I have visited this Vietnamese restaurant for lunch a few times, the food is very good, they specialize in different spring rolls, but they also offer the usual pho and dry noodles rice dishes. This restaurant is easier to get a table than the one in Temple City just due to the numbers of people going put to dinner on that mall. The Summer Rolls restaurants offer northern Vietnamese specialties like nem (fermented pork), banh xeo, and banh beo, alongside staples like vermicelli bowls, banh mi, and Vietnamese iced coffee, with vegetarian options. You can come here with your friends or come here to eat by yourself, as I have observed others coming here for a quick meal during a lunch break. The wait staff are nice, and the way you pay is to go to the cash register. If you want to have dessert, they do have a few bean/jelly/coconut milk desserts, plus there is also a Paris Baguette next door if you want a pastry, and an Old Ferry Donut shop a few doors away. There is parking at this outdoor mall and also around the corner, but parking can get packed during meal times. You can also go and get a nice milk tea at the Half and Half Good Old Time Restaurant (Taiwanese) at the same mall, plus there is also a Korean Bon Chon Restaurant, Bay Poke, a Japanese sando shop, Korean Yuk Dae Jang, the Hong Kong "Phoenix" Restaurant, so there are a lot of choices to rest for a party having a picky eater. For lunch, I had a special order of cha gio (deep fried Vietnamese egg rolls) and a banh xeo, which was a crispy crepe with veggies and some seafood. The dishes were tasty and delicious, this place was my choice for a quick lunch when I was going out by myself. You won't be disappointed at the food if you try this restaurant out.
OC has Brodard but the 626 has Summer Rolls! I highly recommend the pork summer rolls with shrimp egg rolls and the charbroiled sliced pork summer rolls. The shrimp egg roll tucked inside each spring roll gives it the perfect crunch! They are my go-to spot for party platters and catering events.
Summer Rolls has been a staple around Rosemead/Temple City. Been here many times and though I've only really been here once to sit-in, I've always ordered to-go here. The good thing about eating here is that they actually serve alcohol so it's nice to enjoy your spring roll or com tam with a beer. Place is very modern with seating areas outside as well to enjoy the breeze. Service. is great here as they're always nice and welcoming as you walk in. Their spring rolls are probably their go-to here. Plenty of options for spring rolls and I'd say their best one is their charbroiled pork that's portioned nicely. Make sure to add some spice into the orange sauce and together with the spring roll makes a great taste.
We love nem cuốn since we discovered it when I lived in Sacramento. I have been trying to find something similar. We came for dinner Monday evening around 530 to find that it was a bit busy. The parking lot is small and we had to find street parking. We waited 10 minutes and were seated. Decor is nice and welcoming. Two unisex restrooms in the back. fried shrimp rolls for the kiddo - we thought it would be more filling but just a small amount of shrimp. A bit oily. An order of both the pork and the shrimp summer rolls. OMG the orange sauce is what I have been looking for! It was so savory and delicious I felt like I can just drink it. Unfortunately, we suspect they use a good amount of MSG so we were really thirsty later. We also got a bun with a variety of items. The bun was well made and filled with toppings. Service was standard. They did give us plates so we can share all the food.
I really like the Cuốn Nem Nướng với Cha Ram Tôm here!! Tried it once and had to come back. I recommend eating it relatively soon after getting it so that the Cha Ram Tom stays crispy. My friend ordered the Bun Bo Hue and said she liked it. She just wished that it was a little spicier (she has very low spice tolerance). I didn't try it so I can't speak to it. We came here on a Sunday at 11am and were seated immediately. It looked like the restaurant had plenty of seating. They have their own parking lot, which is convenient. Try not to get confused by the In-n-Out parking lot, which is right next door.
Was visiting a friend in the area and craving Vietnamese food. There is a lot variety on the menu. Every dish was full of flavor and reasonably priced. My favorites were the spring rolls and the bánh bèo. They were fresh and delicious. It's a very casual spot, perfect for grabbing lunch with friends. It felt like a mom and pop shop. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Definitely a great find if you're in the area!
I was looking out for new and unique foods to try in SGV, and I saw that this particular Vietnamese restaurant had a special banh mi that used ciabatta bread instead of a baguette. More importantly, the bani mi had a runny egg on top of the meat. Seeing this unique banh mi, I knew I had to try it. I came here for date night. The restaurant's AC is not the strong. It's a small restaurant, but comfortable enough. The staff are what you may expect for a small hole in the wall type restaurant. They're nice but to the point. Of course, I ended up getting their unique banh mi. Their options were beef, chicken, and pork. I chose a pork banh mi. The portion is incredibly generous. The bread is a very large size and there were multiple slices of steak and two eggs. I shared it with my wife. I loved the combination of runny egg, the banh mi vegetables, mayo, and beef. Everything came really well together. The sandwich itself was quite large so I ended up using a knife and fork. But overall it was amazing. I would come back to this place just to eat their banh mi. It was amazing.
I love coming here for the bun bo hue and their summer rolls! But this time I wanted to try something new. Ordered the bbq pork chop w running egg inside on ciabatta bread. This sandwich was yummy! The bbq pork was juicy and flavorful and served perfectly with a runny egg that adds a richness to every bite. The ciabatta bread is the perfect base: warm and crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, providing the veggies like cucumbers and shredded carrots. Everything here is good. Service was excellent
This place has multiple locations but this location was the only one open on Memorial Day so a friend and I stopped by for lunch! The parking lot is small but we managed to find parking right away. The restaurant was also almost full when we arrived but we were still seated immediately. To share, we got the Nem Nướng Summer Rolls set for 2 and an order of the Bánh Bèo. The Summer Rolls set is basically a DIY situation. They bring you rice paper, warm water to dip it in, a variety of veggies (lettuce, mint, cilantro, basil, shredded carrots, bean sprouts, cucumber), dipping sauce, and a platter of meat and fried shrimp rolls to build your own rolls. You can also order the tiny vermicelli noodles on the side, which we did. It's meant for 2 people but can definitely feed 3-4 because they give you so much of everything! I already love this place at their other locations so I wanted to leave a proper review for this one (:
It's been two years and we are here again ! This time it didn't disappoint us ! Walked in and immediately greeted by an older lady and she was very nice and good personality . I don't eat pork so she even substituted pork for beef on my sandwich ! The flavor for two dishes we ordered were very good ! Thank you !
I love summer rolls!! Whenever I want a spring roll, I always think of this restaurant. The spring rolls have the crunch wonton wrapper with shrimp inside which adds an amazing texture. All the spring roll elements go very well together. The rice plate was also very tasty. I like how many different elements were on the meat plate. The char on the meat was done well! Overall, this place is a stable for whenever I am in the area. Parking might be a little difficult during specific times of the day, but it is overall doable.
Had a great lunch experience for 6 on Tuesday. We did family style for our friends to try the different variety of viet food. Spring rolls were very fresh, the sauce here is better than most places I been to. The neighboring table ordered ban xeo and it looked so good we made the right choice to get one too, it was super crispy and flavorful. The staff here is nice and took care of everything quickly. There's a good amount of parking in the back or you can park along the residential streets.
I came here to try their pork spring roll. I want to compare it to Brodards. It's a little different. It doesn't come with chive, smaller than Brodards. $14 for 4 rolls. The sauce is different and on a sweeter side. The wonton skin is more tasty, feels like it has shrimp flavor. The flavor reminds of those crunchy shrimp roll snacks which I love as a kid. However, it wasn't as crispy and was a bit stale. Overall, the taste is on the sweeter side, so I still prefer Brodards which is more savory. read more
Vermicelli 4/5 - this was good and tastes very fresh. Good amount of meat as well but I thought there could have been more noodles and lettuce. Summer Rolls now accepts cards! Well, I believe they have for a while now. Hubby and I always get the Summer Rolls (#1 Nem Nuong) and Banh Beo when we come here because it's just so good! We'll also share either a rice dish or a vermicelli. On occasion, we may order a noodle soup dish like bun bo hue. Service is always pretty quick. Restrooms are fairly clean, and parking can fill up quickly and be difficult to get in/out during rush times and if the in-n-out next door is crowded. Otherwise, I recommend ordering to-go! read more

