lot of a church so if you went on a Sunday right after a service let out, it may be busy. I usually go mid-morning or later afternoon during the week. Even Saturday might be a little tetchy. If you miss the turn into the parking lot, I don't know what you do. So don't do that. There is only one way in. They have a new loyalty program that uses your email and gives you a free drink after 7 or 10 or something. That is cool. There is also a "happy hour" when the coffee is like a buck off. I would probably pay double for SM and be happy about it, so I am not their target market but I'll post a photo of the happy hour deals... Summer moon milk is warm. Winter moon milk is cold. Moon milk is essentially a latte with espresso using the ingredient 'moon milk' which is used other places as a health drink like in the United Kingdom. This coffee establishment is nestled in the corner of a church's parking lot, so positive theres plenty of places to park. They will not bring your coffee to your car. I asked bc it was 30° out. There is a veranda sitting spot and a few picinic tables. There merch is proudly displayed at the order counter and the service is very friendly. They even gave my dog treats and came out for pets, which is surprising bc usually people see my dog and back up. I was really happy they made him get excited and wag his tail for the attention. We spend a lot of time inside and away from people so I really appreciated the attention they gave him. The customer service was attentive and polite. I felt personable with how they treated us not like a business exchange (think Starbucks). The Summer Moon milk comes sweet so I recommend starting at 1/2 sweet moon milk. I did a whole and got a 1/4 to compare it to. A 1/2 sweet moon milk latte would hit a perfect balance. I would recommend coming back. I want to try what else they have. read more

I went to this location for the second time and the coffee was amazing like usual! Only problem was that they ended up serving it to us iced rather than hot (which was no big deal at all) but when we told the lady is was wrong she gave my boyfriend a massive eye roll and practically made him apologize and then when she made the right drink she gave a very rude look. I am in the service industry so i'm not leaving one of those annoying reviews, it was just very disappointing. But love the coffee!!! read more

Delicious coffee made with wit and charm by the lovely people who work there. My go to is the Half Wintermoon. It is sweet enough to enjoy without the full strength they can pack. This location has some lovely sitting areas right next to it so even if it's raining you can sit and enjoy your drinks under the covered area. Very very inconsistent. I usually will get the 1/2 wintermoon or iced blue moon and the first time I got the 1/2 wintermoon it was perfect just had a tiny bit of sweetness so I went back another time and got the 1/2 wintermoon again and it was overwhelmingly sweet I couldn't even drink it which seems pretty unacceptable to me seeing as how expensive the drinks are.