If you are looking for authentic viet food summer rolls is the best! This location is the OG one -- disclaimer there is no pho here! This place is the best to try other authentic viet dishes and their bun bo hue is a must try. It so quite hot inside -- limited AC. There is a wait sometimes for dinner. Parking is available in a small lot to the left of summer rolls. read more

Placed an order of Pork Summer Rolls for to-go. Placed the order over the phone and the lady who took my order was quick to get my order down and the food in my hands. The summer rolls are my favorite Vietnamese food, and it definitely brings back a lot of memories. I remember I would request to dine at Summer Rolls for my birthday or any special celebration! The rolls itself always hits the spot for me and it can never be done wrong! The veggies are always super fresh! The pickled carrot/daikon adds a bit of acidic taste which balance out the sweetness from the pork! As for the restaurant, it was pretty empty for a Sunday afternoon, but I think it's because of the 2nd location they have open in TC. Personally, I think the Rosemead location on Mission is my favorite of the 2 locations. It's just nostalgic for me! read more
I've been to the Temple City location multiple times, but this was my first visit to the OG location. They offer the option to make your own summer rolls, but we opted for the classic pre-wrapped ones. SO BOMB! Make sure to get garlic and chili on the side. We also tried the banh xeo and banh mi, which were huge. Portions were generous, but service was a bit slow. It kind of felt like they ignored our table since we didn't speak Vietnamese, but the food made up for it. Overall vibes were cool nonetheless. Parking was a bit tricky as it was one-way and quite crowded. I'd come back to try the Banh Beo since it looked really good! read more

This is such a great lunch spot! I just came in for a quick snack, but I should've known better. I can't just order one thing from here, the menu is just TOO good haha. Highly recommend the nem cuon of course, but the banh beo is something more unique. It's not as common for viet places to have, so I appreciate the option. Their rice plates are delicious too. There are a couple of differences I've noticed from this Rosemead location compared to their Temple City location. This Rosemead location, the rice plate comes with this crispy bean curd wrapped shrimp item whereas Temple City has steamed egg. This Rosemead location has mint in their nem cuon that the Temple City location doesn't have. Both places are great and I would recommend them to anyone! read more
The banh beo is definitely one of the best! Each little dish is packed with flavor and the fish sauce adds a sweet yet salty element to it. The little crouton adds such a nice crunch and savoriness to the dish as well. Definitely recommend adding the chilis to the fish sauce! The summer rolls were packed with so much filling and a huge piece of pork. There's also some aromatics (I think lemongrass) in there which were a little overpowering for me but still super good. The portion for the broken rice was quite generous as each component complimented each other so well. The grilled pork had so much flavor but my favorite was the shrimp cake (sorry, not sure what the name is). Definitely recommend the banh beo and summer rolls if you're in the area! read more

Been to their other location a few times, but this one feels more homey and laid back. Staff was awesome, super friendly and funny, which made the visit even better. The summer rolls (both pork and beef) were super fresh, clearly made to order. I preferred the pork, but both were great picks. Also tried the beef plate, which was fire. The chili oil is a must, and the dipping sauce that comes with the meat works surprisingly well with the summer rolls too. Would definitely come back. read more

I have been here many times and I can't believe that I haven't written a review for this OG Summer Rolls location. Let's be honest, this is the better location in terms of food quality. I haven't found anything I don't like here. I usually order their Vermicelli with Beef, Shrimp cake, and egg rolls. But there are times they I just crave for their best selling Pork Summer Rolls with Egg rolls inside. The taste is so consistent and I can never get enough of it ! Service is quick and I never have issue with their servers. They fill up your water often. The place is decently clean. I feel comfortable eating inside. read more
I stopped by here with a group of four for a late lunch on a Monday afternoon and this is one of the best Vietnamese places I've been to. Between the four of us, we shared an order of the banh beo and DIY nem nuong rolls, amongst a few other individual dishes. The DIY nem nuong rolls were definitely the highlight of my meal. I love the giant platter of fresh veggies brought to the table for the rolls and there were more than enough rice paper for everyone to make four or five rolls. The meat is flavorful and tender, and the sauce is like a better version of sweet chili sauce. The fried wonton wrappers add a great crunch to the roll. If you're a fan of the rolls at Brodards, you owe it to yourself to make a stop here at Summer Rolls. read more

One of the OG Vietnamese restaurants in the SGV that continues to serve some of the best DIY and premade spring rolls in the area! There's plenty of other great dishes on the menu, but you can table after table of families and people ordering the DIY spring roll sets, which must mean there's something great to it. Even on a busy day, the wait never feels long. Service is to the point and decently quick for the popularity of this restaurant. Lots of hustle and bustle with so much going on inside, but still very much a family-oriented and family-friendly place to eat, gather, and make memories in. The DIY spring rolls come with charbroiled pork skewers, sour pork with garlic and jalapenos, skinny shrimp egg rolls, a healthy side of various veggies, their famous orange dipping sauce that's addictive to no end, and spring roll wraps you soak in a bowl of warm water to roll everything together. My family orders vermicelli on the side, as the set doesn't nearly have enough to really make filling spring rolls. We also get a rice dish, typically the charbroiled pork or beef, to share and round out our meals. If you're wanting something else to fill out any remaining hunger, the steamed rice cakes served with a crunchy bread topping, shrimp floss, green onions, and a side of fresh chilis and nuoc nam is perfect for that! A true taste of a good Vietnamese staple in the LA area, without having to drive all the way to the OC! Worth a visit if you're craving something unique in the area. read more

They are currently closed due to Vermin and cockroaches. They make so much money, now have 3 stores, but can't keep their stores clean. Customer service is not so great. They never greet their customers. Just ring customers up and tell them what they owe. I wish I could not support this restaurant as they do not appreciate their customers. The food was really good, if you are looking for authentic Vietnamese food. Bon Bo Hue had so much flavor and the Ban Beo tasted like shrimp rice chips, which I thoroughly enjoyed I also tried the jelly coconut dessert, which wasn't too sweet, but perfectly refreshing. It does have the red beans inside so it is kind of nutty. I definitely recommend to try it out! read more
Summer Roll! A name that speaks for itself for excellent Vietnamese Summer Rolls! Virtually ALL their rolls are great here. Our favorites are the beef and the raw nam (beef) rows. Yum! In addition, their Banh Xeo (A Vietnamese Crepe, Bánh xèo is a crispy, stuffed rice pancake popular in Vietnam. The name refers to the sound a thin layer of rice batter makes when it is poured into the hot skillet. It is a savoury fried pancake made of rice flour, water, and turmeric powder) is EXCELLENT! It is one of the best I've ever had, very authentic and tasty and is a MUST ORDER! The restaurant is nice and clean with ample parking in the rear. Service is fast and efficient and they do not miss a beat in bring out water or the dishes... very fast, friendly and efficient. Finally, you'll also see bags of Nem Chua (a raw cured sausage that is tangy, salty, and loaded with the funky, spicy, and fragrant flavors of garlic, chiles, and black peppercorns) for sale by the register. They are about $1 per piece and are super YUM! I usually pick up a few bags of myself and friends when I'm in SoCal... eat some, give some, freeze some! :) read more

Food is delicious strongly recommend anybody who has not tried Vietnamese food. I strongly encourage you to try this restaurant friendly people. Customer service is extraordinary. Food is delicious. Can everyone see my photos of the banh xeo???!!! Lichrally the size of my mf forearm! I always love coming to Summer Rolls for any quick craving of Vietnamese food. We ordered 2 banh xeos (given in trays) and spring rolls (the beef one, but nem nuong cuon) hehe sooo good! The cashier and waiters also made the experience better by being so friendly and answering all questions. Note: You have to order to-go but you can eat indoors ! Their summer rolls are my favorite light lunch or dinner around Rosemead, San Gabriel Valley area. It tasted fresh and tasty. My favorite is the sour pork and the shrimp. They offer two options for the shrimp. Boiled with peanut sauce or deep fried. People call and order online to avoid waiting, but I walk in and order on the spot. I waited around 10 mins for my summer rolls. Parking is available abundantly at the back of the restaurant. Don't be mistaken with the in-and-out burger line. They are open for pick-up only, but soon will be open for dine-in. read more

This is the best place to get nem Nuong cuon( fermented pork roll) and Bánh Bèo(steamed rice cake with shredded dried shrimp, croutons and spring onion). The rolls came with the special thick dipping sauce and the steamed rice came with the fish sauce. They have other Vietnamese dishes as well. The Vietnamese crepe is also one of my favorites. The service was quick Ann's efficient. The place is a bit small but they get you in and out quickly. read more
Although the food was good the service is horrible. It took 15 minutes to get our order taken and almost 25 to get the food and the restaurant was only half filled. When it was time to leave there were about 15 people in line to pay for pick up and for eating there. We decided to just leave cash with the waiter. Summer Rolls is MY FAVORIATE VIETNAMESE SPOT in SGV! I don't get to come to this part of the town often so every time I visit SGV, I put in the effort and drive (yes, driving in the 626 could be a bit crazy) to come here for a plate of my favorite dish - #17 Bun New Bo Nuong. The garlic fish sauce just makes the entire dish EXTRA yummy! I haven't tried other dishes since #17 has been my favorite here. The use fresh vegetables, decent amount of spam or pork spam, and the vermicelli is probably freshly prepared since they don't just all stick together. I will be back again for #17, it is addictively delicious! read more

Returning for a late lunch on a quiet Friday afternoon around 2 pm, we found the restaurant surprisingly empty but the staff was not as attentive. I noticed many tables had to wait a while before ordering. Opting for the familiar comfort of Bún bò Huế once more, we were met with a slight disappointment as the broth seemed to deviate from our previous experience, leaning towards a saltier and sweeter profile. Unsure if it was a matter of unfortunate timing or a deliberate shift in recipe preparation. This time around, the experience was a 3.5 out of 5. Despite the minor hiccup, the essence of the dish still resonates, leaving room for hope and a desire to return for a potentially improved encounter. read more

Amazing service!! All the workers over there are extremely nice and very friendly!!! The foods are really delicious and yummy too!! The ambiance of the restaurant is very cool and cozy as well!!! Summer rolls is my favorite place to get spring rolls!! We were seated right away and got our order pretty quickly. I love the crispy shrimp roll in the nem nuong and the dipping sauce is delicious! The banh beo was super fresh and I loved the crouton topping! We also got the bun bo hue and it was super flavorful! read more
